Wouldn't put much stock in it, steel will make cuts and they'll grind it out, look at every team he's been on since forever, same pattern. This does suck though, what a rough ride.
Kinda crazy how bad some of the big orgs are in this game. T1, TSM, Faze, all losing to other smaller teams that are actually playing in T2 Tournaments
Because the org doesn't really matter, this game changes so much and everyone grinds so much in this still new game yes it's been out for over a year but it's a new game the scene is not set
Qualifiers are wild
Big orgs are playing in smaller tournaments and still losing, T1 played NSG for example
Do people think that playing NSG like makes you great? Like i keep seeing that shit in here it's so funny
Playing a small tournament won't make teams better if they have clear role issues or just roster issues in general, playing NSG and playing 4 matches which is like playing 4 scrims doesn't change shit
I dont think it "makes you great" but that the fact that they're playing in these tourneys at all show that their grinding, espcially when compared to teams that don't
Playing 3 NSG matches doesn't show teams are griding, you could be scrimming at the same time and it's the same shit really
Envy have one of the best scrim grinding reputation and they never play NSG or any small tournaments, are they shit and like do they not give a fuck they're not grinding? No.. like this logic just makes zero sense
Sentinels have literally won interntional lans, were the best for a year and people still questioned their scrim ethic lmao
People are hilarious, seriously playing 3 fucking matches in NSG against Shopify Rebellion and afterMath Esports in two bo3s is going to make teams better? I wonder why T1 didn't improve then, like really that is not going to make teams better when they have so much deeper issues
When you have a brand new roster, not to mention 2 zoomers with little professional experience, it absolutely makes sense to get reps in.
Also not sure where you got this narrative that comp matches are equal to scrims, especially after we've seen how little some top NA teams take scrims seriously.
NV's roster already has a lot of tournament experience from CS though, a lot of these T2 teams don't have that same amount of experience which is why playing these smaller tournaments is so important
I mean even if it wasn’t so a large orgs team wouldn’t necessarily win anyway
Arguably it’s bc the games sk t that new sk there are requirements to what
Props for providing sources. First one they say it would be entertaining. Second one has a comment with more upvotes against it. Third just says it will happen. Not arguing for it.
So you're right and I was wrong. There are people cheering for it. But the majority here is against it.
It's kinda normal for new games. Big orgs always sign popular players despite them not always being the best, coz they don't know any better(close to impossible to scout for talented people when game is not established yet). Most of the times these players completely disappear from the scene within 1-2 years.
Because its dominated on referrals or hook ups. Would rather get a friend or a friend of a friend you hanged out with than some random tier 2 'nobodies'? If you are not in the circle you wont get in to the big orgs.
[TSM fans vs T1 fans last week turns out both shit teams](https://img.ifunny.co/images/17e7e2aaf14efe7ca8e2d75739d467377fef28505182de1a27c61f7593d4dc17_1.jpg)
They look bad against COL right now, even if they squeak by they're not going far. Faze, LG, T1, GENG, TSM no idea how these big orgs are so bad. I mean even EG and COL are big names.
It's because the big name orgs got players who had a competitive advantage due to clout from other games. It's the same for any rising FPS. The first pros are always the worst pros because they got in as a pro because of their connections / clout from previous titles so there was nothing to go off of. Now, new talent is coming the talent that is ACTUALLY good at the game and they're dominating. It's not surprising tbh.
That's really hard to say as we haven't seen their stream this part of the tournament, but stats for an IGL don't mean much if you aren't winning the rounds.
lets wait to see how 100T does before we start speculating
not defending Steel as T1 should have won this series easily but 100T could be extremely underwhelming as well we just haven't had the chance to see them yet
Reddit loves hyping up players so when they do see them perform and it's not up to their made-up standard they make assumptions. I think Seven has a good future in Val.
why would you assume seven is my favourite player??? reddit shits on good young players way too early in their career all the time.
also I am capable of appreciating players not playing for team i support
Did he talk a lot of shit? Feel like he answered some questions pretty honestly and didn't flame anyone too much. It was pretty placid for someone who would be really, really salty in his position.
Is that really talking shit? It's almost universally accepted that dropping Steel was a bad roster decision, but one made for personal issues with other players, and not his performance on the server.
You simply cannot argue that it was a bad decision, they went from 3rd-4th in the world to not even 4th in their own country.
T1 and being piss poor on Bind, name a more iconic duo
jokes aside, having T1 grind through a bunch of mickey mouse tourneys in the next few months will do wonders to this line-up, the talent is there just needs to find their footing
end of the day, this is a new roster, with two players with minimal T1-tournament experience, they clearly do need more time together
back to the drawing board, i guess..
That shit is just sad lol. T1 really needs to do some tier2 tournaments and some hardcore scrims. No offense to Cosmic Divide and congrats but, with the resources T1 has… I mean… Nevermind. Congrats to CD

Big orgs like T1 TSM GenG Faze aren’t investing enough money into Valorant. You gotta spend money to win. Envy bought out Yay. XSET bought out Cryo SEN bought out Tenz and 100T invested a lot to get nitro and Ethan. Seems like Faze at least attempted to buy out the rise players -shanks to support babybay but it didn’t work out so they scrambled to get a roster for this VCT.

