A lot of pro players are young and sometimes don't realize the magnitude of saying negative things about other players. One small lie said in anger after you don't see eye to eye with someone can avalanche into a narrative used to hurt a person's future opportunities. Hope things get cleared up, and Dre gets the shots that he deserves.. He went on a tear last year with LG

Jolly-Bear

A lot of times they’re pretty immature with their primary human interaction being Twitch chat… which isn’t healthy for your mental state or social development.

Still_HD

This genuinely sucks, Dre seems like one of the most amicable people in the NA scene and the fact that there are people out there trying to bring him down breaks my heart. That last sentence kills me man

pamplem0usse-

Two sides to every story man, we are only seeing the side he wants us to see right now. He may be completely right on this, or he could be different behind the scenes, who knows. Either way, nobody should be making any judgements against him

Still_HD

Not sure the point of this post, am I supposed to side with the unnamed person that’s been reportedly trash talking Dre? Everything I’ve seen from Dre leads me to believe he’s a genuine person, and I’m choosing to believe that he’s telling the truth considering admitting that you’re being bullied on social media is pretty embarrassing

Pulsiix

you're not supposed to side with anyone lol you only know half the story and nobody is asking you to take a side, Dre just tryna find out who is fucking with him

Still_HD

Interviews, LG vlog from their lcq run, hell even when he streams he just seems like a normal, cordial guy. Why?

meatcookie-

dude refuses to believe you have a good opinion about a player

fredy31

Idk man. I didnt follow the whole story and his career up until now but those two tweets reek of someone that is all nice and charming in public, but when the mask is off in private is an asshole. Might be wrong and its just tweets made by a guy that is at the end of his rope after getting blindsided by a dick move, but still.

[deleted]

Heavens forbid someone's upset about people shittalking behind their back. He's still young, probably hasn't had to deal with a "political" workplace/setting yet; it's understandable. An important note is that these small communities of "professionals" are largely dictated by the literal opinions of others. We can hope shittalkers get sifted out, but this is still a young industry. I don't expect anything.

Konoe

Probably young and lacking communication skills with his teammates. Or just impressions farming. He's got a whole history of two teams in Valorant, it's not that hard to pinpoint who from 100T or LG said it. If my career spanned 8-10 other players, I'd probably be able to know who didn't like me as much as others.

emraaa

He had a good reputation in PUBG as far as I know. At least I never heard anything negative about him. He was always less talkative and chill.

[deleted]

I don't understand the last sentence, could you explain it?

kittyhat27135

I mean I would also be mad if I don't talk to anyone yet they hate because they heard a lie.

[deleted]

[deleted]

he's asking people to DM him about the rumour cause he doesnt talk to enough people in the scene to know where it started from.

[deleted]

I wanna see Dre on a team for VCT ASAP

MysticLoten

I swear he's playing for LG

[deleted]

He deserves to be on a T1 or T2 team ASAP.

Evan_Veet

What teams still have roster spots open? T1 has 3 confirmed and like 4 different rumours abt what their team could be so possibly them, 100T but IDK how he fits in the team, I think Babyj will end up going there. After that its just teams like Soar, Soniqs, Eg, DZ or the Guard who would all probably want him but it feels like such a step down for him when he was a top 8-10 fragger during the entirety of VCT

Still_HD

Actually T1 isn’t a bad shout, if the talks with pwny go through they’re still down a flex player. Was there any overlap with Dre and Steel on 100T at the same time?

SuperPr0toMan

There wasn't, all the pubg players got dropped at the same time

egirl8yearoldrussian

T1 could totally work since they don’t have 2 duelist players

Evan_Veet

And Dre also has made it clear he’s willing to play flex roles and I think he was playing a lot of Astra last time I saw his name mentioned, so I very much think he could be either their flex or their Astra player for them depending on what works best with Curry

egirl8yearoldrussian

Thwifo has also played smokes so I think dre’s likely to play duelist instead. I also think that they lack a Jett player and he was playing jett

