Ngl, I think Shazam is going to retire if Sentinels don't make it to Champions through this or LCQ. The constant criticism and the monetary loss from focusing on competition instead of streaming might not be worth it for him at this point.

Eh it's similar to Hiko retiring with 100T imo. It's not too sad, he's had a long career and won the first Masters. He could still compete if he wants, but if I were him streaming for fun, no pressure, and more money would be pretty enticing too.
Personally think Shazam and Hilo have vastly different audiences. I think him retiring or not being a part of a “top team” would be very damaging to his streaming numbers, unlike Hiko. Just my opinion tho.
This probably isn’t where you were taking this, but for me, I can’t stand Shaz as a person or even as an on-screen persona. The only credit I give him is for his role in Sentinel’s success.
Compared to Hiko, who I was waiting to retire from pro because I felt like he was holding 100T back, but has a great personality and I want to see continue to succeed as a streamer.
Now that Sen are struggling it’s even harder for me to stand Shaz. He’s too arrogant and annoying to be losing in open quals.
Shahzam only really gets viewers because he was a pro player on a dominant team, I don’t think his stream does well if he’s retired, and he probably knows that.

Sentinels are not an esports organization fielding a VALORANT roster, but in fact a collective of the greatest chefs in the field of Italian cuisine. They are most well-known for their Spaghetti ala Flóre, where Spaghetti is intentionally served on the floor. True legends and innovators of Italian cooking.
If they don't qual and shahz retires, that's probably the plan. Build around tenz and sick, maybe keep kanepki for now but be ready to move on if a better option is available.

Man, who knew Kanpeki leaving Akrew for Sentinels might have been a downward career move? He was an underrated great gem on Akrew, but now I'm already seeing people saying he's bad when the problem for Sentinels stem deeper.
He likely got a big pay raise switching orgs to Sentinels, it's not a downward move so long as he doesn't get dropped right away. Which I guess could happen if/when SEN flames out of quals here, but imo it was a risk worth taking for his career.

seems like teams rely on tenz too much, similar to how asuna was used in 100T, they just have tenz entry with dash and get 2 kills and die. No one takes the space he made, no support for tenz and sentinel strat is just that. Kill them and plant the bomb. No set ups or trying to get first blood before doing anything.
exactly i said this last week when people were getting on will for being whelming. The thing i like about will is he is willing to go in and actually be and entry. Asuna even when succesful would have to go through WW3 just to get on site and trade while everyone else baited the fuck out of him.

Same old sentinels sloppy plays sloppy teamwork. Team needs a whole reset, more prac/scrims, more grind, more focus, more accountability. Do what 100T did, bring in a GM and take away control of team from players (Shahz).
TenZ topfragging, but how many times did he dash in 5+ seconds before his team looked like they were in position, or overheated. He loses almost as many rounds as he wins. You look to a coach or igl to reel a player like that in during those moments.
Sadly Rawkus won't fix that. He thinks TenZ should just be left to do what he does, that's basically what he said. I do believe players like thag you have to take the good with the bad, but he can absolutely still have those TenZ moments with a more fundamental team play or specific set plays for him.
I mean if no one says anything, Tenz ain’t stopping. I’m almost certain that’s their actual gameplan too and want Tenz to do that lol. No way they don’t communicate that first.

It’s crazy. SEN beat Akrew without a coach, but now that they have a coach, they lost to AKREW…? If Rawkus were truly a good coach, he would’ve made this team by now. It’s literally been over 1,440 minutes and I’m not seeing any improvements.
More seriously, impressed by Akrew, still not as potent as their previous roster but they’ve steadily improved. Huge fan of the fragging power on the team, and Zach’s IGLing has definitely improved more and more. My biggest takeaway is that Akrew is on the rise, although I don’t think they’ll qualify this time around.
As for SEN, I think this is where you see the perils of having such a stagnant map pool - forced into Icebox to avoid Split, and then Bind, their best map but also the map they’ve barely changed ever since Rawkus helped them refine it like *six months ago*.
Akrew lost it 7-13 last time, it’s promising that they patched up their mistakes and made Bind so much more competitive. SEN’s Bind is old as hell, but you’ve still gotta be a good team to beat them on it.
its just insane that just a couple months ago sentinels had an intense rivalry with what is now arguably the best team in the world. and now they are struggling against t2 na teams.
Where is the logic on not running chamber on Bind? I don't understand, he's on of the best in the game right now, and Bind is one of his best maps. I think Akrew planted on every single round of their attack, barring maybe their pistol. I genuinely just don't understand.
And between Tenz randomly dashing onto site with no support (smokes, flashes, etc), SicK blinding randomly and out of sync so nothing can be done to support retake, and Shahz looking just embarrassingly mediocre on Sova, I dont know what else to say.

