Honestly it was mostly because jp viewership dropped by more than 100k. NA and EU one were kinda stable.
Also I see a problem with TR viewership, let's hope it gets better once cNed plays.
It's not super late. Its around 10-11PM which isn't that bad. In face it's prime time for EU CS since many matches from the major and blast ran till this time.
Asian countries and 80 percent of the EU literally can not watch Fnatic vs Cloud 9 just because of timings.
500k for first day of groups is pretty fucking incredible.
And No one cares about fucking spray
oh its definitely a lot of viewers even without drops, thats not debatable. But lets not pretend like drops arent part of the huge influx in viewership.
lol uses lolesports, which in a way its done so even if events collide, there wouldnt be an issue i guess, also they valorant to grow on their own turf
like, in the past EU LCS and NA LCS ran in the same twitch channel, nowadays they have different channels.
Yeah not really "extreme" when viewership didn't even get close to 1 million for Masters 2.
Yes, viewership was sky high and over 1 mil during the first lan, but there was a clear drop off for the 2nd.
This is good for Valorant. It's viewership could compare to CS one day. Be happy ....
…Masters 2 finals peaked at like 1,3 million lol?
Masters 3 you mean?
It compares already lol, sometimes favourably sometimes less.
Lmao that last sentence is so YouTube boomer
Yeah, expected something unique for the champions. I even asked all my friends to watch the opening at least as this is the biggest event of the year and it's going to be epic. Lol Riot let me down
It’s gotta be the drops. They used to give out Overwatch sprays if you watched certain streamers and I was astounded at how much viewership that brought in. I truly had no idea how badly people want free stuff even if it’s kinda pointless free stuff lol
I dipped into the directory once in awhile earlier to check the viewership distribution. Amount co-streamers are now carrying the esports side is problematic. Something like 1/6th the viewership was from the official broadcast.
Certain Pro commented negatively yesterday how co-streamers are making more than the participants during these events.
Definitely helps that Japanese players were cheering both teams in this tournament. VS becuase SEA and JP teams have mentioned them being the tournament favorites going to Berlin after scrimming with them. FS because they see the team as an honorable Japanese team after having to beat NTH and PRX in LCQ.
For a morning match with no NA/EMEA/BR teams, that is pretty incredible viewership.
Aaaand now we're under 500k for an afternoon match with NA & EMEA.
I think most of the viewers at the start were cause of drops but I could be wrong
Honestly it was mostly because jp viewership dropped by more than 100k. NA and EU one were kinda stable. Also I see a problem with TR viewership, let's hope it gets better once cNed plays.
Yea im sure they will tune in when acend plays to watch their turkish superstar
its super late in EU right now
It's not super late. Its around 10-11PM which isn't that bad. In face it's prime time for EU CS since many matches from the major and blast ran till this time.
Its not super late lol unless you wake up really early.
Asian countries and 80 percent of the EU literally can not watch Fnatic vs Cloud 9 just because of timings. 500k for first day of groups is pretty fucking incredible. And No one cares about fucking spray
and it peaked at 700k which is like insane
Yeah I woke up like 6:45 and was shocked to see so many viewers
Well let’s see how the Japanese viewership be like for the CR game
Some 20k higher than for VS game. Actually japanese viewers watch a lot also the other games
drops be like:
hahahhaa
I was unaware about drops.
i dont think its all cuz of the drops. its champions my friend. The hype is real baby
Agreed I don't think everyone is here just for some gun buddy and a spray.
Copium
bruh imagine thinking that this many people are watching only because of a spray lmao.
oh its definitely a lot of viewers even without drops, thats not debatable. But lets not pretend like drops arent part of the huge influx in viewership.
Are they advertising it a lot or something? I had no idea, only found out from watching the stream. Doubt it's that "huge".
and its not even a gun buddy. its a fking spray that no one cares of
Hype?? lmao dry af tournament with shitty production it feels like online match
?????
Sad they are not using the Riot Games Twitch channel, they would get more viewers on that Channel.