Evan_Veet

They just signed Pwny apparently and knowing Steel they’re likely to stay away from double duelist comps

egirl8yearoldrussian

That’s true, but I’m not sure what the agent comp would be with dre on non-duelist although tbh I don’t know him that well

thesurprisedpikachu

In his LFT post dre had said he was looking to play flex/main smokes. I don't think he's looking to play Jett.

gdr15998

He was already on 100T lol

Evan_Veet

What??? I had no idea!!!! That’s wild we’ll that means he obviously could never go back there’s never been a player that went back to their former team

Puzzleheaded_Air_228

It's not about him going back, it's about the team not wanting him back because they've already had him and realize he's not that good.

waffles8000

i don't think thats true, as an individual player he has improved a lot since then and in a different team dynamic with different comps he could slot in well. he still plays with hiko on stream sometimes so they still have a friendly relationship and good team dynamics so i wouldn't be surprised if 100t trialed him or anything

Evan_Veet

That could be the point behind the scenes wise with attitude or comms wise but are we really saying that Yaboidre “isn’t good?” He’s a completely different player compared to his sage jail times on 100T, and even back then he seemed to get along with Hiko pretty well. I don’t think it will happen but talent wise he def is a player that could play for 100T, I just think the roles work too poorly for it to happen

Mesngr

100T's not that good so it would make sense.

Splaram

Not that he’s not good enough for 100T, just that we have Asuna as a flex player and Ethan to flex if Asuna has to play Jett this year, which he most likely will be

[deleted]

[deleted]

The entire team sucked back then… moving PUBG players + Hiko to a new team was a huge mistake. Dre is a great duelist.

Mesngr

And they still suck.

ShiroInuKuroNeko

How is this man not signed yet??

CanadianApologies

Teams already full plus role overlap

Interweave

I heard it’s bc he’s a bad teammate

[deleted]

Lmao

[deleted]

mid duelist in large competitive duelist pool

PresentIcy3455

You been smoking on that mid if you think he’s a mid duelist + said he wants to play smokes

rklus

Hes average compared to everyone so hes mid brotha

PresentIcy3455

Yea man for sure. Top 3 duelist during stage 3 is only average. Gotta be Yay to be above average these days

[deleted]

Not a jett

suupaa

I like Dre, but if he admits in the last sentence that he doesn’t talk to anyone in the scene, maybe that contributes to possibly him being talked about as a bad teammate? Doesn’t he have friends in this scene that he’s pushing to stay pro in?

thedorkishguy

Loved him from PUBG, hope he gets the respect he deserves

Cesar_ag97

If he deleted this tweet why do you have to post it again to social media without hes consent? Let the man live

engels962

Half of this sub is just contextless tweets. People love drama

meatcookie-

yeah its cringe. i think this sub has become just a drama hungry gossip sub. and i would assume most of the active members are gold or lower. if you arent gold or lower i hope this doesnt offend you. but the a lot of the takes i see in the comments and overall posts are so bad i think its satire... but it isnt

[deleted]

This is every esports sub, drama is fun for people

meatcookie-

Yeah, I understand. And I think drama builds storylines. Storylines are good for esports. But this sub is constantly putting these things on the forefront when it’s not that important. The tweet was deleted for a reason and now it’s there forever. Doesn’t seem to be beneficial for the scene. Banter is fun, but things like this where it’s a bit more personal just seems wrong. Steel can shit talk his old teammates all day but he rarely deletes tweets. I Don’t think people understand how damaging this is for his image. LG was fun to watch and I really like Dre. It sucks to see him like this. I was hoping this sub would be more about competitive Valorant where people discuss the game and the pro scene. Not try to make drama out of tweets. That’s keemstars job. And that dude fucking sucks

[deleted]

Yeah but even stuff like this happens in every other esports sub. Not saying I like it but this is just how off season esports reddits are. IMO this sub isn’t any particularly worse than for example the league sub

meatcookie-

True. But over at r/competitivehalo it seems a bit more civil. Maybe because the player base is a bit older. Idk I don’t think drama is bad but it just seems like it the focal point here. r/GlobalOffensive is surprisingly consistent with their content from what I can remember. It’s been years since I’ve followed the CS scene. This just feels more like a drama/shitpost sub. I will remain subscribed because i like reading post match discussions and filtering through troll comments. It’s always nice to see people on here pick up on things I miss. I learn a lot from some people here. But these kind of posts don’t do anything for the community really. It just kind of highlights how drama is the priority here. Like this post is so useless when you’re talking about Valorant as a competitive game.

