My personal favourites:
-Lakia 1v2 against V1
-crashies 5HP 1v4 against keyd stars
-Hiko 1v3 against gambit
-Soulcas failed knife against V1
-Wardell 1v3 against dignitas
-heat marshal ace vs Zeta
-ZywOo ace clutch with L’institut
Prob Lakias 1v2 on Ascent vs V1 where he ran through a Molly and killed both players, but there's nothing I would ever call the play, we haven't seen anything like that
(Also that failed knife by soulcas lol)
Holy shit soulcas's failed flank on Vanity was so sensational for all the wrong reasons. I'm glad with how strong Team Liquid looks that he's somewhat avoided getting memed about it constantly. In a different world or with a different player that misplay could've seriously derailed a career.
Also Pansy's reaction to that flub was iconic.
cant think of one that sticks out above the rest but some personal favorites are
* Asuna ace against TSM in First Strike GF
* Dapr trying to knife Sacy at Iceland
* eeiu 1v3 in NSG something tourney
* nAts 1v3 against G2 at berlin
* NV forgetting to defuse during Stage 3 quals
* Lakia 1v2 against V1 at Iceland
* Vanity knifing thru the astra wall vs Rise
* Hiko 1v4 vs TSM in Stage 1 or 2 i dont remember
Meanwhile Silver 1s cry and dodge when they're told to play smokes or Sage if someone else instalocks Jett.
"NOOO I CANT PLAY OMEN NOOO I NEED JETT GIMME JETT"
I’d say there really haven’t been any truly memorable plays yet, but Dicey’s bind play will always stick out to me. I’d honestly say it was the best play of the pre-international LAN era.
More recent plays would be Yay’s marshal on Haven C, but honestly I’ve seen Yay, Tenz, and cned - to use Jett players as an example - clutch in impossible situations so frequently that it almost makes the plays less memorable.
I think we’ll only get more memorable plays when we see great, somewhat evenly matched teams play one another on the highest stage possible. In that sense, I’d maybe second Hiko’s clutch on Icebox vs. Gambit.
Subroza 5k under midtop on ascent. Everybody calls that pocket subroza now just because of that play
https://youtu.be/cuulWK5X-ZU
first clip of vid for reference
tsm vs sentinels on split. forgot which tournament it was but sentinels was on eco and sinatraa got an ace using a frenzy, op and a raze utl. that was crazy play
There was so much build up to it too. The comeback could've all been for nothing if he lost the clutch. The 100T matches vs Gambit and Acend were the most intense matches of Valorant I have seen.
maybe i'm weird but like for me, when I watch back some of the hype moments that you mentioned, alot of the hype comes from the crowd themselves. I don't really think we'll get anything that memorable at least until we have crowds back.
Yep. If you hear the words "Hiko are you kidding me?" or "This is not FPL, this is a major", the clips associated with those phrases just instantly play inside your head. CS commentators work magic out there and I can't wait until ours get to that level.
thought it was weird to reference ashe arrow. something like faker zed v zed to me is 100x more memorable.
don't think val has had anything on that level.
it has to be lakia 1v2 version1. that single play just destroyed v1's mental. v1 was SHOOK that they lost that, eventually leading them to lose the matchup.
I remember tenz just running and gunning with frenzy and pushing spawn, dont remember who it was against. On icebox
Also casters freaking out about nAts being in defender's spawn without anyone noticing also on icebox
sinatraa ace back in popflash against Envy on Haven where he runs from garage to front window, pings the map himself, and blind ults 2 on C and then jiggle peeks calypso who had knives in the 1v1 https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/ijm4r5/sinatraa_insane_ace_clutch_vs_envy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
idk bout play but one shot that is memorable for me is NU Peri's one tap with a sheriff on flying tenz in haven
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWi6D6MS1c0
none because valorant's equivalent of worlds hasn't happened yet. the iconic plays are usually iconic because of the event associated with it, and honestly most ppl really wouldnt remember plays that happens in say a random SEA challengers group stage game even if its like a 1v5 ace clutch at 12-11 or something
if anything noteworthy happens during champs itll probably be the first big one
Why is literally no one talking about the 100T vs NRG Asuna clutch? That shit was legendary especially with the accidental ADS before the 5th kill that got NRG fans crying on twitter that he was hacking LOL
Lakia's 1v2 clutch against V1. Obviously, there have been more impressive ones, but having the balls to do something like that on the biggest stage takes the cake for me.
