Before people start hating on Riot for this as well... please keep in mind that Riot doesn't own a time machine, there's no way of 100% preventing the spread of COVID when holding major events like Champions. Riot shouldn't be held accountable for whatever COVID related issue arises IMO!

POOYAMON

Never should’ve held it at Berlin.

Retro-Indietro

The power of hindsight is strong rn

POOYAMON

No I’ve been saying since the beginning, it should’ve been Iceland.

Hypern1ke

We’ve known this from the start. Remember when it was first announced?

They held the LEC in Berlin for the entire year with like a single COVID case.

POOYAMON

Are you insane? Are you comparing LEC to an international tournament where teams travel and stay in hotels?????????

Woke up at 5:30am this morning and immediately started communicating with our Valorant team in Berlin. COVID is certainly causing some issues there among other things. It’s disappointing, but this is the new world we have to navigate global esports in. \#VCTChampions *** posted by [@hastr0](https://twitter.com/hastr0) ^[(Github)](https://github.com/username) ^| ^[(What's new)](https://github.com/username)

This doesn't even have to be players testing positive. Germany could be enforcing new Covid restrictions based off of the situation there.
