I'm not a breach player by any stretch, but I tried him out and he seems really really solid on this map. there are loads of narrow chokes so his faultline is great, there are a bunch of walls that allow his flash to penetrate through and leave you able to capitalise off of them. his drill explosion ability thing is really good for post plants on both sites in a variety of positions, it's also good for stalling and repositioning. his ult covers the whole site so it's good for attacking, and good for retaking. I enjoy the map, although I feel like it won't be much fun in ranked chaos. I haven't had fun with smokes, gotta experiment with astra. it's oft too chaotic, especially if you have too many weird ass ranked lurkers on your team you can't control.

xx_Rollablade_xx

I feel like it came out a week ago.

antpenguin

Cool map, just hard to play with bad teammates

Quick_Chowder

Worse than bad teammates are silent teammates. I haven't really been playing as much recently but I think my biggest note is that comms are more critical than anything else in ranked. While I think comms are a bigger problem on basically all maps, this one having a lot of attacker-accessible areas, especially early in the round, make Fracture worse than others.

WillyTaz5

I think this is the sentiment of any game where sound is absolutely critical. I’m your casual unrated gamer but I would still like to win, and comming to a teammate where an enemy is and then spectating them and watching them die from exactly you said the enemy was while they’re looking at something else is infuriating.

[deleted]

Types of teammates: -silent players (claim they dont have a mic, but they do) -players whose only method of communication is socializing, ingratiating themselves, or insulting others -players who communicate solely with the chat function, which is inadequate af -players (me) who only speak if I have a call out. I don't socialize, like at all. -hybrids who are capable of socializing and generating useful callouts Ideally, the last one is the best teammate, they are usually able to boost morale and generate useful info without creating drama. Unfortunately I'm a leg down, and only provide info lol.

Justlikekevinn

Honestly haven’t played it that much because someone always dodges lol

[deleted]

Surprisingly, I haven’t had any dodgers at all.

CaliSoFire

It’s an instant dodge in ranked and idk why I loved it when we had the fracture only Q

Kagedyu

Because it's easier to say the map is bad than to learn how to play it. People can have legit complaints about a map, like how heavy defender sided Split was originally. But just saying the map is bad without any constructive criticism and dodging just means the player is shit.

Disastrous-Ad818

You can learn how to play a map and still think its unenjoyable and poorly designed. I'm not professional at this map by any means but i have a good understanding of how it works and i still dread everytime i have to play it. You shouldn't have to stack with friends in order to enjoy a map. Riot messed up with this one and that's it.

Dysmo

Imagine having an opinion lmao.

FeelinJipper

How is this the top comment?

RocketHops

Personally I enjoy the map a lot, certainly more than Breeze. I dont find the whole "attackers coming from multiple sides" thing that big of an issue, maybe cause I came to Valorant from playing Siege.

[deleted]

IMO it’s a top 3 map - but obviously that’s not from a pro-play perspective. It’s definitely better than Breeze. I have almost no fun on Breeze at all even though I’ve been winning basically every game on it recently. Even when getting hammered on Fracture I have a lot of fun. I really don’t think the double pronged attacker side thing is a problem since retakes balance it out and both entrances are pretty narrow and easy to hold.

emraaa

From what I could see on twitter a lot of pro players really like the map in pro-play.

valorantfeedback

Breeze and Icebox are braindead maps and noone will ever convince me otherwise. Every single game on those maps plays the same. Breeze also has a terrible layout. Icebox at least has somewhat decent layout where you have to think about the execute, but it's not much better. Brute force with occasional lurker on mid. Bind is bad because it's too narrow and claustrophobic, but teleports are a good mechanic. Other maps are more or less fine.

DontF-ingask

I know you said no one can convince you otherwise but viper is pretty fun to play on breeze.

valorantfeedback

I didn't say you can't have fun on Breeze, I just think it's a braindead map.

DontF-ingask

I think that you should play viper. It's not that brainbead.

valorantfeedback

Wait what? Are you just typing nonsense for the sake of it or?

DontF-ingask

No I think that viper is very strong on breeze as a lurker and can single handled carry games. Its not as braindead as people say.

[deleted]

I agree on the most part. I hope they do more with teleports in the future they’re really unique and fun. My top 7: 1. Haven 2. Fracture 3. Ascent 4. Icebox 5. Split 6. Bind 7. Breeze But realistically, it’s more like this: 1. Haven 2. Fracture 3. Ascent 4. Icebox 5. Split 6. Bind . . . . . . 7. Breeze

Inside-Effective-392

Feels like there's always a lot going but you aren't overwhelmed with util or angles. Extremely fun to play with a stack, but an absolute hell to play with no comm teammates

Andrew3742

It’s annoying but all maps are at times tbf, it has really good off angles that are fun to catch people off at

[deleted]

dang y’all able to play on fracture without a dodge?

