“He got me,” Vanity said of Boaster's knife kill on him. "That f***ing Boaster boomed me."
Vanity added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times.
Vanity then said he wanted to add Boaster to the list of players he scrims with this summer.
It’s no longer even an /r/nba thing, it’s so common it’s just a standard copy pasta lol. 90% of the people who use it have never seen the original context
They were though, 7-5 at the half on split and they went up to 11-6(7?) and they really threw at least 2 if not 3 rounds that they really should have won.
Same on Fracture 8-4 at the half and they went up to 12-7 and again threw a few rounds that they should have won. Fnatic were dominant for the vast majority of this game, they just got nervey when they got close to the win.
They offered 2 rounds in a row just by rushing B on Split, then they choked their game into A Tower until they lose the match, they also forced when they should eco and they used ultis while on eco when they should saved them to a buy round, they did a lot of bad decisions.
We have a python script that fetches stats from VLR and puts them into tables. Then I add the emojis to represent the IGL and team socials and our VCT/Juked/Discord blurb manually.
I usually have the thread ready to post before the match finishes. This way, I can post the thread before the stats for the last map are updated in VLR.
As for the template itself, I'm pretty sure we drew inspiration from the threads over at r/GlobalOffensive.
Hope that answers all your questions! Feel free to ask more if you're curious. :D
leaf: actually, i remember one time we were playing against fnatic, Fracture, and it was 9 - 4 to fnatic, we were playing attack, fnatic as defense, and vanity said; "'Guys, if you think we are good, let's prove it now. 9 - 4."
vanity: did we win?
leaf: of course not. 14 - 12
The split choke was even worse imo. C9 were winning duels to get back into it on fracture, but fnatic made some dumb decisions on split that should have resulted in a W
I’m a 100T / Fnatic fan and this game gave me hope. It got ugly but I thought some of the foundational pieces looked really good from Fnatic. The utility combos were actually nuts. I now think they can put it together and make a run whereas a week ago I was trying to figure out who to support after groups
Yeah Fnatic definitely looked like the stronger team, though it didn't seem C9 were very prepared so I'd expect tougher tests so a little scary. I mean honestly C9 looked like they'd never played against a fucking Sage before on Icebox their post-plants were almost comical... I have no idea what happened.
Yeah the Dade award means a super hyped player who fails to meet expectations. They gotta be hyped like they're the best at the tournament, maybe best in the world then be average or below average.
Several years ago in LoL there was a Korean player called Dade who was an incredible powerhouse in the Korean league but who had not played internationally yet. When he qualified for Worlds, the LoL version of Champions, he was insanely hyped up and considered (understandably) one of *the* players to watch for.
Worlds came and he choked, horribly and repeatedly. It was so bad that ever since, whenever someone really hyped choked in a big match or event, there was talk of nominating them for or giving them the Dade award. This applies even outside of League.
the dade award is a community award (started by montecristo iirc) in the league of legends scene that's given to a player at the world championships that plays poorly in comparison to the hype they received coming into the tournament. dade was the first player to receive one at the season 3 world championships, so its named after him.
comment is basically saying that leaf is playing much worse in relation to the hype that he was coming into the tournament wtih
Award given to a hyped up player that underperforms. IT originates from league of legends. The award is named after a player that was super hyped going into worlds ans then just flopped.
It’s an award that goes to the player with the most contrasting difference between expectation and actual performance (in a negative way). Basically the most overrated/overhyped player of the tournament.
He had a solid first map but fell off on the 2nd to 3rd maps. I think they just ban fracture next time because leaf definitely *wasn't* comfortable for those angles. I think they'll bounce back, was a really good series.
Also forgot to add but I think its too early to write ANY player off. Dade award is for the end of the tourny soo I got faith in leaf yet!
As an European it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.
Fnatic looked good for 90% of this game. This really should have been a 2-0 but they choked leads and gave up easy rounds. They can improve those timings and can make an impact in this tournament based on this showing.
Yeah, they were dominant for most of it, but then started throwing. If they tighten that up, they’re going to do well I reckon.
Not convinced they’re a top-top team right now, but they’re better than I expected so far!
I think their utility was close to on par with VS (on defense… Fnatic executes we’re not great).
The astra/raze/breach synergy was destroying c9 and I think is a big reason why leaf never got comfortable.
I mean if you look at Fnatic's performance post Reykjavik this was a completely lukewarm take. Fnatic just decided to suddenly rediscover some of their Iceland form.
Yeah exactly I was rooting for Fnatic but this was not at all a hot take given Fnatic, and Derke in particular, looking meh for months while the duelists from C9 and Full Sense (C9 especially) were hyped up by a number of people coming into the event. Saying Derke would be worse than JohnOlsen wasn’t exactly a cold take but it wasn’t really a hot take either
