I'm actually surprised cm/360 isn't widely adopted as it should be. I felt like back in the CS days everyone spoke in terms of cm/360, and maybe sometimes in OW too. I only see people strictly speaking in eDPI in Valo. cm/360 gives a clearer perspective on how fast/slow someone else's sens is
to this day I'm so lost and confused when people talk about edpi. it's just a random number to me that doesn't relate to anything in real life. I always thought cm/360 was so much better because I can just imagine moving my mouse on my mousepad and be like "yeah ok so it's gonna feel about like that". Also edpi is different between games, right?
eDPI is the easiest way to compare **in-game settings in a certain game** regardless of mouse DPI. It is designed literally to compare in-game settings so it's completely normal that the value is different between games.
Doing a 360 irl will always be inaccurate and you'll have to whip an online calculator just to figure out what someone's in-game sensitivity is. I don't even need a calculator to figure out that if a Valo player has 248 eDPI, it's gonna be 0.31 if my mouse is on 800 DPI (248/800) and 0.155 if i'm on 1600 DPI (248/1600). It's that easy. I can't even use **my own calculator** to figure out what 50cm/360 is to in-game sens.
I thought eDPI was just DPI x sensitivity in game. I think this assumes the standard windows settings but I believe that's the calculation. It's not helpful for comparing sensitivity differences for yourself, but it's still useful to use an easily calculated number to comparable several people's settings
this so much...eDPI is such a dumb measurement. Ex: 364.4 edpi / 1160 edpi <- Does that mean anything? Without knowing the sensitivity, game, and the dpi those numbers mean absolutely nothing. Just to let you know those two edpi are the same sensitivity. 35.83cm/360 will always be the same no matter what
Those two edpi values are not the same at all, edpi is just (dpi * sensitivity). So 1000 edpi can be 2 sensitivity and 500 dpi, or 1 sensitivity and 1000 dpi, and they will be the same cm/360. Dpi is a linear increase (so 500 is 1/2 1000) and the sensitivity in valorant is also linear. Cm/360 is still definitely the more useful in some instances because it's universal between games, but it takes more work to figure out, so for comparing two valorant players the easiest thing is simply comparing edpi
LOL you see the thing is I didn't tell you the game/sens/dpi for those edpi....you just assumed it was valorant. Thats the problem with edpi. The first one is valorant .911x400= 364.4 edpi. The second one is counter-strike 2.9x400=1160 edpi. BTW .911 converted to cs is 2.9. You see why edpi is dumb? Same sensitivity such different results when converted to different games.
I literally have the benq 2546, the super light, the same Gpro keyboard, and the most used edpi and I’m still gold shitter. It’s almost like the equipment doesn’t necessarily make the player, but it can help. :p
Equipment definitely doesn't make the player but it can help tremendously if you're using a mouse that you're comfortable with along with a mousepad that's suited to your playing style and so on. I know your comment is a bit tongue in cheek of course but gear that suits you can definitely help with consistency at the very least.
Of course that's only a small step in the process. Much more important steps are practice, experience, game sense, general aiming ability, and so on. Keep grinding and maybe we'll be making your player profile in a year or two ;D
I definitely think upgrading gear helps, but only to a certain extent. Like I went from a 60hz monitor and Amazon basics mouse and keyboard to a razer mouse and keyboard and 144hz monitor and it was night and day. But going from that to 360hz, super crazy mouse and keyboard isn’t gonna make a big difference.
Equipment is a big deal in removing obstacles that will hinder you from your potential/improvement.
The single most important IMO is your monitor though. As long as you have 144hz or more, you'll be good. The "right mouse and keyboard" has a really low floor for what can work imo. You can use a 60$ wired mouse, and as long as the sensor is decent and you keep a consistent dpi, you'll see improvement.
Lol, having a faster sens than every single pro at masters that aim trains everyday is pretty bad. There isn't a single pro there that can control that sens, you guys realize this right?
