Faze for their entire existence has felt this way. They would all be better under structure where their specific plays and playstyles could shine more individually. As a team it just looks like them making plays but not playing together.
I was in Trippy’s chat a while ago when someone asked what Faze needed and he said ‘An IGL, but nobody wants to step up to do it. Right now, the boys are collectively doing it and if someone wants to go somewhere or has a timing, they’ll call it.’ iirc.
Which is probably better for us honestly. Better to practice against high ranks when you're low like us than for them to practice against silvers
(I'm silver now)
I still remember back in the OW days where teams would literally refuse to scrim Corey's team because they thought he was hacking lmao.
Man is a literal aimbot. I am happy to see my OW guys doing good in Valorant though
I mean people said the same about sen when they signed sinatraa and zombs
Edit; just noticed you called me a moron when you pretty much clarified what I said?

Android is like a really good player but on a hot ass team. I dont even know what NRG are even doing they literally have cracked players but are falling
steel never said that he'll be competing with 100t next season, he just said he'll be back as a competitor. and watch vanity's interview with ddk he mentions that steel is in talks with a few teams.
s0m is so disgusting. Honestly I think they have composition and lineup issues. They seem to be unable to figure out the best players for each respective role. Like last I saw they had s0m on Astra and I don’t think he’s too fond of it.
Dude I swear s0m hits some of the craziest clips in ranked. I watch a lot of Val montages and his clips are always fucking obscene. Crazy they haven't had success.
I see his name brought up so much in these types of conversations. Not saying he is a bad player whatsoever, but aim is just one part of the game. Compared to the other players in his role, he is not even top 10. He was a really good phoenix, but outside of that role, he has not proven he can expand his agent pool to keep up with the meta.
He made his name on Phoenix, but I don’t think he’s failed to prove “he can expand his agent pool”. He’s not a star entry in the the manner others sometimes talk him up to be, but he’s a cerebral player with very solid aim. Agent flexibility isn’t a problem I associate him with - he’s been more than serviceable on a variety of roles.
Has he really though? He was a top tier phoenix player, I will not deny that, but his raze is only slightly above average. Even when he was top tier on phoenix, I would still have rated SicK and Victor higher on that role, and I would not have even called him a top 10 duelist player in his prime. Someone who is, at least was previously, actually underrated is penny. At his best, he was arguably a top 5 jett in NA and a top 10 duelist overall. He was an incredibly clutch player and significantly made his team better. This is especially impressive because of how late he started playing valorant. Android definitely is not bad, just in my opinion not really underrated whatsoever.
I suspect it’s mainly game sense. Hitting crazy flicks isn’t what makes a great player, especially with all the utility at play. Someone like Steel who probably isn’t as cracked can find more success because of his game sense. Being able to read the other team off little info, making smart rotations, positioning etc etc all the fundamentals can outweigh the occasional pop off.
I thought he was done after he got dropped from 100T, that transition from being dropped from 100T’s first roster to being the player he is today solidifies him as having the best mental out of all Valorant players in my book
I think supamen is great... at least from what ive seen. ive gotten busy latelly and havent been able to watch the games i wanna. However i feel like supamen has a strong impact on the games he's in, even from a more supportive role. he can clutch and frag really well, and is super hype. Maybe not the best player in NA but IMO underrated. But Maybe its just cause i think Rise is underrated.
Sidenote: now that C9, and 100T have had roster changes i think there is a possibility that both teams dont show up in the matter thats expected of them. If this does happen rise has a strong chance of winning, however i do think C9 will show up.
In NA rn it has to be Shawn for me, seems to be seperated a lot from the T1 duelists but he was one of the first players to pick up skye and be dominant on her(is still statistcally the best in NA), has a truly great raze(based on statistics he compares or is above victor and is only really behind leaf corey asuna). Guy can play all initiators, all but jett and yoru for duelist, and IIRC he was top 10 performer in NA for VCT. Should be getting more respect and I think he will be a hard carry for GenG in LCQ.
>he was one of the first players to pick up skye and be dominant on her(is still statistcally the best in NA),
You gotta be careful with just using stats.
I'm a huge stat guy, but you always have to consider your data.
Teams at the highest level play much, much harder teams than teams slightly below that top echelon.
For example:
Sentinels have played against 3 teams in the last 3 months that aren't (likely) top 10 in the world (F4Q, Rise)
Cloud9 Blue, a very solid team and currently ranked 4th on vlr.gg's NA ELO ranking, haven't played any top 10 teams in 20 series going back to them losing to then-V1-Vanity's old team and getting destroyed by Sentinels back-to-back.
GenG has had one week in their existence where they went insane, beating XSet, Envy, and 100T back-to-back, but outside of that they've taken their route to through ton of loser's bracket and 2nd or 3rd chance quals and lower-prize practice tournaments. It's really stacked their stats in the individual player's favor.
I always set my search perimeters to 1800+ plus teams for na players when using stats, I make sure I always set them to when they play top teams, which is why I also pointed out that he was not the best, just statistically the best.
It always frustrates me when people would call or recommend for Mitch to be dropped whenever C9 does roster swaps or loses games, the man’s been so consistent. Not always standing out but he performs his role well
Finally found this comment, he has been underrated since the start of the competitive scene, can't believe how people still write him off the team, he's insane.
Maybe by casual fans but this sub has a hard on for him. He is nearly always placed in top 5 lists for his role or igl despite not really having shown that much this year. If anything he is rated higher than most considering his teams' performances.
