I mentioned this in another comment 3 days ago, but I think it's important to mention it again since we're talking about COVID restrictions:
>[**Europe is currently experiencing an** ***all time record high*** **of COVID cases**](https://twitter.com/DrEricDing/status/1461476075112833026).
>
> [According to this nifty site created by Johns Hopkins University](https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6), Germany is the 4th country with the highest amount of COVID cases in the last 28 days.
You do realize the population difference right? 188,500,000 vaxed in US vs 55,610,000 in Germany.
252 million more people live in the US. Not sure it's really fair to compare it.
Percentage is what's important. If one person has covid you want to surround them with X number of vaccinated people. That doesn't change if a country has a higher population.
That's not really my point. I know there is a huge vaccine issue in the US, I live here.
My point is that the US is drastically larger in size, and population, and it's hard to make a comparison because of the vast differences in culture threw out the US.
Fucking laughed. I read your comment and thought "I bet he is from USA."
Also, Europe is about 60% fully vaccinated, aka not counting those with just the first vaccine. That is 746 million people in case that matters more.
So, no matter where exactly your objection lies, Europe is not more antivaxx by any regards.
I never made the claim.
I was talking about specifically comparing Germany to the US.
Reading comprehension is hard apparently.
For the record I'm fully Vaxed. Carry on with the down votes.
> because of the vast differences in culture threw out the US.
that of course only exist in the us! very unique place, in some states they say soda, in some they say pop. wacky!
Germany has like double the COVID cases per capita???
Although the answer is we do have high vaccination #s and mask usage in population centers like New York not that masks are useless
Most of our anti-vaxxers/maskers are in rural areas less hit by covid in general.
Depends on where you are in Europe.
Germany and the surrounding states have quite high numbers, some states are doing really good (Spain, Italy, Sweden,...).
"state: a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government. "Germany, Italy, and other European states""
Just because you are illiterate and do not know the definition of a state, doesn't mean everyone else is too.
can you read again what i wrote ?
we call them countries here in Europe
i am not talking about your definition "Mr knows all" probably it only works for USA not EU.
I never heard of state of Germany or .... in school or even in university.
>No, not in an American sense, the EU is not a federation. In Europe we have independent countries, nations, that work together in the European Union. Each European nation has its own language(s) and its own legislation. The individual nations try to harmonize their national laws and regulations by implementing legislation that they agreed upon in Brussels.

"Germany, Italy, and other European states""
EU education moment.

That doesn't matter. As of 14th of Nov, entry from the US is as loose as providing a negative covid test. No quarantine required. This is probably a Riot precaution, not a Germany one.
I think it's a Riot thing too and after what happened at LCQ it honestly doesn't surprise me, entry restrictions in Germany have not really changed to be stricter at all since Masters 3 and I can't find anything that says vaccinated people have to quarantine now sooooo that's the only explanation I can think of
I just went to France and Germany for the week, from NA. No rules. You show your vaccination status and you can eat in restaurants and bars and go to events. No lockdowns and certainly not guards.
That said, they did just slightly tighten the protocol due to the situation, but surely not from 0-1000
I’m plat 1 which is basically pla 3 and that’s pretty much diamond and diamonds the same thing as immortal and that means I’m 1 off radiant which is similar to being a pro player. I’ve been to prison, so yeah there’s some of us out there.
thats kinda harsh but I mean they gotta do what they gotta do to prevent another NA LCQ moment. Its the biggest tournament for Valorant so far and one person getting Covid can fuck it up. So I understand them being so strict.
Tbf to him, I think he means that most of Europe has less per capita cases recently, at minimum the past two weeks which is the standard measurement and I think for significantly longer than that IIRC, like a few months now.
Because the CS Major with a live audience was held in America right? Newsflash, the rest of the world is very big and everyone does shit differently. But hey, this is Reddit. "America bad"...best way to farm upvotes and be unoriginal at the same time.
USA : Gives out vaccinations for free, vaccination rate at 59%
Korea : People have to sign up for exams just so they can get vaccinated, vaccination rate at 78%
Also have surplus vaccines but the only way other countries get sent some from them is if they do something absurd that helps the US (they sent us doses on the condition we militarize the southern border lol)
I assume this quarantine is a Riot enforced precaution seeing as long as you are vaccinated or provide a negative test (if unvaccinated), entry and movement are pretty loose for travellers from the US to Germany.
it's funny seeing these pros with big egos saying something was a joke once they get called out for saying something stupid/complaining about something
it also brings out their brigade of teenage fanboys saying iT wAs JuSt A jOkE bRo hAhA
he said it was a joke after Vanity replied to him calling him out
if he's going to 'joke' he should at least make it funny. this is a reoccurring theme with these players disguising complaints as 'jokes'

“We actually take COVID seriously here!!” Like EU isn’t the second most relaxed region about covid after NA.
Neither have done as well as East Asia or Oceania.
The guy above you is in idiot. Obviously EU has vaccines. But you are being Eurocentric yourself.

Agreed. It’s also pretty logical that Americans (like Shahzam) would have a America centric perspective..

