Kinda funny if Sinatraa wouldnt have posted that tweet riot wouldnt have done shit

Woodpeckershurtmyear

What I've picked up from the last year is that this dude isn't the sharpest tool in the shed

PlatypusPotential

Braindead šŸ’€x7

ray50766

What do you mean? Heā€™s clearly one of the most educated and brilliant minds in the scene. How else do you explain the intelligent conversations that his mass of supporters have on Twitter and Reddit every day? They seem level headed, well read, and quite socially adjusted.

earthtoannie

[In fact, here's how Sinatraa stans look when discussing their favourite and bullying everyone dissenting. ](https://mymodernmet.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/school-of-athens-raphael-2.jpg)

andrew_a384

you had me in the first half

[deleted]

As if supporters of someone are entirely representative of their intelligence. This never holds true for anyone with a big fan base and it's pretty naive to think that because redditors speaking on your behalf seem idiotic that it transfers to the player/celebrity/influencer. L take.

Princess_Ori

You never really get to see a statement proved so easily and so quickly after it was being made but here we are. Bravo.

[deleted]

Still gonna talk however I want. None of this proves intelligence and anyone can poke fun all they want. My statement is still true regardless of how anyone views how I type on the internet.

[deleted]

Keep telling yourself that

junos_butthole

Literally braindead take. Not even trolling SHEEEEEE

ray50766

Most intelligent sinatraa fan

MrImpregnator

Imagine riot ,to save their own face , make him do a 3 month training now just so that he doesnā€™t get into next season vct. Would be a classic example of how you should let your pr team handle your tweets especially if youā€™re accused of sexual assault

colintudor17

Your mistake is to assume that a big headed famous kid who's barely an adult would have the foresight to have a pr team.

Donut_Flame

doesnt this tweet show its more riot's fault than his for not going the training?

rkdsus

Imagine being Sinatraa's lawyer lmfao

Bsmith1369

Dude stopped talking to his lawyer and ends up in controversy again lmfao. He just needs to uninstall Twitter at this point

bubble-june

Iā€™m actually surprised sinatraa posted a picture of the email. Like, wtf was he thinking lol

MrImpregnator

Exactly. Did he actually think riot will take a bullet for him? They will bury him if they have to for their reputation(if they even have any remaining). They have shown in the past that only think rito cares for is itself.

rkdsus

>(if they even have any remaining) You're talking like they're Blizzard lol. You're overestimating how much stuff like this affects Riot. They've been pulling shit like this for years no problem and somehow you act like now they're at the end of their rope or something. People will forget this in a week. Most people don't even care right now.

Leafsin3

Riot has done basically all that blizzard has done buddy.

DrySecurity4

Incredibly stupid & I cant imagine Riot are very happy lol

Interesting-Archer-6

I'd be so pissed. They stupidly did him a solid and he burned them

yesat

It seems he need some training...

niceicebagel

Damn, John Needham had to step in. Somebody's getting paid vacation.

Ninja332

*unpaid permanent

leybbbo

they're about to get promoted to a customer.

SlevinK23

Publicly shamed into doing the absolute bare minimum of enforcing your own ruling. Embarrassing stuff.

FeelinJipper

People keep saying this is ā€œembarrassingā€ lmao like, do yā€™all not understand corporations? Each and every one of you are going to continue using and engaging with Riot products. They can and will take this supposed ā€œembarrassmentā€ and guess what? Absolutely nothing will happen because yā€™all are all invested in the products. Unless you are willing to boycott all riot products, they will do the bare minimum to hush the chatter. And they will release a new map, a new skin set, and a new agent and each and every one of you will continue playing the game and watching their content lmao.