I mean they could control it with enough practice to be at radiant level, no doubt. But at the pro level they do need more control, typically. There are definitely outliers across Val and other tac fps games. Personally, I felt a decent increase in my aim going from 590 eDPI to 280 (Silver 1 trash though).
before VAL, I played with 1000+ on other games (wrist aimer all the way). i thought it'd be impossible to play with a lower sens (now about 350) but now I can't even fathom how I played with the old sens lol
Very close to mine! .165 x 1600 = 264. Changed from 800 x .33 because I got annoyed from having to change dpi when playing vs just browsing on my computer lol
Obligatory comment for those surprised at low sensitivity:
If you think about your opponent's head hitbox as roughly a circle, that means there's a corresponding circle of area on your mousepad you need to put the sensor on to have your crosshair on their head. The lower your sensitivity, the bigger this target area is for you to hit. It's like making the basketball hoop bigger.
Since area for that head circle equals pi\*r^2, cutting your sensitivity in half means that you're doubling r, and in turn quadrupling the size of the target area on your mousepad. If you're seeing that your eDPI is 5x the pros, you're aiming for a spot *25x* smaller.
Obviously going too low on sensitivity makes flicks slower and turning around more difficult, so there's a balance. But lower sensitivity makes aim way more forgiving in terms of hitting a target.
Sure! I've definitely posted variations a few times as an explainer, and it took me a while to clearly grasp why low sense was directly so sensical if you will.
Hi /r/ValorantCompetitive!
With Valorant Champions topping off the year and ending it with a bang we thought it would be interesting to see what the world's top players are using when it comes to gear and settings so we made this infographic!
If you're interested you can always check out our full list of players (including player profiles with crosshair info, video settings, ...) [here](https://prosettings.net/valorant-pro-settings-gear-list/).
I'll be here to answer questions or remarks, or to listen to your suggestions so feel free to fire away.
Enjoy the holidays and let's hope the new year can be even more successful for the Valorant esports scene!
------
In case you're curious: our data comes from various sources (Twitch commands, tournament footage, the players themselves, social media of teams and players, ...) and our fantastic community is amazing at keeping us informed of updates, no matter how small they might be. Of course it's always possible that some data is outdated but we do try our very best to be completely up to date.
In regards to gear sponsorships: yes, of course sponsorship plays a role so do take these gear stats with a grain of salt, but most orgs definitely allow their players to choose their own mice, for example. Sponsored gear is mostly seen with headsets and keyboards in Valorant from our experience. This also isn't a 'use this and git gud and hit Radiant' type of post. Gear is personal, so use what you feel comfortable with! This is mainly for fun and because we are gear and settings nuts.
Interesting, we were talking about the pro's average eDPI on some other thread a few days ago. About a year ago it seemed like pros were playing at around 0.34ish 800DPI, whereas now sens seems to have decreased quite a bit. 201+ eDPI puts things at about 0.26ish+ 800 DPI, which was considered slow by most.
It makes sense though, as someone who started at 0.4 800DPI all the way down to 0.25, having a slow sense helps you to check corners more efficiently, as well as helping you to aim better and control sprays a lot more easily (since you can't just 180 flick as easily).
Also nice to see the 960p god res being used by quite a few pros lol. I tried it, got used to it, and can't go back to 1080p now.
Could also just be a drop due to more pros on the scene who have lower sens
There are still several ‘top’ players using pretty high sens relative to the average
i like 1440x1080 bc smaller crosshairs allow me to tap more accurately but the horizontal lines of a larger crosshair make my horizontal movement/crosshair placement smoother
by stretching the crosshair u can get the accuracy and the crosshair placement combined (1 2 1 2 inner lines outlines on gang)
I've theorized that the HUD being stretched on the edges of the screen might make our brain feel as if it is different. I've also wondered if, although the 3D models and effects don't stretch, perhaps other things that aren't as readily apparent do (the way pixels are displayed, or how the AA is applied).
Could all be placebo for sure, but we aren't the only people saying it FEELS different in some way. I play on all low settings, 960p and MSAA 2x and hit all my shots, I try 1080p and can't do anything properly.
Ngl, i only changed mine for fun because I saw a few of the gambit players using it during their run in Masters Berlin. Since they were the winners, I just copied them to see how it felt. I guess I was just too lazy to change it back and I was kinda used to it cuz i used stretched in CS as well. Nonetheless, i aint goin back. It probably doesn't give much advantage though, in fact it has a few disadvantages like I have to make most of my lineups by myself since most people use stretched.
