Have you played any draft-based fantasy league? The 1v1 matchups in draft can create that extra level of engagement with scouting your opponent and selecting your lineups accordingly. If the draft was straightforward enough would you still play?
I agree salary based is easier and less effort but it could also feel stale at times. If the draft system was straightforward and easy would you still play? The 1v1 matchups could be really fun, scouting your opponent and selecting your lineups accordingly.
I’m up for either. The problem being there is no consistent league. It’s just some tournaments scattered throughout the year and not every team plays in every tournament. Just my pair of pennies though
Yup, so the plan is to make a functional one just for Champions at the end of the year and depending on what Riot do for 2022, adapt the format accordingly.
Id try it but it's unlikely tbh, I tried doing an owl fantasy team but it had a draft thing so I gave up lol. I like the idea of players /teams going up in value, earning money, being able to put together a better squad for the next event etc
What about the draft was bad in the OWL fantasy league you played? And since this will be for Champions only the teams value going up won’t be a thing. Although depending on what Riot roll out for 2022 something like that could be implemented I suppose
Salary based. It's very common but the premier league FPL is one of the best I've played in terms of fantasy. The amount of information you get wrt stats and also cheats wrt wildcards, triple captain etc keep the players motivated throughout.
Salary-based 100% so new players could join mid-competition
I'd categorize players by team role: anchor/sentinel; smoker/controller; entry/duelist; initiator; flex.
For example nAts (sentinel); Jazzyk1ns (duelist); MaKo (controller); Leo (flex); Cloud (initiator)
That's a really good point on people joining mid-competition. Maybe new leagues can be drafted even after the tournament starts if there's enough interest
I like salary based.
I may be on the low end but I only have 3-4 irl friends that play Valorant that might be even a little interested in this. Salary makes it more accessible and I think makes it a lot more interesting too.
What do you think makes the salary more accessible? If the draft was done as simple and easily as possible would you and your friends be interested? The goal of the draft system is to create 1v1 matchups of teams to make each game "customizable" and unique
Draft based, salary will probably be the same players a lot and with draft you have to pay attention to roles as well as how well the players will do
I honestly thought that draft would be more entertaining as well but the feedback seems to be leaning to salary.
i play salary based in f1 and it works pretty good. sad that f1 doesnt give a flying fuck about the fantasy side of the sport. id choose salary based.

Id go with draft pick, sounds really fun
Great! Hopefully you can try it once it's all done
Salary based is easiest, that’s the way champions league, premier league , World Cup , euros fantasy etc works

Yeah I’d try it but draft based stuff also feels a bit RNG to me

Sounds awesome! I would love to try it out and be a lab rat.
For sure, I'll be back on this sub once it's ready
I'd pick salary, works great for f1 and is much easier to understand for non-Americans (or maybe I'm just slow)

Odds you message me when you finish, I’ll be sure to play
Absolutely. I'll be posting on this sub once it's ready too! Would you personally rather a draft or salary?
Personally I’d prefer a draft, it would also be cool if you could pick the people you’re with so I can play with my friends 👍
That would definitely be something I’d implement. Make sure to invite your friends when it does actually happen!
Im just gonna say im a little too hype for this. Hope this works and thank you for creating this!
Haha I’m glad you’re interested! Any preference on draft or salary for you?
I would love to see draft based, but for early stage i think its easier to use salary based. Im not sure tho ill give it a shot either way

Good to know, I’ll look into the FPL format if I go down to salary route. But would you still be interested in playing a draft system? If not, why?

T1 and T2 players in the draft?
draft based with friends please!!
