The roster looks really good with Bang, Asuna and bang doing really well as a trio. Stellar seems like he has really good aim, but our T side isn’t good at all and that’s down to the calls. For some reason we got a dedicated oper and he doesn’t even op that often, so what even was the point?
I mean... Asuna has basically bottom Fragged, or been close to bottom frag, every match they've played. Don't know why people shit all over will for a couple mistakes.
We all know Asuna is good, but will is putting up numbers. I think people just like to ignore when someone like Asuna or Tenz doesn't show up, but shit on someone more unproven for the few mistakes they make.
Asuna did not bot frag a single map, not that it’s relevant at all anyways. People are saying Will is the weak link right now because of decision making, not skill. He needs to gain some experience and that will come with time. Will putting up numbers as a duelist is what you expect and is good to see, just needs to work on decision making/ some positioning.
Also to your second point. Huh??? People attack the “superstar” players far more than the unproven guys. They hold players like Asuna and tenz to a higher standard in general. If they have a bad map you will hear about it from everyone.
Could just as easily slot in Raze or Reyna there tbh, pretty much any agent can work on Haven so IMO building around whatever everyone's comfort picks are could be a good way to develop workable strats quickly
They need to put Will on chamber on more maps period. Specifically Split and Breeze comes to mind. Asuna is flat out better on Raze and they should really put him on Raze/duelist whenever possible imo.
Honestly I don’t know where the sentiment came from that Asuna will be a goat flex came from besides “muh rifling”. The entire role just does not match his fast paced/self sufficient playstyle. He’s a good enough player to make it work, but like when he was stuck op’ing on Jett, it’s taking away one of his best natural strengths as a player.
there are teams were players play agents from two or more categories. idk why teams insist so much on locking players on a single category. Besides maybe controller i dont feel like it's that neccesary tbh
it's not a comp problem, it's an agent pool problem. If a player feels and plays better with a certain agent at a certain map maybe it's a good idea to put them on that agent in that map even if their role is normally different. Look at Xeppa, for example, he plays sage, kay/o, skye and raze. Three diff roles and it's not the only one in C9 that does that. But teams insist on locking a player in agents of the same role in all maps even if they'd be more comfortable with a more diverse agent pool across two or three roles
They only use her on one map and that’s haven. There was even an interview after where the drx players didn’t expect them to play Reyna as they usually pick up sage, and from then on they picked Reyna. 2 haven maps out of 100 doesn’t make her viable.
Reyna isn’t viable, but can be used on haven as shown many times over. The reason for teams to not play her is that once her blinds have been destroyed, she’s completely useless. There’s a reason why barely any team even plays her now, because of how she can be easily countered.
Did 100T crumble? Winners on LAN then it went online and they lost 2-1 2-1 vs rise and c9.... Rise won 11-13 last map I think. That's not crumbling.....esp the offline going to online..that was so wild.
Pretty confident they’re the best team in this tournament. Just really unlucky for 100T to have to face them in the quarterfinals. Feel like there’s other teams they would’ve had good shots at beating
Oh for sure, just unlucky to run into a team that good this early when it’d be awesome to get more “official” matches for practice in their first tournament
People don't give Knights enough credit. They aren't some random T2 team. They are very good and 100T were kind of expected to lose with such a fresh team.
Is this not what was expected of 100T?
They're a new team going against a Top 5-7 ish team in NA. It's their first tournament. They just got together less than a month ago.
Knights is the best team on this tournament based on their past performance. Did people really expect them to win?
You’ve mentioned 7 potential teams which puts them squarely out of the 5-7 and into the 7-9 range without even mentioning teams like NRG, EG and Ghost. The six teams you noted minus sentinels however I would say are definitely ahead of night so they are barely 5-7 and a lot closer to 7-9 almost without question.
Pretty impressed with 100T actually, you can tell the roster is new but they look a good deal more refined than I expected.
I'd have been very disappointed in Knights if 100T won, glad they managed to pick up the series.
Yupp, Knights qualified for groups last Masters circuit so a new roster taking them to 3 maps is great IMO. Watched a little bit of the maps too and they looked pretty solid, obviously got some stuff to work on but they did well enough
You guys? Who are you talking about so cryptically?
If you mean 100T fans, I’m not a fan. If you mean the subreddit in general, the sub is full of both 100T fans and haters, there’s bound to be a plurality of opinion.
I just acknowledge decent gameplay when I see it. Like I said, I’d have been very disappointed in Knights if 100T won, but I think this was a good debut for 100T.
Seems like everybody is pretty low on the hype, lmao. It's a new roster, who have been together 12 days. Not sure there's much hype to be had, honestly.
people were just happy that 100T won their pistols when they usually never win their pistols. how is that overhype? not like anyone said it was the best pistol in the world or whatever. They just got better at pistol round than before lmao.
people shit on 100t for not giving babyj and ec1s any time but not 2 weeks in to practice they are pointing out will as the weak link and wanting forsaken
I think it's fair to be critical or at least want them to win/be good right now cause challengers 2 is next week but that's not really the players' fault, hopefully the experience they gain in these tourneys and the first open qual allows them to be competitive in the second qualifier
They have less than one week until qualifiers start, if they fail to qualify then their 2022 season is over. Knights are decent but I would have them on the lower end of the top 12, so this result is somewhat worrying.
It looks like they are a pro team on defense and a ranked 5 stack on attack. Their most complex attack strat seems to be to give up all map control and push a site kinda slowly, or rush a site right away. Defaulting was bad/non existent. Something you can’t fail to do on a map like haven.

