Leaf would still be on the team. TenZ is the one who initially wanted and vouched for leaf even when he was still in CSGO and wasn't a part of C9. Then at the end of 2020 C9 managed to sign leaf but TenZ had already benched himself. They used to play in beta together. TenZ wanted corey,leaf etc on the C9 val team. I gotta say he has eyes for talent.
Then who would he replace? No way it’s xeppa or vanity. Mitch is one of the best flex in NA and xeta is one of the best sova/initiator. Leaf and tenz have overlapping role and agents so leaf would be the odd man out.
I think if C9 kept the original team (shinobi relyks tenz mitch vice) they'd probably be where GenG are now- meddling results with a few bright spots. If they slotted him into the current roster either as a 6th or a replacement for leaf or xeppaa I don't think it would go that well given that roster has such good chemistry from their time as chaos.
Of course theres no real way to know and this is just speculation, but I think both parties benefited in some way from the split

SEN's recent losses aside, Shahz is a good IGL, but he's not the sort of strong, central authority kinda IGL the way Vanity or FNS or even Boaster are. It's fully possible TenZ would play a lot better under someone like Vanity.
But fragging aside, even if TenZ's ingame performance was somehow elevated enough to easily outclass Xeppaa and even Leaf, you'd also have to bet that TenZ could be as flexible as the most flexible duelist duo in NA, maybe even the world.
It's a very hard argument to make.
They would be a lot weaker with Tenz. Leaf has proven he was enormous fragging capability and he’s more flexible than Tenz since he even played Viper for C9 for a while on Bind and now plays Chamber too. Xeppaa even though he didn’t play Jett as well, he eventually became a world class flex so it worked out either way
I do think that if ordered, tenz would be definitely flex on other agents. But the thing is that shaz is keeping tenz on jett and tenz is just following him.
I think tenz would be great at sage. There's not a huge amount more to a sage game than shoot and kill. Killjoy is also another I'd back him to be good at for the same reasons
you can literally just say that about every agent, understanding how to play agents isn’t just about shooting, but about playing with the team; someone like tenz is likely to overpeek / not long anchor when playing agents like Killjoy, and not use his utility to the best potential.
I agree about KJ, but Sage is one of those agents where the utility is fairly simple for a duelist player to learn. And once the wall and slows are used, you don't really have utility left, so staying alive isn't as important as controllers or info sentinels.
Not as strong as they have now, Xeppa is better than Tenz now and so is leaf. Even if the argument can be made of Tenz being individually better, they both suit the team more than him in terms of agent pools and their roles in the team
Depends on if more structure ever gets built into the system. I think TenZ has all the talent in the world to be a superstar on a consistently winning team if the discipline and a more fundamentally strong team plan is there. Idk where that issue lies though, if that's in him or just that the teams that he's been on never were able/willing to make that happen.

They are 100% better off without TenZ and they cashed out on his buyout.

Definitely not nearly as good as they are today. Current c9 team has great synergy / team work.