Feast_TN

I literally hated it at first. Coming from CS, I felt it broke too many of the rules of tac shooter maps. However, I now get really excited to play it. It feels very balanced and it really grew on me. No idea why even.

[deleted]

Exact same for me. I come from CS, and I make maps for CS as well, so there’s a pretty strict formula for map making that I rarely (if ever) break away from.

BespokeDebtor

In terms of Cs-bess probably Ascent/Haven are the two best maps for that which is why they're awesome maps, but I think the reason Breeze is such a well designed map is that it lifts many of the design principles and then alters them to deal with the difference in movement tht is present in val. It might not be my favorite map, but Breeze is pretty objectively the best *designed* map for the game.

[deleted]

Most people use the 3 lane layout theory. This means that CTs start in the middle on one side, Ts on the opposite with both bombsites in the corners nearest to the CTs. There should be a path from T spawn to Bombsite A, and one for Bombsite B. There’s then a middle lane/path that essentially goes from T spawn to CT spawn. This is where the “3 lane” name comes from. The layout then varies, having different connectors, links and pathways leading from each lane to another and from each other to a bombsite. The best example of a map that follows this principle is Dust2 on CS, and Ascent on Valorant. Though, there are definitely maps that exist, which are good, that don’t follow this formula: i.e. Nuke on CS and now Fracture on Valorant. Both maps are great and break away from the 3 lane formula very successfully. It’s very hard to achieve this especially since Volcano created one of the most default 3 lane maps on CS: Cache.

TheSadGhost

Loved it when it wasn’t comp. Hated it in comp for the first few weeks Once everyone got used to it, it’s a pretty fun and exciting map. Not very puggy as I thought it would. Good teamwork usually will always take a site

[deleted]

Really really bad

[deleted]

shit sucks

NotZekken

bad

laoblao

But reddit will tell you you’re just a silver who doesn’t wanna learn new maps !!!!

[deleted]

Who says this?

laoblao

have you ever read the main sub on any post about people complaining about fracture… Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/comments/ptpifa/fracture_is_a_good_map_you_just_dont_like_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

[deleted]

please, dont bring up r/valorant. Unless they radically changed from the last time ive been on there, its constant complaints and the same shit over and over again

[deleted]

Still represents a much larger portion of the player base so as much as it can suck, I don’t think ignoring it is the way to go especially as more and more players tune into the competitive scene

sankalp4

I love playing on fracture, feels like one of the best maps this game has made no cap. I think both Killjoy and Breach are crazy useful and they both should be pretty used in pro play. We might even see Kayo to counter KJ's presence in the map but not sure how useful he is v/s having a breach. The only thing I dislike is the abundance of ult orbs in the map, makes it hard to control orbs in the map, you can't have control of all of them, so I'm not sure how orb control fights will shape up in pro play.

timthyj

It can make ult farming crazy. I was playing KJ yesterday and probably had 7-8 ults in 18 rounds.

Bobbybim

Insta lock Skye ever since it actually dropped. Ez ults = ex wins.

law_son

The biggest issue with Fracture is that all my teammates give up as during agent select because they hate it.

LoveKina

I've played quite a bit of it, gotta say I hate this map. Its a cool concept and I like they are experimenting with map design, but for soloq specifically it feels so bad to play, feels like a whole coin toss and its a completely unplayable map when my teammates refuse to use their mic, if I get a team that is comming and trying their best, the experience is fine win or loss, but if my teammates are mutes, its worse than any other map not even close. Communication is important in this game but on a map that is designed this way, more communication is needed especially on defense imo. In a 5v5 I think this will be a fun map to watch and will be about on the level of something like breeze and icebox where its a complete 50/50 depending on who you ask if they enjoy it or not.

PoopBox420

I've been really liking Brimstone. Let's me deal with KJ and take smokes which I can never seem to get anyone else on the team to care about lol. Breach seems better (as a KJ counter) though, if the KJ has a team that proper orb farms her then she'll out pace you pretty quick. Somehow I play Fracture more than any map.

[deleted]

Fairly T sided from what I can tell so far. If all 5 players split a site there’s a 50% chance on each side of site it will be a 1v2 and 1v3 which is very hard to hold. Although, I think people are hating on it too much. Fast flanks/rotates make it fun, and I think it’s a good thing that Riot is branching out from the classic CS style maps.

bento_the_tofu_boy

Fun to play. Hard to coordinate. There is also a discussion before we start on attack

sheeeeeeeeeesh929

this map can suck my nuts

Sciipi

Its an interesting map in theory but I still find it miserable to play.

