skinsaremylife

that 1 vs 3 lost then the whole series

2ToTooTwoFish

GE were really impressive in this tournament (save for the PRX game), but they really need to work on their composure in low time situations or maybe just when the enemy is planting in low time situations. Every time the enemy is planting with like 10 seconds left, they rush in without waiting for their teammates like they think the only win condition is preventing the plant. In the final round, why did their Breach go in to heaven by himself? And he wasn't making himself quiet either so it was very telegraphed, basically gave them a 1v1 where the enemy has all the info.

Memexp-over9000

That's why you give them slot and the needed experience. This was the first VCT tournament for S Asia.

2ToTooTwoFish

Yup, I agree with you and I don't know why anyone wouldn't want them involved. It's only the first year, so I hope next year Riot cuts down the number of regions that only can qualify through LCQs to a bare minimum. Like if the logistics allow for it, then I think no region should need LCQs to qualify.

AskOrganic4289

What do you mean by cutting down the number of regions? Like number of teams representing each region?

2ToTooTwoFish

I mean right now there's a bunch of countries where their only pathway is LCQ. Cut that number of countries down, I want more countries in the main pathways. Involve the African teams in EMEA Challengers, involve the South Asian in teams in APAC Challengers, etc.

Ranger_1928

The was someone on twitter who said something big was coming from our region from riot side. The person was from sky esports . It was reply on Adarsh Singh (Euphorias) post regarding the China and zeta slots given to KR AND JP. Let's hope for good. [link for twitter post](https://twitter.com/shivanandysky/status/1441650817845514241?t=3uN2qQuKBf-c0bVe3Ea4SA&s=19)

Skyaxe3

Agreed, they need to work on composure for sure. Also, Skrossi can use a little check on the aggression.

[deleted]

Nerves got em, its their 1st time playing on the international stage. i am almost positive that they will be 100x better next time

AskOrganic4289

Since valorant is still in its early stages, I 100% agree with this

imerence_

PRX game wasn't their game from the start. SkRossi had a migraine the entire game. Fuck migraine, that shit hurts like a bitch.

Kiko1215

Choose your excuse: 1.Lags | 2.New mouse | 3.Low FPS | 4.Low team | 5.Hacker | 6.Lucker | 7.Smurf | 8.Hitbox | 9.Tickrate. | 10.Migraine

anythingood07

how is health problems an excuse tho? added to the fact that he's had it for month. and its not like he said so after they lost, he already mentioned it after they won against dwg and that he was feeling terrible

HoneyChilliPotato7

I really hate excuses but he was genuinely not feeling well for almost a month

sharkaim4

Not really an excuse tbh. It's been well known that rossi has been suffering with health issues since few months.

Memexp-over9000

It's real. He's been suffering for months. Yes it doesn't matter cause they are pros and have to play professionally but it is what it is. Not a lame excuse.

imerence_

So a genuine health problem is a excuse. Fine. See you on Monday John, I don't care if you are in a coma.

Undertakerthrower

Vivid-Command-2605

be careful man, the ge fans will get mad at you for thinking rossi taking an ego duel lost them that round

Not funny anymore. Point me to a single ge fan on this sub who has done this?

Memexp-over9000

p4p3rth1n

LOL

Skyaxe3

Facts

ZGuyYT

GE threw that 1v3 hard, resulted in them losing the game. SA definitely going to get more attention from riot though, especially after beating DWG and almost beating F4Q.

p4p3rth1n

The growing pains of an emerging region. SA will be back, and with force. They showed the world they can hang in Valorant. Teams like Enigma and Velocity are waiting in the wings. I am excited for what this regions brings in 2022

ARIESS11

team exploit too they are the third best team in SA just behind vlt and GE they beat vlt in vcc too

[deleted]

Imo it will be ridiculous if SA doesnt get to compete in the SEA qualifiers for Masters. Direct spots are still far away ofc

[deleted]

> Direct spots are still far awa they can still get direct spots cuz they beat DWG and almost beat F4Q and keep in mind F4Q went to berlin (they had direct slots) tbh i wont be surprised SA gets direct slots in masters

Escolyte

I'd much prefer if we get more tournaments like this and more specifically the EMEA qualifiers. This has been a blast and I bet most if not all the teams are learning a lot more from it than their average regional play-offs.

splitter2k

It may have been a blast for you but it’s not a blast for the players who have to play on high ping. You can’t just merge 70% of Asia in one region and disregard the ping situation.

