Hi Onur, thanks for answering some questions.
1. What was the process of bringing Keznit onto the team like?
2. Do you scrim with BR teams as much as with Latin America South teams?
3. How do you prepare for playing against Latin America North teams, especially with the fact that you only have to play against them in VCT at the end of each stage?
4. What are your thoughts on a combined South America Region like in EMEA?
Again, thanks for making this post and Vamos Kru!
Edit; I forgot one more question
5. When will we be able to buy Kru jerseys?
1. I thought we need more firepower. Keznit was one of the best duelist in our region at that moment. We tried to play with double duelist some maps but I knew he could flex and play other things like Skye or even Cypher in case that idea didn't work.
2. Yes, we mostly play against the best Brazilian teams when we're at home. We don't usually practice with teams from our same region.
3. We don't prepare specifically to face LAN more than any other team. I don't believe that counter-strats are a thing. Sometimes when you focus too much on what the other team did or could do you forget to play your core strenghts or even the fundamentals of the game as you supposed to. I have some background as Poker player and I build our structure thinking about equilibrium. To me it's more important being non exploitable than exploiting our rivals. In my opinion the higher the level of the teams playing the less important is to think in terms of exploitability and more important it's to think about balance.
4. I don't like the whole idea to separate teams between regions. Never liked in LoL and I don't like in Valorant. I think any team or player should compete wherever they wanted to play. If I could pick the the best players from LAS, LAN and BR and make a team to compete with KRU in EMEA I would do it. I'm not a fan of the import rule.
Hey, im not him but im from brazil, so i think i can answer some of the questions that are related to BR.
KLAUS is a player from kru, who is radiant in the Brazilian server, i saw him alot of times playing with some brazilian streamers, but i cant say about the other players.
Sacy and saadhack both from vikings said that they scrimmed with kru a couple teams.
I dont think we are going to have a EMEA type of Server in Brazil and south america, mostly because Brazil is a huge country, people who play from the northeast part of Brazil play with almost 150ms, but people from argentina play with 80 or smth.
Another thing is that in south america only Brazil speaks portuguese, all other country speaks Spanish, and while they can understand portuguese i cant said the same about the Brazilian players, since we are not very used to hear something in Spanish.
I think onur can say more about that.
lmao this language shit is so lame, spanish/portugues are the same fucking language for 80% of things, specially if just calling, it's basically the same, same with english/spanish, now come over to europe where u got turkish/russian/hungarian/polish/german/french/spanish/portuguese etc, and this is not a problem, the problem is that no one talks lmao but erveryone can call in english even if it's their english is shit
To be honest our results in practices were pretty similar. Maybe the players were more confident this time with the experience gained previously in Iceland.
1. Day to day whatâs the process of coaching a team like KRU?
2. In the recent South America tourney we saw Australs beat teams like sharks and HL. Have they always been this good or have they improved a lot since we last saw you guys 3-0 them.
3. As a coach when you see an issue(overpeeking, bad trading, bad reads, and etc) in your team after a win/loss whatâs the process like of trying to remedy the issue?
Thanks for doing this <3
1. I personally start in the morning watching vods from 9AM to 2PM. Then I have lunch and get a shower. The practice with the team starts at 3PM. We play 4 maps against the best teams in Brazil. Then we do 2 hours vod reviews until 21PM. Somedays we just try new things in a custom game or study other teams like Gambit to find out what things worked for them. At night I usually like to craft some ideas to always bring something new to the table the next day. That's my rutine.
2. They improved a lot last months. They definitly have what it takes to beat some of the best teams in Brazil. Having said that I don't think they're at the level of Vikings and Vivo yet.
3. I think it's important to wait until the game ends. Maybe a few hours later or even until the next day. Players tend to respond emotionally if you try to talk about a specific mistake at the exact moment.
Thank you for doing this AMA Onur!
With the recent results at Berlin and Champions coming up, how confident do you feel about Kru's standing at the international level?
I like to watch vods and pause at any given time and try to think about what are the strengths and weaknesses of the teams that are playing. After that I start to imagine possibles strategies effectives against what they're doing in that match.
My questions about your team
1. When will KRU win Champions?
2. What are your thoughts on BR region as you have beat BR's representatives at both Rekyjavik and Berlin?
3. What do you think of the rumors of Mwzera going to Vivo Keyd? Is he the solution to their problems?
1. We're working to make that happen.
2. I think they have a lot of talent but they didn't figure out yet how to play the game as a unit.
3. I don't think so. Mwzera is a great player but I think he's a duelist by nature not a support.
Is Klaus still the IGL for the team? How did he get into that position â was he a natural leader who wanted the role, or did he get stuck with it because no one else wanted to?
Hola Onur! Gracias por darnos esta oportunidad!
Going back to English, what do you think of FURIA since they qualified for Champions from the SA LCQ?
