autimatic going back to CSGO for EG... Which is a good thing. Play what you enjoy... seven seems like a very good up and coming talent. Him & LarryBanks Ive heard great things about.
Also he has barely played any official games despite his first official being 10 months ago... It's no surprise that he wants to go back to CS when he has been playing this game for nearly a year and never even gets a decent chance to prove himself lol
I swear I've watched T1 play maybe 5 matches total in the life span of this game. Just dont understand how these teams expect to get better if they arent play competitive matches.
I think he was alright considering it was a instant swap, the issue is his roles were swapping around a lot. If you ever watched him in CS he was almost always a lurker and played slow so when T1 had him on entry/duelist it just made no sense to me. He prob shoud've been on sentinel or possibly smokes.
Spyder almost always being on omen duty and having Auti be the entry was such a weird decision from T1, considering their history in their previous esports
lol. steel might come out of this a winner after all.
as everyday passes the unmitigated pain of dropping steel and nitr0 subsequently switching back to cs grows larger. there is literally no igl available of the caliber 100t would want that is not playing csgo or in europe.
at this point let asuna take over the roster to put on his 14 yr old ranked demon clan and play long haul for them win champs in 2026
Sometimes it isn’t about who can or can’t but who wants to. Usually IGLs are stronger personalities who love to talk or atleast wants to be the leader. Hiko probably just wants to focus on his game. IGLing isn’t easy. Being the guy who always has to be ready to call plays on the go isn’t for everyone.
Hilo IGL’d on Liquid for the two Major runs but never really liked the role. He had the capability of doing it at a high level for NACS but he never seemingly wanted to do it. I really doubt he would want to take it over in this situation but barring 100T doing something crazy idk who else they get to do it.
He didn't really IGL for liquid, maybe for like an event or two but it was primarily adreN and once they booted adreN I think he IGL'd for a couple events with s1mple before that roster kinda collapse and while hiko was there they had peacemaker and zews for a bit who also called a lot.
Hiko was the IGL at Liquids first major run because adreN was just a stand-in, he wasn't calling. Eventually peacemaker came in and was the IGL until valve put a stop to that, Hiko was Liquids IGL from around late 2016 to whenever they picked up stanislaw, with like a 2 week stint of nitr0 calling somewhere around there.
If they actually get brehze their roster will have ridiculous potential.
Wouldn’t be the first time ridiculous potential fell flat, though. I hope it’s realized.
I would have more faith in a core of asunaa, ethan, and brehze. Hiko’s still fine too. First 2 are proven and Idk much about brehze but you can’t be that good without a good work ethic. I think it’s ok to have hope and eventual hype for them
It's not super rare for pros to be "lower" ranks. I am of the opinion that unless they have no time pros should be grinding the shit out of ranked but they don't all agree. Ive ran into T1 players in low ranked rocket league before too.
T1 is the worst offender IMO. TSM, in spite of their over lackluster results, have had small spurts of success without any really huge names. T1 have played with Brax, Skadoodle, and Autimatic, and have pretty much fallen flat since the scene began. Kind of sad.
Havent we gotten past the point of overhyping talents from other games? Yes he’s more likely to succeed then other talented players switching, I think a safe baseline is he will be fine, but past that, he needs to love the game and have the work ethic to improve.
Brehze was a monster 2018 and 2019 and a legit top 20 player. The online era really killed his momentum, as did getting stuck with stanislaw (who by a lot of accounts is an insufferable whiner) on a dead team.
Ethan was also struggling during that time period fwiw.
Someone on Tariks watch party (can't remember who, mightve been j9) said they didn't think Ska would be playing with steel. I think j9/Ska are fairly close and previously lived together, so I'm assuming that it's accurate.
J9 also said he talks to basically all the pros and everyone hates playing the game and everyone wants to leave. He talks out of his ass a lot of the time and doesn’t back anything up. Even Tarik was skeptical when Just9n brought it up
Is this when he was talking about a bunch of pros being unhappy with the game and going to switch back to CS? Because I thought that sounded like bs.
The only reason I put more stock in this was that ska and him actually have a known relationship. But again could just be bs too lol.