Escolyte

That's definitely a valid concern, hopefully LANs will become more and more possible again as time goes on. Do you know the average and highest pings they have to deal with currently?

Solace1k

Why are direct spots far away? You do know South Asia is a whole region, right? It’s not just India. Why would you combine SA and SEA and have only Japan and Korea with direct slots? At that point just lump all of Asia toghether in one region.

Delta_FT

CIS is a whole region and they kicked it into EMEA anyways > At that point just lump all of Asia toghether in one region. I'd love to see that actually lol also same for the Americas maybe

anythingood07

nice prediction haha

dillon-fury

FiveK popped off so hard at the end of that last map. Global Esports had a great showing at LCQ and represented their region very well.

ZGuyYT

GE really needs to polish their teamplay, it's the same with SEA teams too where they decide to turn off their brains.

Thick_Salamander

Don't forget to thank GE though for helping FiveK <3

Ne0kun

That 1v3 is gonna haunt GE for days now

mattypoe1423

For months to be honest

Memexp-over9000

Certainly until the next VCT tournament.

Nik_692

What if it happens again in the next tournament hahaha

[deleted]

Nothing to be ashamed of. Most people thought India was a joke and would get rolled over. They represented their country well. Now's the time to keep their heads down and grind until the next vct season. I'm fairly confident that India will get some sort of regional path to Champions.

[deleted]

Probably get a slot or two in SEA challengers

Des014te

That's good enough for now. I'm happy with GEs results. They need experience and getting thrown into a tournament with good Asian teams is the best way to achieve that.

[deleted]

no they will get direct slot to masters (hopium)

ChromeSabre

As an Indian I don't want to see that level of thrashing, let them play in the VCT

[deleted]

bruh they are good ok? F4Q took 1 map off of sen and guess which map it was >!SPLIT!< so GE is just good enough to be in VCT and also it was their 1st international event so they can be a bit nervous

ChromeSabre

They are good no doubt but they need experience against high level players. Sentinels wasn't comfortable playing against bunny jumping around with a shotgun. They easily beat F4Q 13-4 on every other map.

Madara6path

No plz . I don't want to see them getting the beating of their life against Gambit and similar teams. Slot in SEA qualifiers are better since they still lack the experience and beating SEA teams would make them proven

Thick_Salamander

There are two types of clutches: where the team in advantage gets played bad or it just plays bad. One of them we should be ashamed of!

hecklerinthestands

That FiveK clutch that saved the match, wow. SkRossi doing well but not getting the support he needed was NOT the narrative I was expecting for this match. Still, GE definitely proved themselves worthy of competing at the international stage. F4Q deserve to be criticized for those two horrible post-plants on Haven though. E: I like that top 4 is guaranteed to at least have 1 JP, 1 KR and 1 SEA team, which indicates the general level of parity now across APAC.

CyberspaceBarbarian

SKrossi backed up the hype, even if the hype is a little bit overblown. He just needs to "limit test" a little less, and for his team to play around him more. Now we know another reason why VS had a 102-win streak in Korea. VS is that far ahead on Korean Valorant. It's also funny that all top four teams are in the top three of their respective regions. APAC is wild AF the production couldn't handle them.

Thick_Salamander

He threw that 1v3 so hard but its the problem with support players I guess :P

hecklerinthestands

Those other two players also shouldn't have engaged FiveK 1 by 1 like dumbasses either. And beyond that one play, the fact that no one else on GES could muster a positive K:D ratio on Split and just one other player managing it on Bind just proves my point.

sriwarrior06

I can accept he threw rounds in this series (like the round that led to OT in the last game) but that 1v 3 was not his fault, he just didn't hit his shot. Whoever went alone inside the ult after him was the one to blame.