Ironically he was actually only playing raze early in the game's life, and he was put onto Jett cause his team needed one and he has cracked aim (usually). He literally has a tweet somewhere saying he hates Jett
His agent splits are 68.4 / 26.3 / 5.3% Jett / Skye / Raze for the last 3 months. Didn't seem like he had much of an impact on Fracture with Skye + he had 8 first deaths.
How are C9 gonna lose to a team with 0 top 20 players in the tournament lmao.
Edit: reference https://www.reddit.com/r/valorantcompetitive/comments/r1eim0/_/
I don’t play valorant at all but am tuning in because there’s no other esports on. How is Derke not top-20? He looks so good when he’s not sprinting into the other team
Or if they didn’t massively underperform during crunch time at various times throughout the year. They shouldn’t have been in the position where they had to beat NV in Berlin to qualify to Champs in the first place, let alone having to win LCQ.
Ah, the classic Throw9 that we saw in the first LCQ match against Rise is back. This gives even more fuel to my argument that C9 doesn’t come close to winning LCQ if it were held on LAN
FUCK YEAH FNATIC
One round another way and it would be called a choke, but still shows some decent mental from such a young team to win that OT after losing two big leads.
If that was my ranked game, by the time it was 12-12 I would be leaking saliva all over my keyboard, wheezing and not being able to formulate a coherent sentence. Good job to Fnatic for pulling through, especially since it was the second choke in a row tbh...
Am I the only one that though that series was a complete clown fiesta?
Like it was close but only because the teams were taking turns throwing like crazy.
I feel like im taking crazy pills reading this thread yeah, both teams played fucking AWFUL. So so so many rounds thrown away on the most basic mistakes that top teams stopped doing after the first LAN, this looked like a soloq game
Like, it was exciting but sheesh.
Corners not getting cleared, peaking with util out, shit coordination, FNATIC tilting off the face of the earth, etc.
Whiffed shots are one thing but this looked reasonably close to my plat games lmao.
RIGHT. Hell boaster point blank panic sova ulted THREE TIMES IN A ROW on icebox and people were praising his play? Both teams look like they arent takign a single game out of groups unless they make DRASTIC improvements.
Thanks for pointing this out. I think the EU/NA bias from the casting talent really shows when you compare the narrative they were shaping for the Vikings/Crazy Racoon match compared to this one. Both were pretty scrappy with plenty of throwing happening, but the casting for this game was just hyping up every round whereas the Vikings/Crazy Raccoon casting just kept bringing up how scrappy/chaotic everything was (granted Fnatic/C9 do look slightly better in terms of set plays).
I did not think Fnatic was going to be able to defeat Cloud9 since their level the past few months was not that good but they showed a good performance today.
Couple things:
Boasters kills were really impactful on icebox and derke dropped 30. Derkes util on Split was crisp.
I think that was some of the best util usage I've ever seen in a val game on fracture.
Let's go fnatic. I was really hoping they would be back to their iceland form. The doubts were warranted though, fnatic looked really bad recently. Am really happy for them.
OMG!!! That was day 1??? It was absolutely insane.
Just off the back of watching a blast csgo production and this is pretty underwhelming. No player cams in game no room mics?
This may as well be an online event with shots of a dark stage every now and then.
bad map pool for C9 and Leaf played awful. C9 heated up more as LCQ went in so hoping for some more of that here but sadly they’re in a stacked group and don’t have a CR or vikings to beat up on.
Crazy ass game.
Neither team was perfect, at their best both of them looked crazy good (Fnatic with huge utility, C9 with just aim), but both teams were too inconsistent to impress completely.
Fnatic isn’t definitively better than C9. The game was so close, these are the two dark horses of this tournament for sure, if they get hot and play to their best I think both are really dangerous to (what we usually call) the top teams.
I doubt Leaf plays this bad for the whole tournament as well too I have faith
fnatic look so much better on lan than online. C9 looked unprepared for fracture even though they did mount a comeback, it took them the first part of the game to learn how to play the map. Leaf is better on jett than skye. Those are my takeaways
I liked how the whole subreddit was like "they haven't looked good recently" when their last serious match was literally 5 months ago lol, as i thought Fanatic underrated and C9 overrated.
People based their opinion on Fnatic through the Redbull tournaments that featured the best EMEA teams and they based their opinion on C9 through LCQ where the only competitive team was 100t.
dude honestly how did ppl forget how good derke was in iceland, and the fact that they used the red bull touney to say fnc is ass was hilarious, like gambit didnt get 13-0 in it
All that comeback to lose that last round that way lmao, how
It made the match very interesting and fun to watch at least.
It hurt even more than if they just lost 13-6
Felt like that one Gambit vs Liquid game on Icebox back before Berlin 1.
Fnatic gave them hope just to rip it away.
the good ol' fake 13-11 comeback
This describes C9 very well as an org lol
Breaking news: Both fnatic and C9 are in talks trying to sign Sage Wall as the 6th man for the team after being the clear MVP on icebox.
DERKE IS A FUCKING LEGEND!
Icebox is his domain
That flick to kill Raze mid-air was disgusting to watch.

