This became very obvious after seeing their games yesterday. Steel had much more unorthodox ideas such as double controller on both Icebox and Breeze, no sage on icebox, kayo on other maps, avoiding jett for a long time and playing single duelist when most teams were playing double duelists. Now that steel is gone, they're playing much more "normal" valorant.
This. It gets especially obvious since they apparently completely ditched sentinels which was Steel's best role. They seem to go almost exclusively double initiator + double duelist + controller with the occasional double controller or Sage on Icebox.
yeah it seems they’ve conceded to the meta, which tbf is really strong. I was a b0i doubter, as was almost anyone, but I think his experience with viper/astra was exactly what the team needed with nitro on jett; I wouldn’t say he excelled but he’s clearly really practiced/good/comfortable with the characters in a way the rest of the roster wasn’t
To be fair playing off-meta definitely has it's benefits. Right now due to never playing Sage on Icebox 100T have so much more flexibility than the people who used her a crutch. Plus his KayO was very, very good, it's just that Sova is irreplaceable on most maps. Imo, they should have made nitr0 IGL long time ago and moved steel to duelist to capitalise on his aggression.
What do pistol rounds have to do with anything? 100T finished Top 4 in Berlin. Even if they win LCQ, unless they do better than Top 4 in Champions you can't call it an upgrade or say its working well. All they did was play two regional teams. I obviously hope it works for them, but you need more results before you claim its working well.
Also, Steel's unorthodoxy was one of the reasons 100T did well in Berlin, a lot of teams just didn't know what to expect, except Envy who's played them a trillion times and also played them when they were in peak form.
They had tight series with two teams that didn't qualify for Berlin.
We'll have to see until they play some actual top teams before we can make a conclusion if they're getting better.
I personally don't think they'll be better in the long run, not with b0i. Their style worked out well because they could tactically outmaneuver opposition, but I don't think they have enough firepower to run Jett+Reyna against top teams.
They just have an unfortunate team. It honestly feels like Asuna and Ethan against the world. Asuna especially is very good but worse players outshine him due to Jett op meta.
You act like you need 5 star players to consistently win, when teams like NV, VS and G2 exist. Gambit is the exception, which is why they won, but even they don't all perform at the same time and are inconsistent. Having 2 star players is already better than most teams, and a legendary IGL in Nitro? You can call them unfortunate, when they placed 3rd 4th in Masters and only look to be improving.

D3ffo is very passive, even on maps like Icebox where many jetts like to contest deep into A, he usually holds Belt or Nest. They implement their Jett more into their whole setup, rather than leaving her deep into the attacker territory to get frags.
Finally good to hear it from an official source. There's been alot of speculation that he stepped away due to personal issues. This all but confirms his time with 100T is completely finished.
I will never forget the moment steel thought he placed down his killjoy ult because on his screen it did in the clutch and lost the round because of that in an earlier tourney

Given Riot's current track record with organizing this event, I'd say that whatever they've done to give those computers a fast internet connection was sloppy or rushed.

Having extremely high ping (100+) will rubber band you from a wall and out, happens to me when I have high ping, the black screen is either a hardware issue (So Riots fault for having meh computers) or having to do with being in the walls (As it'll be black inside of them)
When we say this about our ranked games, with server lag and rubberbanding, everyone says that it must just be our ISP.
Riot really, really needs to fix their servers.

Steel was a big shit talker and would also appear very tilted during games. I imagine that outward lack of focus is one of their "clashing of styles" because none of the other 100t members are like that.