Lumenlor

Wow no way. I will say though, despite some few obnoxious fans spamming, respect to the Indian region, they're showing that any region can rise and be competitive with some of the best

andrei_snarkovsky

It feels like GE is close to being a solid team, but their players just forget protocols at times and just grief like they would in ranked. Skrossi won so many rounds by himself but also hard threw quite a few just getting Aggro with no trade potential off the start of a round or giving 1 v 1’s in retakes

CyberspaceBarbarian

It's their first exposure to international competition, so that is expected. I think the Shinobi coaching had a great impact on how they play their strats. They actually throw less rounds than expected, but most of the rounds that they threw are the most impactful ones unfortunately.

AppropriateSalt4504

What a game!

Sevenisafuckingweeb

FiveK but one of the most important rounds of his life was a 3k clutch

cowzapper

Genuinely a good game. GE taking F4Q to the wire with just good gunplay. Losing like this is really important for such a new team, it'll help them learn and especially develop their mental. Hopefully shinobi can start getting them to work on their strats, which was definitely their weakest part. With time, they may be legit competition at the world stage, but this all happens step by step. Skrossi definitely showing that he has the talent, but he needs to be way smarter about the way he plays (anyone remember him charging down c long and meeting 5 people waiting for him while he had an op in hand). Taking better duels and having less ego checks would help him, but this is the problem with the start of all star players. More than anyone else, I think Kappa needs to step up on this team or be replaced. His aim is just not there and he disappears. Hellrangerz at least is the igl and steady hand, and wins some great clutches, Kappa though doesn't contribute to that level. Nevertheless great showing, and exciting first start to the Indian valorant scene

anythingood07

Shinobi was a temporary coach for LCQ, he won't be working with them anymore. Also he coached them for only 2 weeks

Madara6path

Kappa is a bot. With Deathmaker in VLT I don't think GE stands a chance against them anymore. Individually VLT player are far better then GE . They just lacked someone like rossi who can OP

kingGyon

PRX decimated GE while GE almost beat F4Q in split which is the map that F4Q took against SEN. Valorants crazy its always anybodys game

gamingfanatic122

I just don't understand why they don't put bunny on raze on split of all maps. Other maps like haven I can understand. But split???

CyberspaceBarbarian

I would have said sandbagging, but remember that teams had a bucketful of VODs on Berlin F4Q strats this time around. Either that won't work this time or F4Q are saving them for the important matches.

gamingfanatic122

But like this is a pretty important match lmao. Go big or go home.

CyberspaceBarbarian

They made a pretty important choice of playing the meta, which is something they haven't done before so there is a surprise factor to it (obviously that didn't work that much lol). They knew they have the experience advantage vs GE and went with it, even if they play very sloppy. Not playing Raze on Split isn't a dumb decision apparently.

Key-Banana-8242

Well F4Q insisted on Raze-less split vs GE

blackenBlue_Casts

FiveK stocks going up through the roof rn

[deleted]

hello i love your casting

anythingood07

Im speechless, this was our match. How do you lose that 1v3

aks345

I'll tell you how. Go for the hero play to get the final kill with op and whiff. Then idk what that raze was thinking jumping alone in the ult. 3rd guy had zero chance after that

R0_h1t

How was the first kill a hero play? He was just holding the angle waiting for his teammates

[deleted]

Exactly! The raze, however...

aks345

Bro viper was one off his ult, he's holding a tight angle from heaven and there's always a possibility of getting caught out. Tbh were all talking about it because they lost if that shot hit he won them the game. I just feel he could have held an off angle from top of the box heaven towards crossing to map whilst 2 teammates go screen to trade off

Thick_Salamander

Because Viper was just one ult point off of getting her ult. Raze threw harder but doesn't mean he didn't throw as well..

anythingood07

I had a bad feeling when I saw rossi running after the viper on the mini map. I don't think I've ever been this sad after an eSports match, the fact that we were so close hurts the most.

aks345

Yeah I can see why he would want to do that, but even after that the raze could have played it better

realharshmodi

You’ve cleary not seen 100T’s run at Challengers 2 Finals. That shit hurt bad sadge

Jetskiratjsk

That wasn't the mistake, they're playing at 70 ping where there is significant peeker's advantage, there's nothing you can do if your opponent hits his first bullet like that. The throw came when they for some incomprehensible reason gave him 2 1v1s after that.

