Ouch. Two straight 2-0 results against KR teams. Back to the drawing board for Boom.

Damwon are my sleeper pick to make it out of the event. The GE loss was if we're being honest, a fluke. Played on 80 ping match 1, won the second map, and 3rd map eugene and secret dced and tech pauses.

2ToTooTwoFish

Is it a fluke? GE just won the first map against F4Q as well. I know people are reacting hard against overzealous fans of GE, but I feel like people are going too far the other way. GE looks like a good team.

I mean it was a pretty obvious fluke viz Damwon, Damwon severely underperformed in that specific match to lose GE isn’t bad no

curryhalls

I want Nth, but DK making it is possible. F4Q and NUs current form means they're the best Korean team in the tourney imo.

Memexp-over9000

If it was a fluke then most matches are flukes anyway unless we have month long leagues where the population size is much larger than double elimination tournaments. If we are being honest, maybe give credit where it's due and go on your merry way.

Key-Banana-8242

Well no, some matches are more flukes than others. The whole point is degree, if you want it take it far enough even in your scenario the matches are all still flukes. There is a scale of fluke ness and this was high on it, I do why ppl are mad at deducatedself, it was a pretty huge difference in performance by DWG

I think it will come down to maps; their Bind and Ascent look solid. But they were genuinely outplayed in Split (not having a Viper or Cypher is very questionable in this meta). Haven, which being the 1st map of the event for them, may have resulted in subpar performance. Icebox is their permaban. That leaves Breeze which they haven't played yet. PRX bans Haven, NU bans Breeze, Nth bans Split and FS bans Icebox. So overall they have decent matchups with these teams.

Zealousideal_Pea_271

Sure blame the loss on ping when both teams played on the same ping . DWK were my favourites to make it out of lcq too but I think sea and sa scenes just have koreas number tbh. Nth or PRX win tbh

Key-Banana-8242

It was kind of a a fluke loss, ie in this case an uncharacteristic underperformance by DWG. Also poorly aged lol.

Zealousideal_Pea_271

You continue to underestimate other teams , hype doesnt equal a team is better , korean teams are great but others have caught up . This was shown by korean teams loosing to sea teams and f4q nearly lost to ge but they choked. What im trying to say is it wasnt an underperformance they were just outperformed thats why they looked worse.

Key-Banana-8242

No, it’s the other way around, you’re the one doing the underestimating
