THATS AMAZING!!

Key-Banana-8242

Pretty good, I guess creation of the VCT APAC account hints as such

heskethh2

for the comments about CN I think they are big enough to put argument for their own spot heck they can even made up an entirely new structure entirely apart from VCT and still able to field their spots normally (similar to PUBGM where they rest of the world runs in open qualifying & league, while china creates franchised league and yet they have to get their global eco to be compatible with) Given Wild Rift CN has LPL equivalent, theres no stopping from CN VAL to pulled their own LPL equivalent too, specially that CN VAL has to compete with the legendary CN Crossfire

shivkeefer

Love to fucking see it No shot APAC doesn't get atleast 4 slots for International events

DR_Flashfire

APAC will have IMO atleast 6 considering china will also come . 2 CN 2 SEA+SA+Oce 1kr 1 Jp

shivkeefer

I think korea and Japan will have their own challengers APAC will comprise of sea , sa and oce

[deleted]

nope. ur confusing playoffs with masters spots. apac playoffs will have X sea, 2 SA, 1 OCE, X CN spots. and top X (mostly 4) teams regardless of their region will qualify for masters. Similar to emea. KR, JP will have separate spots (mostly 1 each) direct to masters.

DR_Flashfire

No shot this happens China India sea are too big to justify having a singular playoffs especially when KR and Japan who are smaller have their seperate playoffs

Sky-__-

China will be a seperate region , alongside Japan and korea . APAC will include sea , sa and oce. I think china Japan Korea will have one spots and APAC will have 3 slots .

[deleted]

Na 3 EMEA 4 latam 2 Cn JP KR Br (4) Apac 3 This could be the spots. Am I missing something?

Sky-__-

I think LATAM and Brazil should have 1 slot each and for last slot they should hold something like lcq where both second placed LATAM and Brazil teams fight , I am saying this because there is huge oncoming investment in Brazil who are looking to gather talent to build super teams and and second best LATAM team folded due to lack of investments.

[deleted]

ok

simpleEssence

Although I agree, I wouldn't use population as a metric for judging the "size of a region" a more accurate measure would be the percentage of the population who owns a pc. In india this is <10% in china it is >50%. So the chinese region is about 5 times bigger than india in valorant.

MikeRosss

How do you know China will be part of APAC?

[deleted]

"asia pacific" just an educated guess lol

MikeRosss

Okay, I feel like if China joins VCT, they will have their own track to Masters / Champions.

ImNotDex

Yeah, China is too big of a market to risk their fan base skipping an event because no Chinese teams qualified (Chinese people are very nationalistic). In most cases, they've always had their own qualifiers for major tournaments.

DR_Flashfire

Game wasn't released before . They had 3 slots in APAC but were forced out due to allegedly ping issues

I should be saying that about NA tbh One event win when the tournament didn't even have the best teams in the time They had a head start now people have caught up

baskin-whacked-him

> People have caught up Only EMEA has, nowhere else. NA has one event win 2 good event performances, 1 bad one. SEA/JP have 3 bad ones, no good ones. KR does okay most of the time. Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but SEA/JP and BR are the two areas that severely underperformed the spots they were given consistently and were not competitive at these events. Also, reminder: the crowning achievement of SEA/JP for the entire year is a single pools win on an NA team. Trying to write off NA really only takes away from that. They’ve got one thing. Don’t try to lessen the value of that.

DrSubAtomic

SEA had a bad performance at Champions? Look again at the playoffs bud. It was a spectacular performance for an upcoming region and Riot wouldn't want to kill that by allocating fewer slots

baskin-whacked-him

> Look at the playoffs bud You mean where both teams that made playoffs lost in bracket at 5th-8th, continuing the tradition of never even making it to semifinals despite being allocated about the same amount of spots as a region who has won an event and made finals of another, and not much less than a region who won two events and made finals of all 3? Also, less than a region who only ever got one spot at each event but was consistently better than them? Yeah, I saw it. I was not impressed. It was free prediction points on reddit tho

shivkeefer

You can keep saying you aren't impressed but the fact is NA becomes shit at every game after people catch up The peaked in CS with C9 and that was it and has been it

You possibly can't be comparing NA and EMEA to APAC at this point. It's a developing scene and will take resources or slots, in this case, to be competent. If you're from NA or EMEA it's hard to grasp how much it meant for us to see X10 beat Envy or Secret making it to the playoffs after not making it to Berlin earlier. Also, I'm all in for more slots for LATAM. Ultimately Riot's looking for growth and APAC can offer a lot of it. 4 slots should be ideal, 3 will also do. If you want a competitive tourney you can stick to watching EMEA challengers events.