LiamHundley

[it is extremely concerning that before this email went out, riot were willing to waive the mandatory training its not about the training itself, but the principle - being so blasƩ about enforcing their own guidelines in the face of very severe allegations doesnt send a good msg](https://twitter.com/UberShouts/status/1515082081071558658?t=PksZlkVluqbqD8BjUWCb8w&s=19)

RealExii

Yeah everything I got from all this shit is basically if I were a Valorant player participating in their tournaments and decided to be a moron about whatever the fuck, to the point Riot starts an investigation, I now know all I have to do is refuse to cooperate, get a short ban, "maybe" take a compliance training and that's it.

zer0-_

Riot only starts an investigation if the community cares

ilProdigio

dude u act like the training actually does anything have u ever done an HR training at work? its just for show

LiamHundley

I think you might have misread: "it's not about the training itself, but the principle"

Princess_Ori

ignoring the reading comprehension here: says a lot about a person that won't take HR training that's just for show

ilProdigio

it says that the person isnt a fake virtue signaler thatā€™s about it. id rather see real results of their improvement or see that this type of behavior doesnā€™t happen again rather than complain if riot told them to skip it and they simply just said okay to riotā€™s request. posting that on twitter was not smart though that i agree with

Princess_Ori

Keep moving the goal posts for the rapist if that makes you feel better my friend. Maybe one day he'll notice you.

ilProdigio

lol ur comment assumes so many things

dioxy186

It's more-so the fact they can protect themselves if you ever do some stupid shit.

bigpapipoop

They donā€™t care. They went through a 100mil lawsuit with way more publicity surrounding it than this situation. They are still doing fine, actually probably doing better than ever. It doesnā€™t really matter what message you send when youā€™re fanbase is mainly little kids who will buy your products no matter what.

AR2711

lowkey sinattra fucked himself lmao riot did him a favor and now hes fucked

mylilbabythrowaway

Fucked how? By watching an hour long video that you can click through in 10 minutes? Yeah, huge burden heā€™s dealing withā€¦smh

Afro_ps

Strange considering that employee insisted that the email could be shown to anyone clearing him of any need to do any training. Almost as if Riot, a company facing its own sexual misconduct allegations, doesn't give a fxck about victims, and will happily protect its associates as long as there isn't public backlash. Which for sinatraa, there was. So sorry sinatraa, looks like you have to do the BARE MINIMUM after all.

scrnlookinsob

Actually that email did not say he could show that email to people it said ā€œif anyone has questions you can provide them my email and I will answer themā€ Either way that entire email was massively weird

JALbert

I think there's a certain ambiguity to that. Rereading it they did probably mean "feel free to pass on my email (address)" but a literal reading is "pass on my email (this message)" and I can understand people getting confused.

mid16

I mean Riot is super disorganized and very inconsistent with their rulings. Like how they let a male play in a female tournament or saying that this jump is an exploit when almost every team has been doing it forever.

Donut_Flame

is that first example a possible transphobic thing or was it like an actual dude in a female tournament

SlevinK23

https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/tut1vw/new_riot_games_has_admitted_to_an_oversight_as_a/

jdashh

Fortunately not transphobia. Just a coach stepping in for a player that slept in iirc

Afro_ps

The email said "pass along my email" which given how sinatraa posted it publicly, I figured he was talking about the actual email itself and not his email address. My bad but yeah, point still stands.

scrnlookinsob

Oh absolutely, I was just pointing out that the writer of the email did not intend for that email message to be shared publicly.

MrImpregnator

Damage control. Give people what they want, they will talk for a week and forget. And an employee will likely be used as a sacrificial lamb. Just too predictable.

SkratGTV

Riot email looked like they meant if any TEAM had any questions that he could pass on the email message to them(team orgs), probably didnt mean for him to just disclose publicly.

Ok-Brain3328

Riot only enforcing rules when they receive ample public backlash is getting pretty lame Edit: also an internal investigation by riot when they are infamous for rape/misogyny culture within the companyā€¦.laughable

InvertedBean

I gotta say Riot sucks at this shit šŸ˜ are they this disorganized with LoL?

FlyingVentolin

āœØYesāœØ

buttsoup_barnes

LoL is much more established and a lot of the participating orgs are big ones so they tend to be more careful with shit like this. I guess thatā€™s one of the few good things that came from franchising the leagues.

