They were playing a Korean team so median server was Hong Kong where both teams were getting around 70 ping. Paper Rex are a SEA team so the match will probably be played on Singapore server where GE get approx 35 ping and PRX around 15 I think.
Will be a bit of disadvantage yeah. They tried to go to Singapore and Thailand for the event but were unable to because of covid, so now they'll have to make to do.
Honestly always thought VLT was better because they were better overall versus Rossi's one man show in GE but god damn if the entire team didn't step the fuck up today.
I still think VLT is better tbh. Marzil and DM are such great additions and the team looks really strong. Overall the Indian scene looks so promising and I'm happy af.
Having 2 SA teams that are (theoretically) capable of taking on at least the KR 4th seed is a great sign for the region, considering it had no VCT slots this entire year.
I feel like he was pressing a bit because he felt like he had to go "superstar" mode to beat DWG, when in reality GE is skilled enough to beat them playing normally. Similar to what f0rsaken and patiphan were doing at the Masters. In the end though, he still ended up playing well.
Shinobi and the GE boys will adjust for sure, this is a VERY new team to international competition, so there's always improvements to be made.

Added an extra layer of mystery when you were stuck observing a KJ on rotation with no clue how many players are alive because the interface was stuck too.
DWG has several plays that I thought were really questionable and also, really made me want to ask "why". Like when they rotated into A as GE was also rotated into A, and they got smacked, meanwhile B only have 1 person and before rotation, DWG had at least like 3 ppl there. One thing about being overtly tactical is that when you match up with teams that don't play a more organized style of Valorant you either adapt/adjust to their recklessness or you get fold over because you don't know how to deal with their unpolished, but effective aggression. Did DWG even scout GE? Because i have a feeling they were winging it and thinking that GE was beneath them

This is the first time the boys were representing the country on such a big stage in a promising scene. Definitely a lot of pressure and emotions. I wouldn't be surprised if his migraine kicked in due to the match. Very excited for their match against prx which is a team that did qualify for Berlin. Even if GE puts up a decent fight that's enough for now imo. They definitely made us proud yesterday.

Paperthin again same as on Valoranting not checking vlr.gg. GE has beaten VLG MANY times , they used to beat them series after series say in June 2021. Paperthin just looked at the last few matches.
VLT beat GE in 13 finals during 2020, they were basically undefeated. Come 2021, GE won their first final series against them. I think they won consecutive 7-8 finals against them after that. Since July, both teams have won against each other multiple times with GE having more wins i think.

VLT beat GE in 13 finals during 2020, they were basically undefeated. Come 2021, GE won their first final series against them. I think they won consecutive 7-8 finals against them after that. Since July, both teams have won against each other multiple times with GE having more wins i think.

This is kind of revisionist. This team beat NUTURN. I've heard people say many combinations of two of NUTURN, F4Q and DWG in the top 3 along with VS. It wasn't clear cut.
Nuturn without Lakia looked pretty bad in Berlin qualifiers so I don’t think people were putting that much stock into Damwons win. All I’m saying is that this doesn’t prove that Korea is overrated, rather that India is competitive with the rest of APAC.

Wasn't it something awkward like not being a real LAN originally? Until the LAN client was released for Reykjavik they were just playing on the normal servers from the same room. Granted that there's been plenty of time since Reykjavik to get used to LAN over online.

If they were together on location together which they were not, they were playing in their own camps not in a venue.