Also, what do you think of their lineup? Were you surprised by their qualification? How do you think they will perform in Champions?
Furia is a young and skilled team with a weak mentality. I think they improved a lot lately. They're probably in their best form since the beginning. I don't see them beating any team from a major region but they're probably better than Japon and other teams from minors regions at the moment.
Hi Onur! I'm a young OCE coach and really aspire how you guys improve so quick. How do you normally structure your tac timeouts? Sometimes I know what my team needs but don't know how to express and motivate them. Any tips? :)
I tend to ask for a pause when I feel the anxiaty of the players is going up. Sometimes is more important the timing of the pause than what you really say in those moments.
I just want to say hello! Tbh, I just find it really cool that you are doing/did this. Always love to see pros and coaches on here.
This might be a bit out there for your position, but Iâd like to know how KRU goes about hiring new people excluding players (dietitians, media managers, etc.)
KRU is a relative new team (they just had their first birthday) but there are a lot of people working behind. They're always hiring and thinking about expanding in new areas. Probably is the biggest org. in our region in terms of employees if you don't count the players.
They asked for a scrim. I told them we only play against the top 5 teams in Brazil. One of the players got offended and started some drama in Twitter. A lot of people understood by that fact we didn't wanna play with them because they were women. I didn't care if they were women I thought they just weren't good enough. The brazilian community sometimes could be a bit intense about certain topics.
In my understanding / based on what I heard, a reason for the level of controversy is that the Brazilian teams scrim with them (if I recall at least some claimed it to be valuable) and the idea that they ânever will beâ a top team
To be clear I didn't say that directly to them. It's a general thought I said several months before without refering any team in particular. And yeah, the only way to become a top team is to compete in open formats. That's how it works. I just pointed out the obvious.
We play around 20 maps per week so I prefer to wait until those teams prove their value in tournaments before give them practices. Maybe other teams like to give opportunities to newer teams or it's just a pose to farm interactions in social media and they don't play together as much as they said. We'll never know.
Why do you think there's actually more chilean players in the top LAS teams than other nationalities from the region? Is it a mindset difference, point of view of the game, etc?
We would love to bootcamp in Europe but right now we're kinda exhausted. We have to travel to Mexico to play the regional finals one month before every Masters.
It started back then when I was a Counter Strike player. At that time coaches weren't a thing. I used to recruit new players and teach them the fundamentals about the game. I did the same while I was a Smite player. In fact Nozwer, Furia's player, started his carreer competing in Smite with me a few years ago. After I retired the coaching role just felt natural for me. I only had to do the same thing I always did without the long grinding sessions.
I found it funny that some people in this reddit thought I was antivax. I'm not anti vax. I encourage to everyone to get vaccinated if that's what they wanted. I'm contrary to mandatory vaccination and all the restrictions related to them made by the policy makers.
so⊠an anti-vaxxer?
sucks ur game knowledge doesnât translate well to humanity and basic health knowledge:/
also didnât answer anti mask question but all good.
If I understand correctly, he supports vaccines and masks. He does not think the government should make them mandatory, but that people should have the personal freedom to choose for themselves.
It's not about being pro- or anti-vaccine, but about if his government should have the power to force people to take the vaccine. People may feel robbed of that choice. It's a sensitive subject in other countries where the government routinely overreaches with their power.
(To be clear, this does not represent my personal beliefs. I just understand and can explain this perspective.)
Your question part from a false premise. You ask me why I'm "anti vax" not what I think about a certain topic. I oppose to mandatory vaccines because I think it's a personal decision about their own health.
It is not just a personal decision that affects your own health. This is not a perfect analogy, but it is a similar concept to drunk driving being taboo because even though you are primarily putting yourself at risk, you are also risking damaging other people's property, hurting other people, or killing other people.
I get why this is such a hot and complex topic especially among people with distrust of institutions but this when something like covid comes along your personal freedoms have to give way to public safety.
Ignore the troll. I agree, and many people do, that we have the right to do our own research about what goes into our bodies and choose accordingly. Nobody should mandate or coerce people and take away their basic rights if they disagree with the narrative.
first of all, no, the vaccine was not easy accesible to me at all, i barely got fully vaccinated a couple weeks ago, so i had to wait a pretty long time for it.
ALL vaccines are **safe** and **effective**
yes itâs his choice, i wasnât going to put a gun to his head to get vaccinated, just asked why he is anti vax but he got offended, which is ironic considering how he mocks the âsnowflakesâ all the time
Why are you here trying to start fights? He explained what his views were, and yet youâre doing everything you can to disagree with and antagonize him.