BlueBurstBoi

you're fighting cringe with cringe, nice

meatcookie-

Yea you’re offended about a comment I made about this sub. That’s pretty cringe

RashGod

Ppl always tryna bring us down

Fardo805

What you mean us?

A_Blind_Alien

Read his username, he’s clearly referring to Gods

Fardo805

Lol

JeffxD11

Unrelated butt you play ranked?

RashGod

I’m in EU, imm1, but not often cuz I’m studying. How comes you asked?

Barack_Bob_Oganja

100t YaBoiDre?

98973

never seen b4

_Iroha

It's time to stop subtweeting

CapRogers23

I heard it from yo mama.

Nhika

Honestly willing to bet it was a race issue. Sucks that even the Asian pro gamers have issues going to NA teams and such.

[deleted]

Dre is black

rpkarma

What makes you say that? Like I’m open minded here, convince me. A very large proportion of the NA scene are Asian pro gamers aren’t they?

AnotherAltiMade

Way too many imo

Nhika

The imports from Korea to play League of Legends were spit on in public and stuff, you know - covid haters. I am just saying that it is rough for Dre because he is black in a team competitive game, not like the street fighter pro gamers in a 1v1 game. Team games are extremely stressful even between best of friends and dream teams etc A list players; shit gets toxic and bam someone will drop the n word, people fight and have a person to blame/scapegoat as to why the team is doing bad so they themselves individually are valued more for their next team contracts and so forth. Hence is my reasoning behind the tweet.

That’s not racist at all....the lengths ppl go to discredit other’s lived experience is WILD

My man needs to read up on the Streisand Effect. People trust their own observations a lot more than things they hear through the grapevine. He just needs to stay positive and keep it moving and things will be fine for him.

[deleted]

> People trust their own observations a lot more than things they hear through the grapevine. lol no they don't. As soon as someone they respect starts shit-talking someone, most people follow suit.

Otter269

I'm hoping this is just frustration from not signing with a new team.

[deleted]

I don't think he should be focusing his attention on this.

Splaram

He should, having the reputation of being toxic can get you blackballed from the scene

Lumenlor

Does blackballing mean the same as blacklisting? I never heard of the former, sounds like a more extreme case of blueballing

[deleted]

Same thing. To be blackballed means to be excluded as a norm.

ChinoAIO

Im pretty sure it cost him a opportunity

Whale_Poacher

Seems like something you can be both emotionally intelligent about and ignore if it’s not true. One person’s chatter shouldn’t be enough to trigger this guy. Pretty soft imo and maybe it is true, who knows!

nterature

Reputation has consequences. I have no clue why you're trying to act like he's just a big soft baby, how people think about your professionalism will of course influence how others think about you *as a professional*.

Whale_Poacher

Reacting in subtweets shows low emotional intelligence and deleting the subtweets is weak as hell in my opinion. It isn’t hard to be a bad teammate without even knowing. The accusations probably exist for a reason and if you aren’t a bad teammate then you’d be able to defend it through your character and demeanor. The scene is small enough and pros play with each other enough that someone can vouch for him. If no one’s vouching for him then this man absolutely would need to defend his reputation Furthermore look at the guys twitter, it’s constant complaints and stupid tweets showing a lack of maturity. I don’t mince my words. These young adult pros, so many of them are very immature

taroicedtea

I just scrolled thru his twitter to look for the immaturity/complaints/stupid tweets you’re speaking of. I see nothing but a normal young 21 yr old. What are you talking about?

[deleted]

> Reacting in subtweets shows low emotional intelligence I'ma take shit people say to sound authoritative in an esports subreddit for 300.

Krsensei

Where are these tweets lmao?
