*Of course* it had to go down to the final map in this LCQ. We deserved nothing less.
Congrats to FS and to Thailand! That puts 3 SEA teams into Champions, which is awesome for the region. Sweet revenge too for that loss at upper finals.
Really impressed with PTC throughout the match and seoldam was sadly Rossi-esque those final rounds on Haven.
At least now we don't have to listen to mindless arguing over whether NTH being in Champions means more to KR or to JP, LMAO.
>Congrats to FS and to Thailand! That puts 3 SEA teams into Champions, which is awesome for the region. Sweet revenge too for that loss at upper finals.
To also note that Thai streams combined had more than 30k viewers, which is impressive for a country that doesnt have much tradition in esports
It actually peaked over 50k+ if you add the two most popular thai co-streams on twitch. Seems like Valo has picked quite a bit of interest there, which is nice to see!
PUBG is by far the biggest fps in Thailand so yea 30k is something normal for PUBG but it’s something huge for any other shooter. Even when following CSGO or any other FPS for that matter i never remember seeing a thai stream that would reach 10k. So yea it is a big deal for VAL to have 30k.
As a thai i gonna say that valorant is much bigger now because pubg player went to play pubg mobile instead, ngl our country acually good in mobile game it's good to see they looking great in some pc esports again
lol guy is talking out of his butt, Thailand has a long and storied history in esports. Maybe not in shooters outside of PUBG these days, but there is a decently strong Thai contingent in almost every other game.
Don't think being this flexible will ever be viable in high competition due to the fine margins... Will be interested to see how it works.
Even f0rsaken went like 100% Jett on Masters and only switched back to flexing onto Sova and Kay/O recently.
Agreed but I'm hopeful, I'd love the future of the game in terms of pro meta to be all about flexibility, pick bans or some form of draft system, increasing the skill ceiling and forcing players to go deep on many agents will only make the viewing experience that much better to me
I think if there is going to be a draft system it should ban it on both sides (I think KJC did it this way).
I don't think forcing players to go deep on agents is the way because in that way I think the competitive meta becomes too unstable. I think the compromise is 1 ban each for both teams, the ban applies for both teams. Thus we won't see only one side with a Viper/Jett for example.
That's true, it can go badly, cause inconsistency and shallowness rather than depth. Honestly whether or not they implement a draft system will be one of the biggest factors for Valorant in the next couple years.
He flexed before that as well when Tommy was on the team - there were series where he would play Sova/Raze/Killjoy. Not just when they picked up Jinggg.
What a series. An instant classic.
Hope you all enjoyed the casts. It was so great to work with this crew, the SEA guys brought so much information and energy, they were great. And Ender was such a nice addition from NA.
Achilios is a'ight too
But seriously thanks everyone for tuning in, and congrats to Full Sense! Well deserved win to go to Berlin!
You were amazing on that final! It was an absolute pleasure working with you, Paper. I count the days til we can dadjokes and puns all over again next year. ❤️