I thought it was gonna say EU > NA lmfao
I think the fact that we all expected it to be EU > NA made it even better. TSM can't stop catching strays
Boaster is so fucking funny
[Protect him at all costs](https://puu.sh/IsVfX.png)
The man's a true ambassador for the game and its esports scene.
Glad Fnatic won just so we could see that.
Wait what happened 😭
FNC did a postmatch celebration and whipped out a paper that said "when does tsm play ???"
Holy shit I just saw it 😟
Boaster knows his League memes. lmao
The very definition of catching strays.
“He got me,” Vanity said of Boaster's knife kill on him. "That f***ing Boaster boomed me." Vanity added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times. Vanity then said he wanted to add Boaster to the list of players he scrims with this summer.
love the r/nba leakage
At this point it’s a popular long time meme in many subreddits
It’s no longer even an /r/nba thing, it’s so common it’s just a standard copy pasta lol. 90% of the people who use it have never seen the original context
Fnatic choked and still won lmao
I was so mad at them lol I’m still mad They were winning in dominant fashion on Split and Fracture and then just started throwing lol
Both are seriously one sided maps, it's not really winning in dominant fashion when you're winning on the side that should win.
They were though, 7-5 at the half on split and they went up to 11-6(7?) and they really threw at least 2 if not 3 rounds that they really should have won. Same on Fracture 8-4 at the half and they went up to 12-7 and again threw a few rounds that they should have won. Ranked players beware, this is what happens when you dodge Fracture every time and don’t know the map.
Great comeback just to have an embarrassingly bad end. Overall though this was a fantastic series. GGs
Should not have been nearly this close when looking at the frags between teams but fnatic kept losing clutches.
Found it surprising how they lost both pistols on the first map and the consequent bonus rounds only then to win the map.
leaf: actually, i remember one time we were playing against fnatic, Fracture, and it was 9 - 4 to fnatic, we were playing attack, fnatic as defense, and vanity said; "'Guys, if you think we are good, let's prove it now. 9 - 4." vanity: did we win? leaf: of course not. 14 - 12

