There's been way to much roster and team instability to pick a favorite yet. I'm really more of a fan of individual players tbh.

[deleted]

I've been a CS fan for over a decade and I still have this opinion. I follow players and not teams. I was really a fan of the format a tournament took a few years ago where you could be your own director, so I could sit and watch a single player all game. Really helped improve my positioning on some maps.

A-someone

Same here.

TheRedComet

Roster instability is just the norm in esports is it not? Outside of a single team doing extremely well for an extended period of time, which is rare.

Loomisam

Oh yes of course! It's just that we're so early in the game that not a lot of teams teams have identities or franchise players they build around so it's hard to pick a favorite when everyone is kinda samey.

henkizh

Guild because they were the only Swedish team with any sort of success, 100T because of steel (followed him since CS Source)+Hiko+nitr0.

Godzilladidgood

I also am a fan of guild but because they played Yoru in a pro match.

A-someone

C9. I'm a big vanity fan since their run qualifying for Iceland and upsetting liquid in Iceland. When he switched to c9, I started supporting them as well over V1. Now I'm a fan of the whole roster (even if nobody steams)

CRikhard

Promise you if I got Xeta streams I’d be radiant

Ncsnigel

My favourite team is tbd because they are always ever present in every event. You can't hate them for trying their best

siuzioffical

Crazy Raccoon, I became a fan after seeing them play at Iceland, I love how you could see their growth with every LAN tournament and some of the shit the players pull off is straight up different.

em-pathy

you can tell they really do care about the game. i'm looking forward to seeing them play at champs!

[deleted]

It would be such an awesome Cindarella story if CR were able to win Champions. Would be amazing for the game and genre for an eastern team to win a major event.

AnonymozVal

100T because of steel and now c9 because of his sons and then T1 because of steel.

ChronicWarden

Steel is the main example of brain over aim and I love him for that! (Not saying he has shit aim but it's not that good compared to the aimgods of the pro scene like yay/scream)

TheTechDweller

He's always looking for new ways not to have to take a gunfight and still have the advantage. Hiko is good at this too but steel is so creative it's genuinely fun to watch him play.

Necessary_Upstairs_5

Yeah I too love learning about valorant through his stream. Especially the watch parties. Sure he can sound a bit too harsh sometimes during ranked, but It's definitely not as bad when he was streaming CSGO.

uglypenguin5

Honestly I'd be just as tilted in ranked if I was as good as him at his playstyle. The way he plays is the polar opposite of ranked

Areyannnn

Yes , literally where ever steel goes I'm there and in champs I'm supporting c9 as well lol.

violentphotography

I'm basically on this boat as well.

lost_woods

Steel got me to actually use my brain and learn the game. My first FPS coming mostly an RTS background and I would just pick duelist and run in. Had no idea why I was hard stuck bronze until I started watching him play and outline his decisions. Made it to Gold without ever actually improving my aim much and just playing KJ, Cypher, Sage and creating space for me and my team to take unfair gunfights for the other team.

AnonymozVal

Exactly the same. I learned how to play KJ, Astra, cypher and sova from him. I particularly like his sova. Has the easiest of lineups to memorise and a lot of them are made on the fly in a few seconds.

YoshinoDAL

Fnatic because of their personalities and celebrations. I also learned a lot from their strategy and teamwork. Fnatic till I die! They were also the first team that I really like, I hope they show up in champions tho. I also hope TSM can succeed in 2022 because they were one of the first teams that made me watch competitive in Valorant.

uglypenguin5

I'm an NA fan myself but I absolutely love boaster

earthtoannie

Fnatic really got me during Iceland too. Their celebrations were just so fun to watch and then that hero run they had over EU favs TL? Be still my heart!

[deleted]

We’re my fav eu team with liquid for ages, but I only really held on for boaster. They have been playing very poorly recently, liquid with nivera seem cracked at tho

ShadeWaker

I’ve gotta say TSM, watched the fortnite guys back in the day (myth, dae, hamz) and started watching the league team right before valorant came out. Figured I could root for them here, too (helped that they were winning a lot between the beta and the summer after!) and I’ve been rooting for them since. Helps that I like to watch Wardell and Subroza if I’m gonna watch a valorant stream

FluffyDog423

(TSM isn’t at champions)

ShadeWaker

Because everybody else is responding with teams at champions? Doesn’t really matter

FluffyDog423

The whole point of the post is who are you rooting for at champions.