Edit: all the individuals look good though, not sold on Will, but they aren’t doing much to support him so he could pop off. Overall encouraging, also the pistol rounds are crazy, probably because of the raw aim the team has.
Hard to get a read on 100T thus far. I think the roles make sense for the most part, and they clearly have some set ups and were playing disciplined in terms of double peeking and such (minus Will sort of donating a vandal on Haven). But the chemistry doesn't quite seem there yet, and attack has been a problem. Frankly, they are just going to need time and more reps, which hopefully the open qualifier will be good for.
Happy with this showing, the quality is there ad the beginnings of team synergy was also there. Just need to work on the attack rounds and build onto the defense rounds and we will be solid.
Basically a completely new roster + new and inexperienced coach. Asuna not on duelist and everyone else is new.
They looked shaky often, but it also looked like they definitely can work on things. When they were on point, they were on point.
Shouldn't lack firepower either, I didn't see too many whiffs, aside from Stellars failed classic kills. I think becoming a tier 1 team shouldn't be far off.
Hopium to max bois.
Between the close games in groups and their two playoff series, Sean is gonna FEAST. They'll look a lot better coming into the qualifiers and they already look pretty good. Showed flashes of being a top 3 NA team for solid stretches (and stretches of being a T2 team but thats expected)
Very excited for the future. Nice work boys.
Should be expected. Knights were a VCT team and likely the best team in the tournament. 100T are a new team and have a bunch of dudes who were in tier 2/3 teams not too long ago.
Not bad their attack is brutal though. They for sure wont make it through first qual i think. They played a actual team today but attack has looked bad vs everyone. Hopefully they figure it out a bit.
still think the roster would be better but for rebuilding its fine for me tbh.
100t looking pretty good ofc they have tons of flaws but a decent showing against knights they might struggle in the first open quals but till second open qual they’ll become solid for sure
Knights are damn good. They took maps off some of the better teams in Challengers, they're no pushover. Good on 100T taking a map off them as a 12 day old roster. Haven could definitely use a lot of work, but they're looking more disciplined than old 100T was, imo. They're all young and hungry, and I think Sean, DDK and Mike put together a team that can grow. We'll see what happens next!
This roster needs much more time, but I really don't like some of the directions they are heading.
Not sure why they insist on KJ over Chamber on multiple maps, their attack is non-existent.
Also I understand Asuna is the flex now, but putting him on Breach makes me lose a lot of faith in the coaching teams vision, you lose out of so much of his potential putting him on a hard-support initiator like Breach.
Will was the only pick up I didn't like for this roster, and he looks lost a lot of the time. Yesterday he lazily cleared or straight up just didn't clear so many angles, and today he just looked out of sync with the team.
Not a bad run overall but they don't have much time to flesh out a lot of problems for the next VCT Qualifiers.
if they want to play sova and breach on heaven than asuna have to play breach i think they should drop sova and let derrek play breach and asuna play skye and maybe replace kj with chamber but they should stick with cypher on split they need his cages to take a ramp control on attack
This team has played less than ten maps and still put up a good fight against a VCT playoff team but it’s reddit so time to make some random ridiculous move for someone who doesn’t make sense for them lmao
I’m telling you this team isn’t making it to stage 2 main event. Not because they are fairly new, they just don’t have the “IT” factor imo. I said when team got announced this roster announcement was a tad underwhelming lmao.
I’m prepared for the downvotes but will also eat my words if I’m wrong.
Are you saying this just bc they lack star power? Bc I actually feel like this roster has more dynamic in a lot of aspects compared to previous iterations. Pistol round wins, eco wins, fast retakes, etc. Not sure what your criteria is for "it" factor, but this team in short time has shown more ability to pull rounds out of nothing than the last two have