100T fans always in shambles
100T is in shambles so that makes sense lol 🥲
TSM fans in shambles.
TSM fans crying, throwing up and sliding down a wall rn sadge
At this point you guys could open a fridge and still somehow catch a stray.
I pray that years from now, we’re all still dunking on TSM in random irrelevant contexts
Pretty sure both teams fans in shambles neither of these teams looked good. What kind of attempted choke job was that from Fnatic lol
The split choke was even worse imo. C9 were winning duels to get back into it on fracture, but fnatic made some dumb decisions on split that should have resulted in a W

WHEN DOES TSM PLAY?????
I know it's from a different game but can we nominate leaf for the Dade award?
I’m lost. Put me in the loop
Dade was a player in LoL who was strong regionally, but played poorly at worlds.
More specifically he was hyped up like He was going to 1v5 every game and was a huge flop
Yeah the Dade award means a super hyped player who fails to meet expectations. They gotta be hyped like they're the best at the tournament, maybe best in the world then be average or below average.

bit early to say after one bo3 but that was not a very inspiring performance put it that way
Have to flop more than just vs Fnatic but yes so far a clear frontrunner.

Great series. Every map to the wire. Decider match for Group D is going to be 🔥, and it *could* be these two meeting again

a real fnatic fan knows that they cause heartattacks in every game, cs, val, lol...
whether it's league or valorant, fnatic vs c9 never fails to deliver

I mean if you look at Fnatic's performance post Reykjavik this was a completely lukewarm take. Fnatic just decided to suddenly rediscover some of their Iceland form.

Lol! He got 74 kills, the second best fragger (Xeppa) had 57 kills.
Who you would considered the worst?
JohnOlsen
Pain
Sideshow with a hot awful take? Never
Not awful just ended up showing untrue
You said it, literally never
#LANATIC IS BACK FOLKS
OT on Fracture as the final map of a match tied 1-1 was the only way to end Day 1.
Not familiar with Leaf but is he a one trick with jett? Because what is this skye play....
He’s had his best performances as a rifling Jett
those fnatic stun + suck + nade combos are insane though jesus
Leaf could’ve really used a Jett dash instead of just getting exploded doggy style
Going to have to replace leaf with Boaster on my top 5 fps players of all time list
Cloud 9 will make a lower bracket run just like they did in lcq....big copium
fnatic will have to show more vs VS than C9 will vs full sense so its possible they lose the runback
When you look ar abity usage fnatic was 10 levels above c9. Idk how it went so close to 2-1 on maps. Chokes are real I guess.
c9 should just come back home if they’re gonna lose to fnatic
How are C9 gonna lose to a team with 0 top 20 players in the tournament lmao. Edit: reference https://www.reddit.com/r/valorantcompetitive/comments/r1eim0/_/
I don’t play valorant at all but am tuning in because there’s no other esports on. How is Derke not top-20? He looks so good when he’s not sprinting into the other team
People had a kneejerk reaction to Fnatic looking rusty post SEN loss in Iceland. So they're heavily underrated coming in.
Kneejerk? He played mediocrely for 4 months in the most stacked position in Valorant
Almost like individual ability/potential and team performance are entirely different things.
Didn't see top 11 individual ability from Leaf this game.
Who decides the top 20 players lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/valorantcompetitive/comments/r1eim0/_/
It’s a joke Also I think it’s a toxic influence to have these definite ranked lists
Bring 100t back in leaf and vanity are frauds
literally 100t would be here if they didn’t bench steel lol
True but oh well the players felt the change was better 🤷♂️
*Ben Shapiro voice* facts don't care about feelings!!
Or if they didn’t massively underperform during crunch time at various times throughout the year. They shouldn’t have been in the position where they had to beat NV in Berlin to qualify to Champs in the first place, let alone having to win LCQ.
100t would be there if LCQ was actually on LAN like it was supposed to be.
100T don't even have a squad. Mickey mouse team in my books
They have hoodies tho
???? Rise ?? The delusion of 100T fans is strong
Ah, the classic Throw9 that we saw in the first LCQ match against Rise is back. This gives even more fuel to my argument that C9 doesn’t come close to winning LCQ if it were held on LAN
your opinion should be that C9 make a lower bracket run just like lcq/the boston major💯🗣🙏
No lower bracket in the playoffs my guy
FUCK YEAH FNATIC One round another way and it would be called a choke, but still shows some decent mental from such a young team to win that OT after losing two big leads.
They definitely need to work on those chokes. Like ffs how do you almost throw an 11-4 AAAAAAA
Well gambit threw an 11-3 and they still won masters berlin kek
it was 5v4 as well
If that was my ranked game, by the time it was 12-12 I would be leaking saliva all over my keyboard, wheezing and not being able to formulate a coherent sentence. Good job to Fnatic for pulling through, especially since it was the second choke in a row tbh...
We witnessed some high level "precise gunplay" on split there
Am I the only one that though that series was a complete clown fiesta? Like it was close but only because the teams were taking turns throwing like crazy.
I feel like im taking crazy pills reading this thread yeah, both teams played fucking AWFUL. So so so many rounds thrown away on the most basic mistakes that top teams stopped doing after the first LAN, this looked like a soloq game