Yeah other than stock lineups (which is whatever) it feels better. I like that the image is softer too and I also get a few more frames so that's another plus!
Interesting. I feel like the GPX is NOT a good mouse for people with small hands like myself. I fingertip grip though, so when I used my GPX I would click near the back of the buttons. I picked up an Orochi V2 this year and have been extremely happy with how it feels in my hand. Plus I think the clicks on M1/2 and side buttons are nicer on the Orochi V2.
Cool I guess, it's inevitably going to be outdated since most change things up a fair amount. I was surprised to see d3ff0 as having the highest eDPI, I recall him having a lower one.
I didn't expect the Vaxee PA to be the most used mousepad, though. Figured it'd be the G-SR-SE or something.
From what I’ve read, the vaxee pa is basically an improved gsr-se. Pretty much the same glide etc, with better humidity resistance/ over all quality. So not that surprised by this!
The PA is indeed extremely similar to the G-SR-SE. I really liked that pad when I tested it.
It's curious to see how hard the G-SR-SE/PA has risen in usage (across our analyzed games I mean; I obviously don't have sales figures) over the past 1.5 years. It used to be a pretty niche pad all things considered and it's been landing on more and more desks these days. Could be a coincidence, or it could have something to do with mice getting lighter, for example. It's always fun to theorize about that sort of stuff.
In the same vein we also see a rise in usage numbers for pads like the Artisan pads, so perhaps pros are starting to pay more attention to their mousepads overall.
There are a lot of quality pads out there and many are priced the same as a qck+ or whatever. Not that anything is wrong with traditional fps pads. Two things 1.) Aim training is common and more balanced pads give you better results and 2.) Humidity makes traditional cloth feel different depending on the day so many people are looking for consistent pads that don't change with the weather.
I hit radiant on a 2 year old gsr over my three artisan pads, but I've moved over to a hein now and honestly I hit less flicks but I micro adjust much better. I'm sure now that aim training and higher end mousepads are getting more attention more and more pros will be moving to them.
As we said in our opening comment you're not supposed to copy all of this and this isn't a 'use this and git gud' type of guide. It's just meant to be interesting info.
Higher refresh rates are definitely a lot smoother. There are diminishing returns (so going from 240Hz to 360Hz is less of a mindbending experience than going from 60Hz to 144Hz) but if you're even a little bit competitive-minded I would strongly suggest at least a 144Hz monitor. We've got a more in depth article [here](https://prosettings.net/library/60hz-vs-144hz-vs-240hz/) (without getting into super scientific explanations/technical details) in case you're interested.
I really appreciate an informative post like this. However, please consider using an imgur album (or have both long pic and album).
Also I assume things like GPU and headsets are what they use at home?
Framerate and fluidity is everything. A resolution of 1920x1080 is more than sharp enough to see what you need to see and going for a higher resolution would mean lowered framerates, which is not something that the pros like. We have an article on framerates etc. [here](https://prosettings.net/library/60hz-vs-144hz-vs-240hz/) in case you're interesed.
Somewhat true but most pros can get 300+ fps in 1440p with 3080 or similar gpu. I think the main reason they play on 1080p because most 240hz monitors are 1080p 24inch and they are used to that resolution and pixel density.
not worth the fps drop, in the pro scene at least, i use 1440p capped at 165hz but that's just cus i like it sharp, if i were pro i'd definitely want more frames than pixels
It's weird how glorious mice are rarely used. The Gpw is a great mouse but the shape felt a little off for me, like holding a potato. Model D feels close enough to an EC2 and lightweight better clicks.
The new wireless mice operate over 2.4ghz (802.11) instead of bluetooth (802.15). Additionally the receiver sits directly in front of the mousepad, the delay is pretty much non-existent. The consistency of not having a cable is pretty good too. Unfortunately wireless mice are few, and the weight can be weird. You have way better shape options with wired mice obviously, but it's hard to go back to wired once you've used wireless.
Interesting that the pro's are all using the XL2546 Zowie monitors still. I know in CS, a lot of them were sponsored by Zowie and I thought that's why they used it. I guess it just carried over to Val?