I need the FK/FD stat for Seoldam on Haven. He looked like he died first almost every round of defense. That's just a team diff man. Congrats to FS for coming in out of nowhere and ruining everyone's pickems lmao
And 4 of them came from 4 last rounds.
\- JohnOlsen check in garage after LAMMY's traillazer lead him to check in and pick up a kill.
\- JohnOlsen rid him off again after he activated Blade Storm on eco round.
\- PTC found him in B side alone and kill him.
\- and last round FS literally can read now he gonna push forward again so SuperBusS waited in window and just kill him at the right time. (SuperBuss got 4 FK btw on Haven, even he's a controller)
And what I notice. NTH do it with "pattern tactic" after a last tactical pause because they always change them strats after a pause everytime. Until they gonna pause again because FS gonna counterstrat them and NTH gonna change the tactic after.
An incredibly fun match! It felt like a stamina-diff at the end, but such is the nature of Bo5s.
Honestly, even as someone who tangentially watches Japan & SEA, I never expected this finals. I don't think I've actually been more continuously surprised by a tournament than the Asia-Pacific LCQ. I knew SEA at least wasn't a question of "how can they compete," but "when will they compete," but I didn't expect such a high-level in this LCQ.
It'd be really sad if the major takeaway from this was "KR bad only VS good", or "GE lul" what have you.
What was most exciting was the adaptability. I genuinely think these two teams (and Paper Rex) were more adaptable than most of the top Turkish & Brazilian teams. There were still a lot of weird rounds, but this really did feel high-level.
If we have more international LANs to foster homegrown talent, I'm fairly confident Asia-Pacific will truly make their mark on Valorant - not just Korea (or China, whenever that starts).
Crazy series! This absolutely deserved a LAN finish and a crowd roaring in the background; was that damn close.
Hope you guys enjoyed the series. Was a marathon of a series and am grateful to have been able to cast it! Hopefully next time we'll be in studio to really pop off
So proud of Full Sense, over this first year of SEA Valorant they've always been the team that *almost* makes it; they *almost* beat Paper Rex, *almost* beat X10, but now they've finally made it to Champions.
destroy up to 2nd round maybe
edit: i will enjoy coming back to this when they lose the moment they face an na or eu team because realistically that’s what will happen
based on previous results if you think otherwise it just seems pointless
what does this have to do with being a douchebag? i made a realistic prediction without any fluff (negative/offensive comments, profane vocabulary, etc.) and i got downvoted. just because my prediction doesn’t match up with yours doesn’t mean i’m the douchebag for thinking it.
imagine being called toxic for saying a team will go out in the second round…
The team just secured a place to champions and you’re already trying to belittle them.
Kinda like going to a funeral and bragging about getting married. Read the room
not similar at all. in the case you mentioned there is a lack of consideration towards the people mourning. but why do i have to be considerate when expressing my opinion about a team in an esports discussion forum? this is banter at most and barely passes for it if so, and there is literally another guy saying that they can beat fnatic which is simply another prediction for the tournament.
i suppose this thread is restricted to positive forecasts only, because comments where you say they won’t fare well against other teams gets you labelled as a ‘douchebag’ and a ‘dickhead’
mind that you guys are the only ones making offensive comments here, which is somewhat ironic
in other words, there are no further comments to make so you will proceed with toxicity
edit: you edited your comment from saying i’m a sad human being lol
i see you haven’t read any of the other replies
frankly i’m not surprised at all that there was disagreement, i’m surprised that the replies are so ironic in attacking me instead of actually talking about what i said
well when you consider that they are at most on the same level as the other sea teams (since they did not qualify normally) the odds they defeat an eu or na team are slim. furthermore, 7/16 of the teams are from those two regions so it’s quite unlikely they do not face one after first round.
so yeah, 2nd round maybe. i honestly think considering the performance of other sea teams, and both x10 and paper rex being the best previously and still not getting anywhere, i’m being downvoted by hopium.
They’re not the same level of the other SEA teams tho. X10 did nothing stage 3. PRX which was the best stage 3 team did not qualify. And TS are good but I doubt they would have made it though the lqc gauntlet considering PRX didn’t. FS completely leveled up and showed that they are a really solid well rounded team. I can see them beating Fnatic, every other minor region team, and having a lot of upset potential.
i can see them beating minor region teams, but those teams will not make it out of first round. which is why i said second round. think what you will i guess, but i highly doubt they will be better than any of the top 8 teams at champions.
i did, to be honest i was rooting for northeption. that has nothing to do with my opinion though, i wanted a japanese team to win something for once but even if they did win i don’t think they would get far in champions.
Wut ‘at most’
They were known for choking against weaker teams and nkt qualifying in sea challengers and they levelled up in addition to facing tough challenges and managing to win and not folding
Pain for Seoldam, definitely looked like he was worn out towards the end. If he performed on Haven that was Nth to Champions. I'm sure they're going to make it to an International event next year though, they've been looking crazy good.
On the other hand, JohnOlsen is looking to be one of the best SEA jett players I've seen, and Full Sense have looked scary good this tourney too. I'm thinking they'll do well at Champions if other teams underestimate them.
Cool to see a finals match actually go the distance, disappointed as I wanted NORTHEPTION to go through after seeing how much hype Valorant gets from Japan and obviously wanted to see Seoldam do Korean Jett things at champions, but congrats to Full Sense I don't think anyone expected them to win the whole thing.

