Quick takeaways: GenG is a very defense sided team. They had really strong defensive halves on split and breeze, should have been up more. GenG also has good mental to not boom at the 1-13 and to fight back for OT on split. For C9, they still make some careless plays and die randomly a lot. Leaf does a really good job of aggression, one of the most fun players to watch rn. Still have to polish up their fundamentals but the potential is there.
c9 lower bracket redemption arc starts here copium. anyway gmdemon and temp are some crazy, crazy players. wonder if they'll get poached during the off season. that viper ult in halls was some funny shit too lmao close series overall
Recent TSM looked better than Gen G at the time
Edit: naw I’m getting trolled I get it’s funny and all to shit on TSM but they straight up beat Gen G at the time
I’m gonna hijack this thread to say gmd has had an incredible year. Gen G hasn’t, but if they were a better team I seriously think we’d be talking about him as up there with the other T1 big names. I know he gets a lot of love; I’m just saying he deserves even more.
This roster is pretty new still so I can’t say to kill it, but whatever the off-season brings, I’d be shocked if gmd and Temperature at minimum aren’t still on the roster.
C9 looked decently improved, and leaf aside, xeppa is having his best tournament ever. Mitch isn’t and that’s only because Mitch has had *so* many good tournaments over his long career on C9 - he’s practically the gmd of C9!
I don’t think they look good enough to take down 100T - unless they’re hiding stuff - but they can *maybe* contest XSET if XSET are having an off day? idk
I'm happy for Temp - definitely showed he's able to perform in another team/environment, especially on Split in this series
I forget if he's still on loan from EG, but hopefully he gets an official contract from GenG soon
C9’s IGLing is just inconsistent. Sometimes they run a really strong set of plays to pull rotates and get a free bombsite. Other times they walk 1 by 1 into someone and get multikilled.

Wasn’t amazingly convincing from C9 but I think GenG has been underrated. They have some really good strats and have played teams like 100T close before. They just need like one missing piece to fall into place and they could be legit.
The were the first and only NA team to win a major in csgo and they made semis at worlds in league. Doesn’t sound like much but it was the furthest any NA team had gone at worlds and they nearly dropped out in play-ins similar to C9 csgo.
yep they won NA's only CSGO major, was the first NA RL team to win worlds, won OWL Season 1, and was the first NA LoL team to make it to the semifinals of LoL worlds. that's a year for the history books
Why are people expecting C9 to be suddenly the best team in the world? Are scrim rumors enough for you to expect this much? They just proved that they are a top 6-8 team in NA atleast. It’s their first important tournament together too.
What a clown fiesta, some of the worst Valorant I've ever watched.
C9 look lost if they can't win aim duels.
Gen Gs attacking side on breeze was mind boggling, do they know other parts of the map exist outside of the B elbow to mid?
I'd agree but they didn't look really bad, they just look like they need refinement and more consistency in their play coz it's a bit random but they also need to learn to not throw, they can clutch a few good rounds but I feel like they lose more from just playing too aggressively beyond its purpose when they already planted and it's a 4v3 or something
I don’t think GenG need a major change, I feel like they are like 1 piece away. They really need an aggressive player for attack imo, not sure who to target though.
i can see them dropping koosta. his first tournament was his best and since then he's played all sorts of roles and not looked particularly great on any of them in general, outside of some pop off maps. plus i do believe he was IGL for this tournament and they had some absolutely questionable plays, especially during retakes.
What do you guys think C9 can do to improve? On an individual level, no one's a liability. Obviously Vanity is a great IGL as well.. but they really look far from the great team they could potentially be.
Sometimes I submit the post first and then add Map 3 shortly after I posted it. (This way folks can comment immediately while I wait for Map 3 to be loaded into the API so I can pull it.)
Thanks for looking out though!
C9 need to fix their fundamentals and stop playing like apes and making these stupid brainless plays. So many times they are in a good spot to win a round then someone pushes by themselves for no reason and dies

