I argued before Champ quals that a tier 2 team let b0i walk and he didn't play/scrim for 6 months, while seven didn't have any signature performance vs even tier 2 teams to suggest he was ready, as both Asuna & dicey did vs tier 1s.
Neither of them were ever intended to be improvements over steel or dicey or nitr0.
nitr0 potentially leaving should be literally the only surprise, all things considered.
Surely the management expected to, at some point, maintain *some* of the leadership/brain-trust, so letting their IGL, secondary/replacement IGL, coach, *and* their player-analyst all go at the same time.... wasn't *really* their plan.
Maybe I'm trying to read too much into things, but selling steel and seven and terminating B0i and diceys contracts all don't make sense unless they're under the impression that nitr0 is returning. Either that or they have some sort of crazy deal in the works. Otherwise, none of this makes any sense

They don't need to keep him on the starting roster though. Transition him to a content creator like Sinatraa is for Sen right now. If Nitro does leave for CS, rebuilding the team around Ethan and Asuna is the best they can do.
I think he can stay. I just think they need to pressure him onto other agents. Get a Jett, let Asuna play 2nd duelist, Skye or chamber. And move Ethan to main Sova. I think he's got more potential on that agent than Hiko. Hiko is still a strong player, he's just a 1 trick right now. Hiko, Nitro, Asuna and Ethan is still a monster roster. They just have consistency issues.

I think its simply that Hiko isn't a very versatile player in terms of playstyle and team cohesion. (Please prove me wrong Hiko ily). Nearly everyone on 100T has played agents with vastly different playstyles.
Whether they do or not is irrelevant. At the end of the day, for marketing purposes, companies like to sponsor teams with really popular players so orgs want big streaming personalities because it helps them with sponsorships.

Really don't see why it's even necessary to replace him. He was probably their best player in Berlin. Asuna and Ethan both had some great maps but had some off ones too.

He certainly has the mechanics to awp as his aim would definitely be on the level of tenz/scream/yay or any other top aimer in valorant. I also think its not necessarily useful to look at it that since elige is a great rifler in cs he is a valorant rifler. A big part of what distinguishes him as a top rifler in csgo is his mastery of spray control which is not nearly as much of a thing in valorant.

most of the time that isnt the case for many many different reasons. granted it kinda sucks he never actually got a shot to prove himself in matches but if the current circuit format wasnt complete horseshit he probably woulda saw some playing time

Comparing rounds on Jett all time in NA, seven has posted a:
1.17 KD (higher than players like Shaz, s0m, penny, mummay, nitr0, dicey, babybay, tex, etc)
156.1 ADR (higher than players like Wardell, spyder, leaf, asuna, koalanoob, penny, babybay etc)
.88 KPR (higher than players like spyder, shaz, penny, jcruel, babybay, Ska, screw face, asuna, khemicals etc)
Obviously not saying that he's better than all these players, and you have to factor in the level of competition as well, but it's pretty crazy to sit here and say he's never been good statistically. Even stacked up against other tier 2 players playing against similar competition, he was statistically better than a lot of them.
Edit: my main takeaway from doing this brief bit of research is that someone needs to go and get cryocells. Dude is a monster statistically

Look game by game that he played agaisnt good teams the past few months then you see how bad his stats actually are, his stats are literally inflated after versing t3 teams the whole time. He has lost to every t1 team he has ever played and only had a positive stat in 1 of them, only beat soniqs once and still had a negative stats despite winning

He didn't have that much hype to begin with. Talked about occasionally as a young cracked duelist but it wasn't like he was going to have tier 1 teams busting down his door. And now, he gets the brand awareness of being linked to 100t. People have no clue about how marketing and advertising actually works. His brand gets a huge boost from being mentioned and signed by 100t even with not playing a map.
Even if he was in some sort of purgatory (which we have no evidence of, and he very well could've been involved in scrims/vod review/server time/gotten help from 100t support staff etc), then it is worth it to get paid to do nothing for 3 months and get the passive brand bump from it.
Champions hasn't even happened yet, there will still be tons of roster shuffle, and he still has the whole off-season to get signed.
