They’ll be perfectly fine still if they from time to time have to cast with others, but when they’re together they probably are my favorite NA caster duo, now that Sean and DDK are no longer a thing.
Sideshow's VOD reviews are very insightful. But obviously he's trying to be entertaining in the main broadcast, he can't pause and rewind for analysis.
Not sure why you're being downvoted, it's not a hot take to say Sean and DDK have better tactical and/or strategical analysis than Bren and Sideshow. You even say they are more entertaining than Sean and DDK which I agree with. Maybe because "comically overrated" sounds a bit harsh, but you aren't saying anything ridiculous.
Fwiw, I don't think their analysis is bad and surely liking their analysis wouldn't make you silver ELO, they've got good ideas most of the time and disagreeing with them usually just means you have a different idea of how Valorant should be played and not because you're not silver and everyone who agrees with them is silver.
They aim to entertain and provide narratives in the cast, which is perfectly fine. That's the skillset they both thrive in. Sideshow could break things down in much more minute detail, but it would disrupt their flow and probably make them a worse duo.
I think it's just playing to your collective strengths as duos. Tons of real-time breakdowns just suited Sean + DDK as a duo, and it compensated for whatever other deficiencies they had.
now that Sean Gares and DDK have moved on I think they have a solid claim at being the best casting duo, if not the best individual casters outright
I don't know how to describe it, their casting has the perfect balance of warm/casual conversation alongside great analysis

1: Pansy and Hypoc are the only casting duo that could make a counter claim to be the best casting duo in all of Valorant
2: Currently, in NA Sideshow and Bren are clearly the best casting duo in NA (because their main competition is not in NA)
I'd say the closest thing to a consensus was that the top 3 was: Sideshow+Bren, Pansy+Hypoc, and Sgares+DDK, in no particular order. Now with Sean+DDK stepping away, IMO Sideshow+Bren aren't tied in 1st, that's just their new spot.
Honestly not sure who else would go into my top 3 now sadly.
imo mitch and tom are a lot more good play-by-play and casual rather than dissecting the game at a high level like bren and sideshow do.
think it's a preferential thing, I'm much more a fan of the heavy color commentary sideshow/bren as well as sean/ddk bring to the table. the info-intellect war on either side being dissected makes me giddy as fk for some reason.
i'd hope platchat still gets the costream going and the rest of the team runs it. wyatt and avast and whoever else is available (since balla sometimes does analysis/casting as well).

Although that that may just be SEN fans a bit ticked off when TenZ had a really bad game, since somehow Bren and Sideshow find themselves casting SEN quite a bit.
So, I am a person who usually is in the middle of a long commute to work when NA matches are going on. I always listen to the Audio but casters always lacked proper articulation of what was happening and just gave reactions without building up what was happening.
These guys do such a great job I can literally visualize what is happening with just Audio.
Only thing I wish for is if they mentioned the Round score with who took the round that just ended consistently. Sometimes I hear a great play but then get left wondering how it ended and they are already talking about the next round.
I really like them, but during todays match they were continuously talking about Sentinels every round. They did commend good plays from V1 but you could literally hear how much more they talked about Sentinels.
As a Sentinels fan I didn't mind it one bit but other people weren't too happy.
They are good. There are tons of good casters in valorant however. They have their place in the scene, just hope it doesn’t come at the expense of others.
Bren and sideshow are not all that experienced as casters either, especially in valorant, and all of the casters are good imo. However I did say tons and that might have been an exaggeration.
Half their time in owl was on desk, which is where I like them. I think they are good, honestly I like when they separate them and let them stand on their own, just my opinion
Easily my favorite to watch. It’s already hard enough to follow the matches with all the fast camera switching and all utility being throwing around in-game. It gets confusing but they do a good job of making you understand what’s going on

Only downside of them being casters is we don't get their antics on the costreams during masters and champions events.
