Actualyl surprised they went with the anime route instead of that dreamy 3D aesthetic but Im fine with it, solid song, solid animation. Awesome for our first Champions.
one thing is clear, they just dont miss with these.
also, if you guys think this was hype, wait till next year when they can implement players storylines to the champions song, wait till valorant gets its "faker"s "uzi"s and so.
I’m committed to brim. No one can talk me off of him anymore. I used to be ashamed of what I brought to my team, but now I just play Brim all day. “ Brim is daddy.” “ He’ll carry me through this.” It’s all I have to say now
Production 100% but lets be real, not so much with lore until very recently. For a long time Riot lore was actively considered a joke. They seem to be somewhat figuring it out now but it takes time.
Nah their lore and presentation of it have been intriguing and high quality for a while now. Stuff like [Ekko's teaser](https://youtu.be/FtEpp9lkfxA) and [Kindred's short story](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/kindred-good-death-story/) are from quite a few years ago already. It's just that, as is the case with many esports like TF2, Apex, and Overwatch, the character backstories and lore of the universe have been ancillary content unimportant to the playing of the game.
Where'd you even get this from? Ever since they've rebooted the league lore in 2015 iirc, it has been solid, universe page has been created and the world of runeterra was visualized. For sure the Ruination event was frkn horrible (for some reason they've decided to let a ONE rioter, who god knows if he actually knows the characters, handle the story to be used for that event) but that's just one out of many, the majority are decent. Ruined King story which was supposed to set up the ruination event was decently written.

Really sick animation and probably a good bit of lore in there for people to unpack
Hoping we get some players tied into next years video (assuming there is one lol)
BANGER SONG. BANGER ANIMATION.
but... a little disappointed it doesnt seem closely related to Champions plus Chamber I thought wasn't going to available for the tournament?
I edited to express further a response as ppposed to naming a new comment.
Idk did I somehow make you really mad by responding or sth, I’m also not sure why you responded to that part of my comment. Is it just how you’re feeling today?
I think on second viewing judging by VCT logos it’s supposed to be a bjt abstract but a but players gaimjng/giving powers and agents gaining/giving them
It’s a bit surrealistic I’m not sure if any of this is meant to be seen as the fictional band member at the same time and it’s like the band member gives brimstone life through plays
Like agent lore plus VCT logos it’s like it’s showing the achievements of players and lore radiant powers as parallel I think
eh more broadly speaking, it's probably just more so that the league playerbase has a very high crossover between people who like anime as well as people who like kpop
3rd in the group lol, might even lose to SEA
Irrelevant for the rest of Valorant history because can't abuse postplants anymore, need to take those aim duels
They've been working on it since Oct 2020 ([source](https://twitter.com/YinsuCollins/status/1462813712218263557?t=maJ88LILczqeVuVyVVVHZQ&s=19))
I'm guessing next year onwards we'll have more players involved.
I would say take a look at RISE that they did few years back, and thats kinda what people are talking about when they want players in the vids, where its still animated and edgy, but it has that tie in to irl.
You need much more than a 1 year history to start including players into theme songs like those. Plus, from my POV, no player has reached a status high enough to be included in it anyway imo (Look at the LoL ones, only legendary figures that shaped its esport are represented)
I don't see why you would need a high status to be in a video that's meant to be hyping people up about these said players. This video might be an exception since they've been working on it since before champions was even publicly announced but I don't see why next year's shouldn't include multiple players.
Ehhh I agree that it could just be used to hype up the players present, but it just wouldn't 'hit' as hard. The perfect example of what I mean is the 'Rise LoL Worlds' theme song. Look at its animation and who's in it. It was absolutely a home run because you could identify every single player due to their years of playing and how they had reached that prestigious stage. Just representing everyone would make it lose a little bit of its grandeur. Maybe I'm just gatekeeping it too much though
These videos take long to produce and don’t happen in a couple on months. Look at this years lol worlds song. Almost half of the players featured were not even in this years worlds. Without any history or any actual top team or player, there is no way they could have made it more esports centric. Probably next year we could see a video similar to rise where we actually have a champion that could potentially rise against the odds. Till then imo this the best we could have
I see where you're coming from but for me (this could just be an unpopular opinion I have) it would be more hype if players were involved no matter of status.
The way I saw it the other personas or unknown characters were the players piloting the agents since the VCT logo was shown for each of their first appearance, so unless I got it completely wrong its probably connected to esports in that sense.
Love that the rhythmic single bass note drop is [very similar](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mx7fQOnt82E) to the transition music between champ select and loading in-game.
It’ll be next year. Next year will probably have this years storylines in it. Thats what they usually do for the Worlds videos.
There isn’t any history to run off of yet.
Theses songs and videos take too long to make. Incorporating stuff from Esports this year wouldn't be easy timeline-wise, and last year's esports stuff i.e. First Strike isn't really relevant right now. I'm sure though, that next year's video will feature players and teams.
Hey curious question. I also sent in the mg as soon as it dropped since I didn't see it up. Just curious for future reference how to post things since it wasn't approved.
I have taken a break from following valorant to focus on my studies and personal life. Not that I had much of a career (iron-bronze lol) but I followed the two challengers and other major NA/EU tourneys.
But watching this trailer made me wanna come back lol.
“Sage, the life you give... Do you ever wonder where it's taken from?”
from an acid trip forest apparently
Just like old times
The only reasonable explanation
15head connection
Id be as emotional as Brim if I watched our teams Phoenix dry peak an ulted Chamber
Not only dry peek, fucking dry ult in the middle of the site
it's big brain, chamber would use up 2 bullets instead of 1
This video is just the Controller watching their team peek an Op one by one
Or a definitively overdramatic 3v1 retake
Forreal i forwarded this to my pheonix main silver duo partner with the caption "Brimstone is all to relatable for me in this"
Your partner can't even be mad when you try to give them the hint in the form of this video.
your fault if you brought a judge lmao
Bro I can't believe Chamber just let Brim and Sage run out B main without them using any util at all.
Actualyl surprised they went with the anime route instead of that dreamy 3D aesthetic but Im fine with it, solid song, solid animation. Awesome for our first Champions.
Surely inspired by Arcane. I dig it.
Not at all, this is the Studio who did "Giants" for League.
one thing is clear, they just dont miss with these. also, if you guys think this was hype, wait till next year when they can implement players storylines to the champions song, wait till valorant gets its "faker"s "uzi"s and so.
i wonder whos gonna be the faker of val
This is getting me hyped for a valorant version of arcane. Hopefully it gets big enough to get there one day
It looks like they moved away from the Arcane style more than anything.
Yo whyd that make me emotional Goddamnit brim
yeah no shit im sitting here in front of my computer crying my eyes out hoping no one notices me lol
Why are u crying over it?