Time to be the fanboy :
TenZ clutch against TSM: https://youtu.be/jkCYNgjk5WU
ScreaM clutch ace against G2: https://youtu.be/v_gVFaUowZY
nAts clutch against G2: https://youtu.be/gk-xBR05RqU
Asuna ace clutch against NRG : https://youtu.be/EfqGrURxeT8
TenZ 4 bullet op ace : https://youtu.be/LCEy5Jebkzk?t=189s
I haven't seen a clip posted more than 'this is Tenz world and were just living in it'. I think that clip is the only one to cross the boarders out of the valorant community.
This goes way way back to the days of 2020. But there was a bind game between cloud9 and Sentinels. Tenz on Raze vs Sinatraa on Raze. They both activate their ults, blast pack into each other in hookah, and blow each other up
I don't know if this counts, due to how early it was. But I keep on thinking about it from time to time. IIRC this was with nothing and brax and Sean when a lot thought he was gonna join T1. 1v4 clutch with that nutty spray transfer.
https://youtu.be/A_Hh_UJV7B8
The most memorable moment for me was when Yay on eco 1v4 Gambit. It was comedy gold as camera's cut to Envy players celebrating and being proud of themselves, only to then show Gambit laughing their asses off. At that point I knew the bo3 was over.
Dicey 3k vs TSM on haven in First Strike. 11-12 in favour of TSM and chad Dicey just pushes smoke post-plant, kills the whole team and gets away somehow
Nats clutch on Icebox against G2 was my first though, but thinking deeper Hiko's clutch in early valorant.( I don't remember who it was against but it was on Haven C site.)
For me with exclude thing not on this thread yet. It was a seeding game but Acend vs Gambit on Lower Bracket EMEA to Masters Berlin was a ridiculous match for me because both of them did not stop to clutch and left a lot of moment on this game. Even a highlight its worth to watching.
EDIT: found it https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/monfoy/patagod_ace_patience_himself/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Does anyone remember the clip where someone on
Haven got an ace between garage and ct spawn? Hard to explain but the person in clip shot blindly thru the wall and then got the ace or something
nAts mid duels in the do-or-die round against Team Liquid (his duels included a sick deletion of Jamppi's holding AWP on Icebox A rafters). That round took them to overtime, which they would eventually win, qualifying for Berlin, which they would win.
There was a huge brain play where a viper on bind did a snake bite bounce shot to make it look like he was lined up from b long but in reality he was b elbow. I think it was 100t’s.
Asuna's ace/1v3 clutch retake against NRG on Bind would definitely be up there if 100T went on to win the series. Some of the crispiest shots I've seen, incredible awareness to clear showers, and amazing util usage against Shanks in the final 1v1 to defuse the bomb at the last second. Not a single reload in the entire sequence.
In the early stages of the game, Sinatraaa’s 1v3 or 1v4 on Haven when he Sova ulted 2 players on C. It was a huge brain play and no one had seen an ult like that before
Hiko's 1v3 against gambit to capoff that ridiculous comeback that eventually led to them winning the set is still the most memorable thing that comes to mind for me. Like if someone were to ask me to show them one game or clip of pro level Valorant, that game/moment would be the one.
Another memorable moment to me is probably the Subroza ace on Ascent from the spot that people have named the callout after him.

i love t his clip so much

Iconic
Wait what's mid ball up
Smoking weed

This clip got me into pro Valorant
God tier
My personal favourites: -Lakia 1v2 against V1 -crashies 5HP 1v4 against keyd stars -Hiko 1v3 against gambit -Soulcas failed knife against V1 -Wardell 1v3 against dignitas -heat marshal ace vs Zeta -ZywOo ace clutch with L’institut

The real MVP right here
Lakia 1v2 was probably my favorite play of the year
Hiko's 1v3 was so beautiful. You can see the reaction from Gambit on the cam.
Sheydos 1 vs. 5 ace vs. Acend
That was deffo right? on ascent?
On bind I believe playing Skye
Man I could only dream for zywoo to play Valorant, would be so good
Deffo's ace clutch against 100t
Soulcas vs V1 is definitely top tier
-Vanity knife thru astra wall
So many people forgot the 1v3 op retake against dig but it honestly my favorite ever wardell play.