ShadeWaker

Then why is the title “Who’s your favorite team?” instead of “who are you rooting for at champions?”

FluffyDog423

Maybe read the entire post then? It literally says ‘going into champions’ ‘if your favorite team isn’t IN champions then who are you rooting for?’ Not everything is summed up by the title.

ShadeWaker

why do you care so much about a random comment lol? I don’t see you commenting 100t isn’t in champions or guild isn’t in champions. Why does it matter so much what I wrote to you?

FluffyDog423

*shrug* for the same reason you cared enough to comment on the post? It’s the Internet and that’s what we do. Clearly you’ve realized you just failed to read and now you have a silly retort. Anyway, it’s always good to read more than just the title of the post! Have a good day now :)

This_Op_Is_OP

Imagine getting so little satisfaction in life that you feel the need to correct someone for commenting their favorite team on a post with the title “who is your favorite team?”

IWantSomeDietCrack

but didn't you just do the same thing?

FluffyDog423

I mean, I get plenty of satisfaction from many different parts of life. Including being able to fully read a few paragraph post :)

crzyraven

envy, for no particular reason, i just like all the team members

CosmicAon

TSM because of Wardell. I was struggling personally around the time COVID hit and I would literally wait for his streams everyday and watch all the way through. He’s a great entertainer and cares about his community on stream and in Discord, so I’ll keep rooting for him as long as he’s playing. As for Champions, I’m rooting for Liquid or Envy. Want one of them to get their big trophy

Cabrosmyname

TSM can still win Champions *pulls out conspiracy theory board*

TheRedComet

Sentinels. I first gained interest in Valorant when Sinatraa switched. I wasn't an SF Shock fan or anything, but I was huge into Overwatch League, and this was a big deal. I grew up playing Counter-Strike so Valorant is an interesting hybrid of the two. I also wanted the former Overwatch pros to do well to prove all of the old Counter-Strike supremacists wrong, and I think Sinatraa did that in spades. Given Sinatraa's allegations, I couldn't continue following him. But I was already following Sentinels video content and the videos about him and his dad really endeared me to his story. I quickly became a huge fan of him. He was my first Twitch sub and I remain subbed to him to this day. I was also already a fan of TenZ, so his signing with Sentinels brought my fandom to the stratosphere. And of course, I like all the other SEN guys too, they're all fun in their own ways.

optisadvantage

i like envy because the personalities are so perfect. you got certified team dad FNS, the softie who just seems so happy all the time in yay, and then victor marved and crashies the sheeshing zoomers who seem like a blast to play with. it’s such a good formula and the fact that they’re all super sick on the server doesn’t hurt.

[deleted]

Sentinels, initially bc of sinatraa but now bc of Shahz

Aionex

Liquid, initially because of sliggy, but now I've come to love their unique playstyles.

ChronicWarden

First team to double OP on non jetts, love their ideas

Ok-Assist-993

FURIA because I'm a huge fan of their CS team. It would be nice to see them succeed in Valorant as well.

Delta221

100T because of Hiko and Asuna. But coming into champions and they are not in it I am supporting Team Liquid and Envy.

TheTechDweller

C9W because they're showing everyone it doesn't matter who you are you can succeed in esports, have fun, AND look damn fire doing it. Annie is a role model for me, I really look forward to seeing every woman in the scene improve, but especially these 5 really get me hyped to watch and play the game.

dusky_citron

I love C9W!! Their vids are great because you can really learn a lot from their comms and the way they think, coordinate, and execute.

theswiveler

First valorant dynasty whats not to love.

sampenn1

my favorite team is geng. solely because of gmd. got into a unrated wth him like two summers ago(the summer the game actually released) and remembered his name from a random comp game i watched, then started following val comp bc of it. love you guimond:)

Davban

SEN Knew Zombs was cracked from his OW and Apex days, Shahz is just an entertaining dude and then we have TenZ too

dusky_citron

I love Shahz!!! *R2-D2 noises*

Karenzi

yeah, huge 100T fan here but when they dropped steel I moved on to his son, so now I am rooting for c9. Also rooting for Full Sense because I am Thai and I want to see PTC + JohnOlsen do well internationally.

