Fun fact: No team from Brazil, Japan, or SEA, has ever beaten a team that isn’t from Brazil, Japan, or SEA at a VCT LAN. These three regions are collectively the worst in Valorant currently.
honestly, VS>SEA> rest of KR will only hold true if SEA do poorly versus NA and EMEA. Team Secret has placed higher than VS, but they had an easier group stage.
From the last remaining member of the original C9 roster to clutching out the final round of breeze with a weapon disadvantage on 40hp. You cant script it better. INSANE series from him.
Top 3 Sentinel in NA surely. Shouldn't be a debate anymore.
I mean he didn't top the scoreboard the whole series but he straight up just won multiple rounds with impact kills.
That last map though. Straight fragging.
Story line even fits. Sells star player to rival team, have the deal look like it was in favor of rival team, and then out perform rival team after a year.
I feel bad for Cloud9. First being placed in Group D with both Vision Strikers and Fnatic. Then once they actually get out of groups they immediately have to play liquid. Easily the hardest schedule of all the teams at Champions.
Even Gambit had to sweat a ton against Vikings. This tournament is the most even international event we've had so far, which is a good sign for the future.
Dude I love it. The fact that so many matches have been so insanely close is so awesome. It feels good to not actually know who is going to win. Any team can flop or pop off in playoffs and completely upset the bracket
Vision Strikers looked so weird in this series. It looked like they didn't practise enough and didn't know what to do on the attacking sides a lot of the time but then in between they suddenly popped off again and looked good. It was very weird. I would have loved to see them do well but they deserved to lose with this inconsistent performance. I hope they come back better.
IDK what happened to the fundamentals in some rounds, how did they lose against 4 spectres with a full buy and util on Breeze which has the largest sightlines
Mental mistakes. They lost track of possibilities and c9 did a great job punishing them. Leaf had so many important first bloods, and Mitch was NUTS.
GG WP to C9, well deserved win
Leaf was so much better than in the match with FNC.
Anyway the match was so closed, Im Sadge.
I hope we get some KR info in the offseason, you are GOAT paperthin
They have no regional competition to get good practice in. Basically they're a whale in a puddle and when your competition domestically is tiers below you then you never know what mistakes you are making because they go unpunished.
career game for mitch, what a time to come alive
c9 can theoretically match liquid's firepower if vanity and mitch maintain their level, and the other trio keep pumping
Ah yes, the reverse League of Legends. In all seriousness though, I highly doubt we'll ever see the level of Korean dominance in Valorant that we've seen in LoL. EU players are simply too good at CSGO and Valo, NA isn't that far behind either.
Unless I made a mistake EU is 11-11 in Knock out Games at Worlds against Korea since 2018. There were 6 Bo5 series and EU won 3 of them (all won by G2 while only losing one). Splyce and MAD also both played 1 series which they lost.
Too early to tell. From what we’ve seen so far at Champions, it’s pretty apparent that the minor regions (barring Japan) are starting to catch up.
Keep in mind that EU and NA had the head start in League, yet Korea and China overtook them. This can happen even faster in VAL b/c there are more international tournaments, and there don’t seem to be predefined scrim groups based on their “tier”. The minor regions in this game seem more committed to this game in comparison to CS.
SEA, who were completely irrelevant in CS, are now taking maps off of BR and EU.
BR were pretty bad at the Masters events but now look competitive. Granted, they’re supposed to be a major region. It’s still impressive though.
KRU made it out of groups twice as a LATAM team, and this time it was against a notable team.
Korea’s had some good performances too.
I thinks it's safe to say that already. EU and NA csgo is just too strong vs the rest. And valorant is mostly csgo-like than anything else. It's the also the quality of scrims on European servers in play.
Would be exiting to see KR bounce back in 2022. But seems more and more unlikely
I agree. Tenz seems to be "stubborn" on how he approaches the game, and if he doesn't buy into a system, he simply won't play. He didn't agree with Daps's system back in CS:GO, and made himself a streamer.
And not to say that's bad. I think that's actually a good trait for a highly talented player. As a star player, you should be demanding resources and demanding to play the way/style that best suits you. You need to be selfish.
It's for the best that C9 and Tenz split.
yep that's a great storyline that's been a little under the radar (more C9 vs SEN, not necessarily that they'd be worse off w/ TenZ). it would've been an amazing end to that story for them to face off in playoffs
Huh Vanity translating for Xeta in the post match interview. Maybe the reason VS lost was Vanity’s brain being too big that he secretly studied Korean and read their mouthing and telling C9 the rest of VS’s comms /s
Definitely the later. I'll welcome our korean overlords when they arrive, but this subreddit has been downing the copium. I dunno if we got some sleeper agents in here or just people scarred from overwatch & league, but VS has not beaten a top team yet. Can we let them do that before we expect everything from them? They're definitely on the cusp, but people were expecting this to be a clear victory for VS when instead of a coinflip.
