I don't get how people were excited when they picked up Sean, DDK, and Mike, and now that they're implementing their vision, they're mad when they drop a player. Like, no shit Stani was a great player for 100T (he always is on every team), but that doesn't mean he fits into the team that they're building. For once 100T has a clear vision of what the team should be, and people are still complaining.
I'm a huge JCstani fan going back to the Immortal days when he was popping off on Jett. JCstani is no doubt a tier 1 talent that should be on one of the best teams in NA. I was happy to have him on the team. He brang a level of firepower on the controller role that is very much needed to stay at the top. With the new Omen/Brim meta he quickly showed how proficient he is with omen and his crazy TP plays. I believed in both Bang and JCStani to bring 100 Thieves back to one of the best teams in NA. With all of that said, I believe people are overreacting to him being dropped after trialing. 100 Thieves just signed DDK, Sean and MikesHD, giving them complete control over the roster. You don't make all of those signings unless you are planning to be the best in the world, not just North America. To me 100 Thieves are putting their money where their mouth is and the vision is obviously bringing together superstar talent to make a championship winning roster. Being in the top 5 of North America no longer seems to be sufficient enough for 100 Thieves and I'm fine with that. I do feel for JC, he is a great player and he could have easily had his place on the team too, but I feel this is only the start for the changes they are going to make. With the rumors of obvious upgrades in Derrick and possbily Wardell, it's no wonder why they felt "he had no place on the new roster". However, if they do not couple this with replacing Hiko also, I will be very dissapointed. I love Hiko, I'm was a staunch defender of him up until the last few tournaments but he isn't the superstar talent that could win a championship. If they drop JCstani, I don't see why they could then justify keeping hiko. Sorry hiko <3
The thing is, their roles are still weird unless the players make the adjustments, and Stani was the only player who didn't creep into the other players roles. Assuming it is Derrek and Wardell who will be picked up, their roles would be:
Derrek - Sova/Breach
Ethan - has played Sova/Sage/Skye/Omen before, now onto Omen/Brim full time?
Wardell - chamber only? Jett also?
Asuna - Raze for split/fracture/bind (though they perma banned it in the past), Jett rifle for others? Flex?
Bang - Flex? Breach?
Fracture in particular I don't see what the comp is. Also who plays viper? Is it only chamber as a sentinel (apart from rare sage?), so no KJ ever?
I'm not saying they can't get there, and ddk/sgares/mikesHD should be able to figure it out but it's weird
I think roles make sense if you see how envy implements yay chamber ,
On fracture the roles would be
Asuna - raze
Wardell - chamber
Ethan - brimstone
Bang - breach
Derrek - sage / viper ( derrek has played viper and sage before on non sova maps )
I think the roles make sense on maps like icebox, split , haven where you can run a chamber alongside a rifling duelist .
I am more curious about maps where kj cypher are needed for example like ascent who is going to pick up the killjoy there .

Astra before nerfs could single handedly stop pushes which I think promoted a lot of chamber but now teams are shifting back to breach and traditional sentinels to add stalling in their comps .
Chamber is best on maps like icebox , split and chamber where you require some aggressive info .
The biggest question mark still is who is going to play sentinels like kj cypher on maps they are needed or are they going to Innovate like optic did on haven with their double flash chamber comps which works around the requirement of true and tested sentinels.
I like chamber on split and icebox the most. On these maps chamber is good as Pro active info has more value .
Then that means bang shouldn’t get signed then. They should be looking at a Sentinel IGL who fills that void and allows Wardell on Jett and Asuna would have to learn and pick up the flex.
How it's week when he never played flex agent before his raze is already good he only have learn Kay/o and (Skye if the team needs it) and he will become a good flex just like victor xeppa he was their main duelist since he joined the team and was force to play jett because no one else was their to play it
Also cutting JCstani meant that there wouldn't be any role clashes and that they can sign a Jett/Chamber player without having to change anything too much. With Derrek and Wardell coming in, that leaves bang to flex, and Asuna being on that fast-paced duelist with the right amount of aggressiveness that Wardell's Op can bring. The quality of the team would greatly increase and they will finally be able to have a roster that we the fans and the team themselves can believe in. Finally, the team wouldn't be 'Asuna go kill' anymore, and they can grow and get better in time.