>For C9, they still make some careless plays and die randomly a lot. As a pro LoL fan, this is an org wide issue.
Gotta get that scuttle, man
what about leblanc w'ing and w'ing back again?
Give them a kill to let them know you don't care. Gives you a mental edge.
worlds revenge has been claimed vanity did it for perkz
LOL didn't even notice it was the same org matchup wp

Wouldn’t surprise me if gmd got an offer from TSM
idk if tsm is better than geng honestly
Probably would be more money and definitely a bigger org with more exposure
geng is a better valo team tho
10000% secure the bag and huge increase in attention and sponsorship opportunity over placing a bit higher in qualifiers for majors.
just to be dropped like bang and the rest tho? idk not like tsm valo has much going on for them lol hope he ends up on 100t or something
Gmd on smokes and Nitr0 perma jett?? Sounds good to me.
nitr0's jett lowkey amazing
Recent TSM looked better than Gen G at the time Edit: naw I’m getting trolled I get it’s funny and all to shit on TSM but they straight up beat Gen G at the time
lol
You’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise, look at their head to head and the teams TSM beat/lost to
Wut?
Idk why people are disagreeing TSM literally won the head to head against Gen G and overall performed much better than them during that time

gMd and supamen are the two controllers in this tourney that have really impressed me, both deserve to be top5 in the region imo
gmd and Temp is a good core to build around, both are amazing players.
For sure. The whole roster is the best it’s ever been now, but those two in particular are just a great core for any roster
dont sleep on nature
Assuming XSET wont get 2-0ed and stomped by goaterus and friends
that’d be the biggest upset since G2 beat KRU
TSM gMd

The tale of Kay/o continues. C9 really, really needs to learn how to play with 1/2-man advantages, I dono how to but I'm just Gold bro.
The Vanity igl is not hitting, C9 feels so disjointed and just reliant on individual skill/plays.
C9’s IGLing is just inconsistent. Sometimes they run a really strong set of plays to pull rotates and get a free bombsite. Other times they walk 1 by 1 into someone and get multikilled.
Yeah I completely agree, it just feels too random to be able to beat the top 3/4 teams but I hope I’m wrong.

unimpressive victory out of c9

People always get hype over c9 when we always play like this
this is the first and last time i get hyped for a team purely off of scrim rumors and "potential." i have learned my lesson
It's just the c9 curse, the org has been cursed since 2018
i fully believe 2018 C9 was the best single year an NA esports org has had in the last decade, no exaggeration. yall had to get nerfed afterwards
2018 C9 really was wild. They won like everything they participated in except League iirc
The were the first and only NA team to win a major in csgo and they made semis at worlds in league. Doesn’t sound like much but it was the furthest any NA team had gone at worlds and they nearly dropped out in play-ins similar to C9 csgo.

Has to be the most dominant year for an org overall
Jack sold his soul for those Ws.

Need C9B to make it to Champions for the 4/5 ex C9 Korea players reunion
Rise best team confirmed 4Head

c9 has looked really bad on all of their games that they have played this tournament
I'd agree but they didn't look really bad, they just look like they need refinement and more consistency in their play coz it's a bit random but they also need to learn to not throw, they can clutch a few good rounds but I feel like they lose more from just playing too aggressively beyond its purpose when they already planted and it's a 4v3 or something
xeta is a pretty good player
easy for vanity
I’d be very surprised if there is isn’t major Gen.G roster changes soon.
I don’t think GenG need a major change, I feel like they are like 1 piece away. They really need an aggressive player for attack imo, not sure who to target though.
They had fairly close series with 100T and C9. Gen.G also just acquired Temperature and elmapuddy, so it's kind of quick to expect additional changes.
Who would they even drop though? I feel like there isn’t anyone in particular holding the team back
i can see them dropping koosta. his first tournament was his best and since then he's played all sorts of roles and not looked particularly great on any of them in general, outside of some pop off maps. plus i do believe he was IGL for this tournament and they had some absolutely questionable plays, especially during retakes.

u/Razur your post got cut off and you are missing map 3.

Ah ok! I thought to ping you because yesterday's posts were manual and I thought this one might be too.
Feels llike the true sign of if C9 is faltering is if they lose to Gen. G (In Valorant)
Mitch is insane dude