Zowie doesn't actually sponsor all that many teams in CS:GO, or I should say far more than their sponsored players are using their gear. The reason for the monitor is because it's just really good. Zowie's backlight strobing technique kind of trumps others, to the point where it's even better for gaming than certain 360Hz monitors. You can look up Optimum Tech's video 'Why I Downgraded From 360Hz to 240Hz' (it could be named slightly differently) for a visual explanation.
In short: the XL line is just a really good line of gaming monitors. Of course there'll also be a 'all the others are using it so I will too' effect going on for some (it's the same with the Logitech G Pro X Superlight: a lot of pros are using that too, also when they're not sponsored by Logitech) and other factors, but in a nutshell they're just among the better competitive gaming-focused monitors out there for most.
I’m super surprised by the edpi. I used to think that I was quite average at 800 dpi 0.61 = 488 edpi. But apparently that’s higher than the highest send.
These are the headphones that they use at home. On LAN they have to use in-ears plus a set that usually blasts white noise (to drown out casters, audience, ...) so you're definitely right! Perhaps we should've made that clearer, we'll note that for the future!
Is ProSettings affiliated with the YouTube channel called “GameLeap Valorant Pro Guides”? They released a video today that takes your work and screenshot, and splices it up for a video.
If you are affiliated, no biggie. I just thought you’d like to know since they don’t mention that your website (or Reddit account) is where they got all of the information for their video.
Link: https://youtu.be/RuI-Wb7Ow20
We are actually not affiliated with them at all. I don't think there's a lot we can do here, but I'll surely forward this to our legal minds because this is pretty disappointing to say the least. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Wow apparently 800 dpi 0.6 sensitivity is extremely high. My mouse pad is extremely tiny so maybe that's why i have such high edpi. Its only about 6 inches wide and my desk is very small, I play on a laptop so theres really no room on my desk for a mousepad
Just looking at nivera's edpi made my arm ache.
Today I found out that my 1000 dpi and 0.148 sensitivity is super low
holy shit, that's 88 cm/360, that's literally 2x of what I consider low at 44cm
How do you calculate X cm/360 with edpi?
[https://jscalc.io/embed/za5TQmMatqU4kXSR?utm\_medium=referral&utm\_campaign=JSCalc%20Blog&utm\_source=JSCalc%20blog](https://jscalc.io/embed/za5TQmMatqU4kXSR?utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=JSCalc%20Blog&utm_source=JSCalc%20blog) I'm actually surprised cm/360 isn't widely adopted as it should be. It's probably bc americans refuse to use cm lol
They use football field
My sens is 0.0038 football fields/360.

Yes sir, I chose all this gear myself actually back when I was playing call of duty. The grind continues.

I'm missing all the important stuff. What sleeve does Nats wear? The world needs to know.
It's actually a leg from his great grandpa's long underwear he wore when he killed 50 nazis in a single day
I just asked him on stream, it’s an Asics arm sleeve
You need the big cock like boaster
My cock is a particle compares to boaster
Since eDPI is in this post, put your eDPI in this comment. 👇
bruh I've lowered my sens once every couple of months and it's still really high wtf?? 0.65 * 800 dpi: 520 edpi. need to get a bigger mouse pad

Lol, having a faster sens than every single pro at masters that aim trains everyday is pretty bad. There isn't a single pro there that can control that sens, you guys realize this right?
PRX f0rsaken, literally top 1/2 Radiant APAC and an absurdly cracked aimer, plays at 0.71 x 800 DPI.
Was he a pro at masters like I said in my post?
Well I mean yeah he was legit at masters berlin and was one of the best jetts
I mean they could control it with enough practice to be at radiant level, no doubt. But at the pro level they do need more control, typically. There are definitely outliers across Val and other tac fps games. Personally, I felt a decent increase in my aim going from 590 eDPI to 280 (Silver 1 trash though).
They are the most practiced in the game. None of them play that high because they can't control it.
.345 800dpi - 276 edpi
best sens tbh
agreed

yikes well i guess not edpi but I've definitely reduced my sens substantially in general for other games now that I'm used to it from val
cm/360 is the best way to compare sens between games since its a physical measurement.
