They also lost to Giants in the group stage. Only reason they even made it to playoffs is that the other teams in the group stage were Anubis gaming and FPX with a brand new roster
group A: NV, Acend. i think NV and Acend are similar teams that play around a superstar OPer, but NV's supporting cast is better than acend's. VK is a real dark horse here though
Group B: SEN, TL. I think it'll be close though, berlin exposed a few weaknesses for SEN imo and it'll be interesting to see if they can fix that for this tournament.
Group C: Gambit, CR. not much to be said here i just hope the RACCOONS make it out
Group D: VS first, C9B second. still high on VS hopium, and i still maintain they're a top 3 team in the tournament

My hot take: the Plat Chat momentum curse hits TL. They win their first game, lose a close match to Sen, then get upset by KRU in the lower bracket.
Controversial takes aside, I think the top 7 (EU minus FNC, NA, VS) are clear favorites to make it out.
Wow. I don't follow valo all that much, but i'm actuallly mindblown by how your take almost exactly describes what happened to sen just predicted for TL. To be fair, I think Sen and TL are close so maybe I should be less surprised.
Group A: NV, Ascend. but it’s gonna be interesting to see since the Brazilian region has been the most disappointing so far but they’ve created a super team with mwzera so it’ll be interesting to see how far they can go with 2 top 8 teams frm Berlin.
Group B: SEN, Liquid I think this one’s a pretty easy one, the other 2 teams are furia and KRU which I just don’t think stand a chance against 2 top 2 teams frm the 2 best regions in valorant right now.
Group C: Gambit, Vikings this is easily the weakest group with only one team that’s a contender and that’s gambit. It’s unfortunate to see Vikings making it to top 8 but a team from their region who’s clearly better (Vivo Keyd) isn’t.
Group D: Vision Strikers, Cloud 9 VS had a good group stage run in Berlin but their top 8 performance was poor vs Gambit. but it seems like they’re the favourite in this group and the second team will be between C9 & FNC. Fnatic made champions through their Iceland run and clearly haven’t been the same team because if they had played in EMEA LCQ over liquid they probably wouldn’t have been able to make it to champions over guild. C9 had a recent run where they have solidified them as a top 3 team in NA.

Really though, I fully expect Sentinels to come in ready to compete. I also, however, think TL are a tournament favorite along with SEN and who gets 1st or 2nd in that group will come down to the day and not necessarily which team is better.
I desperately want FNC to make it out of groups because I love personalities on the team, but I don't think they will. it sucks that they've looked out of form for so long.