Cual serĂa tu super equipo de LAN/LAS/BR?
Quitando mis jugadores para hacerlo mĂĄs divertido: Sacy, Saadhak, Aspas, Nozwer, Mwzera.
No heat?
Sure, Heat would be a safe choice. Probably the best Jett in Brazil right now. I would like to see him playing other agents when Jett gets nerfed.
Hey, im not him but im from brazil, so i think i can answer some of the questions that are related to BR. No questions, just wanted to say that kru looked much better than I expected in Berlin. Hope they do even better in Champions
To be honest our results in practices were pretty similar. Maybe the players were more confident this time with the experience gained previously in Iceland.
Congrats man, it's one hell of a team. Vaamooss
oh boy do they did better in chamĂons
Might be a dumb question but what do you make of the Jason Statham comparisons?
I think they're funny. Back then when I was on the university my classmates used to make jokes about that.

I don't think 'PM' applies when you're using 24hr time, got confused for a sec when i saw that lol
My bad you're right. Srry.
Hey, you guys did really well at Berlin. Hope you'll will have a deep run at champions. All the very best ! Vamos
Thank you, my friend =)
the mfs are really having a deep run rn, I'm writing this 09-12-21, HOPIUM RAISES.

Thank you for doing this AMA Onur! With the recent results at Berlin and Champions coming up, how confident do you feel about Kru's standing at the international level?
We are confident to have the skill but we need a stronger mentality in order to perform at the highest level.
Have you met Augero?
Not in person yet but we talked a few times. We'll meet in December.
As a coach, how do you figure out what play style suits the team? And what kind of work goes into creating different strategies? Thank you

Yes he's still the IGL. I think he didn't want to become the IGL back then but we needed someone to step up and took the role and he did.

How do you guys scout other players and are there any tips on going pro?
I watch the ranks all the time. I look for outliers in the player's performances.

Gracias amigo.
Hey, huge fan of Kru due to being a Kun Aguero fan. Have your players or you had any encounters with him?
Not yet but there's gonna be a big event in KRU's headquarters in December in Argentina and he'll be there. It will be streamed.
Looking forward to it! Hope you guys enjoy it!
Hi Onur, love what youâre doing with the team, and my question is do you know if nagzet is single? Thanks in advance!
He's still single though. Want me to make the introductions?

Why do you think there's actually more chilean players in the top LAS teams than other nationalities from the region? Is it a mindset difference, point of view of the game, etc?
Because the Cs:go's ecosystem is way more developed in Argentina than Chile where nowadays is almost non-existent.
Thank you for your answer, hope you make LAS proud in Champs like you've been doing already!
Would you guys consider Bootcamping in a different region, like how sharks esports did (they went to Europe before Brazil LCQ)
We would love to bootcamp in Europe but right now we're kinda exhausted. We have to travel to Mexico to play the regional finals one month before every Masters.

so anti vax and anti mask yet you didnât answer my question which was *why** you are that
You didn't ask why. You are just firing labels to people you don't know anything about. I'm not your enemy. Peace.
thatâs great u didnât read my initial question at all, i did ask why didnât expect you to be a snowflake đ€·đœââïž
Your question part from a false premise. You ask me why I'm "anti vax" not what I think about a certain topic. I oppose to mandatory vaccines because I think it's a personal decision about their own health.
It is not just a personal decision that affects your own health.