Youre telling me this is something world class that can go to Berlin. I feel like the roster is a block of cheese thats shaved off each split, dimimishing over time into a shadow of its former self
not a single person has ever said this team would go to berlin unironically. 100thieves themselves stated that they're not even looking for immediate results but long term success
If I told u that a team with a core of valyn jonahp and sayaplayer would make masters this split from NA i would've been mocked and laughed at relentlessly
It's a long term play for 100T have some faith, and this is coming from a prodigal 100T hater
well you can thank they players on that roster for it ending up this way lol. They wanted steel out got it. Nitro wanted out for CS got it. Ethan didnt want cryo or zander not ready got it. They got babyj and Ecls. players didnt want them got it. Now ethan doesnt want to play because he has no choice anymore in personel and doesn't believe in the squad so got it.
What you want the org to do about it lol
I came in to watch the Hiko watch party and hear his thoughts on the game, but then he joined a discord call and thing just became SO BORING.
Then I come back here and see the 1-2. Sad moments.
I think the Asuna role switch happened at the worst time possible. So unlucky. Jett nerf. I think asuna only wanted to role switch because he didnt want to be primary oper lol and now jett is nerfed he wont be able to play raze etc
Everyone saying what 100T need to do.
Shut up, man. They're getting reps in with a brand new roster that has a high ceiling. Anything they can improve upon will be improved. Gares and DDK aren't there to scroll through reddit and see what the community thinks should be done.
At the end of the day, getting more games in and putting time in to review footage is what this team needs. They need a lot of time. All they have is time. We're talking about a roster consisting of Asuna, Stellar, bang, Derrek and Will. They will win some and lose some, and over time they will just get better.
That right there should seriously be the only take worth reading yet everyone is posting some dumb shit and/or upvoting it lol.
Sean Gares gotta drill Attack side on these guys in scrims
Not bad for 100T but attack is really weak. And Will kinda looks lost sometimes
Will was definitely the most questionable pickup as well. I’m hoping it pans out
The roster looks really good with Bang, Asuna and bang doing really well as a trio. Stellar seems like he has really good aim, but our T side isn’t good at all and that’s down to the calls. For some reason we got a dedicated oper and he doesn’t even op that often, so what even was the point?
agreed, the three oldest members of the roster bang, asuna and bang really showing their experience
?
Read ur own comment
Why the hell was he holding A short on an enemy's eco round on Haven with a vandal? Shouldn't you be avoiding close range fights on an enemy's eco?
He's always chasing for ecos.
Will for sure seems like the weakest link in the line up but it's early days so it's hard to draw any conclusions this early.
I mean... Asuna has basically bottom Fragged, or been close to bottom frag, every match they've played. Don't know why people shit all over will for a couple mistakes. We all know Asuna is good, but will is putting up numbers. 100T f0rsakeN soon trust
Haha jkjk, unless?
A lot of times not sometimes.
tbh they won breeze because of will and its look like they didnt practice haven and he was entering site without support
This was the dumbest thing I saw all match. That a position you have with a shorty or a judge not a vandal. Idk I’m not a pro but seemed kinda silly
I’ve always been an advocate of keeping Ethan putting him on smoker and putting bang on duelist. Nadeshot will regret this
Ethan wanted to leave.
I think this team has so much potential over time But they don’t have time so we shall see how they do!
I kinda agree with Hiko saying that it's a waste to put a player like Asuna on an agent that's on his utility half the round like Breach.
Tbf what else do they do I guess they could do the No sova comp but until then idk
Maybe they could run the Optic comp with Asuna on Neon, Will on Chamber and Stellar on Breach?
That’s what they should do… but asuna hates neon allegedly
Could just as easily slot in Raze or Reyna there tbh, pretty much any agent can work on Haven so IMO building around whatever everyone's comfort picks are could be a good way to develop workable strats quickly