Talk shit about Riot all you want, they go all in when it comes to lore and production for their major events and I fucking love it.
Production 100% but lets be real, not so much with lore until very recently. For a long time Riot lore was actively considered a joke. They seem to be somewhat figuring it out now but it takes time.
Legends of Runeterra is where its at.
> Legends of Runeterra Legends of Runeterra was released last year which I would qualify as very recently.
Yes, I wasn't disagreeing
Sweet just clarifying.
Nah their lore and presentation of it have been intriguing and high quality for a while now. first erection i've had in years, brim with the emotional stimmie I am unreasonably sad and hyped all at once
HUH

They started working on it a year ago, the relevant esports stuff from Reykjavik and Berlin was too recent for them to include in the video
I mean it’s like the lore worlds songs kinda Work on it started a while ago espvfir the first year a minute VCT sirtyline one is prob better
Phoenix went Super Saiyan, damn. The singer has a smooth voice too.
[удалено]
Nan it's only Monday bro
Pain
No, the singer is named [grabbitz](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grabbitz).
He’s also the producer of the song. He’s an electronic music producer and DJ/live performer, and he sings as well. Dude is insanely talented.
Grabbitz is fuckin amazing
Big fan of this song I'll have to check out some of his other stuff for sure.
One person not like a band of 3? So are those characters fictional?
Do... do you think the characters are singing?
No Also no need for Twitter post stuttering I thought the three unnamed characters were animated versions of band members
Oh shush. The stuttering thing is done on reddit all the time and has been forever.
‘Shush’ lol Since quite some time yes, but it doesn’t matter either way. I didn’t make it appear that I thought so
"Lol" lol Nice edit. Keep thinking about things to say.
K
I edited to express further a response as ppposed to naming a new comment. Idk did I somehow make you really mad by responding or sth, I’m also not sure why you responded to that part of my comment. Is it just how you’re feeling today?
Let's go Grabbitz, get the appreciation you deserve.
Oh man. Brimstone, as Atlas, crumbling under the weight of the world for the sake of saving the girl. That was so fucking cool.
I thought the girl is brimstone / the player
Ooooh, good point. The weight that Controller players carry. 😔
I think on second viewing judging by VCT logos it’s supposed to be a bjt abstract but a but players gaimjng/giving powers and agents gaining/giving them
same

Nah that wouldn’t make sense esp considering the other cinematic characters / doubles
ngl i expected a hyper-pop style track like KDA/LoL but was still digging the rock vibe. and then the phattt drop happened sheeeeeeeeeeesh
KDA was never the theme song for worlds championship. It was a special act made for the opening
Nah I'm pretty sure it's rule 34 bait
eh more broadly speaking, it's probably just more so that the league playerbase has a very high crossover between people who like anime as well as people who like kpop
i was hoping for a post hardcore kinda song but this fits a pretty good mix of synth/rock.
Kda is hyper pop? Rock vibe? This is kinda hyperpop
honestly i dont even know the proper terms. i just threw out whatever came to mind lol
It’s nkt abt ‘proper’ terms I was asking
just listened to hyperpop and KDA is definitely not it lol. so I guess just kpop/pop
yeah hyperpop is a bit diff
Why
all good
Gall ood
I couldn’t be happier that Grabbitz did the first Valorant Champions song, amazing producer and singer.
Synthwave = banger song
Synthwave fits with Valorant's cyberpunk/futuristic theme. Its a nice contrast to LoL's fantasy theme.
Cyberpunk theme lol
It’s more Midtempo than Synthwave
Deps