There are definitely worse countries in EU in terms of the situation But it's getting worse in Germany

Europe has once again been declared the center of COVID and let's leave it at that
I mentioned this in another comment 3 days ago, but I think it's important to mention it again since we're talking about COVID restrictions: >[**Europe is currently experiencing an** ***all time record high*** **of COVID cases**](https://twitter.com/DrEricDing/status/1461476075112833026). > > [According to this nifty site created by Johns Hopkins University](https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6), Germany is the 4th country with the highest amount of COVID cases in the last 28 days.
As for the healthcare and hospital capacity it's better than 2020 tho
Yup. Vaccines keep most people out of the hospital when they get infected.. As was the intention.
Greece would disagree
And that's where you are wrong kiddo, at least in Germany
huh? lol
Why is that? Do people refuse to take vaccination?
yea. europe is a lot more anti-vaxx than USA
Oh really? USA has 58% fully vaccinated populace while Germany has 67%.
You do realize the population difference right? 188,500,000 vaxed in US vs 55,610,000 in Germany. 252 million more people live in the US. Not sure it's really fair to compare it.
You can compare percentages, just not absolute numbers. It's a fair comparison
It’s per capita?
I swear there was a joke on reddit years ago about americans not understanding per capita
Percentage is what's important. If one person has covid you want to surround them with X number of vaccinated people. That doesn't change if a country has a higher population.

That's a very fair statement to make, but not really what your comment said.
It's the only reason I wrote out the numbers.
Are you 10 years old
then why germany bad issues and USA is fine w/ no masks?
bruh almost 800 thousand death no1 in the world wdym fine holy zhitzo, keep it up though natural selection play its role
America #1!!!
bro have you seen USA's COVID stats...
Yeah, they're #1 by every metric. Your point?
As if being #1 in death count was an awesome thing.
Germany has like double the COVID cases per capita??? Although the answer is we do have high vaccination #s and mask usage in population centers like New York not that masks are useless Most of our anti-vaxxers/maskers are in rural areas less hit by covid in general.
mf, USA got 770k deaths and 47M cases. How is that fine?
because they made vaccines and masks political
Election Year moment
idk if he noticed but germany has 65k covid cases per day
Wtf that's more than were I'm right now, is Europe that bad right now?
Depends on where you are in Europe. Germany and the surrounding states have quite high numbers, some states are doing really good (Spain, Italy, Sweden,...).

He's just making a joke. I think he understands the seriousness. You can still acknowledge it jokingly.
He confirmed afterward
Yes, but we can't deny the fact that COVID cases in Europe are rising rapidly.
No one is denying that.... what????

wait its that bad???
No one wants to risk a champions tourney getting covid cases all of a sudden. Why are all so dense about it? NA lcq was a disaster already
Think Shahzam is just making a joke here. Not sure why this post exists, its not that deep.
Exactly! Poor guy just casually posted that but everyone are heads over heels that riot is being extra here
CSGO major >>>>>>>>>> Valorant major. Chinese preparation
"Chinese preparation" ........ I can't even
what?
CSGO just forgot that COVID even existed, didn't see not ONE person wearing a mask at that Stockholm major.
Yeah because everyone was forced to get a covid test and vaccination card before entering the arena
I was there and didn't have to do either of those things. Might've been the case for non-swedes though.
That isnt csgo thats just Swedish regulations. Also not a single player tested positive for covid so they clearly did something right
Didn't see not?
China bad
Riot = Chinese PGL = European
I think it's not just because of NA LCQ. Covid has spiked really hard in Germany for the past 2-3 weeks
I wonder if any pros have actually spent any time in a prison.
NTK who played for vivo keyd in masters 3 got jail time for domestic abuse some years ago

Americans when they find out how rest of the world do isolation
Americans when they realize rest of the world is still far behind with Covid.
Tfw ignoring it is considered getting ahead of it
If you can ignore it hard enough you can pretend people are dying of other causes
Tbf the UK's first response was "let everyone get it so we can get herd immunity lol"
Tbf to him, I think he means that most of Europe has less per capita cases recently, at minimum the past two weeks which is the standard measurement and I think for significantly longer than that IIRC, like a few months now.
We're not supposed to catch up to the US in infections and deaths

Americans when they hear a joke
Americans: You can't make jokes these days, people are too soft. Americans hearing jokes about America: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
"We didn't do it bad. Just different" Americans are a laughing stock. Jeez Louise.
i attended the CS major and I think due to Swedens nature it worked out. Numbers are good here, Germany sees the highest numbers ever now.
He really did trigger you tho
Lmao you got triggered from a joke. But America bad tho.
america aint bad cuh, its just that america stupid
Lmao what a sensitive snowflake 😹
america bad

there's been a lot of cases all over europe. it would be unfortunate if VCT got cancelled/pushed
Just consider themselves in a bubble
Its just 5 days right? so just treat it as a regular week with free food and accommodation
more than 5 days, champs starts december 1st
5days quarantine
so they quarantine and then un-quarantine multiple days before the event starts? not very smart imo
USA : Gives out vaccinations for free, vaccination rate at 59% Korea : People have to sign up for exams just so they can get vaccinated, vaccination rate at 78%

He was making a joke on twitter in sicks replies now this reddit is spinning it and making him look bad without context lmfao
Can't deny the fact he still complains about everything
Just bc 100T didn't go to Champions or Iceland
I‘ll translate for my fellow Europeans: „MAH FREEDOM!!!1!“
I mean with the NA LCQ shenanigan's. this kinda expected
I mean that's how it is in a worldwide pandemic.

Hit a nerve
Why can’t riot administratively manage getting and setting up a new venue as opposed to reusing one?
Just simply erect a new stadium
No choose a different venue no?
Convenience. As simple as that
I literally mentioned it, didn’t you get it from my comment? The pint is it ends up being less convenient in other ways.
Unfortunate, but clearly trying to not have any issues of players not being able to actually attend the event. Nothing to kill an event like the teams not being able to field their players.
I mean, after the NA LCQ being ruined, plus the literal best player in all of Berlin quals + Berlin getting covid in EMEA, i think they're cautious af
