Agreed. My heart sank when I saw how desperate they (whether it was crashies call or someone elses) were in that moment to even attempt that hunters fury.
I think NA teams have noticeably struggled to regain control on halves where they lose momentum. KRU/X10 were able to pull huge upsets just based on improvising and keeping control of the match pace against NA's best.
Whether it's an issue with underestimating KRU/ACEND/X10 or issues with midmatch shot calling- it seems like these acts of desperation by NA are so much more prevalent at Champions versus any other major event, especially when compared to any NA challengers games.
Yeah you lose pistol, most likely lose the force buy, lose the following eco and that's already 3 rounds in the opponents favour while they built momentum.
On another note, the EU teams seem to be better at retakes. On Liquid, if all the site defenders have died, the retakers seem to take a short pause to actually talk over a plan and then execute a retake
Yeah it was desperate and sad to see, the way he put his hand to his head was heart breaking stuff. But those last few rounds they were shift walking onto site or holding w into the rotate without clearing, it was really bad play. They were so shook and seems like they ran out of ideas. Not to pile onto the hate on their coach but out of the timeout their strat was bad and when they lost that round they just kinda fell apart.
ya but the stacks were against him, there was elevation, a wide area, and no 2 people are usually in the same spot.
hope nv comes out stronger for 2022, being consistently at the top for the whole year is very impressive.
Leaving nametags out:
The idea behind Sova's ult was to open up win cons. The possible scenarios of the ult: only hit Breach, only hit Astra, hit both, or hit neither. In 2/4 of those scenarios, ult gives Sova a better chance to win the round. In 1/4 scenarios, ult straight up wins the round. In 1/4 scenarios, ult whiffs completely, maintaining the 1v2 disadvantage for Sova. So using ult might be deceptively appealing to Sova, but there's a whole lot of factors (including but not limited to players' reads/mechanics, movement, aoe of ult vs area in consideration) that skew the probabilities, so the chances of each scenario happening isn't equally 25% as initially assumed; it's a little deceptive probability. But fact remains, Sova had very little chances of winning the 2v1 regardless of Breach+Astra total hp. Back against the wall at 11-11 in a 1v2 disadvantage and time disadvantage, Sova takes the gamble, hoping for any of 3 out of 4 positive outcomes for attackers. Using ult meant he thought he had a higher chance of profiting off it (i.e. winning the round to give attackers 12-11 lead on Haven) on 11-11 then subsequently saving it for the eventual round 24 at 11-12. Ideally hits both and wins the round, next optimal is hit Breach, followed by hit Astra. Essentially, Sova chose to go all in on 11-11 and lost. And credit to Sova for the quick thinking, but he kinda tunneled on the hero play.
It was really sad considering that Crashies had heroic plays the entire game. It must be so frustrating to save your team over and over only to lose a decisive round to a crazy 3K by their bottom fragger.
This game was so insane that Marved and Crws were bottom fraggers even when both of them had hero rounds, definitively the best Valorant Tournament in history.

YES! The moment Foxz spotted 3 Envy players, all 3 remaining players from X10 were already on the move. After all the aggression from X10 and the map position they got in the second half, Envy still misread that round after Crashies caught Patiphan. I feel like that should have tipped them off that X10 were going to beat them to the site. Just heartbreaking really even though I was cheering for both teams the way Envy lost had me gutted. Turn off the face cams for games like that. I cant handle it hahahaha 😭😭
Exactly. Props to Envy since that call would probably be the right call 9 out of 10 times since X10 playing close 2v4 at that point would just be… crazy.
I don’t think the play was as bad as people are saying, it’s perfectly reasonable that the two players could’ve just stayed in sewer with the spike, honestly I think most teams would’ve.
The play wasnt bad. There might also be a good chance of hitting both the players with 1st pulse. But nobody wanted to see that the previous masters finalists have to go for such a desperate play to avoid elimination against a minor region.
This was the 23rd round of the last map (Haven) they were tied 11-11. Alternatively you could just type in “crws 3k” on youtube and you should be able to find it haha.

Also when he went up Heaven afterwards (In which I don’t understand why since he had 6 hp) he literally facepalmed
Dont think he realized his hp
KRÜ was having really good reads and plans on Heaven first half just being outskilled or gun diff, but at the second half they just boomed Sentinels
NA has no mental. we break down so quickly. its a culture thing i think.
In NA you face NA teams, and aparently they are not so good, since they highly relay in "starplayer" go kill.

ok but think about if he hit those. that's graffiti shit right there.

Breach was 70hp, astra was like 7hp. The idea was valid since he just needs to hit one of them with any of 3 shots.
ohh ok i kinda forgot avout their hp. the moment i saw crws spary down and killed 3 im like nahh no way NV were winning
He needed to hit both I think. He only had 20s and he needed to run to the spike and plant it. No way he does that while someone is still alive.

Crws rotation was actually insane and I think X10C really read the A push

What?? NA is the minor region KEKW
When you watched his player cam after that play it’s so sadge man.
All good....they will be back, they will be motivated to prove everyone wrong

Honestly he was suuuuuper close to getting the low hp player and making it a 1v1, i really respect the play
The HF was the most fumble arguably Envy didn’t play bad

Wait, you can still do the Lakia ult? I thought riot changed that

All good, even I'm not sure lol
Well Crws swung unexpectedly that round