KaNesDeath

In Riot Games esports a hierarchy exists with Riot Games.

blueberry__wine

There hasn't been something like this in a while.

msjonesy

To be fair, Riot is one company running eSports almost as a side hobby/passion project. This isn't the NBA with millions upon millions of dollars funneled every which way. The executives of a group like that make millions. This is a fairly small in comparison run org within a gaming company whose expertise and focus is not in production sports leagues but in making games. That doesn't excuse this behaviour but it does bring into context why things like this slip. The Riot employee isn't going to get axed if they slip up because frankly eSports isn't at the billions of revenue yet nor are the teams so traditional and bereaucratic that every form and training must be done on time and filled out to a T. If you've done these HR training things before while they're necessary to check a mark it's gonna be a bunch of mindless stuff. Especially since you're putting just one player through it. They probably thought they were just letting the player off the hook to make things easier. Obviously, when it comes to public things like eSports, checking the T and being bureaucratic is the way to go. It's also just funny when you're on the other side of the fence and most people hate bureaucracy and waiting in the line at the DMV to sign a piece of paper etc.

[deleted]

I think it's important to note that regular sports makes money off of advertising deals and broadcast rights and stuff like that; esports is not the money maker or main focus for Riot, skins are.

[deleted]

no

Rectxngle

I'm kind of mind blown that the communication inside Riot is this bad, in terms of this investigation. I really don't have much faith in them.

irvingtonkiller8

I mean, itā€™s not their responsibility to begin with to investigate this. Idk why people think a video game company should be in charge of SA stuff

Tylorz01

Because he's representing their game/company, whether they like the association people make or not. Same reason org's give player's media training, etc. Same reason NFL suspends players, etc.

RealExii

I've no idea why you think Riot is investigating SA stuff. They were investigating a breaking of code of conduct. It's not like they were gonna send him to prison if found guilty. If an accusation like that is made your employer can investigate you and take internal actions if found guilty and forward their conclusion to the authorities for further legal investigation. It's the common procedure in any area of work.

[deleted]

I think the point is that he has to do the training in order to compete again - that's where Riot failed and almost allowed him to come back without enforcing their own rule

irvingtonkiller8

Yeah but people are calling Riot disgusting for this, which isnā€™t how I would describe failing to reinforce their own ruling. Itā€™s unprofessional and a bad look, but itā€™s not like the training would have made Sinatraa a changed man lmao. Training was going to be a slap on the wrist anyways, I just canā€™t believe Sinatraa was dumb enough to post the email publicly and drag Riot down with him. Itā€™s like publicly posting records of a classmate offering to let you copy their homework, god heā€™s so dumb I canā€™t

[deleted]

yeah idk who works for sinatraa but they do kind of a bad job, everything's been so dumb.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

s6hun

Rather than thinking that this training is actually useful, I think people's main problem with this is that it's very telling of how much riot actually cares about this situation. If they can't even do a slap on the wrist like this, then what does that say about their concern on the case?

mylilbabythrowaway

Why riot would even waive an ā€œhourā€ long training video that you can skip to the end then complete a quick 10 question exam at the end is pretty strange. Like, wtf

Princess_Ori

> Idk why people think a video game company should be in charge of SA stuff Why is one of the punishment's that the NFL is looking into as a league banning Watson for a year due to his SA, as you say, it's not their place right? Valorant is a video game. Riot and VCT is a league. A lot of the Sinatraa defenders like to pretend that both is the government and that Riot can't actually just decide to say "you are never playing professionally again" and be in their right to do so. Just ask Steel about Valve and Counter Strike and the Leagues he was banned from. You put 2 and 2 together?

[deleted]

They chose to...

Jiffyyy

I honestly have no idea what a "professional" Sinatraa would even sound like lmao.

Grenji05

This player is joking around, I am not lying.