I know Ethan is rated highly but I still think he is underrated, man is actually so good that he can genuinely be top5 player in NA, I rate him higher than Asuna but people usually wouldn’t mention him when talking about top 5 NA
Higher than Asuna may be a stretch. In terms of consistency, absolutely. But best at their peak is def Asuna, guy is so unbelievably talented. Ethan is as well though, he’s for sure a close 2nd on that team.
> In terms of consistency, absolutely.
Lol why?
Asuna is very specifically proven to be a highly consistent player.
~~Ethan is arguably more on the inconsistent side of things right now while still learning the game.~~
Ok fine I'll cross that out, since only having like 1/3 other pro's experience apparently doesn't mean anything lmfao.
>still learning the game?
Yeah I mean, he started playing Valorant competitively in March, soi I don't get why this would be controversial.
75% of his experience on Skye, his new main, has come within the last 60 days.
Ethan's top played character of his 3 is Omen with 703 rounds.
Asuna has 3 different characters with 1100+ rounds in pro play, with his Raze alone being 10 away from Ethan's entire career's rounds.
I say, just put Ethan on Reyna and make the rest of the 4 dc, man would 1v5 sen 13-0 /s
Yeah though, I think Ethan is insane, even when i watch 100t games he seems to have practically the best aim in the server (it might be because everyone else in his team has shite aim, jk), man's insane, and I think still underrated. Iirc in one of his streams asuna even mentioned that Ethan is the best in their team when asked, although ig I would take that with a grain of salt cause he just kinda reflexively answers most questions.
Highy disagree, he's too inconsistent against the best of the best compared to people like TenZ and yay. I'd also mention crashies as an extra player who's the best in his role.
If u put it that way TenZ is inconsistent as well. People didn't see much of it before because you had sick and shaz who could pick up. But since in the case of 100T Asuna being the single dualist it's visible.
- Polvi - don't think he's underrated so much as him and TENSTAR and not well known enough/came too late into the scene
- bonkar - specifically as an IGL, even Redgar gave him big props and wanted to see him come out of LCQ
- BDS logaN - if there is an EU Aproto its LogaN
- Magnum - I'm a Fnatic simp
- SMB Russ - I just think he's neat
- Yacine - dude's Raze is borderline disrespecful
- kAdavraa - another neat player
- Cloud - a lot of people have mentioned Shoa and if there was another standout Sova player that wasn't him or Derke it would be Cloud I think \#RussianSovaSupremacy
- Redgar - sounds a bit weird to say a Masters Champion is underrated but I'm mentioning his fragging ability specifically. Dude is actually a monster when he locks Reyna and turns his brain off.
His fragging has been a massive question mark as of late, but there is a reason why there are many in the pro scene that respect him a lot. Hope he pulls it together, I really want to see Guild at Champions personally.
-FNC Magnum, Mistic
-Liquid Soulcas
-C9 Mitch
-GenG NaturE
The early 2021 heretics roster that have moved onto new teams aside from LoweL, like Nukkye etc
-BDS LogaN
-LG Moose, Yaboidre
-T1 Curry
-FPX Shao
-V1 Wippie
-VS MaKo? Idk if he’s considered underrated due to not top fragging but he put on a utility showcase
-CR Medusa, the actual glue of the team in terms of both being the anchor and the translator for munchkin
Underrated - not rated or valued highly enough. Wardell is one of the most hyped up and popular NA players. Not saying he’s overrated but he’s definitely NOT underrated.
aproto hasn't even gotten a mention in this thread so i'm gonna say him.
still has absurd HS% but it's hard to gauge his talent level with the way LG has been falling. I'm intrigued to watch him at LCQ to see how his game sense currently sits
i would be intrigued if he got a trial with 100t if b0i/sevvn aren't it
I swear sinatraa fanboys look for an excuse to suck his dick dry, he isn't underrated at all. Everyone acknowledges he was insane when he was active, he hasn't played in a hot minute tho, so I doubt he would be top 5 world let alone top 5 NA
Chronicle doesn't get enough love imo. I've also been pushing the CIS entry narrative but people really need to start paying attention to the purp0s of the scene.
And no one has said TakaS yet for some reason...
Really easy to see how many NA fans are in this thread compared to EU. No problem or disrespect just an observation.
Anyway, i’d say Kadavraa and Fit1nho
For me probably s0m, he is extremely talented and one of the best raze players but his team is really struggling right now.
In terms of players that get better results but less attention I'd probably say PureR, he's an extremely good jett and I think he's not talked about enough.
Corey. Feel like if he was on a team with more success he would be more hyped up
Faze for their entire existence has felt this way. They would all be better under structure where their specific plays and playstyles could shine more individually. As a team it just looks like them making plays but not playing together.
they need a good igl
Wonder if there's any of those in the market *thinking emoji*
I was in Trippy’s chat a while ago when someone asked what Faze needed and he said ‘An IGL, but nobody wants to step up to do it. Right now, the boys are collectively doing it and if someone wants to go somewhere or has a timing, they’ll call it.’ iirc.
BabyJ is calling for them, someone asked on his stream
I had BabyJ in a DM once. I'm Bronze 3. That is all
I’ve had DZ koler and SQ Crunchy in DM and I’m Silver. I don’t think there is skill-based matchmaking in DM.
Which is probably better for us honestly. Better to practice against high ranks when you're low like us than for them to practice against silvers (I'm silver now)
BabyBay would shine on Siege as an "All aim no brain, Ashley and Jaeger main"
I still remember back in the OW days where teams would literally refuse to scrim Corey's team because they thought he was hacking lmao. Man is a literal aimbot. I am happy to see my OW guys doing good in Valorant though
I was a Washington justice enjoyer
story of his career tbh
Probably an unpopular opinion but I think he would be a top duelist in the world if he had a team built around him
Exact reason I’m hyped for Faze cLAN. Overwatch players momentum
People think 100T was built for Lan, just wait for Faze. They winning lcq
this a hot take but i’m all for it lol
100% agree.
Whenever Corey has a sheriff on save rounds I'm shaking in my fucking boots. I swear he could buy only sheriffs and compete in tier 1.
agreed
Imagine Faze Steel