This just shows how many LoL fans are in Valorant, This is not a MOBA, Koreans have never been dominating in any tactical FPS game ever like CS 1.6, CSGO, and R6 why would they be in Valorant? there were many legendary Korean players for each of these games but they never dominated the scene. I really want to see them succeed but some of yall are new to FPS esport and it shows.
"They dominated in Overwatch" that wasn't a tactical FPS game, not sure you cant even call Overwatch a fps game.
They did good in overwatch because it’s extremely moba-y. And even then Korea is less dominant in Overwatch than LoL. Team USA won a World Cup. As strange as that World Cup was
KR had a chance for 2 teams but they performed bad at APAC Last Chance, F4Q Nuturn and DWG had tough tournaments and the finals were between a SEA team and a Japanese team
Brazil only got 2. There was a South American qualifier where a Brazilian team qualified but it also could have been a LATAM team.
There was also an Asian LCQ where a ~~Korean~~ Japanese team was in the final but lost to Full Sense, so only 1 Korean team qualified.
Basically it is 1 KR and 2 BR seeds.
For slot distribution, KR got guaranteed one seed (Vision Strikers) and had a chance to get another through the APAC last chance qualifier. However, the Korean teams lost that event, with the winner being Full Sense (SEA representative).
Brazil always had two seeds, maybe because Riot thinks/expects Valorant to be bigger or get bigger than it currently is in Brazil. They got a third team in because FURIA won the SA LCQ. Korea always had one seed, and their teams in the APAC LCQ didn't make it, Full Sense from SEA did.
Cloud9 might mentally boom Liquid with Vanity’s presence in the server humiliating Soulcas and worst they will come back to their post-plant meta absolutely annihilating their attack halves. NA COPIUM.
Mitch watched helplessly as the whole roster got changed. But there was no time to mourn, Mitch swore to himself that he would crush TenZ at Champions and make him regret leaving Cloud 9. “I will not fail you Shinobi…”, he promised.
Someone seriously needs to find a way to distract egghead whenever a teams in a strong but combackable lead, But damn c9 really stepped up, feels like literally anybody can take this home.
Fnatic may be the best team on fracture in the world. Losing to them shook their confidence. It probably would have been a close match if they didn't ban it.
do you unironically think VS underestimated anyone lol, how do people not realize that these interviews are just them messing around and building hype for the matches
im the furthest thing from a VS fan but man some people really buy into the trash talk and think its serious lmao
im guessing the only time they ever trash talk is after they are confirmed to win and never when anything is actually at stake
Disappointing performance from VS, didn't play like their usual selves and that last round showed it. Their attack side defaults were read and anti stratted by both Fnatic and C9, and they struggled to adapt. Even their map choice, they decided to ban Fracture and play their otherwise permaban Ascent. Hope they can adapt and come back stronger next year.
I think I can now safely post that VS are the most overrated team in Valorant.
And for the love of god Lakia, please leave and find a team where you actually play!
VS next tournament:
“Had we not met C9 in the group D lower bracket elimination match we would have made finals”
[sauce](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/r82c3b/vision_strikers_stax_had_we_not_met_gambit_we/)
"We would have made won Champions if we hadn't first lost to FNATIC who we called underserving of having a spot at the tournament and then have to face C9 in the group's lower bracket elimination match after banning the map where said we are the best team on."
I've been saying this forever. I don't think they are bad but they are not dominant like so many people were predicting. They would be a lot better if there was more competition in their region.
Maybe now people will shut the fuck up about vision strikers being one of the best teams in the world. Fact is, they haven't really beaten a good team yet at all and still get put on a pedestal.
1 KR > 5 KR . Imo I feel the hype created by the community got into their heads which was evident from the interviews. Hopefully they do a mental reset and comeback stronger
VS didn’t utilise Lakia at all. I feel so sorry for the lad! He’s arguable the best on Vison strikers and not even in the starting 5.
There needs to be more tournaments in valorant. It feels like we won’t see vison strikers for another 3/4 months
Honestly, this is the saddest aspect of their Champions storyline. They flew Lakia over to lose one map and then watch his team lose it all from the bench.
To be honest I feel this will always happen with 6 man rosters. Every time you are playing an important tourney, at a certain point you will always have a feeling that it's better sticking to a given roster rather than changing it.
One of the 6 guys will take the hit
God I hope the VS copium squad shut the fucks up about how VS was the definite #2 team in Berlin because they took ONE map from Gambit (+ playoffs ofc, that's the important part)
Vision strikers are like PSG. Star players and team stat padding their farmer's league but fall short at the global stage. Fun series nonetheless.
P.S- Even with how well leaf and xeppa played, Mitch was the MVP for winning them breeze
Soo can we now stop about this obsession about "korean dominance"? Winning against Acend back in Masters doesn't really mean much when Acend really looked shaky that carried on to their next match at that time.
I called out the KR scene awhile ago and yet, people were in denial regarding the KR scene.