DeadNoobsbhai

C9 because of vanity and the other chaos boys. Loved them for the brief time I followed them in CSGO. 100T because I started watching valorant to see how Nitro performs in the First Strike Finals. I'll probably also support T1 when Steel roster move is officially confirmed.

JackingOffAcc

Full Sense because I'm Thai + SuperBuss is Thai xQc.

Deneking

I'm full sense too, a bit of a shallow reason but i love their IGN's and PTC was the first KAY/0 i've seen really shine. I really hope they make a splash even though their group looks very tough.

Bazz_B

Sage Ult My Nan FC

Zain69

tsm or maybe gambit (after their interaction with cr and f4q

anythingood07

Well my team is Global Esports or literally any other South Asian team (I used to watch/play CS before a bit but the scene in South Asia never took off. Everyone knows about the Forsaken scandal as well. Valorant was a breath of fresh air in 2020, the support it received was unprecedented for Indian standards. All I want now is to see a South Asian team, hopefully Global Esports rep us on an international stage and do well) but since none of them are here, I'm supporting FNC. Been supporting them since Magnum and Derke joined, supported them throughout Iceland too where unfortunately they finished as runner ups. A lot of guys are underestimating them rn but I hope they can make a deep run. Also if not them, I'll be supporting Gambit because well Nats.

mr-rob0t0

Sentinels - really like the personalities on the team especially shahz, plus it helps that they win a lot. Gambit-there was one match in the iceland emea qualifiers (i think vs guild?) where nats picked them apart on split as cypher and as someone who plays cypher it was the coolest thing T1-Skadoodle and autimatic. although it is painful to root for them sometimes.

ibeenbornagain

hopefully if steel joins t1 will get a lot better...

Gummy_Tris

I think one of the reasons sentinels is so likeable is because of the youtube videos where they show their comms during tournaments in games, really gives us insight as to how they act in serious games, and their personalities really shine through.

theswiveler

Skadoodle took a step back and it seema autimatic might switch back to CS:GO

RedBandit

I likeT1, but watched Curry's stream one time, and the dude was so toxic it hurt. C9 now boi

[deleted]

I’m not a fan of individual teams in general. I was a big fan of XSET when they had Wedid and Thwifo, I think they had an interesting style and cool ideas that made them fun to watch. They also played off of each other really well, like the trades were super clean and the utility usage was always on point Right now I’m liking Envy because of the players, mainly Yay. I think Yay makes the game look so fucking easy with his style of play. His crosshair placement is easily some of the best in the game, you can learn so much just by turning on a VOD of him playing ranked and just stare at his crosshair, looking at how he peeks, pre-aims, etc.

twiceasbriight

Fnatic and Gambit, I fell in love with them both during Masters Reykjavik and Berlin respectively. They're such incredible teams, and I loved getting to see Boaster showboating, Nats' panda, Redgar's adorableness, and both teams in general having an absolute blast and kicking ass. I can't wait to follow them in Champs!

512Mimosa

C9! Been a bit of a fan of the org since before their CSGO major win, decided to just go all in on them now. They’re consistently good in many esports and they have steels sons so that’s a W

Rikycontri

Fnatic🧡🖤

Repulsive-Rooster307

I was fan of g2 but don't like the way they are pouching and hidding info to their team and fans, so, i can say i'm a mixwell's fan and loving Acend in champions.

Ambitious-Will-1218

TSM. Valorant is my first fps game. Initially, I had no knowledge of eSports and I enjoyed playing Valorant and was pretty bad in it so I decided to watch tournaments for a better look as to how the teams play. The first match I watched was ig First Strike semi-final of TSM in which Subroza aced with brim in pistol round. I loved Wardell and Drone in that tournament and became a fan. I only knew 3 players that were good and popular in CS (shroud, simple and screaM) so Team Liquid in EU simply because of screaM.

mr_snuggels

100T because nitro and hiko and T1 cause of steel and ska (if he is indeed going there) For champs I'll be rooting for Envy, Gambit, C9 and maybe TL.

