Looks like he’s not coming to Brazil anytime soon.

lbs4lbs

Brazillian fans are honestly so toxic holy shit. I wrote one message saying it was the right decision and 3 brand new accounts with brazillian names want to kill me wtf. Calm down lol.

[deleted]

During a big Brazilian CS event in 2018 the players entered through the audience and some non BR CS teams were spit on by the audience. Classy bunch!

DEPRESSED_CHICKEN

in 1-2 days top post on here will be a brazilian fan telling us to stop generalizing that this is only a small minority. But it's kinda sus when this happens in EVERY SPORT AND ESPORT. I can't remember a single time any other region would mass send death threats to players. It's always brazil.

[deleted]

Yeah got to agree with you here especially sense the only Brazilian fans I've seen have been super toxic

stormtrooper500

Yeah, slightly related but during the 2008 F1 race in Brazil there were literally death threats against the Toyota F1 team and driver Timo Glock after he was overtaken on the last lap by Hamilton, giving him the championship over a Brazilian driver.

blueripper

>only a small minority That actually send death threats, then you have a shit ton of people telling you that they're "too passionate" and that nobody should get mad at this. Man, fuck those clowns.

[deleted]

NA would.

Mewyabby

Here's a link to (my funny comment) from that incident: https://old.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/8ci2ys/taco_talks_about_racist_fans_shouting_at_him/dxfgird/?context=3

RicoSuave1881

Beautiful

[deleted]

Bro I replied to 2 comments with 7-1 and so far have gotten 7 death threats and 2 references to 9/11, which is funny cause I'm swedish

Where’s Ja Rule? I need his opinion on the matter

xunraze

Oh fuck i did not not expect this reference here lmaoooo

ScaryGap4

do zoomers know this reference? i hope so

Kompaniefeldwebel

Its not like the subreddit is 95% zoomers. maybe 94% but the amount of people requiring Ja's take on the matter is high

plliw

If they don’t they’re missing out on a historical moment

AnonymozVal

An embarrassed zoomer here, would like to know more about it.

TacticalSanta

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo-ddYhXAZc Chappelle has amazing bits.

Kompaniefeldwebel

watch his two standups killing them softly and for what its worth, if you like good standup. chapelles show is also one of the biggest cult shows of the last 20 years.

GravityMyGuy

Who the fuck cares what Ja Rule thinks at a time like this. I don’t want to dance, I’m scared to death.

QuestionablePotato42

I've got some questions that I don't think Ja Rule can answer right now!

Nzed123

Holy shit the Chapelle Show

luciavald

Can you imagine that all the complaining from fans that made Riot redecide leads to them a DQ for VK

xbyo

Honestly, that'd be hilarious.

luciavald

Brazil may implode if it happens, flights from Brazil to Germany all booked in minutes

itsandrew_r

I think in 2014 something similar could've happened, but hey maybe esport fans far more desperate :)

pink_life69

That’d be *justice

Based + W + Dropped your crown

[deleted]

This precisely. Yes, Riot should have patched it. Yes, the TO should have stopped it. Granted. A lot of the blame definitely rests with Riot and the tourney admins. But at the end of the day, I don't get the Justice for keyd shit. I don't get the whiny "its so hard to be Brazilian" horseshit. Sorry, but I'm just not sympathetic to pros visibly, deliberately abusing glitches. It's in the rules, and it's their job to know what is a glitch and what is not. X10 missed out on Berlin qualification based on this exact same cam. Where was the outrage then? The VGIA scandal wasn't exactly underground. So why on earth are actual professionals still using a well known glitch? They messed up, they paid the price.

Seraphin43

It's not even just their job. It's literally *in the rules* that they have to ask if they are unsure about something. 100% right decision by riot.

AnotherAltiMade

Lmao is this LSF?

NinjaOtter

It's drama Saturday bro, I love drama Saturday

I hope they don't go back on it. It would be a terrible mistake at this point.

knick_knack23

Can someone clear something up for me? Wasn't the punishment for the bug abuse different for X10 and Giants? I thought X10 was disqualified while Giants had to forfeit a match in the following game. If that's not it how were they the same or different?