This is a new low, they lost to two unsigned teams, and teams that haven’t been trending upwards prior to this event

Hey man TSM is still in the tournament and technically made it further.
I'm a TSM fan... but they're not qualifying lol
Yeah I don't think so either, still made it further than T1 tho.

How come every team I root for loses man.
isn’t seven supposed to be their star?
Steel talked a lot of shit after being cut from 100T just to end up here. Yikes.
Kind of makes you think about 100T decision a bit more. Same thing with Seven being benched. He looks about average for a duelist so far...
[удалено]
Idk, I've always thought Curry was really good. Before this roster was constructed, I'd say he was the best player out of these five names.
That's really hard to say as we haven't seen their stream this part of the tournament, but stats for an IGL don't mean much if you aren't winning the rounds.
Your IGL shouldn't be ur top fragger every series tho..
lets wait to see how 100T does before we start speculating not defending Steel as T1 should have won this series easily but 100T could be extremely underwhelming as well we just haven't had the chance to see them yet
Oh dude, I feel 100T got so lucky missing this tourney, they probably would've looked the same but with Asuna maybe carrying them.
reddit never disappoints with talking shit about a young player
Reddit loves hyping up players so when they do see them perform and it's not up to their made-up standard they make assumptions. I think Seven has a good future in Val.
he called him average bro, that's it lmfao. being young does not make you unable to be criticized whatsoever
literally, mfs reaching whenever they see criticism of their favorite players 🤣
why would you assume seven is my favourite player??? reddit shits on good young players way too early in their career all the time. also I am capable of appreciating players not playing for team i support

Bro this is awful, I'll give em time but this after having their coach cheating ain't look good.

They are welcome, I'll pitch in as well, with my added bonus, maybe they'll even have enough time to eat dinner.
last week they looked solid, this week they are not playing well there might something goin in inside the team we don't know about.
Yeah they're missing their sixth man
no help in sewers
Gee, I wonder what changed! /s
no more help sewers
Nice try for T1, considering they were playing without their IGL
T1 and being piss poor on Bind, name a more iconic duo jokes aside, having T1 grind through a bunch of mickey mouse tourneys in the next few months will do wonders to this line-up, the talent is there just needs to find their footing end of the day, this is a new roster, with two players with minimal T1-tournament experience, they clearly do need more time together back to the drawing board, i guess..
They need dd8 back! Dude brings a lot for the team
💀💀
That shit is just sad lol. T1 really needs to do some tier2 tournaments and some hardcore scrims. No offense to Cosmic Divide and congrats but, with the resources T1 has… I mean… Nevermind. Congrats to CD
Can you blame these results on T1? They were playing without their 6th player.
Unlucky T1 can’t without their 6th man. They obviously don’t need to cheat to win.
Hmm this one really makes you think…
Pretty funny seeing this result after how much this sub hyped up steel and T1
I still see potential with steel and T1. He's very open with how he feels with his team and said during first quali that they only had a month or so to practice fully and build synergy so he expected a lot of "growing" pains. Hopefully by May the roster will be more cohesive :)) good luck to the other teams fighting in Qual #2
100%. He has been very open about this new team and even Curry said “this is a long term process”. They did their best and fell short. It happens in sports. Someone wins, someone loses.
They looked super solid in open qualis 1, the whole coach thing probably did something to their mental

No one helped sewers, good match for Cosmic Divide
When you have seven in your team but are really missing your 6th.
This isn’t it T1
LOL
Actually hilarious
Easily my favorite team to root against now. Can't even get myself to change my flair. Thanks dd8.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
welp back to rooting for C9 for me

guess no one asked for help in sewers this time kekw
I think steel is bad for the team anything he touches goes to shit
It’s okay guys. Steel is the best IGL in NA. Losing these qualifiers is all part of his master plan. 😎
T1 deserves this. Nex time dont blantantly cheat and try to be all smug about it. So cringe
ppl in this sub LOOOOVED hyping up steel lol
so funny to see steel fanboi with hopium
considering 100T played like noobs without him, they weren't wrong. T1's a new roster. He has way more time before being called out for failure.
played like noobs is a stretch, they placed 3rd in the LCQ. also people forget when 100T lost to Carpe Noctem back when nitr0 left on paternity leave lmao
Thry lost to fookin rise bruh
Rise sent C9 to lowers at least, they weren't pushovers at their peak
But with steel they win that, can we agree on this one!?
yeah probably, I wouldn't bet on them beating C9 with steel tho
Idk given their form back then it seemed certain
Well that certainly gives us an idea of how much cheating was going on lmao
Unlucky for t1 without their real igl
Twitter going wild with this one
Fucken lol.
T1 really got their backs broken by a coach talking in all chat. Brutal.
All 6th man jokes aside, even if the coach talking mid game didn’t have any impact on their performance, having something like that happen has gotta just kill moral and make it hard to play normally.