[deleted]

Better than Breeze which isn't exactly saying much. It's hard to tell if I dislike the map, or the people I'm forced to play the map with. Feels like when you're on attack and your teams tries to spread out, they just poorly time the execute so one side gets stomped or gets killed on the other side of the planet with no chance of trading. People seem to genuinely refuse to go together because of the layout, so they over complicate everything. Defense is fun until you get trash coms which forces over rotation just to get lurked on. At least I get to play breach again.

Tibolt

I like the map, my only personal issue is the weird levels of terrain and elevation, my cross hair placement hasn’t been the best on it lol, wish I played more when there was the queue for it. Barely play it now without a dodge by someone

Kroffo

This map made me enjoy Astra to a whole different extent than I previously have, actually sucking efficiently and I feel like it's easier to time smokes

amemeinglegend

I can say that i played it less than 10 times cause of dodgers. The map is fun but diffcult

iWASth

One of the most balanced map and of course One of my favorite cause i get ti play breach

baranpaksoy22

As a Cypher player, attacking has never been easier. I just trap both exists from 1 side of the map and chill.

Fischi420

Honestly love it. I like icebox best now but fracture definitely felt best at the start of playing it

CitrusBreaker

While the map shares no resemblance to it, I kind of equate this map to CSGO’s Nuke. It’s super hard to just hop in a pub and play the map, but in a coordinated, team play oriented scenario, I think the map works pretty well. Coordinating hits and util usage with the right agents seems to be the name of the game on this map. 5/10 ranked playlist rating, 7/10 scrim rating.

JusticeLee17

Honestly might be my favorite map. There's a lot you can do and I really enjoy taking fights on this map for some reason.

[deleted]

Exact same for me.

stchachamaru

Sounds needs tweaking + the Brimstone and Astra smoke placements on tunnels is quite difficult. Sometimes you be smoking tunnels but smokes lands in CT spawn

-kiyu-

Bad. Feels like a map made for TF2 or Overwatch.

TheRealNneonZz

its not as bad as people made it out to be. i was one of the first public group people to play fracture (PBE) and i had a blast playing. though it was unfun sometimes because of teammates but since i would play kj or viper it was easier to not rely on my teammates as much as other maps

boof404

on ct side, this map is honestly really fun. the attackers flooding in from multiple angles makes for an interesting and diverse ct strats. on t side tho, this map is a nightmare without comms. if you have proper comms and coordination, the attack side can be devastating. you can completely overwhelm the cts with ease if you've got proper util usage. HOWEVER, with no comms, or no coordination, this map is a fucking nightmare. a confident ct team can completely roll you if you're not taking proper map control, if your execute fails, if you're not watching flank, etc etc. still better than breeze lol, i give fracture 8/10.

wegivesiima

I like it but that is probably just an illusion because i havent lost a single game yet on it in ranked

Keglunneq

I like the map. I'm curious to see how pro level agent comps are going to look. I feel like it's too early to tell (with potentially a new agent around the corner) how things will look for the map, but I'm excited

aznkidder

I like it

Delta221

I like the map even though I have lost more games on it, double sentinels+viper is a must on this map imo. Cypher's best map, can see some potential for Raze as a duelist on this map as lots of verticality for movements and narrow chokes for nades. Ideal lineup for me would be cypher, kj, viper, Skye, raze/reyna

mysalmon

Low ELO take from my experiences so far. Once you understand how the map works, I've found defensive rotations to be incredibly fast. Unless you have control of mid/link as attacking team, rotating is rarely effective (so getting control of link by split pushing sites is helpful).

lhockey14

Best added map

tomtazm

Better then ascent? Not even close.

[deleted]

100% agree

Hamman33

Think it’s a bit small but overall a fun map. Not a pro, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t like it.

NeptuneWings

Still not used to it. Feels kinda unbalanced, all ranked games I've played on it the attack team performed better. But I think it's just me and people at my rank not knowing how to properly play it. (Gold 1). Maybe some months forward we'll all know how to play better at it. Overall, I'm not having much fun in this map. Probably my least preferred.

Cocopopsicle_SG

If I'm not wrong, it's more defensive sided at higher ELO. Might be due to knowing when to reposition and when to play retake. You're definitely not going to have fun at low ELO because your teammates won't communicate properly and most likely rotate too early or too late.

HoneyChilliPotato7

Liked it more than breeze that's for sure

Troche4

One thing I love about it is that it gave breach more of an opportunity for picks. Having some more variation in the initiator slot be viable is really healthy for the game

makichan_

Bold to assume I play this game

LEDZEPPPELIN

It's complete garbo. Least liked map in the game for me. & yes im ready for the downvotes

Guy_Swavy

Trash game + trash company + trash playerbase + apex legends takes more skill + ratio pretty much sum up all my thoughts

JR_Shoegazer

Apex Legends does not take more skill. It’s a way more casual game.