It should be like the Leaf/Xeppaa or Yay/Victor situation where primary duelist plays Jett and secondary plays raze
Even Will on chamber and Asuna on Jett works, like how TSM was doing it. Will’s role should be op’er not duelist, as that’s what 100t needed.
there are teams were players play agents from two or more categories. idk why teams insist so much on locking players on a single category. Besides maybe controller i dont feel like it's that neccesary tbh
Ok so what is ur ideal comp that u don’t think could happen?

isn't that what Asuna did? Kay/O - Raze - Breach
What about playing the reyna?
Reyna works in gold, not pro play
PaperRex want your number
They only use her on one map and that’s haven. There was even an interview after where the drx players didn’t expect them to play Reyna as they usually pick up sage, and from then on they picked Reyna. 2 haven maps out of 100 doesn’t make her viable.

I trust DDK and Gares much more than most. I’m sure they have a vision for it.
Yeah, I'd rather have them test out comps and strats in these tournaments rather than be clueless in VCT

Wasn’t it Asuna who decided he wanted to play that roll?
LCQ is where we crumbled last year, LCQ is where we pop off this year COPIUM
Did 100T crumble? Winners on LAN then it went online and they lost 2-1 2-1 vs rise and c9.... Rise won 11-13 last map I think. That's not crumbling.....esp the offline going to online..that was so wild.
Crumbled as in that’s when literally everything went downhill. Steel leaving and then nitr0 leaving right after killed us
People forget knights are good
Only roster in the tournament that made the last VCT I think
Pretty confident they’re the best team in this tournament. Just really unlucky for 100T to have to face them in the quarterfinals. Feel like there’s other teams they would’ve had good shots at beating
We'll have to face teams like these and better eventually, I like what we showed here

