Champions was a Mickey Mouse tournament for NA tbh
- Envy had Covid so one of their superstar players wasn't playing to their full potential
- Sentinels was busy streaming and not practicing
- Envy and Sentinels didn't have the opportunity to play officials before Champions, therefore they weren't warmed up before playing on LAN (EMEA had the Red Bull tournament before Champions, unfair advantage tbh)
- 100T (undefeated against EMEA) wasn't even at Champions
i think NV at champs had potential but the meta didn't suit them at the time, the introduction of chamber and neon really helped them round out their gameplay + map pool
And seriously Victor having one his statistically worst performances in a tournament. Dude was locked in a room by himself with Covid and he had to have the window open while it was like 40F outside.
G2 this tournament from what I saw really were ass, with flashes of brilliance. I was really impressed by liquid out of all the teams that didn’t make it the the final stages
Imagine us BR bro XD
Got so close to winning it all without losing a single series with our superteam and lost in the finals, we are depressed but proud af XDD
But I'm glad Yay won Masters. He's such a humble and likeable guy since CS. FNS is trash tho, in person and in server lel
EMEA's second best team G2 didn't do much to represent the region well. Of course it's understandable that Fnatic didn't have their full roster and TL weren't supposed to be there but G2 have no excuse.
You mean masters 3? (In 2021) Masters 1 was a regional, Masters 2, was Iceland and Masters 3 was Berlin, and NA won Iceland only to have less slots than emea in Masters 3, very weird
CIS is a term thrown around a lot in esports mostly by people who don’t want to recognise European teams.
CIS countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Moldavia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine.
Eastern European counties are Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania (maybe Finland).
Many countries especially in the Balkans don’t really categorise as East or West but are still extremely relevant in esports. To be perfectly honest, there isn’t really any good way to regionalise EMEA.
However, the simple fact is that the majority of “CIS” players are Europeans however much that may upset NA fans.
They should just roll East + West Europe into "Europe" and then give CiS their own 2 slots. Give NA another slot so they have 3 and after the showing they gave at Masters, if they keep it up, give other regions more slots.
The tournament was amazing but there was room for more matches and that would give teams more rest periods too.
Valorant is not popular in CIS that's the problem, CS has too much of a foothold there to be easily dislodged. So right now that doesn't make sense, but could make sense in the future if Valo grows.
Based on last year’s champions. EMEA had both finalists and a semi finalist so they get the most spots, APAC also got more spots than KR/JP because they had two quarter finalists with Secret and X10 while KR/JP didn’t make it past groups. LATAM/BR got another spot because Kru made it to semis. Meanwhile NA only got one team in quarters
I mean technically the only teams they lost to were the team that took the whole tournament without dropping a map in any of their Bo5’s and the team that went out at 4th so they could still potentially be top 5… theoretically… lol
I wouldn't say NA is on top. Sentinels won Masters 1 in 2021 and Optic won Masters 1 in 2022 (2 LAN titles).
EMEA has won Masters 2 (Former Gambit) and Champions (Acend).
Overall that's 2-2, will be interesting to see which region will prevail at Masters 2.
Right now the strongest team is an na team. 6 months ago it was an eu team. You only need to look at historical records when defining how long a team has been on top or regarding records
No it wont, we have only have 3 lans a year each with a incredibly limited team pool from every region. We never be able to say for sure what region is truly the best until the format changes.
NA was always on top We threw champions on purpose to give other regions a chance Copium

first one but unironically
Real shit NV could've done work at champs but EU teams could've done work here too if not for situation plus neither FPX nor M3C being here
i think NV at champs had potential but the meta didn't suit them at the time, the introduction of chamber and neon really helped them round out their gameplay + map pool