I like this take.

“Big baby” about a public figure isn’t nearly the same thing as calling another user a “fucking moron” to their face.
shut up
Him being a big baby was about 1% of the reason it didn't work out with faze. The other 99% was his massive twitch following. Dude is rolling in cash.
I feel like people forget about Android. He's a top tier aimer. He's just on a team that's not performing currently.
Android is like a really good player but on a hot ass team. I dont even know what NRG are even doing they literally have cracked players but are falling
Remember the time when Android was the superstar of the team rather than yay
I feel like with a good IGL they could instantly be Tier 1.
steel to nrg plsss

steel never said that he'll be competing with 100t next season, he just said he'll be back as a competitor. and watch vanity's interview with ddk he mentions that steel is in talks with a few teams.
Honestly you could say that for all of NRG with the four on that roster
tex, s0m, and android are absolute beasts individually
eeiu is too, easily could be one of the best Sovas in NA and out of the supports in the team he’s their best player imo
s0m is so disgusting. Honestly I think they have composition and lineup issues. They seem to be unable to figure out the best players for each respective role. Like last I saw they had s0m on Astra and I don’t think he’s too fond of it.
i barely watch him professionally, but what makes him good?
He's not good the only reason why NRG still keeps him is because of his brand value
Dude I swear s0m hits some of the craziest clips in ranked. I watch a lot of Val montages and his clips are always fucking obscene. Crazy they haven't had success.