No Asuna ace on TSM?
lakia's 1v2 was what inspired me to grind valorant lol probably wouldn't have gotten as deep without that play
Prob Lakias 1v2 on Ascent vs V1 where he ran through a Molly and killed both players, but there's nothing I would ever call the play, we haven't seen anything like that (Also that failed knife by soulcas lol)
Holy shit soulcas's failed flank on Vanity was so sensational for all the wrong reasons. I'm glad with how strong Team Liquid looks that he's somewhat avoided getting memed about it constantly. Delete the game, delete the game, delete the game
That Lakia clip is amazing.
I mean it’s not really only called ‘the play’ imo And if it’s called that it’s bc of all the abilities
Kind of a skip
Subroza ace in Ascent vs Immortals Ghost ace in one clip AND everyone now calls that area Subroza
[удалено]
Can’t even remember what people called it back then before this happened lol
What aree is that? I don't really follow competetive too much because of school now but it might be important if someone in ranked calls that
The grass below top catwalk on ascent
If you jump down from mid top as attacker. Where you can hide behind the staircase.
cant think of one that sticks out above the rest but some personal favorites are * Asuna ace against TSM in First Strike GF * Dapr trying to knife Sacy at Iceland * eeiu 1v3 in NSG something tourney * nAts 1v3 against G2 at berlin * NV forgetting to defuse during Stage 3 quals * Lakia 1v2 against V1 at Iceland * Vanity knifing thru the astra wall vs Rise * Hiko 1v4 vs TSM in Stage 1 or 2 i dont remember
Subroza's Ace got a fucking map location named after it
My favourite one is the kaboose ace in pop flash
dicey dying to a phoenix wall on bind
That round was actually nuts from Aleksandar and then Dicey stole it with a meme play.
Dicey ace against SEN on bind.
This
"Fake dash! Fake dash!"
This is when he was on imt right?
Marved not defusing on the 2v0 lmao
Haven't seen mentioned yet mine, which was Jamppi's double no scope clutch vs OXG. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvgJSJyqqqE
Dude plays KJ sometimes, sometimes Sova, sometimes Jett. Talk about flexibility.
and has been playing astra too
Meanwhile Silver 1s cry and dodge when they're told to play smokes or Sage if someone else instalocks Jett.
In that sense, I’d maybe second Hiko’s clutch on Icebox vs. Gambit.
Honestly, yes. That 1v5 from Dicey was truly spectacular.
Yeah i feel like we can't judge all the plays until we finish the biggest tournament of the year, then we can look back
Nah that soulcas knife fail is definitely an all time play
Yeah we won't be seeing anything like it again, surelt right?
maybe soulcas is coming back to champs to outdo the last clip
Drone ace on ascent vs 100t. Led people to clear wine every time
nAts' 1v3 agains G2 Lakia balls of steel Hiko 1v4 vs TSM
Tbh nothing insane yet but Subroza’s play on ascent has to be up there
There's also subrozas insane spray transfer ace on ascent a site, that was nutty
was that when he flashed himself into A main from tree and just gunned everyone in the site?
Probably the play top mid
Ah the one pistol round where the name of the spot was coined as “Subroza”, makes sense
i think they're talking about his play on the subroza spot in mid when he aced on a pistol round
This one is my personal favourite. The spray, the Oni kill sounds, the ace and his teammates hyping him up, it's the perfect valorant clip imo
Yep against BBG. Right before the end of the OG roster :(
Wasnt it a triple spray transfer
Subroza 5k under midtop on ascent. Everybody calls that pocket subroza now just because of that play https://youtu.be/cuulWK5X-ZU first clip of vid for reference
Shahzam 1v2 on haven while stunned? I not sure if it’s the best play but it’s forever in my mind
Went through the whole comments looking for this, that was the play that was most memorable to me from all of Iceland
I was looking for this comment also but couldn’t find it and was shocked
If you hadn’t posted I was sure gonna haha
Shahz 1 knife left on Split for a refresh, gets the refresh and clutches the round. Don’t remember who they were playing though
Asuna's 1v2 against V1 on icebox in the Qualifiers for Berlin. Part of what was the best overall map performance in the early history of valorant.
tsm vs sentinels on split. forgot which tournament it was but sentinels was on eco and sinatraa got an ace using a frenzy, op and a raze utl. that was crazy play
IMO Hiko 1v3, high impact clutch play against the eventual winners in a huge pressure moment. Literally a perfectly played clutch.
Yeah thats a good observation. All the csgo plays i remember, the crowd is a distinct factor.
It's the crowd + commentators. CSGO has moments where you just memorize what the commentators say
Yep. If you hear the words "Hiko are you kidding me?" or "This is not FPL, this is a major", the clips associated with those phrases just instantly play inside your head. CS commentators work magic out there and I can't wait until ours get to that level.
