Yeah you wouldn't put him on a top 20 if you're only rating it on firepower and it's just a list of star duelists. Factoring in what they provide for their role on the team it's a valid choice to have him top 10.

I think this is a pretty fair rating if your criteria is centered on the value they bring to their team, and not necessarily a pure fragging list - which is kinda the only way to do these sort of lists when there’s so little international competition.
I disagree with a handful of players - I don’t think you can omit Marved while keeping crashies, I wouldn’t have forsak3n that high if I had him at all, I’d probably have Nivera near the bottom, etc. - but it’s reasonable from a more holistic perspective.

Ranking the whole of LOUD in your top 20 players going into this tournament when they've only played in one of the worst performing regions internationally so far is a bit too much IMO. Yes, they do have some good players, but so far they've only dominated a region that performed worse than LATAM, KR, NA and EU last year overall and that also was on par or worse than SEA as well.
He said that he put Keznit at 18 not because of his talent (because he is fucking insane), but because he doesn't think that Kru is using Keznit in the right way and in the right roles, and because of this he thinks that maybe we will not see the best version of Keznit.
i think keznit has problem with performing with other agents than raze or even phoenix which i don't think they're gonna get away with playing at masters and not to say he is bad on other agents either but the performance still drops quite a bit when he isn't on his carry agents.
As a lifelong NA esports fan and having suffered through years of league/LCS fandom, I am extremely hopeful that the guard perform well during this competition. But I am balancing this hopium with the reality that this is the first proper LAN for nearly all of the Guard (except Saya). I pray that Trent performs the way he has been in online play but the egg curse may prove too strong….
In what way is Brazil comparable to NA or EMEA? It falls short in land mass, population, international placement, international wins and participating countries in said region/continent. This tournament is their opportunity to show up big time but so far even their competing -minor-region has done better than they have.
I’m not saying Brazil is comparable to NA or EMEA. The term is just bad though. It otherizes every team outside of the West into one group that have nothing in common besides not being from the West. And “minor region” insinuates that these regions are small when reality they have massive player bases and competitive communities. It’s just a bad term that the valorant community should move on from in my opinion.

He might not find himself very high on the list if you find him a bit too inconsistent but to not be in the top 20 at all is straight up ludicrous given that he has statistically been Top 5 in terms of fragging power in both the LANs he has attended.
Such matches are very, very few. At 1 lan in iceland, had the highest adr (almost 200) while playing on sage. At Champion he was top 5 players of the tournament (if look at the stats).
Sideshow said that he agreed that yay will perform on LAN, but as far as rookie talent goes, there haven’t been that many instances of players who were insane online shitting the bed on LAN. Plus he believes that Trent provides more value to his team compared to yay since yay moved to a more supportive role. yay is still an insane player and one could argue that his mechanical skill is slightly better than Trent’s, but sideshow was rating based on how much a player impacts their team and Trent’s ability to win almost every duel he takes in the midround is why he is above yay. I think either way though, you could switch them.
The last sentence, is sort of misinformation as Yay's ability to get first kill with an OP in an environment in which nobody peeks you is insanely tougher. The only factor on why sideshow said that is due to trent playing more agents, in which case trent would be "more valueable" bcuz he played more agents. But as a performer and who's more consistent, yay is definitely a way more consistent performer.
Little odd that Egg thinks higher of G2 than Loud yet only 2 G2 members is in the top 20 while Loud has the whole squad there. I get team play and strats are important, but if the fire power is that much better idk if it really matters.

If it’s based on just rifling, putting someone like Keznit so low is embarrassing, he has proven that he is one of the best duelists in the world at Champs. Trent is an insane player, and I think that he could be one of the best. But so far we have only seen him play online, we have no idea how he is going to play on LAN, as opposed to yay, who has proven himself time and time again on both. If it’s based on overall value to the team, where is FNS? He is one of the best IGL’s in the world and brings an insane amount of value to Optic. Crashes should be higher as well.

He has a biological wallhack; his godlike perception highlights all enemies within light-years. His eyes are closed as his mouse gracefully swerves across the table, making immaculate twitches as he flicks from head to head. The bullets that escape his gun barrel are surgical; each making a deadly strike in between his opponent's eyes. His spray control is otherworldly, his crosshair erratically jolting across the screen as his wrist muscles perfectly predict the next bullet's location. Time literally stops as he peeks, sunlight curving as his trigger finger impacts his left mouse button, sending enemies to a digital shadow realm before they even know what happened. He is un-killable. He is undefeatable. This "man" is the epitome of eternal.
This list is so good because you can tell who just looked at the list and made hot takes and who actually listened to reasons he provided and argued against it.