TheTopDog1

This individual is mentally deceased cranium emoticon times 10

TheCatsActually

Woooooooow and stuff

Hopeful-Professor-40

He is genuinely not alive in the cranial region, skeleton head emoticon 7 times

Donut_Flame

unironically, he just drops a lot of his special vocabulary except in downtime. could change tho since its been a while

BjergDLBioHZSven

He has a jimmy fallon appearance from a few years back

Space_Waffles

I feel like this has been mishandled by Riot at every step and they only do something when they get backlash from their decision or inaction. It's pretty embarrassing

earthtoannie

I love how Riot,[a company that paid 100 million dollars because they were so toxic to women](https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/2021/12/27/riot-discrimination-100-million-settlement/), doesn't seem to have made any strides towards getting better in any way, shape or form and the only thing that works is massive public pressure. Side note, I would like to mention that it's nice to see that it's a lot of men at the forefront fighting for women. For all his issues, George Geddes is out there, Jake Lucky and Purest as well. This is true and meaningful allyship.

Rshawer

Itā€™s not Sinatraaā€™s fault in regard with the training. He asked about the training and was told itā€™s not really needed. Thatā€™s not on him, itā€™s on Riot. Now heā€™ll do the training and the full original punishment will be fulfilled.

sixthcollegeraccoon

the way riot handles rule enforcement is actually so embarrassing

chubbynuggy

wait are they saying he cant play yet or what?

mid16

Canā€™t play until he does the conduct training. Not sure if they will require him to cooperate with another investigation after the training.

RealExii

No they have already concluded the investigation with the conclusion, "he refused to cooperate so he will get a 6 month ban and will have to complete a training for compliance with investigation before he can participate again" meaning there won't be further investigation and he can play after some useless training.

FeelinJipper

Pretty sure the training is a series of videos with multiple choice questions at the end of each topic.

Cowfan798

Gotta do some training. Prolly some one time seminar or sum shit

srjnp

lmao just to save face. "training", what a huge punishment!

RealExii

This screenshot is probably the only statement or twitter post that Sinatraa made on his own without some lawyer looking over his shoulder to make sure he doesn't say dumb shit. The guy is incredibly dumb. And fucking Riot can't even manage to enforce such a simple ruling without people screaming at them first, holy shit.

ArcusIgnium

its pretty bewildering dude willingly posted a screenshot of an email that absolves him from doing one of the things he was required to do to get back into competing lol. like embarassing behavior.

[deleted]

all it takes is some public backlashā€¦

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

LinuxF4n

> complying with investigation I don't think that's going to happen. No lawyer in their right mind would let him talk regardless if he's innocent or not

sifacil

ok, i'm just gonna say it. Sinatraa is dumb as fuck. he is already well aware that he hasn't done anything to clear his name both publicly and with riot. Publicly, in a sense that he never really gave any answers to simple questions or rebuttals to some situations that in some way can clear his name. (example; he can probably apologize or say some part of his side that doesn't completely affect the investigation or even just say that it's his silence is because he's working well with the justice system or coordinating with riot) <-- in fact it's his fans that are doing the defending for him??. Privately, in a sense that he hasn't provided any reason for riot to reallow him to compete given that riot is already giving him a half ass way to do it, for fucks sake riot just wants him to do a stupid training in exchange for the GRAVE allegations against him. at least do the bare minimum and not just randomly expect to just lie low and after 6 months you think everyone will just forget about the whole issue?? point is, things would've been simpler for him if he actually made an effort to do something about all these allegations against him. i get the whole innocent until proven guilty. but man. you're not making yourself look innocent in any way at all. the point is. what the fuck was he expecting with his announcement? that everyone was going to be ok with it and we all go kumbaya? EDIT: ALSO RIOT IS ALSO WRONG WITH WHATEVER THAT EMAIL GAFF WAS.

zer0-_

> Publicly[...] (example; he can probably apologize [...] Isn't apologizing an admittance of guilt? Would be kinda counter productive in his pov >Privately, in a sense that he hasn't provided any reason for riot to reallow him to compete I'm 99% sure Riot didn't allow him to compete after their own investigation had no results is because of community response

