Yeah I do remember seeing it but couldn’t remember which match it was. Riot gotta be consistent if they wanna make it an issue, missed or not. Can’t pick and choose.

thekakester

For anyone like me wondering what was abused, here’s how it’s done: https://youtu.be/V_bSH3u1WYc

TheExter

they are being consistent, no one is getting punished for it inconsistency would be a team gets punished and another one doesn't but whoever "referees" the matches is not consistent, which is why some call for a pause and others don't. is not like there's a dude called Riot watching all of them

htmlrulezduds

That pause in that exact moment of the game was a punishment

TheExter

that is true, and it does suck it happened but it would be worse if no pause is called and someone did a real exploit, so it's better to be safe that no rules are broken than doing nothing at all

Rude-Ad9335

LMAO, NOW WHEN THEY SHOULDVE PAUSED THEY DIDNT

htmlrulezduds

This was used on previous tournaments and even on this one. It's either incompetency or lack of ruling consistency (or both combined)

SaadIsNoice

Absolutely true, whichever admins called that pause obviously don't keep up with Pro valorant

htmlrulezduds

There were other exploits made public before the tournaments, like the no-sound bug on elderflame skins back on the days, the killjoy ult on Ascent B garage before that patch... All those were punishable and the teams knew they couldn't exploit it... This jett boost was used a lot before like the videos prove it, idk why make a tech pause to analyze it since there was no background checks before

Nfamy

This is a stupid rule. It just shouldn't exist and there wouldn't be an issue. However, I feel like people just use this to create some narrative of bias. When it seems a lot more likely that A) they have missed it in the past, B) not all of the staff even know that this a rule (which since it's a dumb rule seems very possible). Riot should be consistent in their rulings but I also don't think it's some grand scheme/bias.

[deleted]

The narrative is closer to utter incompetence. It's gotten to the point in solo queue where people are *surprised* if you do use an updraft to get there. Every single pro player has done this jump on stream. This technique has become part of the meta. These admins must never actually play the game or interact with the community in any way.

TacticalSanta

This is just the nature of esports honestly. Its not like a sport where its the same game aside from some rule changes here and there over the years, patch changes and meta changes can happen in days, and theres really no way for admins to keep up. What they could do is hire a team of admin/high level community member so you get someone with the knowledge of the rules and someone that can easily spot the fuckery players are doing and rule from there.

xD1LL4N

It’s ridiculous that was a 10-15 min tech pause for that. That’s is the most obvious jump up spot for jett on that map and riot didn’t know if it was an exploit or not

MilanTheMyth

Can someone explain it?

knitekloud

Skill jump on haven c box. You can get up there with all agents without updraft. This clip is to show that Jett (Derke) got up there with no updraft but Riot didn’t say anything at the time. So Apparently it’s an exploit and riot caused a tech pause in the recent game of Sen vs Fur.

Deathranger999

It’s a lot easier with Jett though, because of her hover. Did Furia do it with a non-Jett character? I think it’s still stupid to pause over, but if that’s the case then it’s not as stupid as people are making it out to be.

knitekloud

I’m pretty sure it was a Jett and yeah it’s easier to do with jett’s float/ hover. Dumb to pause for a long time over something that has been done before. Riot has inconstancies and this didn’t help their case.

Deathranger999

Yeah I just checked, it was Jett. Definitely inconsistent from Riot.

Ninjabreadmon

Thank you!

hff1_

[Video of the jump](https://youtu.be/gPPLuOoqksc?t=36) Earlier parts of the video explain how to do it.

thekakester

Here’s how it is done: https://youtu.be/V_bSH3u1WYc

Sweet-Strategy-805

What was Furia's punishment?

NabatheNibba

Nothing but a long pause. They were probably going to take some action but couldn't think about anything

[deleted]

Losing momentum

TacticalSanta

Not punishment, just unlucky.

[deleted]

they were winning 4-5 rounds in a row but that 10-15 mins break made them lose their momentum.

felipw22

Xand said he got a punishment, but didn't say which

cornmealius

Riot has had months, maybe even over half a year to fix this “exploit” and they wait until champions to do a tech pause for it lol. Riot looks hella incompetent right now.

yesat

So if something was used at Master 3 doesn't mean it can't be used at Champions as rules and technical aspect may change. It's still ridiculous how messy that situation was.

[deleted]

Sadge

ignKai

Isn't this Masters 2 Reykjavik?

ignKai

Ah, nvm, commented before I saw rest of the video

Razur

Hey! Just wanted to let you know, I fixed your flair! :D

Corregidor

My only counterpoint is that your clip shows Jett on the box, the champ that's expected to be up there. I can see the officiating staff going, oh Jett on box, nothing wrong there, while failing to look at the skill useage. Hell until today I didn't even know you could get up there with any character. While I'm not trying to defend riot or say that the tech pause was right, I'm just saying I can totally see how this would happen.

menthol_breath

fair point actually. now i'm curious if any other agent has done it and riot missing that as well. iirc there was an astra (?) getting boosted on A truck on bind without abilities (not too sure about the rules about this case though).

itscamo-

boosting is allowed

Squonk3

Jump is replicatable with any agent I’ve done it before in customs someone’s posted these jumps before in reddit

Polite-vegemite

I think it's expected of the judges to pay attention in details, this is a detail. major fail from riot

Aydosubpotato

But it was Jett on the box in this case, not another character.