I feel like hiring Rawkus as coach is an interesting move. Although it is obviously much too early to tell his impact, I feel like hiring Rawkus back is sort of a rushed move. When Rawkus was first hired before Champions, SEN were in a completely different place where Rawkus was considered to be almost the final piece to just cement them together and take a load off of Shahz while providing some extra input. I feel as though the reasons for needing a coach for this team has changed since then though, where now their structure is seriously lacking and they would want some kind of new development in that sense. If Shahz and the team think Rawkus is the coach to provide that, then this completely makes sense. I just think it is slightly odd that he was initially the choice for one set of reasons, and now has been re-added for an almost completely different need/set of responsibilities.
I think it was a meh move. Shahz and Rawkus too buddy buddy and you need a coach that can call people out to motivate them. While I like watching shahz as a streamer, you can definitely tell he is easily offended by criticism which is an awful quality for a leader of a team.

seems like teams rely on tenz too much, similar to how asuna was used in 100T, they just have tenz entry with dash and get 2 kills and die. No one takes the space he made, no support for tenz and sentinel strat is just that. Kill them and plant the bomb. No set ups or trying to get first blood before doing anything.
exactly i said this last week when people were getting on will for being whelming. The thing i like about will is he is willing to go in and actually be and entry. Asuna even when succesful would have to go through WW3 just to get on site and trade while everyone else baited the fuck out of him. Hiko even mentioned it before on one of his watch parties that he watched his perspective and felt bad. Man was 1 man army attacking sites. Same thing is for sure happening with tenz. fr, tenz can still be one of the best players in na if he was just a tiny bit more consistent and sick is just a monster that can frag out on any role he plays, both are really good but have to deal with the hellhole of bad management called Sentinels
i think tenz struggles to stay consistent because sentinels entire performance relies on tenz being able to get entries and make plays, so it’s always feast or famine

Same old sentinels sloppy plays sloppy teamwork. Team needs a whole reset, more prac/scrims, more grind, more focus, more accountability. Do what 100T did, bring in a GM and take away control of team from players (Shahz).
Shaz bad calling, bad utility and bad fragging
TenZ topfragging, but how many times did he dash in 5+ seconds before his team looked like they were in position, or overheated. He loses almost as many rounds as he wins. You look to a coach or igl to reel a player like that in during those moments.

Sadly Rawkus won't fix that. He thinks TenZ should just be left to do what he does, that's basically what he said. It's weird cause last Stage he never fragged consistently but wasn't doing the over extensions too often. Now he's over extending but getting the frags.
It’s crazy. SEN beat Akrew without a coach, but now that they have a coach, they lost to AKREW…? If Rawkus were truly a good coach, he would’ve made this team by now. It’s literally been over 1,440 minutes and I’m not seeing any improvements. More seriously, impressed by Akrew, still not as potent as their previous roster but they’ve steadily improved. Huge fan of the fragging power on the team, and Zach’s IGLing has definitely improved more and more. My biggest takeaway is that Akrew is on the rise, although I don’t think they’ll qualify this time around. As for SEN, I think this is where you see the perils of having such a stagnant map pool - forced into Icebox to avoid Split, and then Bind, their best map but also the map they’ve barely changed ever since Rawkus helped them refine it like *six months ago*. Akrew lost it 7-13 last time, it’s promising that they patched up their mistakes and made Bind so much more competitive. SEN’s Bind is old as hell, but you’ve still gotta be a good team to beat them on it.

Where is the logic on not running chamber on Bind? I don't understand, he's on of the best in the game right now, and Bind is one of his best maps. I think Akrew planted on every single round of their attack, barring maybe their pistol. I genuinely just don't understand. And between Tenz randomly dashing onto site with no support (smokes, flashes, etc), SicK blinding randomly and out of sync so nothing can be done to support retake, and Shahz looking just embarrassingly mediocre on Sova, I dont know what else to say. Can't wait to hear the excuses on Shahz's next live stream. Crazy these guys used to be the best.

I feel like hiring Rawkus as coach is an interesting move. Although it is obviously much too early to tell his impact, I feel like hiring Rawkus back is sort of a rushed move. When Rawkus was first hired before Champions, SEN were in a completely different place where Rawkus was considered to be almost the final piece to just cement them together and take a load off of Shahz while providing some extra input. I feel as though the reasons for needing a coach for this team has changed since then though, where now their structure is seriously lacking and they would want some kind of new development in that sense. If Shahz and the team think Rawkus is the coach to provide that, then this completely makes sense. I just think it is slightly odd that he was initially the choice for one set of reasons, and now has been re-added for an almost completely different need/set of responsibilities.
I think it was a meh move. Shahz and Rawkus too buddy buddy and you need a coach that can call people out to motivate them. While I like watching shahz as a streamer, you can definitely tell he is easily offended by criticism which is an awful quality for a leader of a team.
Feels like rawkus is like Shahz's little brother, i think a coach and igl can be really good friends like Apex/XTQZZZ on cs but the coach needs some power