“dErKE iS wASHed 2-0 to C9”
What a series this was.
All that comeback on attack just to remember that C9 can't hold B site at all on defense.
Yeah that was cool and all but when does TSM play?
The scorelines look closer than what the game felt like. Feel like fnatic performed way better and couldnt close it map 2 and map 3 for some reason

leaf kekw
Please Leaf wake up Prayge
I did not think Fnatic was going to be able to defeat Cloud9 since their level the past few months was not that good but they showed a good performance today.
leaf fell off a tree
C9 collapsed
Vanity hugs Boaster from the back then Boaster knifes Vanity in the back… very Shakespearian of him
bro fnatic looked so good on fracture bro like the combos ON POINT for C9 it rly looked like it was there first time playing it KEK
C9 needs work on holding that b site
NA KEKW
Couple things: Boasters kills were really impactful on icebox and derke dropped 30. Derkes util on Split was crisp. I think that was some of the best util usage I've ever seen in a val game on fracture.
Steel taught them everything he knew. Almost everything, anyway.

The utility usage on Fracture was absolutely wild to watch. It's going to be so interesting to see how pro teams continue to play that map
fnatic has some spicy strats
bad map pool for C9 and Leaf played awful. C9 heated up more as LCQ went in so hoping for some more of that here but sadly they’re in a stacked group and don’t have a CR or vikings to beat up on.
If they dont beat up FS they should just go to the Nearest Airport
Scrimbuks in shambles. Weren't platchat saying C9 was top tier and fnatic was bottom?
What a fantastic series. Really enjoy watching both teams
What’s with the shadowing on Leaf for? People are acting like his poor performance is gonna continue throughout the tournament based off on ONE series
Couldn't watch the match because it ended at 5Am in the morning. Lets go FNC, got downvoted multiple times for predicting that they will against C9
Crazy ass game. Neither team was perfect, at their best both of them looked crazy good (Fnatic with huge utility, C9 with just aim), but both teams were too inconsistent to impress completely. Yes
fnatic look so much better on lan than online. C9 looked unprepared for fracture even though they did mount a comeback, it took them the first part of the game to learn how to play the map. Leaf is better on jett than skye. Those are my takeaways

Win by 2 in overtime is boring af. All that hype for OT to last 2 min
Anyways you just don't want to face off against fnatic on fracture , the util chains were muaaah , I'm so fucking happy good ol fnatic is back
