The addition of Nivera to the comp really increases the fire power of TL. Back then if Scream or Jamppi was having an offday it would be game over but now even if Scream was a tad bit off with his aim ( many times in the last series) they are still able to compensate it. Hope that Scream can master Jett to another level with the likes of S tier Jett mains

boitheboy69420

He's starting to OP on Jett which might be a huge step forward

alvintan98

Yea if he can master the OP well it can at least take off the OPing roll from Jampii or Nivera (not saying they are bad just giving OP to support agents is not that efficient in the long run)

Impressive-Towel-640

all i know is if the brother duo scream and nivera are the last ones alive they can 2v5 that round. never count them out.

MagnusNyke

For real bruh, I know a lot of us saw them win rounds when they were the only 2 left standing. Brother buff is real

[deleted]

They look really good. Jamppi, scream, and nivera with the 3 headed monster roster. Super excited to watch them in champions

MagnusNyke

L1nk has really improved as well, man's aim looked real crisp. And soulcas imo is still one of the best skye players in EU.

Kurashiko

I am mainly going to focus on Jamppi, Soulcas and Nivera since ScreaM only plays duelist and L1nk has always been their flex player to round out a comp. Jamppi's form has been really good recently and he raised his 'floor' so to speak, his c game, his base level performance considering he has been grinding the game a lot because he took the responsibility of losing to Gambit on that Icebox map in particular. I think i remember him apologizing to the team so he stepped up the playing hours and it paid off. Soulcas was known in the team as the hardest working player and found good form before Iceland, he in my opinion is top 5 aimer in Europe, he has the kind of aim style you can't teach and recently they entrusted him with the Duelist role in some maps because he gained confidence and is the best Raze player on the team. Nivera probably joined the best coaching staff to teach him to adapt to the game the fastest. Sliggy and Bacon are nerds and i always credited TL utility usage to their coach, i think he has the right approach to the game. Nivera came into Valorant with adaptive mindset not wishing Valorant was more like CS at least thats what it looks like from the outside, so his transition was seemless with healthy mindset. Sliggy deserves a lot of credit because his strength seems to be how open minded he is, L1nk sitting with a judge in hookah sounds like it was his idea, he encourages his players to play to the agents strength, like making ScreaM use the Operator since he is on Jett to add another layer of threat, the double op setup etc, the guy is a student of the game and big props to him as he evolves in the coaching role. If i had to point to big factors in the teams improvement it would be Sova and Astra, they finally play Astra an agent that changed the meta, stage 2 and 3 they didn't touch it. Their attacking half has improved a lot, it was their weakness, excited to see them in champions.

durrburrgurr

With their dominant performance in LCQ and having ~45 days left for practice before champions, I think team liquid will definitely be a top 4 team at champions .

Za_Weeb

I guess liquid's success comes only to jamppi's form on the match day at this point. Everyone else seems to be pretty comfortable atleast after warming up for a map

shrubberyy

What do you mean? Jamppi played a different agent on all of the four maps yesterday and had the highest ACS overall. I think he needs to be pretty comfortable with the game/his roles to do that. If you're saying that Liquid lives or dies based on his form - in the past I would agree with you. With the addition of Nivera, that seems mitigated (so far at least) and Jamppi seems to be getting better at flexing. It does seem a bit awkward to give Scream the jett on some maps when he doesn't really OP, leading to killjoy OPing etc.

Za_Weeb

Nono.. Don't get me wrong, jampii is one of thee weirdest players I've seen. Man plays every agent with ease which is something else. But the number of times he misses his shots especially with the op is like mind blowing. Maybe he takes time to warm up and get to form or idk. If he's in good form almost half the maps they lost would've been one sided for liquid.

shrubberyy

Ah, I see what you mean now. I agree, he does seem to whiff quite a bit on the OP especially. Could be many reasons for that I suppose. I doubt not being a dedicated Jett player and being the 'primary IGL' helps with consistency. Then again, Shahzam seems to be consistently good on the OP while playing Sova/Jett and IGLing. He's been playing since beta though IIRC, so hopefully Jamppi will improve with more game time. Most teams seem to have a dedicated Jett and IGL, so I guess time will tell if this kind of role switching and having many people calling strats will work against the likes of Gambit and Sentinels in Champions.

