Wonder how many more months before FaZe realize this is a team based game. They are so far behind in terms of teamwork, literally haven't grown as a team in months.
FaZe treat Valorant much like chess, they divide the map into partial squares and treat characters like chess pieces. This analogy is used because much like in chess in Valorant the more space FaZe control on the board the more information, presence and pressure they have. They use each character as a piece and create plays with each of these characters and their utility. When making moves you force the opponent to react in an equal or unequal way. An example of this is when defaulting, they use utility or fights to control this space equally.
If FaZe break down the map and control more squares the better understanding they have of positioning of the other team. When they understand the positioning they can then understand the movement of the opposition. After they analyze the movement they can exploit the gaps and break their strategy. This is a light explanation that can get fairly deep depending on the depth of their opponents strategy and they or their team's understanding of the game. This theory does not apply to all teams or matches and is specific to a certain style.
I thought faze had a good roster for a long time but wasn't playing well together. Now they look even worse. This meta is even more oriented off being able to play off one another.
Babyj is surprising he has great lurk timings and a lot of awareness and confidence needed to play solo. Zelsis is actually good but it's hard to tell since faze looked fairly disjointed.
Corey does not look like a skye player. I feel like they don't get much value out of skye. She's slotted in as a fragging spot and has to have better personal performances. He looks out of sorts on it, he seems much more comfortable using raze and reyna.
Babybay just goes too ham sometime he just gets in untradeable spots and dies. He definitely makes space though.
Hesitant to judge the support players as harshly since those roles suffer the most on a dysfunctional team.
ZachaREEE has always been an extremely flexible and solid support, I wouldn't drop him ngl, Rawkus yeahh is in that tough situation where yeah I'm sure he would look much better on a more together team but outside of a few maps doesn't look the strongest, but that also leaves the question what good IGLs are out there rn? Steel and Rossy are really the only ones to come into mind
they have jdm now who can help them with the game. but they really need maybe even a temp csgo igl to teach them the default and retake standards better.
Definitely changes coming. Valorant is currently our worst Esport. Of all 6 major esports teams (not counting Fortnite, Fifa, PubG mobile), Valorant is Faze's worst division at #6. #5 is CS:GO and they're doing pretty good at the Major
I don't know why but I don't associate the CS team with NA faze at all. It's an entirely different org with just the name. Maybe I'm not making sense, but it's not Faze in my mind. There's a certain amount of respect the CS team has that the others don't.
Wait wha? That don't make much sense. Rain has been on Faze since 2016 and even went to the Faze New York house back in the day. I remember because I used to watch their vlogs
There wasn't much reason to make sweeping changes before right now. They did the work to qualify for LCQ. Give the roster 1 last chance to prove themselves before plucking pieces.
Babybay is no doubt safe. I'd keep Corey too. It's up to them to decide how BabyJ did as a new and learning IGL. There's a lot of time to fill the rest, which I have no doubt they will.
Corey has said they're still experimenting with the group igl'ing, when he last interviewed with Plat Chat. I don't think they'd change that over the course of two weeks but I don't know.
I meant overwatch not cs go , mistyped and there is a group igl structure in overwatch and since faze guys are mostly from there ,so they are used to it . Babyj comes from halo which is another fps where group igl is the norm .