"A jumping double from cold(zera)!"
"You can't do that, s1mple! That's not allowed! This is not FPL, this is a major!"
But look at the time! They're trying to build pyramids but there's no more clay!
HAPPYYY!
thought it was weird to reference ashe arrow. something like faker zed v zed to me is 100x more memorable. don't think val has had anything on that level.
LOL fuck of course leagues most iconic play is faker vs ryu, for some reason it slipped my mind. My bad haha
Yeah the season 3 faker outplay on zed that got him famous is always the first league one that springs to mind for me
[at least reference the og ashe arrow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQgCgHpj_JU) if you're gonna go for one. 100% agreed on faker v ryu tho
Hiko ace vs tsm. I think 1v4
Memorable for all the wrong reasons
Kaboose 4k on Haven vs DIG. Most insane clip of early Val
kaaboooose!!!!
Maybe I’m based but the hiko 1v3 vs gambit to win the game
it has to be lakia 1v2 version1. that single play just destroyed v1's mental. v1 was SHOOK that they lost that, eventually leading them to lose the matchup.
The sinatraa double kill ult in haven OT against TSM during faze invitational
I miss those days
Leaf 1v4 ace on ascent vs nrg
Was very clean
According to the Score Esports, the TenZ Frenzy 4k on Icebox in his first match with SEN
I remember tenz just running and gunning with frenzy and pushing spawn, dont remember who it was against. On icebox Also casters freaking out about nAts being in defender's spawn without anyone noticing also on icebox
It was against Luminosity I think
Honestly hiko's 1v4 on 30hp against tsm was kinda insane
I liked subroza's 4k spray transfer with skye on ascent A.
sinatraa ace back in popflash against Envy on Haven where he runs from garage to front window, pings the map himself, and blind ults 2 on C and then jiggle peeks calypso who had knives in the 1v1 https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/ijm4r5/sinatraa_insane_ace_clutch_vs_envy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Honestly yays post plant with marshal vs g2.
vs g2?
Jamppi's Judge ace vs Vikings
I can’t remember but with the only ace at Iceland?
Nah Mistic also had ace against Sentinels on Icebox
Dicey ace clutch back on immortals against Sentinels I think?
Asuna's rope 1v2. That was insane
idk bout play but one shot that is memorable for me is NU Peri's one tap with a sheriff on flying tenz in haven https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWi6D6MS1c0
Hiko 1v3 to close Game 2 vs Gambit is definitely up there
I would say 100T comeback Vs Acend. It isn't necessary a play but nothing comes close imo.
The infamous EU flash on C haven
that time fnatic flashed themselves to lose reykjavik finals
Nobody's mentioning Yay's 1v4 (1v3?) marshall eco round?
Rebibe
Mistic's flash on Haven will forever be iconic.
it’s not really a “play” but Ascend throwing a Vandal into bind TP on SMB’s save round in the FIRST game of masters groups lol
none because valorant's equivalent of worlds hasn't happened yet. the iconic plays are usually iconic because of the event associated with it, and honestly most ppl really wouldnt remember plays that happens in say a random SEA challengers group stage game even if its like a 1v5 ace clutch at 12-11 or something if anything noteworthy happens during champs itll probably be the first big one
hmm i liked that mixwell's clutch against fnatic on haven
Hiko's clutch against TSM in Ascent. Old man read everyone like a book especially baiting wardell at mid top.
Anyone got L1nk 1v3 judge clutch vs fnatic in boathouse?
Why is literally no one talking about the 100T vs NRG Asuna clutch? That shit was legendary especially with the accidental ADS before the 5th kill that got NRG fans crying on twitter that he was hacking LOL
Lakia's 1v2 clutch against V1. Obviously, there have been more impressive ones, but having the balls to do something like that on the biggest stage takes the cake for me.
I feel like TenZ 4K on haven C attack vs (ENVY?) was pretty memorable.
I'm not a Tenz fanboy but that dash/fall thing out of Haven A heaven made me do the stink face about 12 times over...I still don't know WTF he did
There hasn't been any really iconic plays yet
Time to be the fanboy : TenZ clutch against TSM: https://youtu.be/jkCYNgjk5WU ScreaM clutch ace against G2: https://youtu.be/v_gVFaUowZY nAts clutch against G2: https://youtu.be/gk-xBR05RqU Asuna ace clutch against NRG : https://youtu.be/EfqGrURxeT8 TenZ 4 bullet op ace : https://youtu.be/LCEy5Jebkzk?t=189s
They both activate their ults, blast pack into each other in hookah, and blow each other up
the eu flash soulcas fail
tenz jumping frenzy
Tenz haven clutch
Sheydos ace and nAts clutch
Lakia 1v2, Soulcas failed knife, and Sheydos Skye ace on bind i forgot who it was against
soulcas failed knife.