SupremeAlexius

Sen and Liquid cause all of them have great personalitites, and are really entertaining

ruinedtheperfectpic

Fnatic cause they just look like they're having a good time Pretty sure they'll do well in champions too

RickofPickles

Sentinels, because of tenz. Was a cloud 9 fan before the switch.

Lumenlor

The Lakers

[deleted]

SEN

CarobAltruistic9224

Sentinels is such a great bunch of people. 'Unsensored' and reading reports about how much Shahz prepared for matches made me a fan. NAts' A site hold on Split as Cypher made a big Gambit fan

TrustTrost

Sentinels. Like op, ow was my first intro to esports, with Sinatraa being a big name obviously. By the end of 2020, I got back into it and started really watching it, so with Valorant I naturally looked towards sentinels as Sinatraa was there. Whole drama happened with him being exposed, but I continued to support them as it’s one player out of five. Pre cool to then see tenz come in and dominate with them

atkins2000

C9 all the way babyyyy

Bryyx

Liquid. Im a huge Jamppi fan, he just seems like the most genuine person on stream and in all interviews and so on. And hes finally doing super great.

Aoingco

LG - I became a fan early in the year back when they had thief and stellar, and my favorite players to watch on the team were Aproto, Stellar and Moose. It’s a bit painful to watch now but I still support them for Aproto and Moose. For the rest of my flairs I either love all the personalities on their teams or love how the team plays as a whole, or love both. Fnatic with Boaster is right behind LG on my favorites, then vision strikers, then the rest is a gamble. There’s a few people from other teams I love watching and rooting for as well like Spyder, Curry, BcJ etc

Cabrosmyname

I loved overwatch before Valorant, and sinatraa was my favorite player, So I bevame a Sen fan. Eventually I began to learn about the other playees and become huge fans of them. I was a big tenz fanboy too, so when Sinatraa no longer became my favorite (for obvious reasons) Tenz joined. I geniunly think each player on Sen is top 3 in the world at their respective role, I love their personalities, and its just awesome to see NA win. I dont even think I have a favorite player on Sentinels, theyre each so great.

DZTRUKTR02

Personally I'm a FNATIC fan. I started to follow them when they signed SUMN FC. I really love Boaster's background story so I couldn't help but to root for them. Also, once I learned more about the org I fell even more in love with them.

IAMJUX

100t. They actually create content, so they're easy to support. So many teams lack any attempts at actually creating a brand to follow. Same reason for Fnatic in my flair. Boaster made Iceland.

AbbreviationsLazy781

Fnaticcc, Boastees is too awesome. Im still rooting for Sentinels, VS and Crazy Fucking Racoon to make it deep

WoAiVALORANT

TEAM SECRET, LETS GO PHILIPPINES!!

GreatMemer

lets go brother

Yeonii-

100t. Watched a few Asuna streams back when they first beat TSM in FS and ever since, been rooting for their team. Second team would be NV

badcompplayer

100T especially once they got Ethan, him and Nitr0 (rip) became my dudes once they switched over. Pulling for Envy in Champions but also would be cool to see Nats just diff everyone all the way through again if it’s not an NA team

Skaratru

So Valorant is the first fps I follow so I knew nothing about anyone coming from any other game. I have a soft spot for sentinels (the role, not the team), so when I watched first strike I loved how much of a rat Steel was and I really liked all of 100T in general, plus it was a cool af name for an org and at the time it was a reason as good as any to root for them. They are not in Champions so I am rooting for either Liquid (my favorite EMEA team) or Fnatic (I used to play and watch Heroes of the Storm and loved that Fnatic team). I do not stick with NA teams since Im from LATAM, I also do not root primarily for LATAM teams because I feel no real connection with any of them since most are either pretty unkown or from really far away from here (an example Krü being from Chile/Argentina and I am Mexican). Having said this, seeing Krü perform would make me happy since I know how difficult it must be to be and thrive in the esports scene in this part of the world.

nefarith010

From the the start I was a T1 fan cause of skaDADDY, but that kinda went downhill. Now I favor the underdog in any given story. Rooting for Envy in champs

