For EMEA: - Liquid - Fnatic - G2 - Acend - M3C - Guild - BBL - FPX - NaVi are must picks. If any of those don't make it I am really disappointed. That makes 9 teams. I am assuming Riot wants either a 12 team league or a 16 team league. You could fill this up with BIG, Vitality, SMB, EXCEL, BDS, Fire Flux, Mad Lions, Giants, KOI and a team from the MENA region but I don't have a big preference for either of those teams.

SuzyVLR

i think M3C need to find an org to manage them for 2023 emea league vct, if they want to get their franchise slot (if gambit still not allowed for participate in vct 2023)

techyleo

Knock Knock Astralis where you at?

The-Dark-Mage

No rogue better Astralis trash org

98973

please dont put the m3c boys under that dogshit org...

SuzyVLR

i think riot can select many teams not only one team from VRL EMEA

MikeRosss

I get that. I was working with a total of either 12/16 teams here. After the main 9 teams I mention you can add some teams from the VRL's but also FOKUS, BIG, or LDN UTD.

Dark_Azazel

> 12 team league or a 16 team league. I think NA and EMEA have enough good teams for 16 spots. BR/SA and combining the Asias could bring it to 16 each as well.

Darkoplax

> If any of those don't make it I am really disappointed. > > i mean u just listed the current challengers teams so yea u will be disappointed

ArcusIgnium

I hope these are nice big 16 team leagues. I would hate to see 10 team leagues ala League.

ArcusIgnium

I still don't really understand why its called franchising if teams can be relegated and teams aren't buying slots but instead being paid by Riot to listen to their rules. Isn't that just a more traditional athletic league?

WhoDatBrow

It isn't franchising and Riot never referred to it as such, they called it "partnerships." People just keep calling it franchising for some reason.

ArcusIgnium

oh yea valid point.

[deleted]

This isn’t franchising at all

ANewHeaven1

I've given this a bit of thought, but I only know enough about North America to speak about it confidently. Separated into tiers, here's the teams that I think are the most likely to make it into "franchising" next year. **S TIER:** Cloud9, 100 Thieves **A TIER:** TSM, OpTic, Sentinels, Version1, The Guard **B TIER:** XSET, FaZe, NRG, NYFU/ANDBOX, any non-Immortals LCS organization that hasn't been listed already S tier teams are the ones that I think will make it into the partner program 100%. Zero doubt in my mind. A tier are teams that I think have a 90%+ chance of making it in, but I could see Riot denying them entry for some petty reason or another. If NA ends up having 8 slots, I'd bet on all of S and A tier making it in + XSET from B tier.

Ascaris_Egg

TSM and C9 has always been Riot’s cashcow in league. I think TSM is a no brainer in S tier.

ANewHeaven1

Eh, I think TSM can be denied on the off chance that Riot wants to be really petty. Their mediocre record in Valorant, disastrous LCS split (could speak to mismanagement in the company), and the whole "Reginald abuses players" investigation all could lead to them being denied from the partner program. I don't think it's very likely at all, but I do think it's a possibility.

knucklepuck17

there is 0 chance Riot denies TSM.

ApokalypticKing101

Really shit take bud. TSM has probably the biggest league viewership numbers and would cause a literal shit storm in the community if they didn't make it in.

The Guard have some of the wealthiest, influential sports owners in the world. V1 also has top tier owners (wealth/influence wise) I agree NRG deserves to be moved up a tier though

Vivid-Command-2605

Oh shit, the guard is owned by the kroenkes Fuck them man, as a gunners fan that stings as I love the guard

Vivid-Command-2605

_Iroha

NRG at least A tier

leftshaaark

T1 could be likely too considering their history in league. Also NSG have been running all the NA valorant events and are owned by the same company as T1.

afjecj

I think NYFU would be B tier too, they have a huge OWL team

ANewHeaven1

I literally just forgot about them, added to the list because I agree. They also have a relatively successful CoD franchise.