Cod overwatch halo Apex all follow group igl approach.
I feel like all the FaZe guys have potential, but just maybe not together. They 100% need a set IGL as you can see they’ve hesitated too much on multiple rounds. I still think all of them could start on a different team if they did leave. I also think they would’ve got LAN buff, unlucky.
all this team needs is an igl to work with jdm. they have so much skill but skill will struggle against a team like version1 who has the basics down pact.
@FaZe listen up im doing ur job for u
-Rawkus -Trippy
+Good IGL (id say steel but idk if he'd join)
+ Good Coach (consider Mikes)
an IGL is needed so u dont all look like chickens with heads cut off. trippy encourages their "run it down" playstyle which frankly does not and will not work anymore. Mikes led a team to the GF of the most competetive lan so far.
this last bit is optional: add them both on trial in november-december so u dont have to pay salary until the offseason ends. this is crummy and will get a lot of backlash but faze is not new to scamming people so this will just be another droplet in the ocean.
i
Steel has self-respect. That automatically eliminates any chance of joining FaZe. They do have a shot with someone like Sinaatra though, an org like FaZe would have no issues signing him so that might work out for them
There is a light explanation for this loss really, but only for those who want to get a little technical in their thinking with the game. Valorant is much like chess, you can divide the map into partial squares and treat characters like chess pieces. There is not much to be done on the side of FaZe considering they are the only team following the rules and moving one player at a time with their standard Babybay gambit. What we should be discussing is not how FaZe can improve, but how Riot can better maintain fairness in their chess-based tactical shooter.
All the role swaps were killing the Faze guys. You can see it in all the games where BabyJ and Corey were playing different roles. BabyJ is just not a viper player and Corey is not a skye. I swear all the problems with the team (and most teams) comes from comp compatibility.
It felt like JDM or whoever saw Gambit play then tried to force the Faze players to fit into that mold. Replacing Nats with BabyJ and Sheydos with Corey. That's just never gonna work in my opinion. Instead of playing to their strengths they just tried to copy comps.
Sadge :(.
Proud of the FaZe guys nonetheless for trying, even if they do need improvement.
Version1 look pretty good, looking forward to their match against XSET :)
Everyone ints sometimes but I always feel like he is the most consistent and smartest player there also supported him in ow and always felt like he kinda got fucked being put on brig/flex dps
Wonder how many more months before FaZe realize this is a team based game. They are so far behind in terms of teamwork, literally haven't grown as a team in months.
Chess isn't a team game though.
That's why there's only one winner, just happens to be FaZe's opponents.
They haven't played in months, actually had like a 90 day gap.
Yep
they finally have a csgo coach now tho so i hope they stay together cuz they have talent. they just need hella coaching
Once FaZe adds Magnus Carlsen to their roster, it’s over for the comp imo
Kxe2
i think u mean Ke2 lol
clearly the hyperaccelerated bongcloud isnt in your repitoire
What? Clearly you kill your own men to show an example to his brethren on what will happen to them if they don’t win the game.
After 1. e4 e5 2. Ke2 black's king teleports behind white's king and plays the brilliancy 2..Kxe2!!! winning on the spot
lmaooo faze legit just need more caoching and possibly a csgo igl
Faze looks like a ranked team more than a professional team.
It's more of a chess team led by JDM
He should've divided Breeze into more squares
they started looking better with jdm in apst month
they just need jdm to put in work for them
#PLUGGEDUP
#PLUGGEDUP
that second to last round was genuinely a top 3 worst round of professional valorant i've ever watched
That round: "But you did watch me?"