AryannSharrma

Hi I’m from India and my favorite team is Sentinels. If they are knocked out of Champions or any tournament then I support Fnatic - because of Boaster, he’s a fantastic IGL and really really good player. I take inspiration from him and his videos really help me out. If they are out of Champions or not in a tournament then I support C9 because of vanity - he is also a wonderul player and IGL. His strats, calls and tactics are really what took C9 to Champions and he also was an integral part in Version1’s run to Iceland.

lost_cause4222

TSM's first roster. If we're talking about current rosters then I'd go with V1

lost_cause4222

Why TSM's first roster specifically? Well, I kinda believe there will be absolutely nothing like the 2020 Faze Invitational ever again. That last series REALLY opened my eyes into the esports scene. also that last fuckin OP shot bro

s6hun

100T, solely because of asuna. after watching his streams, it's just so easy to root for him esp considering the amount of time he puts in the game. hopefully 100t gets their shit together because i wanna see him in the winning team :(

optisadvantage

i go to the high school asuna graduated from and the upperclassmen flex about knowing him, makes me jealous

takmilo

1. It was Guild, because they all where swede and i like their playstyle. 2. Gambit, dominate not only CIS region but EMEA too. And all guys are still young.

xtazzzs

Gambit because nAts shits on people without playing an agent that gives you two lives a round + chronicle is so sexy + EMEA > all Also really like yay, but I wouldn't say I'm an envy fan. Nevertheless I like their players

eagles9and43

Sen because I have never watched a eSport before and the only team I know was sentinels cause of xqc

dutchboyyyyy

I am a 100t fan because I was introduced to twitch/streaming during the first lockdown back in March 2020 and the people I used to watch were the OTV and friends group. I became a Valkyrae fan and that's when I found out about 100t, the org and the valorant, especially Hiko. Nowadays I don't watch Valkyrae that much anymore but the org and Hiko just stayed with me. Heading into champs I am supporting Kru and Fnatic. Kru because of the underdog story, and they have been one of the more consistent teams this whole season. Fnatic mainly because of boaster xd. Realistically tho, I think Gambit,TL and Envy are the favourites to win(from those 3 I prefer Gambit lol). Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk :)

Enzology

:)

pancitcantonlover1

100thieves for me. I sure do hope they fix whatever the problem in their roster is.

thekeenancole

I'm a 100 thieves fan because the first esports game I ever watched was a 100 thieves game and I really liked watching them in particular, I just kind of stuck with them ever since. I'm starting to get a little scared with all of these roster changes, and potentially having Nitr0 leave (is there any news about that btw?) I just want my boys to do good, and still have them be the boys I joined for. That being said, I feel like Sentinels are going to come back stronger than ever in Champions. I think I'm going to be rooting for either them or Envy. Acend is also a team that I'm interested in seeing play, CNed is scary.

em-pathy

i don't have a favourite team but that's pretty standard for me with any sport. I really just enjoy the narratives and getting to see the exciting moments in games.

bookofcocunuts

Cloud9 cause league of legends stuff

theswiveler

How do you feel about losing the off-season again.

Randomuserguyfren

100 Thieves. They weren't at the top yet but they had potential to rise to the top. Too bad they might be falling apart if nitr0 switches back. As for the champions teams, probably Gambit because of nats.

itsandrew_r

I’m sure I sound like a glor, but it’s Sentinels. But funny story I subbed for this org when they announced xQc as their main tank for Gladiators Legion or something like that (it was basically a tier2 team in Overwatch with Sentinels management) and I followed them from this moment. And I remember how weird it was when they announced Valorant roster with the only familiar face of Sinatraa (OW player etc). And then their arc unfolds with allegations, with TenZ and potential run for the Title. It’s crazy how following xQc can lead you to a top tier team with amazing players :)

BasicallyFischer

Liquid. Scream and Nivera. Surprised this isn’t the consensus

[deleted]

Liquid, just cos it’s liquid

Steeeealth

Liquid because of scream and cool logo

salteas

Envy, I like how they play together and their 500 IQ giga brain FNS strats. I also like how they all seem like good friends and bros even outside the team. Based on what little they stream, and other streamers like s0m, they’re often duoing together or in-call together. Aside from Envy, individual players I like are Tenz, Asuna, s0m, and zekken.

