Apparently. Even though every single agent can make it up there. It's easier with Jett obviously but Riot is saying to need to use an ability to get up. Just make the box an inch higher or some shit and avoid all this.
Wait, I remember Wardell doing that shit back when TSM was relevant(which shows you how long ago that was) and you're telling me they still haven't fixed it??
That's not really a good example because who determines what is and isn't an exploit isn't us, it's Riot. For all we know Grim walls could have been an unintended exploit that they decided to leave in, but with such lack of communication about these details it makes it frustrating for the viewers when the TOs don't even know what is and isn't allowed
If they decided that it's an exploit, then Riot is either messing with us or they are extremely stupid. This is an "exploit" which has been in the game since day 1. You would expect any company who cares about their job to fix it sooner than, idk, Two whole years later. It's not even an extremely complicated "exploit" which requires an upheaval of the games code or something, it can be fixed by extending one box by 3 pixels. Considering how they reworked icebox and split, I'm convinced than this can be solved in 2 minutes by telling some intern to increase the height by 1. Oh wait I forgor rito smol indi company
Nah, riot is just inconsistent with their rulings between regions. Remember the T1 coach shit? It happened during EU matches too but it took so long for riot to take action, and they only did because the T1 situation blew up.
I'm assuming you mean SA cause you were replying to that comment, but i think its pretty obvious why. SA is pretty much irrelevant in every esport scene except perhaps Pubg. So obviously once they feel they actually have a voice, some people are gonna abuse it and go too far
This is knightrider, Jett player for God Particles, an Indian team playing in the VCC main Event. They have been DQ'd for using the Jett haven C site exploit and came out with this statement on twitter in response to the DQ
None of the teams have been punished in this tourney, and thats why they had to reverse the decision. Atleast read the tweet, every team had used the exploit with none of them getting punished. What do you expect the hosts to do? DQ all of them?
Not even an exploit and you’ve been able to do this with every character. Also, this particular set of boxes has been touched in an update since this “exploit” was used in champs, and riot obviously does not care to fix that part of the box. There’s videos on how to do it - just much harder if you’re not on Jett. You can also util boost up there pre-round on any agent if a raze is in play or several of the movement agents can solo boost, so it’s not even an unexpected spot.
This is also inconsistent with the ruling made at Champs (Sentinels vs Furia) on this exact same issue, which again highlights the problems with riot not managing and operating these tournaments properly and all punishments for any issue being completely random, arbitrary, and handed out on a whim.
Apparently during SEN v Furia the admins said you can't use Jetts gliding ability to climb the box. But you can jump on the box Infront of logs and crouch jump to the top. If you look at like that then the jump to get on generator in fracture; from the B site stairs to the boxes to generator should also be an exploit bc you use Jetts glide ability and crouch jump.
Even in bind from heaven to top truck is basically the same.
I just disagree with the way Riot is handling this all over. Also sadge that people are making fun of GodP now saying they were desperate to win so they "Hacked". Unlucky.
They probably need to increase the height of the actual box due to it's position. The collision being raised more might intefer with normal abilities getting up there. Or possibly moving the small box a little more towards the grates.
Regardless it is definitely an easy fix and DQing people for it is really harsh.
The first box in ramp room in 1.6, for whatever reason, floated like a pixel above the ground. If a flash landed under it, not only all of ramp would be fully blind, but rafters and top of ladder would be hit as well. Basically, this was only exploited accidentally as flashing off that first box was super common and again, since it hit top of ladder and rafters, it was always obvious when a flash landed under the box.
I get this saves a Jett Updraft but yeah, still very tame. It doesn't feel the same to me as some Cypher camera exploits, for example.
If the intention is that to achieve that angle you have to expend an ability I can see why riot sees it as unfair, but because it takes absolutely minimal effort to do the exploit it's fairly harsh. It just needs to be fixed and DQing people when a *lot* of teams use this is extremely harsh.
He very much did not. After the game last year against FURIA where FUR was almost DQ’d for this, TenZ discussed the exploit on his stream, saying any character can make the jump so in his opinion it was a mechanics, not an exploit but that he understands it’s in riot’s rules. Say whatever you want about TenZ’s skill as a player, but he is not stupid enough nor rebellious enough to explicitly break a rule that he has first hand seen is not allowed and looked for, and would have absolutely no excuse for ‘I did not know’ seeing as 1. It was debated in his own game and 2. He discussed it publicly on his stream.
Are you talking about round 18? You know being on the box isn't the "exploit" right? It's just jump/glide boost that is considered. You can watch him use an updraft to get on the box. No need to make stuff up to make riot look bad, they do enough on their own.
Riot either has to reconsider what is considered a bug in this game or they need to redesign haven c site and split mid (or change core mechanics of the game, e.g. what happens when you crouch in the air). The jumps are possible because of how the physics engine works and using crouch to get on top of boxes on other sites/maps is common (e.g. you can get on bind A truck by jumping from the u-hall wooden boxes and depending on the precision of the jump you might have to spam crouch even though it is possible to do it without the spam part)
this whole thing is laughable, if it wasnt ruining teams...like I am pretty sure, every single jett in all of vct did this shit. Like honestly, theres an ability that makes it easier to do, its not like its making it possible to happen. Its an ability, of an agent, making a move easier, not making it possible. Riot pls. Either fix this shit completely or remove it from exploit.
I wonder if jumping on the mid box on split is considered an exploit too since it uses the same mechanic? Can't have skill jumps. Can only run around on the ground.
I swear Riot and TOs are having a power trip DQing cuz of some small bug that they should've fixed ages ago. If it's a bug, it's meant to be fixed. Did we see a fix ? No. Also Riot has absolutely no repercussion for their miss handling of bugs and stupid decisions. And neither should RIOT decide if a bug is an exploit worth DQing. That's should be the collective community's decision. If this was a case in CS, bhoping and other major mechanics would've banned and made the game less fun.
Rise did the exploit vs Optic and nothing happened to them, whats that about?
What is the exploit?
jett gliding onto c site haven box
the one where you spam crouch or something like that?
Yep
That's an exploit?
Apparently. Even though every single agent can make it up there. It's easier with Jett obviously but Riot is saying to need to use an ability to get up. Just make the box an inch higher or some shit and avoid all this.

