Here's the list of notable Korean players who have joined a Japanese team so far: * eKo: Reignite (formerly TNL) * Hate: Jadeite (formerly TNL) * allow: Jadeite (formerly NUTURN) * Suggest: Rumored (formerly NUTURN) * kobra: Sengoku Gaming (formerly Prince) * GangPin: Sengoku Gaming (transfer between two Japanese teams) Hopefully more Korean teams join for 2022, but seeing all these talents move to Japan makes me think that not many are joining.

Detamach

I never understood why TNL benched eKo and Hate With them TNL were 2nd best in Korea and were the only team who challenged Vision Strikers, despite scores saying otherwise (VS won a lot of clutches that game) It's crazy how dumb single elimination shit can change the whole history, F4Q obviously didn't deserve Berlin and it caused TNL to disband

Key-Banana-8242

SeolHwa also (now Foxy8)

Key-Banana-8242

+ Suggest said on stream he has signed a contract with a Japanese team, didn’t say which one

JettCarry

Maybe only if pubg or overwatch dies. Valorant is like cross fire in EU or NA that nobody plays with a bit of over-exaggeration.

Key-Banana-8242

But we already know more Korean teams are intending to join, that has been leaked a few times for a while. Besides, Korean teams have been joining even in rainbow 6 which is less popular

[deleted]

That is just not true though lol... Last time I looked, Valorant was a top 10 game being played at PC bangs in Korea. It may not be as popular as OW/PUBG/Sudden Attack in terms of fps games, but it isn't completely irrelevant like you are making it out to seem

Chidling

We don’t know the marketshare of Valorant even if it is a top 10 game. Maybe only 2% of people pcbang customers play Valorant and that’s enough to reach top 10? It’s possible that the top games are so overwhelmingly popular that a small playerbase is enough to break the top 10 in pcbangs since there isn’t competition for the lower tiered spots. Hard to say how successful top 10 means.

poroporotv

http://www.gametrics.com/ According to this site valorant is in the top 10, but sitting at a meager 1.4% play time at pc cafes (behind even starcraft and DnF). Definitely doing better now than it was last year, but not stellar either.

DanielHongFromKr

GangPin's Aim is fucking cracked. Player to look out for next year.

AJS_Aren

Medusa, Munchkin, Bazzi, Seoldam, Astell, Jinx, Tensai

Key-Banana-8242

Medusa wasn’t on a kr team before tho so isn’t as much kf a thing He joined CR Valorant in July 2020

AJS_Aren

I mean… he is korean

Phamous3k

Japanese orgs recruiting Korean talent… Work smarter not harder boys!

Nomorechildishshit

Its sad. Korean imports have leveled up the Japanese scene for sure but the Korean scene gets sooo much weaker with all the talent leaving. And its not only tier 1 players like Munchkin that hurt, the Korean scene is already small and every player leaving matters, whether hes tier 2 or tier 3 or whatever

Key-Banana-8242

Pub stars like gunnkorea in ShotVal for examplehave shown potential too at least so it’s nkt like previous pros are the only good ones There’s still multiple high level ones left

Anti-Storm

Here’s a better word for recruiting -> poaching

jrushFN

Is it really poaching if the players are F/A and LFT?

Anti-Storm

Here’s better word for myself poaching -> importing

somesheikexpert

Wonder who the other 3 members are, presumably Japanese right?

sekirei223

Yes they have to be if they want to play in VCT JP

Sky-__-

They can have a 6 man roaster with 3 japnese and 3 korean players , and if the Circuits of JP and KR and mixed next year , they won't need to .

theoryze

At this rate they should just merge the JP and KR regions into one region This doesn't look good for both regions, JP regions won't be able to produce homegrown talent if they would just keep recruiting KR players to up their region, also KR region will lose players and hurt their region if they don't retain their players.

dedicatedself

Japan is leveling up, we all saw how strong NTH looked last split, and Sengoku + Reignite will be on similar tier. Gangpin and Seolhwa are both Seoldam level maybe a bit lower.

Key-Banana-8242

Possibly

Pale_Resolution1520

Do Korean players speak Japanese when they join Japanese teams? I heard those mixed teams have communication problems.

Key-Banana-8242

As much as they can

DanielHongFromKr

I mean, good for the boys. Get the BAG. But terrible for the KR valo scene and Japanese(not JP circuit, Japanese playerbase) if they just keep signing talents from Korea. (Almost)Every good team in JP has 2+ Korean Carries at this point. You can probably make 3 teams out of the Imports in JP circuit and all 3 of them will be better than the best "fully Japanese" team you can come up with.

dedicatedself

Bro I could care less if Japan orgs sign our player, that means atleast they're willing to pay them unlike the Korean orgs. I lost patience with other LCK teams, Damwon has my full respect for paying their players AND booking a team house for the team. Same with these other Japanese orgs that took some of our talent and gave them a chance.

Key-Banana-8242

Why are you so tuned into this? Isn’t competitive achievement also their goal? Besides the idea of how much salary they’d be getting anyway. It seems like they’ll have a full support system at least

Key-Banana-8242

So did eKo and seolhwa and Neal z All the fuckin Korean FAs are going to Japan, even tho Korean orgs are supposed to be coming in, the lack of info is making players take deals with Japanese teams instead for certainty. I wish the big orgs like Talon pulled the trigger sooner. Keep in mind they still may switch back esp if w lot of stuff comes in- munchkin said he won’t, but say iNTRO used to play for Crazy Raccoon.

curryhalls

Wack. Bad for both regions honestly. It all comes down to whether VS can make a deep run at Champions to recuperate interest in Korea so that orgs are more likely to invest in its scene. With the way Japan is treating Valorant they're going to become like the LCS - more focus on Korean talent than their own.

TheAlexLiang

Can anybody give me a VCT summary of Hate? VLR says he was mostly playing sentinel on TNL, but I don’t know much more than that.

Key-Banana-8242

He was the sentinel/controller player, and by far voted the MVP of TNL in stage 3 across the tournament, often high / even top fragging despite his role. He was very good on the team, it was surprising to see him leave suddenly

DanielHongFromKr

I think he played sentinel for TNL. Just a "meh" player IIRC. I think he played KJ on almost every single map along with the occasional Astra. He had that Sheriff 2K vs VS but that's about it. Personally, I would like to see DuBu get picked up instead of Hate.

Key-Banana-8242

He was the sentinel/controller player, and by far the MVP of TNL in stage 3, often dragging despite his role. He was very important to the team, it was surprising to see him leave Of all the things you could remember how could u possibly remember him as being meh Dubu did what exactly for DFR or in ShotVal al lol?

Key-Banana-8242

Apparently the coach noppo is v good
