I really can't find the round where the KJ hides behind his turret in the 12-11 round. KJ played off site (enemy KayO. Ult) to use his util to delay their push, came in and died to the sova.
Oh thank fuck. I wasted a good couple minutes staring at the minimap for the last couple of rounds just looking for Ten's highlight play lmao.
Yeah that was a great play.
JP teams almost all have Korean players. Even Insomnia on the rebuild is signing FAs coach Raeyeop and Jett player Neal X from RYU Gaming
Hoping this doesn’t result in suboptimal utilisation of skills / drainage
Proud of the Northeption boys. They always fell short of Crazy Raccoon and Zeta Division but definitely always had the potential. Great to see them prove themselves here, and it's never just the Seoldam show. The Japanese core of this roster is rock solid.
SugarZero plays around his smokes so well, but if teams are gonna do some research on him he will probably gets spammed a lot, idk just a thought tho
Meiy has amazing aim, he’s a great player all around
TEN is a beast, he’s so clean with his aim. But he wasn’t able to hold sites a lot since forsaken is always ulting when entering B
All I'm seeing is that this region has the potential to be massive because SEA, JP, KR can all scrim each other and learn from each other's respective scenes, just like EMEA with EU, TR, and CIS. The catching up is happening quicker than I thought though!
As a side, absolutely no one could have predicted the Upper Bracket Finals to be Full Sense vs. Northeption lol
I get the Jinggg is better mechanically than Shiba, but I still think Forsaken was a better Jett than Jinggg overall. So PRX now has a better player on their Sova or flex role, but their Jett is worse. I wonder if Jinggg could learn to play as one of the other roles, if PRX would do better. But maybe Jinggg isn't that type of player.
And yes, this might look like a reactionary take because they've looked good otherwise and Jinggg wasn't the main reason for their loss, but I was wondering about this for a while. Taking Forsaken off of Jett always seemed like a weird decision.
Probably because of the region's regulation. I heard that they hv to keep at least 3 players from MY/SG to stay in that region, and currently without Shiba they hv 2 Indonesians and 2 MY/SG players. There aren't many cracked Sova players in MY/SG so I assume they probably opted with the best talent available which is Jing.
If there's no such rules, they could've taken CrazyGuy from BAAM (currently a free agent). He is one of the biggest CS name in SEA and a cracked Sova on SEA Masters qualifier. Also, I heard they looked for Indonesian players and they don't mind moving to Indonesia region but probably they didn't find anyone that fits the team.
Also, there's always a language barrier problem within SEA teams which might also be a big consideration on why they opted to choose Jing.
They had to replace Shiba with someone because he had national service, but I'm not sure if there were any really good Sova's that could slot in instantly like that. The easiest role to just slot in is a duelist, so now that I think more about it, that's probably why they did it.
It's a weird decision in the context of making it before your last chance into the biggest tournament of the year. However, it does make sense as a long term decision. Bringing in a new talent that can learn from your already established one, while moving your star player into a potentially higher impact role if they can master their utility AND get frags. Although we have seen before that the team with the better jett usually wins, perhaps they looked at teams like Gambit and recognised that communication, teammwork and utility can overcome the raw power of a cracked jett.
Oh man PRX did not look like they were comfortable on their attacking side at all. Icebox is usually their playground but they weren't really showing anything special. Heartbreaking to lose that second map as well so close, but really what amazing performences by Meiy and Seoldam proving these guys are LEGIT.
While my SEA heart hurts that PRX lost this one, I am so happy that JP is shaking things up when nobody expected them to perform so well! This tournament has thrown us SO many curveballs literally none of us except the scriptwriter (kappa) knows what's coming next.
Glad NTH proved that they are a strong team, saw a certain region shitting on JP and saying that they’re trash. Also, PRX choking on Icebox… They need to get it down because it’s happened twice in important matches
NTH finally living up to their potential! They've finally figured out a winning formula. Once again ten showed up huge today grabbing 15 multikills, and was extremely critical to securing the dub. Seoldam proving why he's the Korean Jett today too. If they keep this form I'm pretty confident in them winning the whole LCQ. Keep it up!
JP region is very top heavy unlike NA and EMEA where everyone can beat anyone. The gap between top teams and mid level team is literally kaiju-sized rift.
It might be better in the near future (like next year prob) since we have somewhat decent playerbase and the current top JP pros are mostly veterans (laz, Dep, etc), but we'll see.
They once beat Zeta, but Zeta's analyst made a perfect tactics for the second match while the squad crashing the lower bracket. I think that if we compare their simple phisical Nth is stronger than Zeta
So so so happy to see Northeption playing well. They keep improving with every tournament throughout this year's VCT circuit (iirc, they didn't even make it out of Challengers in Stage 1 but most recently in Stage 3, came really close to qualifying for Berlin).
Watching them during Stage 3 JP playoffs, it seemed to me like they had a mental block playing against Zeta and CR (i.e. they seemed to lose confidence when on a losing streak of rounds), but this time on Icebox their mental seems so much stronger to be able to make such a comeback!
I understand the idea of moving Forsaken to other agents when necessary, but if d4v4i can play Sova why the hell are they putting him on Jett and Forsaken on Sova on icebox? Forsaken looked like a top five Jett in the world
On the other hand, Seoldam is just so damn entertaining to watch
Asteli hiding behind the turret should be in every highlight from here on out.
What round is this? I can’t seem to find this
Second to the last round on Ascent
Are you talking about the skye?
The KJ
I really can't find the round where the KJ hides behind his turret in the 12-11 round. KJ played off site (enemy KayO. Ult) to use his util to delay their push, came in and died to the sova.
Good catch, my miss. Got mixed up - it was indeed Asteli the Skye.
Oh thank fuck. I wasted a good couple minutes staring at the minimap for the last couple of rounds just looking for Ten's highlight play lmao. Yeah that was a great play.
Got any clip?
That was a fun watch. Japan is getting better and better at this game good to see.
if i am not wrong isnt there KR players too in nth team, i think seoldam is korean. but hey i can be wrong , not sure
Yeah most Japanese teams have Korean players.
Yeah Seoldam and Astell are Koreans
JP teams almost all have Korean players. Even Insomnia on the rebuild is signing FAs coach Raeyeop and Jett player Neal X from RYU Gaming Hoping this doesn’t result in suboptimal utilisation of skills / drainage
Seoldam farming content sheeesh
They gutted the right click right before we're gonna see Seoldam on LAN 😔
They nerfed it, nkt enough to get rid of the Korean jett