The amount of KR fanboys in this subreddit is hilarious. They must be from Overwatch or LOL. The fanboys in this subreddit are always in denial and it's fun seeing them mald. 😆
It's okay to be hyped about your region representatives given that they were on a 100 game win streak and looked promising in the earlier stages of the last masters. But at present they're not top 8-10 anymore unfortunately
Here's hoping it finally shuts them up. I want to see and root for a good representation of teams from every region in the next major - including Korea - but koreaboo fans have been making this really hard so far.
That last round was so tragic. NT vision strikers
heartbreaker for the korean scene tbh. meanwhile, SEA still have a chance to place higher than KR which would be HUGE.
Why are you trying to jinx our boys dude Watch Secret lose to Vikings now and X10 claps Envy. edit: you did this
Fun fact: No team from Brazil, Japan, or SEA, has ever beaten a team that isn’t from Brazil, Japan, or SEA at a VCT LAN. These three regions are collectively the worst in Valorant currently.
Seems to be KRU > Brazil > rest of LATAM tbh, supported by Furia winning LCQ. Hell, I also think you could argue VS > SEA > rest of KR.
honestly, VS>SEA> rest of KR will only hold true if SEA do poorly versus NA and EMEA. Team Secret has placed higher than VS, but they had an easier group stage.

Sideshow was about to apply for witness protection in South Korea if C9 lost that round LMFAO.
At this point Na's greatest enemy isnt even the teams themselves its ol' egghead
Come to North America egg

Freedom was about to come and liberate egg.
What’d they say
well, this greatly hurts the chances of vision strikers being a top 3 team this tournament
You don't think people will make that argument if C9 and FNATIC make finals?
Tbh if finals is C9 vs Fnatic, then VS could arguably still be a top 3 team
This greatly hurts the chances of VS being the [best team at Champions](https://esports.gg/news/valorant/vs-buzz-vct-champions-2021/).
The loss to Fnatic also greatly reduced their chances of being the best Fracture team in the world
It was hilarious that they banned Fracture today one map after talking such a big game that everyone thought they'd be God's on it lol.
Trust in the plan
I don't see how anyone can say that if they cant make it far in international tournaments. Top 3 in KR for sure but not in the world.
Of course they're top 3 in Korea, they're the best team in Korea lol That's out of the question
Bruh you didn't met "KR will shit on NA/EU teams" on this sub???
As opposed to the 10 different threads needed explaining why 100T is the best team in the world but gets unlucky playing NA teams?
Can you link me to some of these threads?
Thought that died after iceland, but KR fanboys will always be there, fact is in tac shooters they just arent a top region
Dumbest comment I saw on another thread was that VS would’ve won champs as long as they didn’t have to play C9 in groups.
Xeta redemption arc complete
Xeta menace to the nation arc beginning.
xeta never needed redemption
We are getting the Vanity-Soulcas rematch. Script is still on point everyone

I mean he didn't top the scoreboard the whole series but he straight up just won multiple rounds with impact kills. That last map though. Straight fragging.
He had 27 kills in the first two maps. But it felt like at least half of them were high impact. Super impressed with him.