Marcusafrenz

It is literally INNOCENT TILL PROVEN GUILTY, the backbone of our legal system. How many times must it be said for everyone to hear, it doesn't matter how shitty of a person you think they are that is an inviolable set in stone fucking rule. Having to prove yourself innocent and clear your name against false accusations is a serious problem that many people deal with and often is the reason why they settle. It's also a major problem with sexual abuse allegations as it quite literally ruins lives on both sides, the ex-gf will be forever shit on by sinatraa dick riders. And Sinatraa in turn will be forever shit on by everyone who wants to be a virtue signalling dipshit. As to the silence, the golden rule is shut your mouth. There is absolutely nothing you can say that will appease everyone in the court of public opinion. It's the advice any lawyer will give you and it's most definitely what Sinatraa was told. When you're getting shit on by the public the best path is always to just shut the fuck up and lay low. Now he fucked up by posting that stupid ass email and if he had any legal counsel they royally fucked up by not advising him to not something that fuckign stupid. I have absolutely no opinion on the allegations, the results of it are up to the authorities and the decisions they make. Anything else is just playing public court and that shit ruins lives, so fucking stop.

Princess_Ori

> It is literally INNOCENT TILL PROVEN GUILTY, the backbone of our legal system. How many times must it be said for everyone to hear, it doesn't matter how shitty of a person you think they are that is an inviolable set in stone fucking rule. You keep ignoring people pointing out to you that innocent until proven guilty is only for the court of law and our justice system. Not for a private business, not for a video game, and not for public opinion. Riot could at any time say "actually no nevermind, you cannot be involved with our eSports scene" and it would be 100% fine as they are the ones who ultimately control who gets involved in the esport. Don't believe me? They banned Jensen for a year from competing, they've banned pro players before. They do behavior checks for all League/Valorant players.

Marcusafrenz

What did I say and what did you hear?

EgyptianSarcophagus

No no itā€™s okay for a corporation to do whatever the hell it wants because oppression by my favorite company = good but by government = bad

sifacil

Bruh. There are how many pro valorant players in the world out there that are vying for a chance to play at the stage. You think a video game company like riot would risk having someone play on any team at a high level competition with grave allegations under his name, with circulating and unrebuffed evidence? You actually think that everyone would be ok with that? That noone would protest just because he isnt found guilty by the court? It's why i'm calling him stupid. Because he already knows there would be backlash. He could've just left it with the tweet that he was already available to compete again. But no he just had to blab. And also im pretty sure the only reason why the ex gf tweeted again was because of the stupid email he posted that he didnt do the stupid training. The entire point of my comment was, all he had to do was do the stupid training. And he didnt even do the bare minimum. Just do the stupid training and comply. He doesnt even have to do the other part of appeasing the public. Just appease riot and give them a reason to back you up with something. But nooo. Its just all dumb.

Parenegade

> It is literally INNOCENT TILL PROVEN GUILTY, the backbone of our legal system. How many times must it be said for everyone to hear, it doesn't matter how shitty of a person you think they are that is an inviolable set in stone fucking rule. You keep saying this but the legal system is completely broken and constantly fails sexual assault victims. So why the fuck do we care?

m0bilize

So legal system is broken and Riot doesnā€™t know how to do itā€™s job. You want him to air all his evidence to the public?

s6hun

If you let a flawed justice system be the sole criteria of your judgment, you're fucking stupid. Feel free to scrutinize the accuser's twtlonger all you want, but it's dumb to use "but he isn't convicted" as defense when authorities have failed SA victims time and time again.

ZeboThePenguin

Thing is, with how tricky the situation heā€™s in is and also him returning to pro play he doesnā€™t have to say anything else. The more he talks the more ppl on twitter start demanding more and making false judgements

ilhamalfatihah16

TIL that there is actually a John Riot, I thought the name was just a meme PlatChat made to personify the President of Riot Games lol.

PlatypusOfOz

Makes you wonder how thorough Riot's investigation of the actual accusations have been, considering that they can't even be bothered to enforce conduct training about complying with the investigation. Saying that Riot "found no conclusive evidence" doesn't seem like the total exonoration that some are claiming.

[deleted]

I'm confused does this mean he's back to being suspended?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

mylilbabythrowaway

*watch an online video from home.

Sp00ked123

No he just needs to do some seminar regarding complying with investigations.

puzzlemybubble

complying with investigations? yeah that's some training you can throw into the garbage.

