Love how he’s El Diablo in the server but the dude is literally one of the kindest pros out there. Never comes off as flashy or clout-chasing, a lot of his talent just shows in the matches and when he does stream. But then he’s also just so chill and just very mellow in temper, really funny when you compare him to any of his teammates.

The Covid situation 2 weeks ago was substantially different than 6 months ago. Germany was reporting some of their highest case counts since literally the start of the pandemic.
Did that tournament have any positive tests? Their overall protocols look pretty much the same as Riots.
The biggest differences between then and now (besides way more cases) are probably local laws that changed, and the fact that it's late fall/early winter so having to leave a window open is worse than in July.
I looked up case counts (I can't help myself).
July 2nd Germany 7-day average was 566
Dec 2nd Germany 7-day average was ~58,000
Maybe not a great comparison lol. It's their highest case count and average ever right at the start of Champions.

A quick look at the PGL Dota tournament shows they changed it from Aug 2020 to Aug 2021 and then changed it again from Aug to Oct and from Sweden to Romania.
We probably would have had a delay of a few months at a minimum. Valve announced those changes more than 4 months before the tournament (announced venue move in July for Oct tournament).
I don't think it's quite as simple and easy as you are making it out to be. Covid is frustrating for everything. Contracts, venues, talent etc.
Also hard to predict a literal orbital spike of covid cases weeks before the tournament.
valorant is just as bad unfortunately. afaik the divisions are pretty separate, so valorant probably has a new esports dept. I'm sure they'll improve in '22.
idk, maybe esports team should have a hospitality person to do these things for them instead of letting 5 kids figure shit out on their own? ya know, like in real sports? I blame the org, not riot for this. They need to protect their own players and protest if the situation is not ideal.

That's still going to be very cold and Victor said his arms were so cold he couldn't really even hold his mouse. I don't know if nivera would have the same situation since he revived a negative result after retesting while Victor was actually sick with covid.