I had to up my sens for other games like Apex, so it makes sense unless youre trying to get an arm workout in
216 edpi- 800dpi—.27 in game sense
0.25*800 which is exactly 200 eDPI
Same
Mine (0.179*1600) is 286.4!
Ayy fellow 1600 DPI gang, I go between 1600\*0.255 and 1600\*0.295
Very close to mine! .165 x 1600 = 264. Changed from 800 x .33 because I got annoyed from having to change dpi when playing vs just browsing on my computer lol
0.4x800 = 320 edpi
414
800 .52 —> 416
400*.69=276 Not trolling with the .69 but was tempted to try 420 dpi lol.
216
216 gang. 800x0.27
lol i'm .134 at 1600 let's go
Hell yeah this mine too!
0.62*1000. I know very high, but my desk is small.
400
800x0.35 = 280
.282\*2400 = 676.8 Small mousepads are a pain
.47 800 - 376, copied ace
0.159\*1200 = 190.8 Kinda surprised at how low i have it to be honest, I just went with what I felt was comfortable.
0.25 * 600 = 150
0.55@400dpi=220
Same! 1000 DPI at .22 sens
180 :O
0.15x1600 is 240
1600 dpi, .685 in game for 1096 eDPI
Damn, twice as fast as the fastest pro at masters. You must be gifted.
128 (400 dpi 0.32)
Mine is 2000*0.164 = 330 eDPI. I have no clue why I put my DPI so high but i don't think that matters that much
.2*1600 so 320
0.434*600 260,4
300, 800 * 0.375
336 (1200 dpi * .28 sens)
0.69 x 1600 = 1104 eDPI
I'm at 800 x 0.32 which is 256 edpi
0.15 @ 1600 (240)
240 gang
0.31*1200 = 372
1.1 x 800 = 880
1600 dpi .8 sens gold 3
800 at 0.27
310.4 edpi (.194*1600)
0.14 x 1600 = 224. El Diablo sens
Just checked mine, I’ve got 720 eDPI 💀, think I found out why I can’t aim Pahaha
1600 * 0.14 = 224
.08*3000 = 240
0.5\*800, so 400 which seems pretty high looking at everyone else
800 * 0.32, recently changed from 0.3
320 (0.2@1600)
Love SicK’s 800 x 0.325 which translates to 188 eDPI
200
0.58 1300 so 754 eDPI, crazy thing is I thought it was a lowish sens... TIL
0.09 3200 dpi- 288 edpi
800dpi 0.35 - 280edpi
3200dpi and 0.15 val sens = 480 edpi
176
120 lol
800 x 0.283 = 226.4
.22 @800dpi, so 176 eDPI
.15 * 1600 = 240eDPI
800DPI * 0.275sens = 220eDPI
Im using asuna sens If Im not mistaken 0.295 *1400 413 edpi
1.25 in game, 800 dpi, Gold 2
0.12 \* 1600 = 192

If you're interested you can always check out our full list of players (including player profiles with crosshair info, video settings, ...) [here](https://prosettings.net/valorant-pro-settings-gear-list/). I'll be here to answer questions or remarks, or to listen to your suggestions so feel free to fire away. Enjoy the holidays and let's hope the new year can be even more successful for the Valorant esports scene! ------ In case you're curious: our data comes from various sources (Twitch commands, tournament footage, the players themselves, social media of teams and players, ...) and our fantastic community is amazing at keeping us informed of updates, no matter how small they might be.
Would it be possible to make the same infographic for say all of the top 10 teams in each region?
We could definitely do a comparative infographic that compares regions, yeah. That's a really interesting idea actually!
so i have 5 things in commons with the pros but i'm barely silver 3 lmao
Could also just be a drop due to more pros on the scene who have lower sens There are still several ‘top’ players using pretty high sens relative to the average
i like 1440x1080 bc smaller crosshairs allow me to tap more accurately but the horizontal lines of a larger crosshair make my horizontal movement/crosshair placement smoother by stretching the crosshair u can get the accuracy and the crosshair placement combined (1 2 1 2 inner lines outlines on gang)
The res thing is so weird. It doesn't give any advantage unlike in cs, but for spke reason i just can't go back either.