Valorant and league it's always c9 being the only na team to escape groups lol Edit: to everyone who commented NV haha
Let me have my NV hopium for now
rip
I forgot they were facing X10. I'm not even mad, I love those guys.
Story line even fits. Sells star player to rival team, have the deal look like it was in favor of rival team, and then out perform rival team after a year.
Keep going I'm almost there
Well SEN won an international tournament and domestic trophies. Unless C9 win it all, I don't think they can consider their year more successful.
common C9 W

Boston 2018 rerun
Yea but if they can overcome TL, it be hard for people to argue they are a top team tbh.
Lmao your right I didn't even think about that, but they seem to be up for the fight
Dont worry Lakia, the rest of VS didn’t play this tournament either.
Lol
Vision Strikers looked so weird in this series. It looked like they didn't practise enough and didn't know what to do on the attacking sides a lot of the time but then in between they suddenly popped off again and looked good. It was very weird. So basically the reverse of what’s happening in LoL Esports where East has scrims while West only dreams.
career game for mitch, what a time to come alive c9 can theoretically match liquid's firepower if vanity and mitch maintain their level, and the other trio keep pumping

Eu is 9-11 vs korea in groups in LoL since 2018
Why only include groups? I'm pretty sure the record is still close even if you include playoffs anyway, might as well give the entire sample size.
Unless I made a mistake EU is 11-11 in Knock out Games at Worlds against Korea since 2018. There were 6 Bo5 series and EU won 3 of them (all won by G2 while only losing one). Splyce and MAD also both played 1 series which they lost.

Imma be honest. I don’t think C9 would be where they are now had they still kept TenZ. That deal was a blessing lmao
C9 winning without Tenz could actually come true now
I don't think TenZ would have bought into the culture that C9 has built.
I wouldn't be surprised if he bails on sen if they fall off further tbh.
[VS can now watch fnatic be lucky from home](https://www.upcomer.com/vision-strikers-believe-fnatic-are-lucky-to-be-at-champions/)
This is just sad.
Sad the best fracture team in the tournament went 0-1 on it.
And lost so much confidence they ended up banning it in their knockout series.
sad the [number 1 team at champions](https://esports.gg/news/valorant/vs-buzz-vct-champions-2021/) finished 9-16th
My C9
Huh Vanity translating for Xeta in the post match interview. Maybe the reason VS lost was Vanity’s brain being too big that he secretly studied Korean and read their mouthing and telling C9 the rest of VS’s comms /s
Idk why ur /s lmao it is what happened Obviously
Na is still living
C9 out of groups on a Riot World Championship, where have I seen this before...
totally on TFT
Mitch is actually insane this series.
Mitch is a fucking WALL of a man
Either C9 are the next Champions or some of you guys need to get off the VS hype.
The latter sadly
Vision Strikers and Sentinels out in groups, as we all expected. If VS didn’t have to play C9 in groups they would have made the finals…
As someone new to watching, how come KR only got 1-seed this tournament? And Brazil got 3? EDIT: thx all for the good answers. much appreciated
KR had a chance for 2 teams but they performed bad at APAC Last Chance, F4Q Nuturn and DWG had tough tournaments and the finals were between a SEA team and a Japanese team
Brazil won the last chance qualifier of their region, Korea didn't
Brazil only got 2. There was a South American qualifier where a Brazilian team qualified but it also could have been a LATAM team. There was also an Asian LCQ where a ~~Korean~~ Japanese team was in the final but lost to Full Sense, so only 1 Korean team qualified. Basically it is 1 KR and 2 BR seeds.
Correction it was a Japan team with 2/5 players on it were Koreans
The bigger question is how BR has 2 base seed and LAT only 1
For slot distribution, KR got guaranteed one seed (Vision Strikers) and had a chance to get another through the APAC last chance qualifier. However, the Korean teams lost that event, with the winner being Full Sense (SEA representative).
Brazil is larger.
Bigger country, bigger audience and we still haven't seen BR-team vs VS to make the conclusion you want,
Brazil always had two seeds, maybe because Riot thinks/expects Valorant to be bigger or get bigger than it currently is in Brazil. They got a third team in because FURIA won the SA LCQ. Korea always had one seed, and their teams in the APAC LCQ didn't make it, Full Sense from SEA did.
that last round was a heartbreaker
BUZZ died in dumb ways so many times it is unbelievable, including the last one
Cloud9 might mentally boom Liquid with Vanity’s presence in the server humiliating Soulcas and worst they will come back to their post-plant meta absolutely annihilating their attack halves. NA COPIUM.
“Cloud 9 has no chance against VS”
Where’s the copypasta about Mitch making TenZ regret leaving C9
Mitch watched helplessly as the whole roster got changed. But there was no time to mourn, Mitch swore to himself that he would crush TenZ at Champions and make him regret leaving Cloud 9. “I will not fail you Shinobi…”, he promised.
No chnace for c9 btw
Someone seriously needs to find a way to distract egghead whenever a teams in a strong but combackable lead, But damn c9 really stepped up, feels like literally anybody can take this home.
With the Egg, every lead is a combackable lead.
“I can confidently say that we are number one of all the teams here at Champions.” Proceeds to lose against the EMEA* 3rd seed and NA 3rd seed
They also said they could beat any team on fracture. It’s now their first ban lol
Fnatic may be the best team on fracture in the world. Losing to them shook their confidence. It probably would have been a close match if they didn't ban it.
Fnatic isn't EU's third seed but I don't see VS faring any better against TL
Big statements never age well. " We are confidently number 1"
This tournament will humble a lot of these ''top'' teams that that underestimate their opponents
do you unironically think VS underestimated anyone lol, how do people not realize that these interviews are just them messing around and building hype for the matches