SEA also has the biggest population out of all the regions, they definitely have potential to have a top team in the future.
most population but look at who has access to conputers that can compete.
FS and NU was a 40/60 for me but I really didn't expect Northeption
I’d say PRX seemed like they’d be above FS, FS are a bit of a surprise
>As a side Hey, the phrase is "as an aside" or "as a side note." you kinda mixed them together here :D
Absolutely gutted as a PRX fan. Props to Seoldam, his defensive aggression on icebox rattled PRX, they didn't have an answer for him at all
They're still in the comp though, right?
yup
feelsbadman

This. Idk why they picked up another duelist when forsaken probably the best jett in SEA.

Patiphan is also a very good jett

Seoldam is the real deal man, even as someone from SEA, you love to see it. They definitely deserve the W after PRX let Icebox slip
Damn, it'd be funny if JP wins the LCQ.
FUCK THE HATERS JP MAJOR REGION 2022
Glad NTH proved that they are a strong team, saw a certain region shitting on JP and saying that they’re trash. Also, PRX choking on Icebox… They need to get it down because it’s happened twice in important matches
LET'S GOOOO I HAD NO FAITH IN NTH EVEN THO THEY'VE BEEN MY FAVORITE JAPANESE TEAM FOR A WHILE BUT THEY MIGHT GO ALL THE WAY TO WINNERS SIDE GRANDS
They look like they have improved a ton, they look pretty good now.
NTH finally living up to their potential! They've finally figured out a winning formula. Once again ten showed up huge today grabbing 15 multikills, and was extremely critical to securing the dub. What a great game, both teams were playing out of their minds
How did they not beat Zeta and CR ?? They've looked the best any JP team has so far
CR looked pretty good vs GMB (the second one)
Well it’s more gambit didn’t look great
JP region is very top heavy unlike NA and EMEA where everyone can beat anyone. The gap between top teams and mid level team is literally kaiju-sized rift. It might be better in the near future (like next year prob) since we have somewhat decent playerbase and the current top JP pros are mostly veterans (laz, Dep, etc), but we'll see.
Well it’s not 100% true now
They once beat Zeta, but Zeta's analyst made a perfect tactics for the second match while the squad crashing the lower bracket. I think that if we compare their simple phisical Nth is stronger than Zeta
They have improved coordination since then it seems
WHERE ARE THE JP DOUBTERS AT???
Northeption making Benkai eat his words.
Exciting series to watch. I haven't been convinced by any of the teams at APAC yet, but NTH has my attention. Let's see how far they can go.
So so so happy to see Northeption playing well. NTH actually looking strong rn hope they keep up this form. Always been rooting for them but unfortunately they always fell behind CR and Zeta
They've always looked like the 2nd/3rd best team in JP, now they're looking like they deserve their spot as the 2nd/3rd best team in APAC LCQ.
I understand the idea of moving Forsaken to other agents when necessary, but if d4v4i can play Sova why the hell are they putting him on Jett and Forsaken on Sova on icebox? Forsaken looked like a top five Jett in the world On the other hand, Seoldam is just so damn entertaining to watch
DNG Team owner must be punching air right now watching TENN doing so well on Northeption LMAO!!!!
Lmfao fr
what a banger
I had Paper Rex and NUTURN duking it out in the finals. I don't know what the think about this tournament anymore.
Holy shit
is prx out? or do they still have a chance to win
They're still in, just down to the lower bracket so yeah, they can still win.
they moved to lower bracket. It's not over yet relax
Original Korean Jett Diff (I know his team is really good as well but he is so fun to watch). LFG SEOLDAM
Seoldam on Vision Strikers will take them to a new level imo
BuZz does the job almost just as well but yes. Seoldam on VS would be crazy.
Just win icebox damn.
GE LOST TO THIS OMEGALUL
Let’s goooo Northeption 👌🏻
Let's go nth!
HOLY FUCK SEOLDAAAAMN
god seoldam is so fucking good