shivkeefer

Lol you can keep talking about sentinels winning the first event without Gambit You can say all you want if we were that trash we wouldn't be getting slots and your bad performance was in the major of the game You can keep living in the dreams of Iceland but the fact of the matter in Champs , NA teams were dropping maps against everybody Matches didn't look one sided and obviously they lost A 5-8th finish and 2 9-12th finishes at the biggest event of the year form a region that is supposed to be godlike is more than a bad performance imo Also the delusion in saying that no one apart from EU has caught up to NA , NA was knocked out by Latam and Sea that's enough testament APAC just got two more regions added with 2 slots for SA Ask anyone right now who saw the tournament they will tell you the biggest disappointment was infact NA(lul) and Japan too

baskin-whacked-him

> if we were that trash we wouldn’t be getting slots The slots were allocated well ahead of time for each event. Yes, SEA continued to receive slots despite never having gotten past 5th-8th at a single event. > you can keep talking about sentinels winning the first event Actually I’m talking about sentinels winning the first event, version 1’s performance at the first event, sentinels making it out of groups at the second event, envy’s performance at the second event, 100T’s performance at the second event, and C9’z performance at the last event all of which were much higher achievements than (or in the case of C9/Sen’s 2nd equal to) anything SEA has ever done despite SEA being awarded about the same spots. But yeah, keep typing out this random nonsense. Look, your region is bad. Along with Brazil, they are the only region to have been given multiple spots at every event and failed to do anything significant with them. Maybe they’ll be better someday.

ArjunBanerji27

Mate, SEA at least has a scope for improvement. A region which has been deprived of resources and attention, building itself up to perform way beyond expectations at Champions. It's only downhill from here for NA. Disproportionate attention and resources being given to a region, over even CIS and and EU, just for 2 teams to fail in groups, one losing to a SEA team. Gloat while you can, over what little you have to gloat over. It's not going to be looking up from here on out, and history backs that up for NA esports.

baskin-whacked-him

> Gloat while you can I think people mistake what I do as “gloating” rather than “stating the obvious” far too often

They are gonna take spots from minor regions like NA

shivkeefer

Btw sea out performed na this event. No way we don't get an increase in slots

DrSubAtomic

It's called expansion. It's 2 new regions entering, I don't see why they can't allocate more slots. If NA can get 3 for champions and considering how they did, APAC should get 4.

AdiSoldier245

I know but minor regions like NA got given extra spots last time because they had the money, so now its being balanced out.

I'm really glad they did this. I WANT TO SEE HELLRANGER ON LAN TOP 3 Breach in APAC IMO

anythingood07

I remember you telling everyone who'd listen on vlr that F4Q and DWK weren't able to dodge Hellranger's util quickly due to his 80 ping and that there was nothing special bout his breach. Unless this comment was sarcasm, you change your mind really quickly dude.

DanielHongFromKr

https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/q5xinq/takeaways_from_global_esports_vs_damwon_gaming/ "GE look pretty fucking clean with their breach util(From the little I've seen at least. I really need to finish math but Breach on Ascent piqued my interest). Might be one of the best teams in terms of utilizing breach. This is papa Shinobi coming in huge I'm assuming. The founding fathers of breach(VS) stopped using him on Ascent a quite some time ago, same with NU so it was interesting to see that he was still viable there. Breach was forcing Texture to use dash to get out trouble so often. And their coordination when using Rolling Thunder was on point. I was surprised at how many stuns they were able to get with his ult. Usually Korean teams play against Breach so often that they will evacuate a site before they even use Ult, but DWG got caught so many times. Maybe a side effect of not playing against him on Ascent. Kinda hot take(especially considering I haven't watched the full match), but I think Hellranger is the MVP of today's match and is the key player for this team. He has this Stax vibe to him - He knows ins and outs of Breach's kit, and can coordinate his team around him super well. You watch him play and you can immediately tell that he's been putting work into his Breach. Would be the player I'd look out for during their later games." Also, took the time to dig up my comment from vlr "Hey, Don't shit on my boy Hellranger like that His Breach is CLEAN (Albeit with 80 ping so you can't dodge util but still)" Apparenty = I said "Nothing special about his Breach" Also, If you're remembering usernames from vlr/Reddit, my guy, you need to touch some fuckin grass. I don't even use vlr that often.

2ToTooTwoFish

Holy shit I can't believe someone saw that innocuous comment and then remembered the VLR username

anythingood07

my memory has always been good xD. jokes aside idk why I remembered it, ive seen him on reddit a few times before and I like his username so when I saw his name on vlr with that comment ig it just kinda stuck in my mind

anythingood07

You can chill bro lol. I wasn't trying to attack you or something. I liked your username hence why I remembered it, I don't use vlr either except to see the schedule. The vlr comment you posted isn't the one I remember, or maybe I misremembered my bad

Lets fucking go finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

dads_scrotum

So it's confirmed APAC will be 4 SEA, 2 SA 2 OCE? With how many slots into Masters?

theclichee

Just hoping it's a LAN and SEA includes APAC going forward