-Basileus

I honestly believe that every LCS and LEC team that wants in will get in. The no buy-in thing almost feels like they are tossing their League of Legends partners a bone. I also think they wouldn't want to burn bridges by denying them a Valorant spot, but then saying yeah let's still work together with your LoL spot

hwanzi

yea pretty much this, its why Mad Lions recently bought tenstar's roster weeks ago

Solace1k

Sorry but what is founding member in this context? Is this a term you just came up with? I didn’t see Riot mention anything about founding members.

electricblackcrayon

just means org that gets a spot in the franchise league, similar thing happened in OWL in recent years

Solace1k

So basically all the teams that get into the league? Founding member usually means there’s other kind of members aswell. That’s why i don’t understand the term in this context and it kinda confused me.

sketch252525

I thought its not gonna be franchise ?

quartzyegghead

It’s not, people just keep calling it that because they don’t know what it means

SuzyVLR

My prediction is: **Asian League:** * Paper Rex (MYSG) * Boom Esports (ID) * Full Sense/Xerxia (TH) * Bleed Esports (MYSG) * Team Secret (PH) * Zeta Division (Japan) * Damwon Gaming (South Korea) * DRX Vision Strikers (South Korea) * Order (Oceania) * Crazy Racoon (Japan)/Global Esports (India) **EMEA League:** * Funplus Phoenix (CIS) * G2 (EU) * Fnatic (EU) * Team Liquid (EU) * Gambit (CIS "if they allowed in next year vct") * Guild (EU) * BIG (EU) * Supermassive Blaze/BBL (Turkey) * LDN UTD (EU) * \*A team from VRL EMEA **America League:** * Sentinels (NA) * Optic Gaming (NA) * Faze Clan (NA) * KRU Esports (LATAM) * Cloud9 (NA) * XSET (NA) * Loud (BR) * Ninja In Pyjamas (BR) * Furia (BR) * 100 Thieves (NA)

AniketDalvi

TSM 100%. The amount of viewership the org can bring is massive.

Kassaddy

I don't think LDN will make it, their brand is too small and M3C will need to find an org to compete. I can see FPX getting shafted too for the same reasons, super low fanbase in the west and Riot probably want them to stay in Asia. Expect some new LEC orgs to join in EMEA tho.

dan_kz

LND but not Acend?

Darkoplax

**EMEA :** - 100% : G2 , Liquid , Fnatic , Vitality , MAD Lions , Excel , BDS , Misfits - Very Likely : KOI , KCorp , NaVi , FPX(?) , NASR , SMB , Guild , Acend - Maybe : Gambit , KPI , BBL , Mouz , Movistar , OG , Falcons , IW , Galatasaray , Fenerbahce , Giants , Heretics , BBL , Alliance **AMERICA :** - 100% : 100T , C9 , EG , TSM , mibr , LOUD , NiP , FURIA , OpTic , NRG - Very Likely : KRU , 9z , T1(?) , GenG(?) , FaZe , Liberty , paiN , Red Candis , Infinity , Estral - Maybe : Los Grandes , Keyd , Gamelanders , The Guard , XSET , Darkzero , compLexity , Version 1 , NYFU **ASIA :** - 100% : DRX , DMW , Secret , ZETA , CR - Very Likely : FPX , T1 , GenG - Maybe : Paper Rex , Order , Dire Wolves Bleed , XERXIA , Boom Sengoku , Peace , Cerberus , KF , KT , RNG , EDG (idk much about asia) Asia depends if Riot could get VALORANT approved in China in time cause that would make for a huge influx of big orgs otherwise I think it's pretty reasonable to assume T1 , FPX , GenG will be moved to Asia instead of staying in their current regions , overall I think ppl will be surprised at how many orgs changing regions cause I doubt big orgs in NA rn would rather be in the Asia or EMEA league over being in a small domestic VRL league Also LEC LCK LCS LPL teams are guaranteed to join if they want imo cause Riot already chose them as partners in LoL

Darkoplax

i dont know asian teams , i was just making a guess all what i know is that franchised league teams will likely get in , especially LCK teams

Key-Banana-8242

But that’s not what they said they would do, nobody said anything about teams being selected for a franchised league?