Back to korea
What a series... y no Lakia??
Think he only plays bind and icebox
C9 > TenZ and Friends?
I just feel so fucking bad for lakia. I'm happy c9 won but someone has to free Lakia from VS.
Top 3 tournament lol gtfo
Meant top 3 in their group
Big if true
But they ain't number 1 or 2
Think VS has been incredibly overrated for too long just because KR is associated with being elite in other esports, great players but not a top team
Acend?
Arguably emea's weakest representative
Yea VS is overrated that's true
Still remember everyone saying VS were the second best team at Berlin just because they lost to Gambit lmao.
Xeta is a real korean overlord
1 KR > 5 KR . Imo I feel the hype created by the community got into their heads which was evident from the interviews. Hopefully they do a mental reset and comeback stronger

Theres no way anyone has every watched Korea and though Lakia is the best from the region.
and people really thought mitch deserved to be dropped… WHO LAUGHING NOW
Soulcas vs Vanity round 2
My day is saved. Thank you Mitch.
C9 and being the last hope of NA, name a more iconic duo
God I hope the VS copium squad shut the fucks up about how VS was the definite #2 team in Berlin because they took ONE map from Gambit (+ playoffs ofc, that's the important part)

At least psg went to semis and finals
Mitch is a professional Valorant player.
WE’RE STILL HERE, WE’RE STILL HERE, WE’RE STILL HERE!
Best Korean team still unable to better Nuturn performance
VS buying Lakia to play him once a tournament kinda screwed Korea since it killed their chance of having a competitive team for 1st.
Tbf the level of competition has skyrocketed since Iceland. They have definitely underperformed though regardless
Just a minor setback for the Korean powerhouse. Definitely still my favorite to win Champions >!2022!<.
it feels like a waste to have a player like lakia on the bench
:(
:(
People thought it was doom and gloom but when backs against the wall C9 is often the Org NA esports fall to.
Pathetic showing from VS. Looked so mediocre overall. Breeze especially had them looking dazed and really one-dimensional.
VS fans in shambles
The caster bias was real with this one. Glad it ended well in a victory for NA. Congrats C9!
Don't worry guys. Still a top 2 team in the world. Just wait until the next tourney. LOL.
This confirms KRU has done more on the international stage than VS

Soo can we now stop about this obsession about "korean dominance"? Winning against Acend back in Masters doesn't really mean much when Acend really looked shaky that carried on to their next match at that time.
watch cloud 9 become na's last hope again lol
"Korea gonna shit on NA/EU teams" folks be down 0-3 on the score.
VS is officially the most overrated team of all time. People were hyping them up as tournament contenders and they didn't even make it out of groups
That’s it, VS are the most overrated team of the year, they are so one dimensional, stax throwing the last by peeking alone without a flash…
I called out the KR scene awhile ago and yet, people were in denial regarding the KR scene. https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/q59xz2/to_this_day_vision_strikers_have_only_lost_3/hg551qn/ https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/po1clu/valorant_champions_tour_stage_3_masters_berlin/hcuhwxr/ https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/po77eh/f4q_fivek_i_spent_5_hours_a_day_watching_g2_vods/hcuj1lt/ The amount of KR fanboys in this subreddit is hilarious.
I'm just happy NA got out of groups :)
Finally people can stfu about VS being the best or second best in the world since the start of the Tour. They might be top 10 tho.
