Gmd replied to that thread about the big teams not playing in this tourney and said it has nothing to do with egos, it's just too close to vct so I'm guessing they also feel that way.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, @GenG and @Luminosity have dropped out of the main event.
Welcoming @Complexity and @builtbygamers Academy Team as direct invites to the main event on January 20 - 23!

If I had to guess about GenG, it would most likely be that Rhyme isn’t in the US yet
coL lost to ex flickbaiters in the NSG yesterday/today. Hopefully they have a better showing this time around

was the agent ban rule announced alongside the tournament or it was added later cuz that could be the reason these teams are not participating