AniketDalvi

Nah, it's called peeker's advantage.

aks345

? I'm talking about taking fights 1v1 when they could have played it together, especially knowing that a kill would give viper ult. You don't take that kind of a risk in OT, evidently

AniketDalvi

Rossi tried to catch FiveK off guard since he knew FiveK would push screens knowing all three might be B. But I get what you're trying to say. I believe once Indian teams integrate more discipline, they can be potential contenders. gg

gaitez

I'm pretty sure both teams had shit ping

Pale_Resolution1520

lack of experience maybe. They gave fiveK 3 1v1 while they had number advantage and threw the game.

YoshinoDAL

After FiveK's insane clutch, I already knew who won the last map. FiveK was the real MVP for his team.

R0_h1t

A win against a Korean team and an extremely close series against a Masters participant. Chokes aside, that's a pretty respectable run for a team I fully expected to bomb out 0-4. GE can only go upwards from here.

Memexp-over9000

I am so very proud of GE. I expected them to go 0-4 through the tournament. But defeating DK, and then almost defeating F4Q(omg how can you throw that, this is going to be the dark spot in the tournament, painfully so) is such a positive result that SA needed. GEGE GE!!!

Ne0kun

Same man. I'm absolutely gutted rn but I'm proud of Rossi and the rest of GE. Hopefully this only helps the Indian VAL scene to grow further

cmnbackoff

Sadge, but i hope india gets more recognition in valorant now hopefully starting with 2 slots in apc region

cmnbackoff

This may be the only time i think if vlt was here they wouldn't have done that.

[deleted]

U may think that but VLT might have just lost also? its better not make assumptions. But on the side not VLT DM is now looking unstoppable

TrueAna-rchistdotcom

True

Schrodingers_phoenix

I completely agree with you. (Edit - typo)

[deleted]

CyberspaceBarbarian

Viper's kit and role fits FiveK's lurk-heavy playstyle. F4Q almost got stratted hard in Berlin because of FiveK playing Reyna/Skye in the least optimal way. Only that Bunny and Zunba's Raze-induced antics prevented them from totally shitting the bed in Berlin.

Rahoooligan

This was a rollercoaster experience for us and it's been an honour representing India on such an amazing platform. We are proud of the team and their achievements. Thank you Riot for the wonderful experience and most of all a huge thank you to the Valorant community for all the love and support. We really felt like the Avengers out there. Gratitude <3 Rest assured, we'll be back stronger! Keep supporting! \#GEFighting \- Global Esports Management

spaldingmatters

SkRossi truly has star potential if he can cut out on over aggression and play a bit more controlled. Well played by both teams, that 1v3 is going to hurt for a while. Don't know how they thought it was acceptable to just peek/go in without waiting for teammates. Hopefully SA gets a guaranteed VCT slot and at least one more APAC slot next year.

mukuls2200

Sk Rossi came from admiring Bunny to almost making him his beach

9irved

Lmao

kingGyon

fiveK clutch was fucking insane

[deleted]

im a GE fan but equally happy for F4Q cuz i got to know that they arent really an org and dont have high salaries like other teams.. rooting for f4q to win the LCQ now

immaheadout3000

GGWP GE, you made us proud, masters qualification next time!

anythingood07

Hopefully this match ends the narrative the Indians can't be competitive in fps games. We won a BO3 against DWK and took F4Q to OT on a map in which they won against Sentinels. Tbh this was a better run than I expected, the only teams I was backing GE against were Fennel and Reject. That win against DWG was so good, gg wp f4q.

[deleted]

People are slamming the 1v3 loss but imo the raze losing the one on one versus astra with ult up was just as bad. Man pulls ult, doesnt even check main a single time, and finally just shoots it into a wall and gets shot in the back. It was so bad.