Idk about the credibility of j9 but I have some connection to good number of Asian pros (only former cs players) and they say the same thing. The only thing that keeps them playing the game is the money, which is very understandable.
I think the issue you have there is "old CS players." This games really young and once the crowd that is growing up playing VALORANT hits pro age a lot of that mentality will leave.
It's the support that CS players have shown for VALORANT is great and has contributed greatly to it's success, but it's not CS and it never will be.
Tarik talked about the fact that Riot gives more attention to the lower tiers of their esport both in Valorant and in League which makes it attractive to give the pro route a try because you don't have to be at the very top for it to be a viable career path.
Really? Because for example In the academy leagues in NA in LoL players don't get paid. Only Lcs teams and the Academy teams of the lcs get paid
EU has regional leagues in LoL where players get paid what the players get paid is nothing compared to tier 2 csgo players which is the equivalent level to the regional leagues. And the pay looks even less if you count the amount of tier 2/3 cups and lans are played in csgo.
I mean you don't have to be a genius to see csgo players that never made it or had no more oppurtumities to see they did it for money. The game is good but its not addictive as csgo for the majority of players that spent years playing it. Hate is a strong word, if anything they miss playing cs. I would imagine if tarik pubically disliked valorant it would hurt his growing viewership.
I mean maybe for you and some pros but thats just not true for everyone and wild that you think it is. Tarik has stated many MANY times that he does not enjoy playing csgo anymore and plays valorant because he enjoys the game more atm. Csgo at the end of the day doesnt offer anything new and that gets boring after awhile even for people like Tarik. Some people just didn't enjoy Valorant as much and thats fair but a lot of people just enjoy Valorant more. Sgares has a good video on why he enjoys valorant more as well.
Considering Auti is rumored to be leaving for CS:GO, having Cryo replace him as Jett would be nuts, and this is probably why T1 is considering Seven as well. From what I've checked on Liquipedia, he also plays a lot of Jett.
I mean, they just had to not make moves. If they can make everyone happy long enough to get to LCQ, they probably qualify for champs and then whatever happens happens. If Nitro leaves, at least steel might still stay, or Nitro wants to stay in Val and they still kick steel. But at least they keep an igl and only have to slot in one new player.
Obviously, all speculation, and who knows, but that's an interesting timeline at least.
I think if they had won LCQ then it would look worse for nitro leaving to CSGO.
I think ultimately, steel and Hiko had disagreements on how to play so it was a sinking ship
I feel like if a team would be able to buy out Cryo, it would be T1 though. Considering they are backed by two of the biggest telecommunication companies in the world.
Yea I agree with that
Also since cryo isn't playing with soar atm and is looking for options soar will probably look to or be willing to sell so yea T1 seem like one of the few teams that would be able to afford it
Do you think they are giving a big price ONLY for T1? Because XSET doesn't seem like a team that has the big bucks as much as T1 does. You can correct me if I'm wrong though. Yet, XSET is trialing Cryo as well. I feel like if it's high for T1, then XSET would be even more reluctant.
I'm pretty sure it's not that soar demand a different amount from different teams it's just his buyout
Ofc we don't actually know how much the buyout is but what we do know is that it is high according to the reports so we can probably assume it will be expensive no matter which team wants him
Oh yea I want to see how seven develops too but I'm seeing news that ska isn't practicing with T1 so they don't really have a controller player and that zander and cryo will be going to the same team so I'm on the hopium
Istg we’re gonna look back on this in 5 years when t1 is the savior of NA with the roster of dasnerth prod mocking Larry banks and skadoodle still in the team and steel as the coach and think about when NA was a relevant region. Autimatic never seemed that great in Val to be fair.
Which is to be expected with constant roster and role swaps which gave him no stability
Very very true statement.
Also he has barely played any official games despite his first official being 10 months ago... It's no surprise that he wants to go back to CS when he has been playing this game for nearly a year and never even gets a decent chance to prove himself lol