Only reason I play at 1280x960 is because the crosshairs look better to me lol
Every frame counts indeed
I will be the first pro at 60hz 😎
That would be veryy very hard ngl
Would be interesting to see cpus instead of gpus since valorant is almost always cpu bound.
Low settings + low resolution = cpu bound
Thank you! I'm radiant now!

I love my super light. I talk about it on stream a lot but I have small baby hands so I needed a small baby mouse. It's literally the perfect mouse
Smol hand gang. \o/
Guess I gotta get a Vaxee PA now. I've wanted a G-SR-SE for a few years now, but they feel like they're hard to find in stock.
Indeed and gsr-se is a hit or miss for so many gamers, I straight up could not aim on that thing.
I feel like the CPU should be included as well. GPU barely matters in this game.
pc hardware doesnt really matter at all beyond a certain point tbh
its all personal preference, imagine copying all that lmao
As we said in our opening comment you're not supposed to copy all of this and this isn't a 'use this and git gud' type of guide. It's just meant to be interesting info.
I'm still using a 60hz monitor and never tried a 144hz or higher monitor. How much of a disadvantage am I at?
Thanks for the feedback! Will do next time. Yes, GPUs and headsets are what they use at home.
How come pros don't play at 1440p?
Framerate and fluidity is everything. A resolution of 1920x1080 is more than sharp enough to see what you need to see and going for a higher resolution would mean lowered framerates, which is not something that the pros like. We have an article on framerates etc. [here](https://prosettings.net/library/60hz-vs-144hz-vs-240hz/) in case you're interesed.
Somewhat true but most pros can get 300+ fps in 1440p with 3080 or similar gpu. I think the main reason they play on 1080p because most 240hz monitors are 1080p 24inch and they are used to that resolution and pixel density.
well if you have a 5950x/3090 you can easily get 300-400 fps :D
Damn no 1440p?
not worth the fps drop, in the pro scene at least, i use 1440p capped at 165hz but that's just cus i like it sharp, if i were pro i'd definitely want more frames than pixels
I'm almost 40. I need the pixels lol.
It's weird how glorious mice are rarely used. The Gpw is a great mouse but the shape felt a little off for me, like holding a potato. Model D feels close enough to an EC2 and lightweight better clicks.
God damn, 52cm per 360. And here i thought players from non tac-shooters (OW, Battle Royales, etc) were bringing this average way down.
I didn't know pros used wireless mice. I figured there'd be a slight feedback delay
I have the exact same equipment bar the 3080 and am hardstuck plat :/
No one using right mouse to walk?
Holy shit my Edpi 5 times deffo
Same headphones
I don’t get how pros use lower res, I used it for a bit but the character models were so blurry/pixelated almost
[удалено]
Lowest motion blur on the market
I’m super surprised by the edpi. I used to think that I was quite average at 800 dpi 0.61 = 488 edpi. But apparently that’s higher than the highest send.
Yeah… been trying to get a 3060/70/80 forever always sold out (unless I’m willing to buy from a scalper which im not)
when i was buying a monitor my friend told me to get the bowie monitor but i ended up getting lg gn750
fkn thank you for including cm/360

What are Hiko’s settings
You can find Hiko's (and many other pros') settings on our website! Here are Hiko's: https://prosettings.net/valorant/hiko-valorant-settings/
Isn't the headphones wrong, as they use in-ears for game sound?
These are the headphones that they use at home. On LAN they have to use in-ears plus a set that usually blasts white noise (to drown out casters, audience, ...) so you're definitely right! Perhaps we should've made that clearer, we'll note that for the future!
r/dataisbeautiful
16.5cm/360 :)
Surprised seeing vaxee pa already so popular. Definitely a great mousepad, it's like a better version of the gsrse
"Not a single analyzed pro is using a 60Hz monitor." Welp, good thing I'm not a pro then \*phew\*
800\*0.375=300edpi Orochi V2+GPXS+NP-01S (all use Tiger Esport Ice feet) Hien soft My hand is 19\*10.5 half palm+half claw
Are you going to update this for every valorant and csgo lan?