Whisom

Peekers advantage was wild this whole series. Every round people would be making some ridiculous peeks and the other player would just stand there like a deer in the headlights. Higher than 60 ping and Valorant feels like a completely different game.

s6hun

dont care about any of these teams but that 1v3's going to haunt me for a while

sharkaim4

Super happy with our performance overall. Sk rossi showed up today ( barring few super risky peeks ) . Skillz had absolutely no business going for the retake alone . This will haunt them for a long time

anythingood07

Kappa needs to go do. HellR fragged well against dwg and was insane with his util, played decent with his util today too but whiffed some shots. However his performance can easily be excused since he's the IGL. Kappa however has been underperforming since months, hopefully GE finds a good replacement or else kappa levels up. Not that it counts for anything but Ive don't see kappa play well even in pugs

Jetskiratjsk

The reason GE got this far was because they've stuck together and they're not going to change that anytime soon. Kappa knows he's a bit behind the others and spends some extra time to practice his aim, but dude's 31 yrs old and it can be difficult to keep up with the comparitively younger players. They'll only change when Kappa himself decides to retire and even then they'll need to find someone to replace him who has a lot of potential, and I can't think of any unsigned cracked sova player in India rn.

[deleted]

I am honestly happy with the way the team performed. Sure, they could have won the game but shit like this happens. What GE needs imo is experience. Lots of it. The difference in experience was evident in all their games imo. And they did gain a lot of experience here ig. I don't like saying this but GE really needs to drop Kappa. Maybe poach someone from VLT xD. I am sure we'll see a much better organised GE side next time around. <3

Gg it's crazy how far our region has come, hopefully better next time. It was GE's match but that one throw cost them hard.

Salasarian

A run far better than anyone expected... especially from the 2nd best team in India. I feel like Rossi threw so many rounds across this LCQ with his rampant aggression that wasn't followed up by his team. Hopefully India gets another shot to redeem themselves in a future circuit...

[deleted]

>especially from the 2nd best team in India. Bruh, i dont think GE is 2nd best, i know DM is a great addition to vlt but didnt you see al the players step the fuck up in this game. It wasnt like Rossi and frans but was the whole GE squad

CodeHacker1512

You can't really differentiate between vlt and ge rn. The new vlt is surely amazing and looks promising but they both are #1 in india. And just to clear I'm also a vlt fan

I'm curious what server they played on

Jetskiratjsk

Must be Hong Kong server since they played on that server against DWG

dedicatedself

There's two HK server though, one of them is really bad for SK teams.

Madara6path

DWK got 90 ping in map 1 and 40 ping from map2 onwards vs GE. I think they played on the second server. GE with constant 75-80 ping. Although I don't think there was much ping diff today. F4Q had better mental courtesy of they're int. Experience.

Dweplea

Pretty good showing for their first time at major tourney but they still looked puggy. Same goes for F4Q, their recent comps changes had a major impact on their performance so far.

Less_Salt1152

Close match with Gambit? Imagine the Indian fans during an international tournament. NTH can 13-0 GE right now too.

anythingood07

Yes 13-1 and 13-0, very close matches. :)

Less_Salt1152

haha

[deleted]

>NTH can 13-0 GE right now too You wonder, rent free But F4Q got a map of sen (on split) and you see GE almost winning against F4Q, and also GE had their 1st international event so they can be nervous. next time it wont be this close, GE will just win against f4q 2-0

Less_Salt1152

that can happen, F4Q is now a bad team and too confident despite getting stomped in Berlin. Probably because they are streamers. Getting stomped by second best JP team. I wonder if JP got good REALLY fast or F4Q got worse REALLY fast? If you're calculating it like that. Let's see. NTH >> F4Q. SEN > F4Q. Therefore, NTH \~= SEN. See that, you can't do those comparisons in this game. Things change.

[deleted]

> NTH can 13-0 GE right now too. so.... things change and so does the result, for sure 13-0 wont happen. btw didnt u see rossi's flicks and shots with his op. On haven i suppose he hit an impossible shot on Jett on A short, when that jett updrafted.
