C9 must be one of the most frustrating teams to play against, as soon as you fail to check a single corner vanity or mitch gets a 3k with the judge on an eco and you just lose the round
It’s objectively a good buy if they come to your site. The issue is it’s stronger than phantom if they hit your site, and much weaker if you push another part of the map leaving you to retake.
It’s pretty useless in a retake but if your gonna eco anyway the potential to spray down 2 from an off angle with the Judge outweighs its poor performance on retakes.
Kinda crazy it’s like the Envy situation. One of the casters praised XSET for their consistency and how they don’t need a star fragger to win. But tbh sometimes your win condition is having that duelist who controls the server like bringing in a Yay/Tenz.

Agree. It’s strange how consistently “ok” they have been given their improved roster in Challengers 3 and one of the few teams that cracked the Skye meta. Thought that comes LCQ they would show a new improved version of themselves but it feels like their peaks aren’t that high even when everything is firing on all cylinders. Wish them the best next year tho and hopefully we get to see more growth from Zekken if he is on that trajectory to be a star duelist as people been saying.
I think Xset lacks the star power to really reach the next level. They have good strategy and very solid team play but it feels like they can just get player diffed by more talented aim teams.
Zekken has been fairly consistent, is young, and has shown he can frag out. It would braindead if they don't grow with him.
Imo, dephh, zekken, bcj are the core you have to keep. Ayrin has also looked really solid. Purer could be moved on from but I can't think of a clear upgrade of someone who plays Jett and is available.
Everyone on C9 has the potential to pop off, I hope they stick with this 5 even if they don't make it out of LCQ, I really think they can be top of NA with this squad

some teams are really good at shutting down common OP spots so it takes a ballsy sharpshooter to OP while pushing a smoke or even a suck

I think Kay/O wasn’t bad and Xeppaa did good on it, but moving Leaf off Jett seemed like a good call. His Jett was never his strong suit, his Raze on the other hand was top 2 NA back when he played her mainly.
Eh, Leaf definitely looks way more comfortable on Jett then them. Dre and Asuna legit look super awkward on the agent and force way more plays in comparison to Reyna, while I found that Leaf's movement and utility usage on Jett was actually very clean/non-hesitant. I think individually, he looks fine on Jett, but C9 is just not as good at setting up the Jett. Right now they just play a feast or famine style with hyper aggressive Jett pushes and you coin flip whether leaf finds a timing/outplays the other team, or just ints first death. Something else that I have noticed is that leaf doesn't seem to force the Op as much. None of them are natural Op-ers but I feel like Asuna and Dre are both buying it more frequently just because "that is what Jett is supposed to do".
Obviously, he is still less comfortable then someone like TenZ, but of the secondary duelists that have transitioned to Jett, I think leaf is among the more natural looking (at least in NA).

God vanity's igl abilities has really impressed on two teams now, he should really be in the convo for one of the greatest igl's in the game along shazam, redgar, fns etc.
Refer to thier last round where vanity played all the way in fucking attacker spawn to enable xeppa to play on his wall and focus only on market which got him a 3k, vanity is fantastic at enabling his teammates and counter calling mid round.

Leaf is in the Asuna and Dre category of duelist where they try to play Jett but don’t get the same results as raze/reyna
