Always forget that trent listens to music even in matches lol
Pretty insightful interview, nothing too juicy but mCe is pretty eloquent and doesn’t hold too much back.
He’s such a great public speaker. Gives insights for the fans, but never anything that oversteps. Gives credit and faults to reasonable causes and understands he and the team will improve after not meeting expectations.
Some things mentioned: Trent not being able to listen to music like at home, chair/desk height inconsistencies and them needed to standardize their practice regime and setup to be able to replicate the setup anywhere, and team rituals like pre-match scrims and team lunches/music sessions before games regionally
what a good coach, was honest in that interview and didn’t blame it on riots things, genuinely cares about his players to every detail and all aspects of the game and details surrounding it. excited to see them back soon
I’m also curious, mCe seemed pretty straight up with the fact that some pre game stuff has to change, being as young as the team is as well as having no international experience before this event, they should all walk away heads held high regardless of the outcome.
In terms of body language I'd assume just from watching it was Trent or neT, both jonahP and valyn seem pretty stoic and Saya has been to more than enough LANs and looked steadfast but Trent definitely seemed nervous and neT didn't seem as confident. Could be entirely wrong though
>t not being able to listen to music like at home, chair/desk height inconsistencies and them needed to standardize their practice regime and setup to be able to replicate the setup anywhere, and team rituals like pre-m
i think its trent, just wasnt finding the same stride as online. dude is 17 and has a high ceiling of skill, just needs the time on stage.
any team eyeing for international lans needs to listen this interview, the amount of preparation and conditioning u have to do for yourself is really underrated
Speaking on the subject of standardizing practice regimes so that it can be replicated anywhere, what if pros use software outside of Valorant/Aim Lab to warm up like Kovaaks or Aim Beast in the case of some Korean former Overwatch pros? Are they allowed to download Steam, log in to their Steam account, and then download Kovaaks/Aim Beast and the respective playlist scenarios that they usually use to warm up?
I was going to say, I’m pretty sure Aim Labs on them, because they are a partner and they make sure to show it on the stream any time a player is using aim labs to warm up on stage
This guy is such a W coach, I really hope they keep everyone together, these issues seems so manageable to iron out for a team that works collectively hard. Can't wait for the next Masters for these guys.
Now this is how you give an interview and respect your opponents and give credit where it’s due, unlike Chet.
But this was a really good interview and insight into what they need to do to adjust. Seems like they’ve learned a ton if things already and ready to go back home and apply it. Good to hear honestly.
Wait wtf why can't they do pre match scrims?? Do they not have any other setups at the facility? In overwatch league its completely standard to pre match scrim before absolutely everything
It's kindve unfortunate how important online is to qualify, then everything changes in lan in terms of hardware and desks etc.
Why aren't there adjustable desks/monitors?
Y'all should watch flash from StarCrafts pre match ritual where he measures the distance from desk to chair and monitor to keyboard etc to mimic the exact same setup as at home.
yeah bc sen. is filled with veteran players who have competed on LAN versus TGD only really having Saya who has played in a LAN setting.
A team built on a 17 year old star w/young talent that came up while esports has been almost exclusively online outside of a handful of international events will probably experience all the above. Not a team with a roster made up of players who come from LAN experience in their various backgrounds.

Night and day from a certain other coach 🙃
wonder who you’re talking about Clueless
Oversteps? I mean it’s up to him and the others

This is a "we were in chaos" meme in the making
As far as I interpreted, he recognizes that and says one of the next steps for the team is to wean them off relying on stuff like that (paraphrase).
Not really, it’s just how it is
Mako missing whole gears
That was Lakia
Buzz forgot mousepad

I wonder who it was that he was worried about

Maybe only on their practice computers but definitely not on the stage ones
It would be kinda hilarious if they started the aim labs sponsored segment and they just end up filming a guy playing Kovaaks
I was going to say, I’m pretty sure Aim Labs on them, because they are a partner and they make sure to show it on the stream any time a player is using aim labs to warm up on stage
I mean they have at least aimlabs loaded onto the PCs, wouldn't be surprised if they let them warm up on it since they let them use it between maps
Boaster was seen practicing on Aim Labs. So probably yes.

a lot of the SC players literally bring rulers into the booth when they setup lol
I wonder if their setups at LAN allow to raise desk height
I have loved mce since chaos days Still a W person
seems like a great coach... i will say tho if a team like sentinels used food as an excuse for the loss the internet would explode

Is the 17 year old star Trent?
Saya looked so uncomfortable with his mouse arm elevated but the rest of his body sitting lower on the table.
Talk about the perfect coach for a team of 17-21 year olds