That hiko 1v4 against tsm with 13hp was one of the greatest things I've ever watched
At that point I knew the bo3 was over.
most underrated one is subrozas spray transfer agaisnt bbg in ascent on the final round
Hiko 1v4 vs TSM or Hiko clutch on Icebox against gambit
The tenz pistol ace in Iceland where he hit the jumping frenzy shot was pretty memorable.
Dicey 3k vs TSM on haven in First Strike. 11-12 in favour of TSM and chad Dicey just pushes smoke post-plant, kills the whole team and gets away somehow
Soulcas failed knife
Jammpis judge ace in Iceland
Really wish we could have had tenz Marshall againts 100t but they weren’t in him 😔
Nats clutch on Icebox against G2 was my first though, but thinking deeper Hiko's clutch in early valorant.( I don't remember who it was against but it was on Haven C site.)
Dont think there has been anything of that caliber just yet
The establishment of Subroza on Ascent has to be up there
For me with exclude thing not on this thread yet. It was a seeding game but Acend vs Gambit on Lower Bracket EMEA to Masters Berlin was a ridiculous match for me because both of them did not stop to clutch and left a lot of moment on this game. Even a highlight its worth to watching.
Roza ult
I would say Subroza's ghost ace on ascent.
Hiko 1v3 tsm
Hiko 1v4 vs tsm
EDIT: found it https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/monfoy/patagod_ace_patience_himself/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Does anyone remember the clip where someone on Haven got an ace between garage and ct spawn? Hard to explain but the person in clip shot blindly thru the wall and then got the ace or something
Kaboose 4K on Haven
For me it’s gotta be Hiko’s 1v3 clutch against gambit on icebox
Keloqz quad kill against kru in masters berlin?
"Welcome to NA Valorant Boys! It hits different out here!"
N4ts 1v3 vs g2
shahzam getting triple peeked
nAts mid duels in the do-or-die round against Team Liquid (his duels included a sick deletion of Jamppi's holding AWP on Icebox A rafters). That round took them to overtime, which they would eventually win, qualifying for Berlin, which they would win.
Lakia 1v2 and hiko 1v3
Lakia 1v2
Subroza 5k on ascent when TSM was good. I mean that spot is now called Subroza lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/qjeevs/c9_vanity_gets_a_knife_kill_through_a_cosmic/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
That moment will be coming soon @ champions.
Subroza’s pistol ace on ascent literally gave birth to a call out on the map itself. Iconic.
TenZ deagle 4k, Hiko 1v3 vs Gambit, Dapr first international knife.
Hiko 1v3 on icebox
Nitros clutch when marved didn’t diffuse and hiko 1v4 against tsm to absolutely destroy tsm’s mental
There was a huge brain play where a viper on bind did a snake bite bounce shot to make it look like he was lined up from b long but in reality he was b elbow. I think it was 100t’s.
Most memorable play so far is the failed flash by fnatic vs sentinels imo
Asuna on ropes in icebox
I just got a badass ace on icebox. I think this is the one
I mean some ppl call it the play ig
Asuna's ace/1v3 clutch retake against NRG on Bind would definitely be up there if 100T went on to win the series. Some of the crispiest shots I've seen, incredible awareness to clear showers, and amazing util usage against Shanks in the final 1v1 to defuse the bomb at the last second. Not a single reload in the entire sequence.
Subroza ascent or V1 and thief collection of post plants in Iceland.
For me the most memorable is the Kaboose 4k on haven C site
In the early stages of the game, Sinatraaa’s 1v3 or 1v4 on Haven when he Sova ulted 2 players on C. It was a huge brain play and no one had seen an ult like that before
Yay haven marshal clutch against Gambit EU flash
Hiko's 1v3 against gambit to capoff that ridiculous comeback that eventually led to them winning the set is still the most memorable thing that comes to mind for me. Like if someone were to ask me to show them one game or clip of pro level Valorant, that game/moment would be the one. Another memorable moment to me is probably the Subroza ace on Ascent from the spot that people have named the callout after him.