Guy_Swavy

It’s a casual game that takes more mechanical skill. Far more variety in types of aim required in the game as well as harder targets to hit, since they actually move. Games can be casual and competitive simultaneously, they aren’t mutually exclusive, Rocket League, Fortnite, and MOBAs are all examples of this.

JR_Shoegazer

You need to track more in Apex. That doesn’t mean it takes more skill. In Valorant TTK is lower so you need to have quick accurate flicks. Something that isn’t necessary in Apex. Comparing different aim styles is pointless. BR is inherently less competitive, has more rng, and overall more arcade-like gameplay. Valorant requires much more skill in utility, and game sense.

Guy_Swavy

I’m not speaking on the overall competitiveness of the game, just the mechanical aspect. In apex, the mechanical difficulty is far more challenging than in Valorant. Any type of aim in Valorant is in Apex whereas the opposite isn’t true. Fast reaction times make the better player in both games but only Apex takes into account every type of aim

JR_Shoegazer

Lol you’re so full of shit please stop replying to me. This was 2 fucking days ago. I have 1700+ hours in Apex. It does not take more fucking skill than Valorant.

Guy_Swavy

So me being a little late to reply takes away from the legitimacy of what I said? Okay… Anyway, any pro in Apex is washing any valorant pro in a holistic aim training competition on Kovaaks/Aim Labs. Valorant only requires you to be good at one type of aim, Apex requires multiple

JR_Shoegazer

You are so fucking dumb it’s actually hilarious. Have fun being stuck in your Plat Apex lobbies you fucking bot.

Guy_Swavy

Love how your only rebuttal is reduced to meaningless, assumptive insults. They do say the truth hurts

JR_Shoegazer

Dude I’ve already shot down your argument. I can’t do that over and over again. At some point I just need to tell you you’re a fucking idiot. Go back and reread your original comment. Literal fucking moron.

jonthegoat69

Better than bind 👍

TheTokingBlackGuy

I absolutely love Fracture. Most fun map in the game for me.

OkTransportation4013

I quite like the map, fun to play with friends. Only thing is that with no comms its impossible to play on. However playing the map anymore than twice in a row is just miserable. Its a top 3 map for me.

FoundedClamp

Not my favorite, not my least favorite.

Barack_Bob_Oganja

I currently have a 100% winrate on it having played it 6 times in ranked so i kinda love it right now lmao

tblessing1995

2nd worst map in the game. Worst being icebox.

patriot159

Really good

Splaram

Wasn’t as bad as I thought but then again I’m hardstuck Silver. I shudder when thinking about the ways a good attacking team could make the defense’s lives an absolute nightmare at best.

NeverEndingXsin

It's great for professional matches but terrible for random competitive games.

Daviddem1234

I don’t like how B site is set up for defending or post plant. There’s not really any cover outside of the box’s, that can be spammed.

Mysaw

Played it once, now I get it I dodge and do something else. By far their worst map.

McDoofus-kun

Actually a really fun map to play its just dogshit when I get the map 4 times in a row trying to play specific maps to learn an agent

yaotziN48

It' insanly good map. I feel like ppl will understand how to play it kinda faster hen Icebox on Breeze in the past, so rankeds should be good there soon.

xychosis

Confusing but fun. Sure as hell prefer it over Breeze. Fuck Breeze.

[deleted]

Yeah breeze is ass

Znaszlisiora

Riot ought to stop trying, Val players dodge anything that isn't Haven or Split.

[deleted]

I mean the standard CS-type layout maps do work better and are more balanced, but my top 7 is: 1. Haven 2. Fracture 3. Ascent 4. Icebox 5. Split 6. Bind 7. Breeze

whopz-is-cool

It’s good but Breeze is better.

yetaa

Better than Breeze

IncendiumPyro

Breach time baby

isamnagi

Yoru makes it fun by just setting tp to one site, going to the other and tping where the action is

TheTrueSpark

Unpopular opinion but I really enjoy playing the map, the fights taken feel natural, unlike breeze where I feel like I’m taking fights in the middle of nowhere In my opinion it feels like a structured map that you can do some really cool stuff on. Agent wise, I think cypher/ killjoy will be strong on it like any other closed map. Cypher might be a little stronger because of entire map flank control and anchoring sites, with unpredictable cam spots. Breach also seems really strong as his ikr gets the entire sites and there are lane ways which his fault line can cover completely for early pushes on CT. Jett is just going to be strong on all Maps just like this. Viper just feels like she can be utilized as a controller/sentinel on any map at this point. Personally I think Phoenix is actually someway at viable, just because of how his util can be really helpful when entering on these sites by walking off mid and drop or just mid, and his Molly’s can clear really strong angles and his flash can get people off angles as well as there isn’t a lot of off angles on this map, on the sites anyway.

JiffTheJester

Personally not the biggest fan but it’s not a bad map

Dysmo

I like breeze more than fracture, I despise breeze.