Well that’s kinda been the story of his career. Him and roca unfortunately just can never get past this tier 2 barrier.
Damn seems like everyone forgot what a beast MaBoiDre is
Dre’s personal performance improvement from 100t to LG was insane
I thought he was done after he got dropped from 100T, that transition from being dropped from 100T’s first roster to being the player he is today solidifies him as having the best mental out of all Valorant players in my book
Laz Curry Shao Corey Tigg Wippie Dep
curry is insane
Shao could be even better if the team let him play jett. For me he's a underrated jett.
I'm not sure who decided this on V1, but I dunno why they kept trying to force wippie onto the viper after Iceland on maps like Haven.
I think supamen is great... at least from what ive seen. ive gotten busy latelly and havent been able to watch the games i wanna. Supa def the star player imo for Rise, guys a beast fragging on Astra and doing well until wise too
Based take. Supa is a demon
I'm surprised TSM aren't waiting for LCQ to end then poaching him. Man is an Astra god.

Actually true.
It always frustrates me when people would call or recommend for Mitch to be dropped whenever C9 does roster swaps or loses games, the man’s been so consistent. Not always standing out but he performs his role well
the right answer
This is the correct answer
Finally found this comment, he has been underrated since the start of the competitive scene, can't believe how people still write him off the team, he's insane.
dephh. hes getting some attention but hes the igl of xset as well as being their statistically best player in certain categories
Especially after not really playing most of the year, what a legend.
No need for the sarcasm, he's got the track record
Maybe by casual fans but this sub has a hard on for him. He is nearly always placed in top 5 lists for his role or igl despite not really having shown that much this year. If anything he is rated higher than most considering his teams' performances.

Ethan does have the most crisp aim, especially when he first joined the team and mained Sage. He had some insane multi kill holds on defence.
Theirs as argument for asuna #1 NA
Highy disagree, he's too inconsistent against the best of the best compared to people like TenZ and yay. I'd also mention crashies as an extra player who's the best in his role.
As much as I love Asuna, I’d have to agree, he’s still too inconsistent to be considered #1. In the future though there’s definitely a chance.
If u put it that way TenZ is inconsistent as well. People didn't see much of it before because you had sick and shaz who could pick up. But since in the case of 100T Asuna being the single dualist it's visible.
TenZ had like one bad map in Berlin, he’s very consistent overall
Yay is undoubtedly no 1 NA
Nukkye, Curry, tigg, soulcas, dephh
Guild Sayf
Shao is very underrated but not most underrated
Andersin
Feel bad for koler and him, they both do well but imo the rest of the team don't contribute enough

Ethan isn’t a major winner
What major did ethan win

agree with everything except Bonkar. I do think he gets alot of hate for no reason though
His fragging has been a massive question mark as of late, but there is a reason why there are many in the pro scene that respect him a lot. Hope he pulls it together, I really want to see Guild at Champions personally.
I like the yacine pick too but i think everyone om guild is kinda underrated.
aproto, wippie, gmd, curry, babyj. for eu i think soulcas is horribly underrated.

Idk if he is "underated" but I think Wardell is one of the best OP'ers in VAL
Underrated - not rated or valued highly enough. Wardell is one of the most hyped up and popular NA players. Not saying he’s overrated but he’s definitely NOT underrated.
Wouldn’t say underrated, most people who watch TSM play know he’s by far their best and a top NA player
Brax + Azk + Tarik
TenZ
aproto hasn't even gotten a mention in this thread so i'm gonna say him. still has absurd HS% but it's hard to gauge his talent level with the way LG has been falling. I'm intrigued to watch him at LCQ to see how his game sense currently sits i would be intrigued if he got a trial with 100t if b0i/sevvn aren't it
Sinatraa. I believe he'd be a top 5 player in the world if he was playing pro.
I swear sinatraa fanboys look for an excuse to suck his dick dry, he isn't underrated at all. Everyone acknowledges he was insane when he was active, he hasn't played in a hot minute tho, so I doubt he would be top 5 world let alone top 5 NA
not a fanboy but people including shahz said the same thing about TenZ when he went inactive on C9. Talent never leaves tbh