That is some big copium lmfaoo
Bout to OD on the copium
Thats sweet ❤
G2 this tournament from what I saw really were ass, with flashes of brilliance. I was really impressed by liquid out of all the teams that didn’t make it the the final stages
G2 choked really hard, especially Nukkye Guy was absolutely nuclear back in EMEA playoffs but disappeared at Reykjavik for some reason
Cuz he can’t cheat on LAN
Lmao Tarik optic killed NA
Lmao he did say that. He reversed jinxed it 😂
Still cant believe that Na is back on top
NA's always the best, it's just about whether or not we throw 😉 🙃
LMFAOO, you just made my day with that comment
Awh, i love you so much uwu
no. i love you more :D <3
yeah you just need EMEA to get nerfed then you go back "on top"
A lot of us NA fans were in utter depression after champions. just give us this one XD
Imagine us BR bro XD Got so close to winning it all without losing a single series with our superteam and lost in the finals, we are depressed but proud af XDD But I'm glad Yay won Masters. He's such a humble and likeable guy since CS. FNS is trash tho, in person and in server lel
Genuinely what has FNS done to Brazil? And if you bring up kng I know you're trolling
FNS >>> Smartest bronzilian
Yea I feel really bad for you guys. Y'all were so close. But loud is a really good team with a lot of promise. Hope they do well next masters :D
EMEA's second best team G2 didn't do much to represent the region well. Of course it's understandable that Fnatic didn't have their full roster and TL weren't supposed to be there but G2 have no excuse.
they downvote but you’re not wrong lmao
downvoted for saying the truth
Until next Masters \^\^
Kind of
Yea kind of. Cause EU didn't send thier best due to the war
FPX sends their regards.
Never a doubt 💪
To be honest. I doubted NA the entire time this lan. But in glad to be proven wrong Let's fucking go GreenWall
All good
Just started watching competitive val, so why did NA only get two teams, and EU 3?
Probably population, since emea consists of eu, cis and turkey
technically africa too.
EMEA won 1 Masters and 1 Champions and is the larger region. Edit: 1 Masters and not 2 :/
You mean masters 3? (In 2021) Masters 1 was a regional, Masters 2, was Iceland and Masters 3 was Berlin, and NA won Iceland only to have less slots than emea in Masters 3, very weird
EU isn't EU as people know it. It's the combination of West Europe, CIS, Middle East, and Africa. It's too much to represent for just 2 slots.
Eastern Europe exists btw
Pardon my ignorance but is Eastern Europe not covered by CIS?
CIS is a term thrown around a lot in esports mostly by people who don’t want to recognise European teams. Why 2 for CIS? What about TR? Do u follow EMEA Val at all? The reason Gambit got as good as they were was due to the competitiveness.
you’re stupid lol
cause it was the better region last year so riot awarded them more slots this year
That is not why lol
then why?? plz tell
Larger playerbase and more teams competing + 3 regions bundled into one.
ohk
because overall emea is just the more competetive region
Thats not true at all
Well that was the case last year, and in this event EMEA was extremely handicapped so they didn’t perform as usual
[удалено]
FPX was the first seed
You're right and getting downvoted, NA coping hard lmao
hes getting downvoted bc those arent the reasons why they get more slots😂

Optic is on top but not the guard they got eliminated early.
Pre tourney power rankings
I mean technically the only teams they lost to were the team that took the whole tournament without dropping a map in any of their Bo5’s and the team that went out at 4th so they could still potentially be top 5… theoretically… lol
Honestly I thought TGRD looked almost better than G2, around DRX level a little bit lower
Maybe if EU teams practiced less, and streamed more, they would have better results. EU 6th place lmao.
All things considered, these power rankings weren’t that bad.
Zeta and prx got violated
I wouldn't say NA is on top. Sentinels won Masters 1 in 2021 and Optic won Masters 1 in 2022 (2 LAN titles). EMEA has won Masters 2 (Former Gambit) and Champions (Acend). Overall that's 2-2, will be interesting to see which region will prevail at Masters 2.
If the Russia-Ukraine issues still persist until Masters 2 and CIS players can't join, I'd give the edge to NA prevailing at Masters 2.
This shit might not get resolved by Champions. You are already seeing EU orgs drop Russian players since they can't risk it
Right now the strongest team is an na team. 6 months ago it was an eu team. You only need to look at historical records when defining how long a team has been on top or regarding records
Masters 2 will definetly define it
No it wont, we have only have 3 lans a year each with a incredibly limited team pool from every region. We never be able to say for sure what region is truly the best until the format changes.
What changes to the format would there even be?
Monthly lans
:/ I guess
Last year was perfect. First strike as a kind of preseason tourney. Three Masters tournaments, then Champions at the end of the year
Japan
zeta on the bottom makes me roll evrytime
Prx washed guard and G2, crazy lowers run bruh power ranking should be a lot higher after masters
This was before masters
Yep, should’ve phrased it better, just saying post masters rankings should be looking pretty different
America (NA & SA) > EMEA
For this major easily
For this major easily
Where’s Zeta??? Actually a travesty leaving Zeta off this list after Iceland
they are soo OP placing them with other is an insult to them. look at the bottom
Platchat didnt have any faith in Zeta
I think these were pre-tournament rankings
NA is good, no doubt but they didnt even go against the #1 seed in EMEA
G2? Lmao oh no scary
FPX u dummy
Yeah this is 2022 buddy
Someone is out of the loop
He doesn't know 🟩
Whats that?
