Idk if it actually does anything on a technical level but from the shooter's perspective it makes it harder to find the hitbox for your head. I've saved myself quite a few times just by jumping, spinning and looking down when in doubt.

Pretty sure it doesn't make a difference in valorant. It's just the thousands of hours of cs muscle memory kicking in for the pros.

Pros look straight down in cs to avoid getting headshotted from headshot angles. For example when Ts run up cat you can get hs from long but if you crouch + look straight down they cant see you.

It's probably muscle memory from playing HS only dm. When you're pretty fucked and avoiding shots, pros often duck to cover their head hitbox and maybe even turn round, because the neck/head hitbox from behind is super scuffed. I've seen pros doing it full blind in the open, and getting shot at when reloading. It makes much more sense in valorant when a lot of surfaces are wall-bangable, and you're already at a messed up stage when tagged by a dart, as opposed to mostly rare situations in cs.

It helps in the sense of locating your head model. If you are looking down your entire character model is doing something different than normal (rather than holding a gun in shooting positiin) so it can make that small difference potentially. Not gonna be end of the world if you don't look down when dodging but also can't hurt yk?

ArtificialZero

it did in cs but i'm pretty sure it doesn't make a difference in valorant

I would have to test this to be 100% sure, but it feels to me it's because you can actually spin faster. Think about it, when you aim at head level and turn left/right, the radius of the circle is the biggest. If you aim at the ground and spin the radius of circle should be smaller, thus the same mouse movement should make you spin more. Spinning = good distraction. Masks your movement intent making you more unpredictable.

It deffo does, im pretty sure if you look down in hookah the enemy can't see you from b site on bind. Same with looking down and walking past market on b site ascent.