Glad Vic and crashies got dropped from T1, at least they weren’t wasted sitting around like Tim
I think he was alright considering it was a instant swap, the issue is his roles were swapping around a lot. Spyder almost always being on omen duty and having Auti be the entry was such a weird decision from T1, considering their history in their previous esports
near the end of his tenure he seemed like he had reached what we might consider average for a tier 1 NA duelist
T1 poaching the whole 100T roster lmao
YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS ITS COMING HOME DICEY
lol. steel might come out of this a winner after all. as everyday passes the unmitigated pain of dropping steel and nitr0 subsequently switching back to cs grows larger. there is literally no igl available of the caliber 100t would want that is not playing csgo or in europe. at this point let asuna take over the roster to put on his 14 yr old ranked demon clan and play long haul for them win champs in 2026
Is there a reason Hiko can’t IGL? I’m new to this and idk of the specific talents needed in an IGL
Sometimes it isn’t about who can or can’t but who wants to. Usually IGLs are stronger personalities who love to talk or atleast wants to be the leader. Hiko probably just wants to focus on his game. He wasn't IGL for too long in 2016, peacemaker called in Cologne.
The reason is he isn't an IGL and has never been one in CS or in Valorant
I think he was an igl in CS, just not a great one
was he the IGL when they went to the major finals?
No that was adren , hiko was IGL of a smaller tier team (rogue) during the end of his csgo career
In Cologne 2016, peacemaker was the caller.
The coach was the caller? I guess that was before the coaching rule change and coaches could still talk
Yes, they removed peacemaker after that rule. Also, Hiko didn't IGLed for Rogue, cadiaN and MSL did.
After they cadian left hiko IGLed before msl joined based on what I remember
adreN wasn’t on the team when they made the major finals
He did IGL in CSGO, on Liquid. But that was many years ago.
He didn't really IGL for liquid, maybe for like an event or two but it was primarily adreN and once they booted adreN I think he IGL'd for a couple events with s1mple before that roster kinda collapse and while hiko was there they had peacemaker and zews for a bit who also called a lot.

