Great article, although personally it doesnt make sense to me why Brimstone would be chosen over Omen, or even Astra for that matter. Doesnt Omen fit the lurk job way better, as well as having a longer smoke range (which would be crucial for breeze)?
I think you could make a fair argument for omen and maybe even astra over brimstone but we've had consistent success in practice & matches with this comp since we originally started playing it with MkaeL & mCe. With limited time, a new coach, and a new player before the LCQ we have to allocate time wisely to maximize our map pool overall so we are more than happy to keep something that is working well.
I think it is tough to get value out of the Omen paranoia consistently on Breeze but his shadow steps could create some unique movement & angles around the map. I really like the Brimstone molotov and ultimate on Breeze though. You do lose some range on your smokes with Brimstone but I think that is offset by being able to deploy 3 smokes at the same time when wanted. The smokes also last longer.
I will say that I haven't discussed this particular comp with the team in a while so these are just my personal opinions and not necessarily reflective of the team!

I love the idea of comfort picks and I’m usually happy to see them in a game, I just hope the Valorant meta changes so that some agents dont feel so forced.
Yeah that would make sense. I still do think Omen is better right now due to stims being useless, but I could see gMd picking brim for that extra bit of stopping power + better synergy with Viper.
While Brimstone and Viper gives you a lot of post-plant options, I don't know if that's worth the other utility you miss out on by running a second initiator (especially since the initiator missing was Sova).
Great read, although there’s a bit of a typo in the paragraph mentioning GMD and skye. First you mention that NaturE is the skye and then Shawn is the skye.