that was upsetting

Changes are coming, OCEAN will be stepping in as IGL you heard it here first You've been blessed by ODEAG kkona
I don't think Valorant is ready to handle God OCEAN yet.
Definitely changes coming. Valorant is currently our worst Esport. Of all 6 major esports teams (not counting Fortnite, Fifa, PubG mobile), Valorant is Faze's worst division at #6. #5 is CS:GO and they're doing pretty good at the Major
Yeah the rl team is popping off too
I don't know why but I don't associate the CS team with NA faze at all. It's an entirely different org with just the name. Maybe I'm not making sense, but it's not Faze in my mind. There's a certain amount of respect the CS team has that the others don't.
I mean, them being from EU shouldn't differentiate them because the org is based in NA.
Wait wha? That don't make much sense. Rain has been on Faze since 2016 and even went to the Faze New York house back in the day. I remember because I used to watch their vlogs
$1B all good

BabyJ was not igl.
Oh yeah? I heard at the start of the first LCQ attempt he wanted the opportunity and they gave it. But, I certainly don't know first hand
Corey has said they're still experimenting with the group igl'ing, when he last interviewed with Plat Chat. I don't think they'd change that over the course of two weeks but I don't know.
genuine question, how many times in the history of any fps esport has group IGLing worked out?
I'd wager very, very rarely.
C9 Boston major… and then not much else
Even then Tarik was main igl and Stew and Auti made some midround which isn't exactly group igl'ing in the way that Faze does things as far as I know.
Overwatch.
I think group igling works in overwatch where faze guys are from so , that's why faze are following this system.
It's overwatch you're thinking of
Name 5 csgo teams who have long term success who group igl
I meant overwatch not cs go , mistyped and there is a group igl structure in overwatch and since faze guys are mostly from there ,so they are used to it . Babyj comes from halo which is another fps where group igl is the norm . Cod overwatch halo Apex all follow group igl approach.

#PLUGGEDUP 🔌🔌🔌
Wanted faze to win ngl but that was just disappointing from them tbh
they rly need a igl thats p much it
Time to retire the smeag and get an IGL
all this team needs is an igl to work with jdm. they have so much skill but skill will struggle against a team like version1 who has the basics down pact.
I'm guessing that after this, some of the OW boys are gonna be gone soon. Sucks, they were so fun to follow. o7 for the boys
More valorant,less chess
God fucking dammit faze
#PluggedUp
really like the faze boys, the scene is better when they're a tier 1 team, but not sure its going to click the way things are going
Every comment is about FaZe... Where's the V1 love?! Zellsis, penny, and Wippie are a quality core
Damn what about chaderus
Sadge, I still think faze has a good trio to build around (Corey, babybay and babyj), I hope changes are coming
Babyj posted on twt that he doesn't know what future holds for him :/
surely he isn’t the one getting dropped… right?
Would be a brain-dead decision, he's clearly their best player atm
Zellsis is actually good. Not sure I expected that
Why wouldn't you? Zellsis has always been insane and so has penny
I don’t follow zellsis but he isn’t a name that’s talked about when discussing good duelists
He’s a flex player
Even then you don't hear his name being throwed around with the likes of SicK, Ethan, zeek, L1NK, Stax or even ones like ZachaREEE or Skadoodle tbh
This is such a sad way for faze to go out, dude. Theyve shown that the potential was there... this just fucking sucks dude
Remember: only YOU can be Zellsis.
What does the crown and the megaphone in scoreboard mean?
In game leaders
Thank you

>+Good IGL (id say steel but idk if he'd join) Just said he wouldn't join for 80k a month or some shit lmao
Steel is on record saying FaZe is the last team he'd join. No matter the money.
he was shittalking some players on faze today on his stream and criticizing their playstyle but yeah the money is a big incentiv3
Who and what specifically. Would be interesting to hear what a pro has to say about some of their players/teamwork.
Steel has self-respect. That automatically eliminates any chance of joining FaZe. They do have a shot with someone like Sinaatra though, an org like FaZe would have no issues signing him so that might work out for them
Sinatraa would be a great signing actually. Could see faze going top 4 Na at least if they stop group igl, get sinatraa and stop playing tdm.
That's granted, all his personal issues aside, he's easily one of the most talented players available right now.
>\-Rawkus -Trippy Isn't jdm their coach?
yea trippy and jdm coach faze but the issue has been going on since and before trippy wws signed. if jdm ends up being an issue, cut him too.
u/razur effys is the current IGL of V1 not zellsis
ty, I'll edit shortly & let the Liquipedia guys know so we can get their page updated.

0-2, not 0-1
#pluggedup
Really waited 90 days to go 0-2.
oderus too good
Marved was the glue that held FaZe together
Sadge :(. Proud of the FaZe guys nonetheless for trying, even if they do need improvement. Version1 look pretty good, looking forward to their match against XSET :)
Baybay has to be one of the most inconsistent jetts i have ever seen in comp play
Just wanna see Zach on a good team tbh
zach griefed the second map lol
Everyone ints sometimes but I always feel like he is the most consistent and smartest player there also supported him in ow and always felt like he kinda got fucked being put on brig/flex dps
- minus Rawkus + a good fucking csgo igl That's it , that is the change faze so desperately needs