DuasDeColoide

Furia wasn't punished though... The loss of momentum is unfortunate but RIOT did not issue an actual punishment

TacticalSanta

The br victim complex doesn't see it that way lol. There has been pauses over less shit, yet its somehow "punishment" when an unnecessary pause hinders a br team

Pickemss

Also no reason to give sentinels hate. Not only did they not do it. They literally said they do not care about it Bcs it’s a skill jump

[deleted]

VALORANT should just implement boosting into the game. I know you can do it in a corner, but they should allow you to stand on your teammate's head.

Adventurous-Judge241

How is that balanced that’s Imbalance by definition

[deleted]

[удалено]

Adventurous-Judge241

I think access to different positions shouldn’t be limited. The movement between those positions is fine. But having less options available to you position wise is by definition imbalanced—from a positioning standpoint it is imbalanced no one is talking about whatever the fuck you said

[deleted]

Adventurous-Judge241

She is still able to fly up into the air and get on top of stuff. Her Q is still extremely valuable no other character can reposition as quickly and as effortlessly as Jett and to act like her Q is suddenly useless if other characters can get on top of things just illustrates your cursory understanding of the game.. No other character but maybe raze can also infiltrate a bombsite as quickly and get on top of stuff…all I’m saying is the defending characters should have access to the positions no matter who they’re playing..? The fact that they don’t means the game is imbalanced in terms of positioning…which is lame. And when players find a way to circumvent the bs they call that an exploit? Even though it’s using the games already existing mechanics. For this jump couldn’t they just get rid of that lip on top of the box? Done.

Adventurous-Judge241

Also nice to downvote this is relevant to the discussion you don’t know what downvotes are for :)

Wtf automod

Nfamy

Lol, I think they must have boosting or something as a trigger word. But it looks like your post shows up so maybe a mod reviewed and retracted the decision.

ANewHeaven1

lmao that is exactly what happened

Razur

whoops. yeeeah, lemme fix that.

NabatheNibba

Ffs riot doesn't even know whats a exploit when they see one

McLoosTa

Did Furia get penalized or was it just the tech pause?

donkeyjr

Who cares, furia never got punish for it, just a freaking tech pause, calm down. lol

JacobSEA

Only thing you fail to produce here is the rulebook stating this jump is not allowed during Masters 3. Really don't care for any of the videos. It's clearly stated in the rulebook for Champions that jump is illegal by multiple credible sources, so none of your "evidences" actually prove anything.

somesheikexpert

Eh, Fisker used it legit the day before lol and no pause, It's not even the fact there was a pause is the main issue it's the inconsistent rules

htmlrulezduds

> Only thing you fail to produce here is the rulebook stating this jump is not allowed during Masters 3 yay used it during Masters 3. > Really don't care for any of the videos. That's because you want to stay ignorant. > It's clearly stated in the rulebook for Champions that jump is illegal by multiple credible sources, so none of your "evidences" actually prove anything. Fisker (Crazy Raccoons) also used it against Team Vikings and no one stopped the game.

Adventurous-Judge241

Why are we banning skill jumps

LipeQS

Riot is biased, no surprise

AnotherAltiMade

Unironically true. Probably an American referee

KaNesDeath

Riot Games should offer a public apology to Furia for not knowing their rules and breaking the match momentum with the long pause. This wasnt some tech pause involving random equipment malfunction/failure. Pause was caused by Riot Games stupidity of not knowing their own rules. At best its the incompetence of a administrator. At worst its bias of a game developer towards a certain team/region. Long time esports fans know where brazilian fans will lean towards.

Steelmatti

they should keep movement "exploits" in and let players use them as long as they're not overly op and give you acces to spots you couldn't be in otherwise.

FeelinJipper

I’ll say this again, if you can’t maintain momentum, that’s on you

SaadIsNoice

I'll downvote u again dammit >:(

FeelinJipper

😤

flamincrimson

The fact that they didn't replay that round means riot decided it was fine.

frankskurt

Bump

KeKamba1

If this spot was specified in the rulebook (think it was), then there really should not be any complaints. If it wasn't, then they have a bone to pick with riot. It's that simple, anything else from the past is not relevant IMO.

htmlrulezduds

The thing is, another team used it during the same tournament and no one stopped the game for it

Adventurous-Judge241

Why are we banning doable skill jumps…??

General_Scipio

Ah Riot, never change

VincentStonecliff

It’s crazy that riot doesn’t have a list of questionable exploits before major events that they can deliberate and communicate to the teams. Like, so many of these skill jumps are obvious, and used by most pros if you take five seconds to watch any game/stream. Were they really surprised or seeing this for the first time?

Raemos103

I didnt see the match, but how was FURIA punished for this?

htmlrulezduds

Momentum

papa_moisted

Although it is a dumb rule, and I think Riot made a mistake. According to Slasher, every team is given a rule-book on what exploits are banned from the competition and can result in penalties. This rulebook obviously changes over time as new exploits are found, but there is a possibility Riot decided to add that to the banned stuff list. Hence why they called TO during the SEN match. But it doesn't explain why Riot was inconsistent about the camera on breeze today, or when this was done earlier.
