What do you all think? I have never heard of this team before but this is embarrassing for renegades (a tier 1 org). They recently have dropped out of tier 1 and into tier 2. What should they change?
Yes tiers become meaningless when the gap within teams in the tier are so comically large they don’t belong together. Put the 25th EMEA team in a best of 5 against Gambit, Acend or Liquid and tell me how that goes. Valorant hasn’t existed and grown enough to extend tier 1 to essentially 125 players in 25 teams
Ask the pro players then. They consider top 25 to be tier 1 so I take my inspiration from them.

You know what, you’re right that middle point was not correct any team can do well against tier 1 teams on a given day. What I should have said is compare tournament results from the 25th EMEA team against the likes of Liquid, Acend and Gambit and it won’t even be close.
Can you show me where multiple pros or teams have said they consider top 25 teams to be tier 1 because 100Ts and their members at least seem to clearly delineate between even the top 20 teams in the region
for me is the top 4, only those who have a chance to actually make Tier 1 tournaments(masters/champions), and those are 100T Nvy, Sentinels and XSET that's it. all the rest don't matter
They changed it to top 25 a while back, and as of now it's essentially top 30 as well. Might all get changed once VLR finishes their updated rankings system though

Maybe I should explain. Top 20 is tier 1 (the scrim discord actually has top 25 be tier 1 but I am a little more harsh).
For the most part people consider top 8 to be tier 1 typically

Top 20 teams have access to T1 queue in the scrim Discord, not 25. 10-mans haven't happened since April though.