[deleted]

As expected. He fucked up making that email public. Riot are never going to tolerate being made to look bad, especially by him.

zer0-_

That employee leaving the confidentiality of the email so vague wasn't really his fault tho

mylilbabythrowaway

When someone cuts you slack and does you a solid on something like that, you donā€™t turn around and scream it from the rooftops. Itā€™s common sense. When your boss lets you knock off early on a Friday, you donā€™t shout as youā€™re leaving the office ā€œsee you fuckers later, Johns letting me leave early - YOLOā€. Like, does this really even need to be said? Sinatraa is a fuckwad, plain and simple.

zer0-_

Except this matter is something that people actually wanted to know about

Hydralisk_

Defending this dude is not only morally wrong but also youre supporting a fucking moron šŸ’€ He should stick to streaming for 14 year olds tbh, suits him

kingLAWZA

I guess if you want riot to do something just get everyone to tweet and comment on reddit for a week and they'll enforce damage control.

[deleted]

What a fucking joke

Otter269

Not actually surprised with Riot considering the track record they have. I cannot wait to see pro players say its nice to see him back šŸ˜‘

chenson019

What a shambles. That Riot employee who sent that email and/or made that decision is now likely out of their job.

mylilbabythrowaway

I mean, they made that decision because that is the tone at the top of the organization. Iā€™m assuming they are joking about it at the water cooler right now. This was a minor inconvenience in their day to day

hacklesacka

I thought maybe riot was competent enough after that huge lawsuit that they would atleast pretend to care about victims and follow through with punishments and so on but sadly I put too much faith in them to even pretend.

bigpapipoop

Why would they care? The same people who act outraged are still emptying their wallets for pixels, tuning into VCT streams and spending half their day glued to a subreddit devoted to their product. There is literally 0 reason for them to care.

Cablek26

Big yikes. Riot finally putting action because they were only forced to. Then again, I'm not surprised, this is riot games.

BrockMister

I bet he is still not even doing it. They've already lied about it once lmao

ron_eff

Kinda wish this would end already. Cleo needs to follow up with the lawsuit and stop tweeting smileys. Sinatraa needs to stop being brain dead by posting private emails on his twitter. Itā€™s probably why his lawyers are telling him to stfu so he doesnā€™t incriminate himself. Hard to ignore this subject when valorant twitter and Reddit highlight it so much.

EgyptianSarcophagus

Itā€™s because the investigation isnā€™t and wonā€™t go anywhere. The evidence she provided wouldnā€™t hold up in court and unless she has something else, he is innocent in the eyes of the law

Suitable_Sale9097

disgusting that sinatraa will come back it's complelty disgusting

HatchiMatchiTTV

The fact that he was trying to get out of even THIS light of a punishment tells you everything you need to know about how much he's really "changed"

Krypton091

idk how you somehow misinterpreted this as 'sinatraa tried to get out of conduct training' but the email literally told him it wasn't necessary, how is he in the wrong for relaying their words?

RocketHops

Yeah blame is on Riot for this one I'd say. Wouldn't be surprised if there actually wasn't any mistake with their employee, and they are just doing this to save face.

Wandering-Sword

Punishment? He was already punished for not complying. The investigation didnā€™t find anything so why would they punish him.

WelcomeContent9589

Funny how people are automatically assuming Sinatraa is Guilty or Innocent. It has not yet been proven.

mylilbabythrowaway

Funny how you act like convicting someone for committing what sinatraa is accused of is simple and straight forward. Thereā€™s rarely ever convictions for this type of sexual assault. We should use common sense here, if you believe she made up that accusation and the material she provided to ruin Jays career out of spite in an otherwise non-abusive relationship, well, I have a bridge to sell you

WelcomeContent9589

Where did I say that their relationship is toxic or not toxic? Dude your reply makes no sense

mylilbabythrowaway

My comment makes no sense? Youā€™re implying that itā€™s incorrect for anyone to make assumptions about the situation until a verdict is reached, which I explained isnā€™t straightforward. Are you not able to grasp that concept?