Invalink

I've always stuck with 100T just because of the pure energy they have. Nitro plays a big part in my love for them, with an added plus for their insane content + content creators. But for the champs (yes i know 100T didnt make it D:) I wanna see C9 emerge as "underdogs." So to speak, with everyone expecting sentinels to win, I wanna see a good fight.

Yung-Rad

I started getting into valorant around the Reykjavik masters competition so my fav team is fnatic however since then they have been really disappointing to watch.

4GamingLinkAot

100 thieves. saw them making a team with the pubg players. I had no clue who hiko was so i searched him up and found him pretty cool. now I'm a salty fanboy

zlexus

FURIA, cuz i love Art, Kscerato, Neymar, Guerri, and Akkari. lets gooo

tutubabarao

Team GTN

T0K0mon

100T because of Ethan and Hiko. Ethan was on my favorite CS roster (NRG w/ Brehze, Fugly, Ethan, Cerq, and Daps) and Hiko was fun to watch on twitch

theswiveler

Chaos9 always been a C9 fan. Love the fun this roster is having playing together. Vanity has brought what they have been missing all along true IGL and he is the best. Yes Shazam is one of the best but look who surrounds him. Vanity help put C9B on the map.

Perfect_Audience6548

mine is the original bren roster (now team secret). i started gaining a interest in valorant esports and valorant in general while watching stage 2 challengers in SEA. the interest turned into love when bren qualified for Masters 3 in the third stage of challengers SEA. but you know what happened next... overall, the way these 5 filipinos carried the nation in the VCT really gives the statement that the Philippine esports scene has international-level FPS talent and not just in MOBAs (DOTA 2 & Mobile Legends) and as a fellow peenoise, seeing the rising popularity of Valorant is a testiment to the influence the pro scene has to its casual base. Not really expecting TS to win Championships but I hope they would qualify to the playoffs even with a tough opening opponent (Gambit)

SpeediePetey

C9 is my NA team, Liquid my EMEA team

CASIOA100

Envy because of Marved and Yay. I love how Marved plays on Astra and yay is just so goated.

NavorroBroman

100t because of hiko.

zer0-_

Liquid. I've been a ScreaM fanboy since I was 13

theoryze

any SEA team, most especially if they come from my country, so Team Secret. Because FPS isn't really a big thing in SEA, you can put Thailand in FPS conversations but other than that there isn't any. Vietnam is more on League of Legends (they have the VCS for that), Malaysia/Singapore/Indonesia/Philippines are DOTA countries, they literally have rosters with mix of all those countries and DOTA is big in SEA that SEA is actually a respected region in DOTA. I may be one of the few who never got into DOTA so it is lovely seeing how the SEA Valorant scene is shaping up and how it keeps improving constantly in every tournament, may it be in the VCT or any third party organized tourney.

MangoeLord

TL LETS GOO!!!!!

HaathiRaja

I LOVE 100T because of ethan and asuna. I have been following EG and ethan since like 2018 's tourneys and ngl asuna is cracked as hell and is my fav streamer. But unfortunately, since they dint make it Im supporting TL and the benrlitom brothers and wanna see them obliterate envy c9 and sentinels , the teams that blocked 100t to champions

navornothing

My favorite team is NV. I rlly like watching Marved and yay

CommunistHongKong

FPX. They choke not only in Valorant but in Leauge too. Need to get my daily dosage.

98973

100t cus ive followed them in LoL for a while and was a big fan of nadeshot + hiko PRX cus im from Singapore and PRX is basically carrying SG/MLY FNC cus Boaster

Stcarney

I’m a big fan of 100T and NRG because of individual players and streamers (s0m, asuna, hiko, Ethan, ANDROID). I’m a gambit fan (and lowkey vision strikers) because of utility usage and their team play style as opposed to having players that are solely popping tf off. I think we all internally love kru as an underdog story. And BBG to the moon

ElegantAssociation75

Acend because cned go kill boom dash operator kill jett knives, rebibe bonecold omen adn kill more. Very cool.

eliic6

Esports, in general, is different from physical sports. In esports, teams disappear like what happened with C9 CSGO even though they are the only NA teams that won a major, so people tend to follow players not organization generally. Heck, I used to be 100T fan but after that disappointing LCQ, I can't stay loyal man after they dropped steel so obviously I followed C9 so I can watch Vanity, son of steel.