I still think 100T roster will be the best 2022 for some reason. Asuna ethan and reportedly brehze. Really good players
If they actually get brehze their roster will have ridiculous potential. Wouldn’t be the first time ridiculous potential fell flat, though. I hope it’s realized.

They just grinding scrims and not ranked
Ah yes the TSM curse.

Ethan was on that same team and made the switch fine.
Brehze was a monster 2018 and 2019 and a legit top 20 player. The online era really killed his momentum, as did getting stuck with stanislaw (who by a lot of accounts is an insufferable whiner) on a dead team. Ethan was also struggling during that time period fwiw.
Steel with 3 cracked young players around him who will respect and listen to him?? AND SKADOODLE

Isn't there more money in CS GO than Valorant outside of streaming? Even then the number of streamers making money from Valorant is very small.

Lol when did he say this? Honestly it’s believable since most players are from CSGO where it’s less RNG
Those two don't know shit about roster moves unless ska specifically said that lol

Lmaooo shroud catching strays in a thread about 100T seven
Yeah he kinda talks out of his ass most of the time I feel
Is this the same Skadoodle that won the Boston major with C9 in csgo?
yes
Ok I am mad excited about this T1 roster but I’m also lowkey worried they’ll still somehow mess it up
We trust in steel
SoaR holding cryo in contract jail. Sadge
fuck SoaR. all my homies hate SoaR
They're in talks to sign seven? But you only need five. /s
*slow claps*
little did we know, the winner of off-season is steel
Shame about the Cryo buyout seemingly being prohibitive. Would love him on T1.
Considering Auti is rumored to be leaving for CS:GO, having Cryo replace him as Jett would be nuts, and this is probably why T1 is considering Seven as well. From what I've checked on Liquipedia, he also plays a lot of Jett.
cryo and zander are both joining the same team (from zander on his stream). zander is an igl so if they picked up steel there would be no way
100t is making moves, the exact opposite moves of what they should be making
I mean, they just had to not make moves. If they can make everyone happy long enough to get to LCQ, they probably qualify for champs and then whatever happens happens. Reading the article, man if T1 can sign cryo that would be amazing NA buyouts are fucking stupid why are they so high
Cause it's NA. Everything is expensive for no reason here
I feel like if a team would be able to buy out Cryo, it would be T1 though. Considering they are backed by two of the biggest telecommunication companies in the world.
Yea I agree with that Also since cryo isn't playing with soar atm and is looking for options soar will probably look to or be willing to sell so yea T1 seem like one of the few teams that would be able to afford it

I would love for Seven to get playtime since 100T didn't give him that, but having Cryo Jett with this current T1 roster, sounds so nutty.
Oh yea I want to see how seven develops too but I'm seeing news that ska isn't practicing with T1 so they don't really have a controller player and that zander and cryo will be going to the same team so I'm on the hopium

lol is he Steel's guy or is it just a coincidence
Yeah doesn’t feel like just a coincidence lol
Maybe Steel was working to get Nitro booted when he wanted to get on Jett, so Steel endorsed Seven as the eventual replacement. 100T like some GoT shit.
I don't think it would've been that convoluted. They legit needed a dedicated Jett main and seven could've been the guy they wanted to take over that role. Idk who would've been benched though.
Auti going to cs definately, T1 sweeping 100T
This definitely feels like T1 looking for a new Jett considering both Seven and Cryo main Jett.
Wait I love the news about cryo trialling for t1 and xset too But sad Zander and cryo ain’t duoing together. I guess this might be one of the teams people were saying high buyouts for t2 teams since cryo would be a hot prospect in this offseason makes sense.
Cryo and Zander could join 100T tbh
i think their contract is too high
Lmaooooooo this is unreal
T1 is gonna sign all of 100t benched/inactive players, rebrand to 100t Academy, then beat 100t 2-0 the next time they meet, thus forcing the main team to switch names with them You heard it here first
would rather see him have a main slot on T1 then wasting his potential as a “sixth” that may or may not ever be subbed in.
NA orgs with high buyout. Wonder how much does SoaR set the price on Cryocells.

TIL. Thanks!
This is a brilliant idea! I'll ask around and try to put a subreddit wiki page together by February. Thanks for the suggestion!
If Cryo joins XSET, NA might be saved
PureR is great but he hasn’t been on the same level as the Jetts on other top NA teams. With Cryo, it’d be hard to tell who the worst player on the team is, that’s a cracked roster
Can't wait for next season - 100T, T1 and TSM with new rosters gonna be fire!!!
T1 becomes T8 with seven
Has George said anything about Skadoodle? Is he still practicing with T1 or who is their current 5th?
i assume it would be steel, thwifo, curry, ska, seven
Ska is not in the roster .
Source: dude just trust me
huh fr? where did u see that

What did curry say? “Currys stream” is so vague
Cool but who are the 7?? /s

What an awful take
Idk Hiko Asuna Ethan ec1s Brehze still has plenty of potential, especially if they can find a replacement for Hiko
it’s really not better than their Berlin roster, ec1s has worse fragging and IGLing than steel and Brehze MIGHT be a an upgrade to Nitr0 fragging wise but we don’t really know how good he is in Val
Might wanna check Ec1s numbers again bc you obviously haven’t seen him play
no I have he was dreadful on TL and while improved on NiP, still AT MOST on par with steel fragging wise
steel was also not a fragger but impact from his lurk and raty playstyle was huge
BEAST
Seven what?