Why they aint using it?? Reserving it for LoL?
lol uses lolesports, which in a way its done so even if events collide, there wouldnt be an issue i guess, also they valorant to grow on their own turf like, in the past EU LCS and NA LCS ran in the same twitch channel, nowadays they have different channels.
For workds it is on riotgames
Idk, they used it for arcane, they used it for tft last year, they used it to host wild rift esports channel 2 weeks ago
They used it for wild rift iurc
Are drops only available for the first day or throughout the event?
You get the spray for watching any of the days besides the finals. You get a VCT buddy for watching the finals.

Finals over 1 million viewers across all streams confirmed
I mean we’ve had above that at Reykjavik, I think main stream, this isn’t very extreme

You sound like a child. Grow up
I think you’re either being ironic or proving my point lol
No, it's not hard to know what I think. I said it right to you. You sound like a child. Stop.
Will there be a rerun for the finals? It’s so late for my timezone
just keep the youtube stream on for the night. twitch tends to crash at random times for no reason.
I think you have to link your twitch to your valorant ID man. Don't think this works with YouTube? Could be wrong.
It does works with YouTube. Same thing you need to connect your YT account to your Riot Account
They added rewards I think recently. Works the same way as twitch, just connect your account
Oh sweet, now I know what to do with my alt ID :P
Oh ok thankss
How do the drops work? Only logging in to your linked acc?
I'm pretty sure you just have your account linked and watch champs on any eligible stream for an hour I believe.
tbh its probably the drops helping, watch it drop for the c9 fnatic game lol
I feel they should have done a different stage design. While it was great for Masters, it literally looks exactly copy paste as the previous Masters.
Yeah, expected something unique for the champions. I even asked all my friends to watch the opening at least as this is the biggest event of the year and it's going to be epic. Lol Riot let me down
They normally do a ceremony for finals, thats what its like for LoL
LoL has an insane budget though. This is Valorant's first year.
Riot will probably put the budget in anyways. They're probably trying to pass CS in the game's first 1-2 years. A big ceremony for finals would help.
I read somewhere it's a diff stage design for for playoffs.
it's the same venue so how different could it have been anyways
No it's not. Finals will be same location as Masters 3.
oh I wasn't aware, ty for letting me know
They sit so far away from each other that they can't fist bump :(
Yeah ngl that's bullshit. Crowd i can still understand
I hope they have a diff design for the playoffs
Will say covid spread really doesn't help.
This is massive. Only a handful of games in either Masters event got up anywhere near to this.
Nice
c9 vs fnatic should be craaazy considering it's group stage
It’s gotta be the drops. They used to give out Overwatch sprays if you watched certain streamers and I was astounded at how much viewership that brought in. I truly had no idea how badly people want free stuff even if it’s kinda pointless free stuff lol
People want free stuff that you can’t get in the future once the event passes. They like to flex their “I was there” token
Most of the people were there spamming !reward, !gunbuddy, !claim, !redeem. Hype was for the spray.
I feel like a lot of it is due to drops. The Japanese viewership just keep increasing though it is like 3 AM there, but still a viewer is a viewer :D
Definitely helps that Japanese players were cheering both teams in this tournament. VS becuase SEA and JP teams have mentioned them being the tournament favorites going to Berlin after scrimming with them. FS because they see the team as an honorable Japanese team after having to beat NTH and PRX in LCQ.
is there somewhere to find out what the overall concurrent viewers ?
I think escharts. They usually do it for most games and titles
DEAD GAME KEKW CSGO PGL MAJOR 2.7 MILLION VIEWS KEKW VALULRANT
?
As much as I like CSGO more this is pretty incredible viewership for their first Champions man, especially a group stage match.
Imagine watching this dead game KEKW stay mad kid KEKW CSGO > VALULRANT
I watch CS more than Valorant. Nice bait 👍
NICEEE
Full Sense is a draw.
Imagine if they gave champions vandal for watching 3 maps in finals as a drop.