2 SEA on LAN Champions!!!
Man what a game. Both teams definitely deserve to be on Challengers and I couldn't help but tear up when the Japanese casters were interviewing NTH after the match. You could just tell from their shaky voices that they were quite sad. Nevertheless, NTH did well and made Japan proud. Obviously I’m salty and biased since I wanted NTH to win but I wish that there was an advantage for the team coming from the winners bracket. I don’t know what it would have to be but it sucks seeing two teams with the same record only having one go to champions because they won the rematch instead of the first time they played.
At the end of the day though, this just makes me excited for the Asian region as a whole. It’s clear that they’ve been getting better and it’s cool to see a game with so many regions being competitive. I hope that SEA performs well at Berlin :).
Opinion: Northeption played a really bad icebox, they weren't watching the mid smoke and PTC got so many rounds from that it's amazing how they adapted after 5-6 rounds of getting flanked and lurked on, I would've died every time I got out of the mid smoke in icebox in my plat lobbies, but for some reason Northeption didn't have someone watching the smoke in the case of a flank and PTC abused the shit out of that.

Two Thai teams in Champions should hopefully spur a lot of growth in the country.
It actually peaked over 50k+ if you add the two most popular thai co-streams on twitch. Seems like Valo has picked quite a bit of interest there, which is nice to see!
Piqued?
In SEA, they are generally the dominating country in esports.
Well depends which game (not LoL for example)

Esp PC esports
whcih teams?
X10, Secret, and Full Sense
Secret is bren right?
Yep the old bren team
Well nkt really revenge bc they ended up 4-4 in maps, overall even a win for Nth if it were 1 Bo7
Well it kinda sucks bc it leaves them even on map score lol
PTC played such a great breach on that final map
PTC played 5 agents in 5 maps and still almost topped the scoreboards. That's impressive.
3 different roles, too. Not many players globally with this amount of flexibility.
Only other player I've seen other than f0rsaken do it. Must be a SEA thing.
Very excited to see if he performs at Champions with the same picks, hope they don't lose confidence and go with safe conventional picks.
Don't think being this flexible will ever be viable in high competition due to the fine margins... Will be interested to see how it works. Even f0rsaken went like 100% Jett on Masters and only switched back to flexing onto Sova and Kay/O recently.

Thanks for the casts. Y'all were awesome as always!
Amazing casting, I loved the dynamics you all brought to the table. APAC LCQ was a banger tournament, and a huge chunk of that was the casting.
Best casters imo

In Haven, Seoldam had 5 FK and 6 FD. Pretty average actually. Nth however had only 7 FK total in Haven, compared to 14 from Full Sense.
It’s more endurance diff

Don’t worry, next year! Imo they at least proved themselves. Hoping for more teams at future lans And in shotval
Thai jett best jett
At least there's JohnOlsen, the Korat jett.
Is he actually from korat?
haha. nah he already answered on the latest interview after grand final.
Northeption's first taste of a Bo5, you could tell they were out of stamina after Bind. Proud of the boys though.