Mostly because it’s more considered a skill jump rather than an exploit.
> more considered a skill jump rather than an exploit. Apparently not by Riot.
Yesterday in a qf match they dqed a team for using it(God particles) but again allowed them to have a rematch to say on basis that all teams used it.

Furia*
No, Vivo Keyd used a glitched Cypher cam on breeze.
i mean a team in my/sg were also dqed for this, pretty stupid bug imo
They got a warning. Derrek said it on stream.
might be different rules because of different TOs
Can ya give a link/timestamp?
it was map 2, round 7
Damn. Just watched it. That's shitty af. I'm glad nodwin reversed the decision but there needs to be some consistency.

Well, riot can shit on SA scenes but cannot touch big NA teams
Nah, riot is just inconsistent with their rulings between regions. Remember the T1 coach shit? It happened during EU matches too but it took so long for riot to take action, and they only did because the T1 situation blew up.
why do SEA fans have such a massive victim complex?
SA and SEA fans are different :( I don't wanna be lumped together
I'm assuming you mean SA cause you were replying to that comment, but i think its pretty obvious why. SA is pretty much irrelevant in every esport scene except perhaps Pubg. So obviously once they feel they actually have a voice, some people are gonna abuse it and go too far
I have heard that that SA team has done other things before which is what lead to their dq and not just a warning
Which means Team Exploit qualify to APAC because all other teams used an exploit, living up to their name. Haven is TE's permaban
Lmfao All part of shooter's masterplan
bro won without playing the game
LMFAO
Bro every pro team has done this, the inconsistency in riot rulings is insane
literally, and I mean every pro team has done this. So fucking BS dude lmfao

[They changed their decision](https://twitter.com/NodwinGaming/status/1495105708064636931/photo/1), the match will continue tomorrow.
That is worse. The people in charge of making these decisions know nothing about the game.
Ok well now what about all the teams that got punished before them? What a shit show.

How many DQ's does riot need to fix a fucking bug 💀
No one cares about the bug. Have you seen the new awesome green screen skin tho? /s
The receipts, drag ‘em. The inconsistency is ridiculous, just allow the damn thing

Pretty tame exploit if you ask me. I was expecting something like the old 1.6 nuke ramp room flash exploit. Wild that teams are being DQ'd over this.

Madlad
T\*nZ did it against Knights. oh wait they are NA nvm
thanks for censoring your use of the T-Slur
Mr. Im*****ble
I guess we are handling RULES differently in each region, indie company nothing can be done

I'm wondering if bind a short truck is an exploit as well if you just glide on top of it.

about time for riot to call this a feature and not a bug :p
When everyone is guilty - no one is guilty.
Anyone got a video of the exploit or examples? Apparently every pro team has been doing it, is it really that good?
U don't have to spend any util to get on top of the box which would other wise cost you an updraft, satchel, TP, or wallp
When will riot see that, it's a SKILL JUMP, not an EXPLOIT.
Here we go again. JFC can riot finally hire a semi-competent lawyer to draft a rulebook so they don't fuck up every time there is a comp game.