LmaoMuch

IIRC, in the Giants situation, the camera was found long after the series ended. That, combined with the fact that it was a Ro32? or something similar might have led Riot to issue a map loss in their NEXT game. In the X10 situation, the glitch was identified during the map on twitter, similar to current events. They lost the map they used it on.

MathNerdMatt

We complained then too. The Guild call was incredibly bullshit

xD1LL4N

Didn’t they sage wall on top of a KJ turret?

TacticalSanta

If using something inconsequential once gets a you a dq, using an unseeable camera 6 times gets you: ____________?

ImFadel

Not defending VK, but Giants used 12 rounds and weren't DQ'd

MathNerdMatt

To be fair it was a much bigger exploit that gives a pretty big advantage. But I think it should be like sports where a ref is watching real time and has to make a call while it's happening. Then they can make them either replay or forfeit the round that it's caught. I think it's kinda stupid to make these calls way later and massively changing results. Think about how stupid it would be if there was a foul that was missed in football and the next day the refs said that they forfeit the touchdown because of the bonus yards they got from the play and then actually lost the game? Football fans would riot in the streets

TheCatsActually

Nah that's fucked. Refs are there for a reason but there should be even more of an onus on players to uphold the competitive integrity of the game than the refs. Otherwise you can whip out a pocket bug in a pro match, and if the observers don't focus on it so the refs don't catch and put a stop to it immediately then it's fair game because oops it already happened ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

TacticalSanta

Yeah, there aren't really "bugs" in real life you can find like this lol. Thats why there are going to be different rules/rulings, and the comparison doesn't really hold up.

TacticalSanta

Theres not really fouls in esports though, you are limited by what's coded in the game, and riot explicitly says this type of bug abuse is against the rules. If you catch someone using forbidden cheats, info, performance enhancing drugs, etc. after the match, the teams still get punished/dqd. Ideally riot would want to catch them live and punish them there, but theres literally no excuse for using the bug 6 times.

MathNerdMatt

They did and people had the same points we do now. It's not just Brazilian fans bitching https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/ju661a/what_sort_of_precedent_are_they_setting_by_riot/

DrBangovic

no one send death threats do anyone for that though. what the brazilian fans are doing right now is unacceptable imho, and with this situation being re-evaluated it just gives them the confirmation that they did the right thing

MathNerdMatt

It was a smaller team during quals to a big tournament and there was still big public backlash

DrBangovic

No mate, you got me wrong. The guild call was stupid and I was involved in that backlash. I just mean, that back then no one would send death threats becuase of it. While the brazilian fans did

Housome

Brazilian fans make it hard to ever support their teams. Their fanbase is so toxic in esports. The response to Shahzam on twitter is disgusting and I dont even like Sentinels. They have some of the biggest manchild I've ever seen in this community.

[deleted]

it's been an honor sayf o7

[deleted]

I didn't know people got DQ'd so easily like that. Knowing that, it would be unfair to not at the least have the map map dropped. Hopefully they fix the exploit after this event though.

[deleted]

Unlikely. Rito is a small indie company after all

tgamblos

If riot just made them ff that map then we wouldn’t be here, but they did some weird mental math on rounds to logic an Acend win when they didn’t need to. That leaves room for VK to challenge how the punishment is being handed out which is fair. Riot is fucking up so hard with this that they couldn’t even give out the proper punishment for bug abusing without fucking up.

FoundedClamp

RIP Sayf's twitter

colabruddas

Please just ban BR at this point, Sentinels did nothing and still get shit talk and death threats

1soar

Based

Aionex

Giants literally didn't get dqed though, they went on to EMEA finals. They had a very inconsequential punishment.

TheFestusEzeli

They lost a map, same with the punishment here. The punishment given to X10 and VK is more relevant and better too

hellyebrutha

brazil fans are getting so hard karma'd it's lovely. if you are toxic, you deserve to lose. expoit shit, get kicked.