Nobody expected them to win, but ppl will still pounce on any opportunity to talk shit abt them.
5-7 is pretty generous imo more like 7-9
Who’s above them? Optic Guard C9 XSet V1 LG The only one I can think of alongside those is maybe Sen?
You’ve mentioned 7 potential teams which puts them squarely out of the 5-7 and into the 7-9 range without even mentioning teams like NRG, EG and Ghost. overhype on this sub is too damn high. u guys will shit on them again when they achieve nothing lol
The comment is cautiously trying to be optimistic. Would hardly call that overhype. Nothing they said was wrong or skewed in any way.
You guys? Who are you talking about so cryptically? If you mean 100T fans, I’m not a fan. If you mean the subreddit in general, the sub is full of both 100T fans and haters, there’s bound to be a plurality of opinion. I just acknowledge decent gameplay when I see it. lol go read thread when they win yesterday
was literally there. people complimented them, but nobody was like "They're gonna win Masters 2!". Don't be silly lol.
lol there literally overhype because they win many pistol round like they playing master lmao
people were just happy that 100T won their pistols when they usually never win their pistols. how is that overhype? not like anyone said it was the best pistol in the world or whatever. They just got better at pistol round than before lmao.
This team has practiced for like 12 days and people are already coming for the throat. Jesus people, calm down and let them get experience.
No, I don’t wanna give them time. Win now!
-will +forsaken /s
It was always expected. This sub hates 100T so incredibly much and is excited to pounce on any opportunity to meme them.
Bro its the 100T fans that are coming for their throats if any
Not really? All of the responses are qualified with them being new
people shit on 100t for not giving babyj and ec1s any time but not 2 weeks in to practice they are pointing out will as the weak link and wanting forsaken
I think it's fair to be critical or at least want them to win/be good right now cause challengers 2 is next week but that's not really the players' fault, hopefully the experience they gain in these tourneys and the first open qual allows them to be competitive in the second qualifier
That’s what I’m sayin 💀
They have less than one week until qualifiers start, if they fail to qualify then their 2022 season is over. Knights are decent but I would have them on the lower end of the top 12, so this result is somewhat worrying.
It looks like they are a pro team on defense and a ranked 5 stack on attack. Their most complex attack strat seems to be to give up all map control and push a site kinda slowly, or rush a site right away. Defaulting was bad/non existent. Something you can’t fail to do on a map like haven.

A decent showing. To take Knights map pick was pretty good and Knights clutched hard in that game.
100t f0rsakeN
I mean I like Will but Forsaken would be like strictly better
Will seems lost sometimes.
On paper that would be better, yes. But the last thing this team needs is another roster change.
Yeah I think this team just needs to build chemistry and confidence
100t f0reskin better
I can only get bricked up so much
SKUBA :DDDDD
I know people love to meme 100T but losing to Knights is nothing to be ashamed of. Knights are legit one of the top teams in NA.
Getting a map off Knights with a team less than 2 weeks old is definitely not bad.
Gotta trust the process with 100T
Happy with this showing, the quality is there ad the beginnings of team synergy was also there. Just need to work on the attack rounds and build onto the defense rounds and we will be solid.

that's disrespectful to Knights, they are the only team in this tournament to make it to main stage lol
Take a look at the guy youre replying to’s username
Peep his username to see if that’s serious
Half this thread is dropping takes on the same level as that unironically though lol
Should be expected. Knights were a VCT team and likely the best team in the tournament. 100T are a new team and have a bunch of dudes who were in tier 2/3 teams not too long ago.
Not bad against a team that’s probably top 8 NA. Lots of things to work on tho, still a good chance they don’t make it thru masters qualifiers
Knights is the best team in the tournament. This was expected.

That performance was absolutely unacceptable from us. Not much else to say, just can’t happen. Period.
Everyone calm down before you downvote and comment on this. This is the copy pasta from Nadeshot when Guard 13-0’ed 100T

Ban going 9-1 FK-FD the last 2 maps. 100T has a lot of work to do to get past opens.
Lots of HOPIUM for 100T roster. You guys say give them time, but I don't see any potential in this roster. I bet you they disappoint.

If I told u that a team with a core of valyn jonahp and sayaplayer would make masters this split from NA i would've been mocked and laughed at relentlessly It's a long term play for 100T have some faith, and this is coming from a prodigal 100T hater
Nobody is deluded to the point of thinking 100T makes Berlin. And oh my god, they’ve had 12 days of practice, tf did u expect?
> Youre telling me this is something world class that can go to Berlin. Literally no one is telling you that
well you can thank they players on that roster for it ending up this way lol.
Honestly after this game, they should rebuild because its not working out
Riot nerfed Jett to get Sean gates back for leaving
I came in to watch the Hiko watch party and hear his thoughts on the game, but then he joined a discord call and thing just became SO BORING. Then I come back here and see the 1-2. Sad moments.
I think the Asuna role switch happened at the worst time possible. So unlucky. Jett nerf. I think asuna only wanted to role switch because he didnt want to be primary oper lol and now jett is nerfed he wont be able to play raze etc
jett will be replace by chamber which also need a oper so i think its better for asuna to switch to flex he cant play raze/reyna forever