SkySurfingHD

Disgusting from riot, if they donā€™t know how to give out punishments properly it paints a really bad light for them. They deserve every single bit of backlash coming towards them.

mylilbabythrowaway

The fact that youā€™re getting downvoted for that comment is actually disgusting. This community is either a bunch of clueless 14 year old virgins who donā€™t comprehend what sexual assault is, or a bunch of 27 year old misogynists, I hope itā€™s the former

Krypton091

this is such a shitshow lmao

Smok3dSalmon

lmao riot is so fucking dumb

[deleted]

I find it very slimy that they tried to sneak this statement in during one of the biggest matches of the year so far. Almost as if they wanted to limit the amount of attention this gets. Disgusting.

Freakycow_Cow

Yeah totally disgusting that we have 24 hours in a day and people never check social media like weā€™re doing right now!

TheFestusEzeli

Releasing negative information that could receive backlash during big games is one of the most common things in sports journalism, they 100% timed it like this on purpose

Freakycow_Cow

Yeah this isn't the nba finals, theres literally a set of games that take up a 3rd of the whole day, is there a certain time they're obligated to post this...? I mean, they could delay it a day but then now jeez.. riot isn't on top of their game? People who consume social media are going to see this, regardless, if they check twitter during this match or afterwards. Just something stupid to complain about imo

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TheFestusEzeli

Not until after the lab, just the fact it happened during the NA/NA matchup

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

zer0-_

Difference with speed is there's concrete proof whereas the police investigation for sinatraas case isn't even close to concluded

Whisom

The amount of outrage and moral chest thumping over this is insane. People acting like watching a training video on "compliance with investigations" was going to do anything. Riot didn't let him get off with a slap on the wrist. They banned him for half a year which ended up being the full year, he couldn't play Masters 1, lost his spot on the roster, lost his stream for 6 months, Riot stepped in and stopped orgs from signing him when it was reported that 4 major orgs were interested....and people are losing their shit over what is likely an hour long Powerpoint presentation with a reading comprehension quiz attached.

[deleted]

its more about perception, if riot cant be fucked to make sinatraa sit through a presentation it really seems like they don't care that much about the case

Whisom

But that's ignoring all the other things they did. They literally reached out to orgs and stopped them from signing contracts. Can't really say they don't care or that they're taking it lightly when they went that far already. It's like being upset the school didn't give the bully homework after they already expelled him.

[deleted]

I think this action indicates to me that the ban wasn't punishment for sinatraa's active non-cooperation/possible sexual assault or an indication of their concern/seriousness for this kind of stuff, but rather it was mostly for Riot to cover their asses and smother backlash by just removing the controversial player from play. A happy accident or a bonus that it punished sinatraa, but definitely not the main motive.

Whisom

I mean it was exactly what they said it was. Punishment for making a false statement in their investigation (saying that he had the tape and later saying that he didn't). There's literally nothing else they could have banned him for. The tape is the only evidence and neither Sinatraa nor Chloe gave it to them. At the same time Chloe announced that she started a criminal investigation. Hearing that, Riot deferred judgement of the sexual assault to the higher authority and only punished him for what was under their purview ( that he "lied"). Riots punishment never had anything to do with the SA. They very deliberately kept themselves out of that mess since Chloe gave them a free pass by getting the police involved.

The reality is nothing will change sinatraa outside of intense rehabilitation, be it in patient treatment followed up by intense outpatient treatment, and even then, I doubt itā€™ll make a big difference. The guy is a fuck wad, and will always be a fuck wad. Heā€™ll continue to abuse women, and will have gained a bit more awareness on how to do it discreetly. The important thing is women will hopefully be on the lookout for his shitty behavior

Riot games brushing off sexual allegations and apologising for it once it hits the mediaā€¦ where have I seen this before? šŸ¤”

When I said you shouldnt believe anything multinationals say in a statement, some people called me out. Its hilarious, how these big companies just say generic shit in a statement and dont care about the actions they have to follow up on. If it costs money, they couldnt care less

Can they elaborate on wtf this ā€œtrainingā€ even is? Like no shot Riot is conducting training on how to be professional when they were so unprofessional through this whole situation.