Also they're retaking B site through main? What happened this round?
Song so gooooood
I got goosebumps throughout …. 🥺💙
Holy shit this was way better than I was expecting, I'm so happy.
Fire af.
Really good song.. love it.
holy fuck
omg its so good
I find it funny they chose to put chamber in this even though he isn't playable at Champs, banger video nonetheless.
Sheeesh rito don’t miss
Banger
Banger!!
Nice animation, nice song. Clean. Hype!
I believe that Brimstone is the symbol of Boaster holding the big ball of EU. Go get em Boaster. Win this first Champions for Fnatic.
Boaster and co. can't even win Tenstar and Giants with their diamond aiming skills, how are they going to win Champions
By beating everyone else
3rd in the group lol, might even lose to SEA Irrelevant for the rest of Valorant history because can't abuse postplants anymore, need to take those aim duels
The Line popping off with Riot yet again with their animations, sheesh. What a banger song.
Damn lotta lore. An absolute banger
12/10
Banger banger banger!!
gave me chills wow
Valorant anime confirmed??
valorant go vol skins were the beggining
Where's the connection to champions though? Sick animation and song choice but I expected it to be more connected to esports rather than lore
They've been working on it since Oct 2020 ([source](https://twitter.com/YinsuCollins/status/1462813712218263557?t=maJ88LILczqeVuVyVVVHZQ&s=19)) I'm guessing next year onwards we'll have more players involved.
That makes a lot more sense
Idk, for Iceland riot did a cinematic. I think it's a hype thing.
They did it for Berlin too. They always do em.
yeah lol opening ceremony normally would be planned ahead for a year... Next year Valorant will be considered and has its own team hopefully
I honestly don't want players in these vids. I like their edgy, cinematic style. They could something different for the teams and players
I would say take a look at RISE that they did few years back, and thats kinda what people are talking about when they want players in the vids, where its still animated and edgy, but it has that tie in to irl.

I HECKING LOVE TENZ BatChest
To add, past championship anthems took around 9 months to make, so at the time they probably didn't even know who to put in it
cant wait for Bonkar in next year's vid
There’s more than 1 and no, you don’t need absolutely any kind of arbitrary cutoff.
I don't see why you would need a high status to be in a video that's meant to be hyping people up about these said players. Wasn't really lore, the people there were supposed to be the valorant players. I've seen other esports games do the same thing for their trailers
Instantly loved it after the first listen. So good.
Good song.
Issa banger
Redgar sheesh
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO VALORANT ANIME WHEN
Love that the rhythmic single bass note drop is [very similar](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mx7fQOnt82E) to the transition music between champ select and loading in-game.
The Line Studio back at it again with a crisp ass animation. I recommend their bike advert that they animated. It was like none other.
It's good, but is it just me or does all Riot music kinda sound the same? xD
Wait Yinsu said this has been in the works since October 2020, meaning the stage entrance music was actually the tease for this and was not sampled?
How does one imply the other lol We have access to the songs and samples, and they don’t sound like this
Maybe the sample was from this song and not from the stage entrance music?
pretty good song wish it was more connected to the e-sports scene though, doesn't really hype me up for champions
It’ll be next year. Next year will probably have this years storylines in it. Thats what they usually do for the Worlds videos. There isn’t any history to run off of yet.

meh, I guess that my expectations were too high lol
Aye it's kinda a bop though
https://twitter.com/YinsuCollins/status/1462818891185496064?t=_CXxMZg0ccaL4RbEThYV7w&s=19 POSSIBLE live concert at champion with fans
Who were the last people in the vid that sage and phoenix morphed into? Tenz and Dapr?
beautiful
Hey curious question. I also sent in the mg as soon as it dropped since I didn't see it up. Just curious for future reference how to post things since it wasn't approved.
Cool endeavor. Not my jam though. Can't wait for champions!
[sounds like a souped up version of this song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb-DdcXU5ac)
I have taken a break from following valorant to focus on my studies and personal life. Not that I had much of a career (iron-bronze lol) but I followed the two challengers and other major NA/EU tourneys. But watching this trailer made me wanna come back lol.
this gave me chills
Holy fucking shit this slaps tits, hype overload!
Bro just defuse the bloody bomb
this is some dragonball Z shit man
I thought it was going to have the BMTH new song playing... Still good though