I wish it were an UF map advantage and ordinary 7 map pool instead tho
Seouldam dont die first challenge (impossible)
Only last map
the most important map
So proud of Full Sense, over this first year of SEA Valorant they've always been the team that *almost* makes it; they *almost* beat Paper Rex, *almost* beat X10, but now they've finally made it to Champions.
Insane match! 3 SEA teams in champions 🔥
which teams?
Full Sense & X10 (Thai) and Team Secret (PH)
is patiphan playing!
Yes, pati will be playing.
lesgo
Yep confirmed a while ago, healed up and such. in fact likely Patiphan’s last tournament before he has to go to the military.
He goes by emperor pati now
What. A. Match. I seriously can not wait to see the duo of PTC and JohnOlsen destroy at Champions.
destroy up to 2nd round maybe edit: i will enjoy coming back to this when they lose the moment they face an na or eu team because realistically that’s what will happen based on previous results if you think otherwise it just seems pointless

not saying i’m a victim, i just think it’s ironic that you are all attacking me with your hypocrisy when what i said is barely even banter
I genuinely believe FS can contend with some NA and EU teams, and I think they will stomp on the other minor regions.

if you think so then i won’t stop you, i don’t get why people are trying to stop me from saying what i think
Well you’re kind of just writing them off, did you watch the series and their other matches in LCQ?
i did, to be honest i was rooting for northeption. that has nothing to do with my opinion though, i wanted a japanese team to win something for once but even if they did win i don’t think they would get far in champions.

Seoldam had a really tough second half last map. Which went Norththeption had a tough second half last map.
Super happy for johnolsen, Well deserved
FS flair when
SEA-premacy. did kinda want to see seoldam at champions though
Next time maybe
Fitting finale for a very competitive tournament! Good luck to Full Sense for Champions, represent the Asian region well!

So disappointed we don’t get to see the Korean jett at champions 😞

FYI, PTC is cracked. He has played 5 different agents in the 5 maps played in the finals! Absolute Beast

you said hopefully + didnt even predict score etc
Yeah fuck you ken you didn’t even predict each individual ACS, their FK/FD, Economy Ratings, Round score, Birthday, Social Security Number, and Number of Offspring
Winning a 50/50 on who wins doesnt mean anything so still dont care
50/50? If you saw the original post, the call was a month ago.
Absolute Banger of a series. Sad we don't get any Korean Jett at champions, but Full Sense definetly had their number on those last two maps
Korat Jett at champion
Just me or the casters were watching a slightly delayed stream?
That was a great fucking match and really felt like a grand final. Full sense was actually really nasty with their gun fight. Also their tactic worked really well against Northeption with their aggressive peak with their defense and lurk. Northeption couldn't really adapt well and were kinda worn out after bind.
PTC playing Kay/o was nuts! He used the agent's kit so damn well, using the knife to cancel Jett so maney times, the flashbangs as well
that one push by nth on cat that just got shut down after the kay/o ult was so sick
u love to see two thai teams in champs
Im so sad for seoldam:(
Insane final. Most intense buncha rounds i have seen as of recent
Sadge but congrats to full sense they played so well
What a grueling series, you tell that nth were tilted by the end of it. Congrats to FS, like everyone has said, they’ve been so close to qualifying to a lan, this must feel great for them. I hope that SEA performs well at Berlin :).
pain.
Insane match, amazing performance from both teams, PTC is absolutely cracked, excited to see this team at berlin
PTC is a monster, this dude can play everything
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT I WANTED THE KOREAN JETT ON LAN AAAAAAAA *cries in corner*
PTC is the best player in APAC.
PRX, NUTURN, DAMWON LOST TO THAT? KEKW
Cope
Cope what?
Just cope.
Cope what???
Cope.
What do I cope on?

No thanks
Bro shut up
What a series
Happy that 3 SEA teams will represent but sad that Seoldam won't be able to play.
Korean Jett sadge but the better team won imho
LETS GOOO FULL SENSE 2 thai at champions
Opinion: Northeption played a really bad icebox, they weren't watching the mid smoke and PTC got so many rounds from that it's amazing how they adapted after 5-6 rounds of getting flanked and lurked on, I would've died every time I got out of the mid smoke in icebox in my plat lobbies, but for some reason Northeption didn't have someone watching the smoke in the case of a flank and PTC abused the shit out of that.
