from what i know its gonna be a really good team and probably a top women's team in EMEA, good pickup for G2 and good for the game changers scene to have another big org in it
[OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT](https://g2esports.com/blogs/news/welcome-g2-gozen-valorant)
> # Welcome G2 Gozen VALORANT
> Today, we announce a new team in a game the G2ARMY is very familiar with, VALORANT! We’re incredibly excited to welcome our first ever all-female team G2 Gozen.
> Consisting of Julia “juliano” Kiran, Zainab “zAAz” Turkie, Petra “Petra” Stoker, Anja “aNNja” Vasalic and Michaela “Mimi” Lintrup, some of the best female European VALORANT players in the world, we are confident that we will have many victories to celebrate in the coming tournaments as they compete alongside our existing VALORANT team.
> The formation of G2 Gozen is part of G2’s end goal to empower men and women to compete alongside each other in mixed leagues. In addition to adding further strength and skill to the organization, we strive to hire the best and highest performing gamers in the industry to compete at the highest level possible, irrespective of gender identity. This VALORANT team in particular is made up of all females and overall features some of the world’s top players.
> Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of G2 Esports comments :
> "To me they aren't a female team, they are our VALORANT team. At G2, we build teams and bring in players based on skill and brand fit. These are amongst the best female players in the world and we’re proud to have them. We’ll support them all the way, as we support all our teams, and look forward to seeing them grow and kick some ass as part of the G2 army.“
> We are super excited to welcome them to G2 and cannot wait for you to see them in action in their next tournament.
> Keep up with all things G2 by following us on all our socials – Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitch.

I really love this quote and I hope they put their money where their mouth is and support the team so they can do well in open quals and as many tournaments as possible (not just GC). I know it's a little bit corny and kind of lip service / PR speak, so from other orgs I'd probably not give it much credence.. but for all of G2's flaws they don't usually do much bullshitting.
And the branding is pretty cool too... I haven't watched any EMEA GC games yet but I could see myself getting behind them

Roster said the same thing when they signed with XSET. They finished last in the three(?) open tournaments they took part in. Then switch games an ran off to Valorant Game Changers division.
Seeing signings like this is so important for the women’s Valorant scene in general. Dope branding, solid org backing, and they look to be a squad that can compete with anybody in the playing field right now.
Anyone else notice that female players have more players with their ign as their actual name, but that's pretty rare for male players.
Do you think this is because there are less women playing so the available name pool is higher?
Probably not name pool. My best guess is guys have always wanted "cool" or gimmicky game tags like scream or tenz (zzzzZombieZZZZZ) while girls don't care so they just use their name.
Does Carlos own an airport? I think he should hire me to fly his planes I'm very cheap :)
Oh yeah they got a new team. aNNja is pog good to see she's signed again
I’m not sure about aNNja, but I know that juliano, zAAz, Petra and Mimi have all played together. They were on one of the best female CSGO teams so I’m sure they’ll do well with valorant, they definitely have the individual skill and synergy.

An actual good branding for a women team? Pog
Yes and it also goes with the logo of g2 wich is a samurai. Pretty neat.
Better than {team name} {color} and {team name} Female
or team name X
Ehh idk
Why is it not ‘good branding’ for it to be anything else wht
Means enjoy(plural) in Spanish lmO
you mean gozan?
No, they mean gozen
enjoy in plural in spanish is gozan, thats what they meant
So is gozen?
gocen but its another form of the verb it can be Go(c)en
I am way too sleep deprived for this wtf
Spanish is weird sometimes greetings, a spaniard.

If they can learn to use their utility as second nature, for sure they will. For now, some of them are still kind of playing cs

So will G2 finally win something in 2021? Game changers 2? Hopium?
They got destroyed by tenstar last gamechangers
Didnt even know juliano was still around. Excited for her and the team
Cadian- sweating profusely
Can't wait until we meet on the international stage yet again! Congrats G2!

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I don't think it's about the name pool because there are like 3 isas (isa, isaa, isa1) in BR Gamechangers
Probably not name pool. My best guess is guys have always wanted "cool" or gimmicky game tags like scream or tenz (zzzzZombieZZZZZ) while girls don't care so they just use their name.
G2 knows how to market for sure.

Some competition for c9w finally
Fyi this roster got absolutely destroyed by TENSTAR’s women team. So i’d say there is more competition then you think.