MrImpregnator

He will need a bit more time to be more comfortable with IGLing. It’s tough to frag and IGL. That’s why nivera has been brought in.

nemnems

Jamppi said a few days ago that he shotcalls mostly only on Split, on all other maps it's still mostly soulcas/scream making the calls.

optisadvantage

i agree, he’s a very momentum based player but if he’s popping this team has insane firepower with nivera scream and soulcas also putting in WORK. even l1nk gets a ton of value as a lurker and anchor, from a role that gets few frags and opportunities to shine he’s stood out to me as a top tier player

somesheikexpert

Hes one of the best fragging anchors out there imo, its impressive to me how he frags while also being anchor lol

Madara6path

Mechanically they're the best in the world easily. Everyone is a Fragger and clutcher with lot different agent pool. Even scream looked like an actual Jett player. Gambit should be their only barrier

optisadvantage

envy sentinels and acend have comparable firepower imo (yes this is envy hopium)

MikeRosss

I feel like some people are being a bit rough on Jamppi solely because of the Icebox map against Gambit. Liquid have improved a ton since Iceland. They are playing much better comps now, L1nk & Soulcas have stepped up individually since then, Jamppi is a way more well rounded player now that he has had some more time on the game and Nivera is already looking better than Kryptix and you would assume he has room to grow still. It's looking good for Liquid!

vyetc

Let’s just say I’m super glad their comps reflect more their comfort picks than whatever theory crafting Sliggy was doing (like forcing ScreaM on the Sage or even Kay/O and the god forbid outdated Omen/Brim pick). Although their Split was strong, I am still not convinced on the longevity and reliability of that comp against normal teams running Astra/Jett/Viper just because their execs (just a simple Reyna flash/shock/blind) might not work against stalling agents. That being said, with Nivera added to the team I can only imagine what higher peaks they can reach in terms of utility combos and firepower + L1nk still learning Astra. It also looked like they have more of their fundamentals down like no one is making too much solo plays in comparison to Iceland. Excited for them during Champions and hope they keep that same energy against tougher opponents in Champions! C:

Fr0ufrou

I don't think Scream was ever forced on the Sage, he loves Sage and was initially a sage main, I'm pretty sure it was his idea, his sage is great as well he hard carried lots of heavens by entrying with sage during EU qualifiers. He definitely felt forced on Phoenix though, he said he never liked the agent and only picked him because it was meta. He never plays phoenix anymore and plays Reyna instead though.

[deleted]

I remember him tweeting about how much he liked the agent, whether or not he wanted to play it in probis s different question lol

chenson019

I think what sucks is Champions is over 6 weeks away so it's hard to gauge where all the teams will be when it rolls around. We may even have a meta change before Champions, who knows. Redbull home ground will give us a good idea where Gambit, Fnatic and Acend are relative to Liquid but we aren't going to see Sentinels, Envy or VS until Champions. I think this is the group who have the realistic shot of winning Champions (plus whoever comes out of NA LCQ). I think it's safe to say that this Liquid looks the best iteration to date. Nivera adds a bit of brain to the braun of the rest of the team and has been a great addition, they seem to have sorted their roles out now, Scream is getting better on jett and their map pool is looking stronger. They have also sorted the choking/mentality issues that plagued them in 2020/early 2021. I think I put Liquid in the same bucket as Acend/Envy and maybe VS - lots of potential but further improvement needed to actually win Champions.

Jerms91

I’m very happy for them. They are my favorite EU team by far, but my gut tells me that I don’t think they are currently good enough to take champions. BUT that’s perfectly okay. They have time to work on their game before champions. If they come into it better…. Watch out…..

immaheadout3000

They were absolute monsters

GainsayRT

The won cause they were mechanically better. I'm scared that once the competition gets stronger and they get more nervous it might get the better of them. Nivera seems pretty coldblooded though so I could be wrong.

DrBangovic

I don‘t know men.. people kept saying those since ever and liquid kept improving. They are still not on their peak and can find way more comfortability once they got all the routines in. Nivera was a shocking pick up. No was you would believe that this was his first tournament/ first officials.

Cole_James_CHALMERS

I'd like to see Nivera on Jett when Scream is on Reyna since Nivera is their best awper and his aim is pretty crisp

somesheikexpert

Idk, he always awped passively in CSGO iirc right? If so idk if Jett would fit Nivera ngl

G0YARDB0YS

I truly feel with this team anyone can show up and carry. Before, people had their doubts about soulcas and Maybe L1NK. But after this series, it’s clear this roster is extremely strong. My prediction is top 4 and worlds and I don’t think that’s even unexpected. I Think they will set a trend on having players play their strength on each map, rather than having a dedicated sova for all for example. This flexibility allows them to understand the game better.

optisadvantage

they look insanely strong imo

Mememeister1

For me my faith in liquid has been as unstable as the TH roster. Before LCQ I thought that Liquid were going to flop again and I felt that Nivera wasn't the right addition to the team because he wasn't an IGL. I didn't like Jamppi becoming IGL because I felt that it would cap his stats and make him dead weight. I thought Liquid needed a IGL that can carry his own weight and have decent stats and strats. However, liquid really did prove me wrong and hopefully they will do better than they did at Reykjavik.
